Abstract
Description
[0001] COMPOSITION FOR HAIR AND SKIN PROTECTION
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to the perfumery and cosmetics industry, namely the production of protective compositions for use during dyeing of keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as hair, and can be used to protect the skin and hair from the aggressive effects of dye.
[0004] Background Art
[0005] During hair dyeing, the hair and scalp are exposed to harmful chemicals, therefore products are used to protect the hair and scalp from damage.
[0006] At present, there are a significant number of products for protecting the hair and scalp during dyeing. Known compositions include components aimed at protecting and restoring hair, as well as ingredients providing moisturizing, protecting against chemical damage, and reducing scalp irritation.
[0007] To protect the scalp, protective creams, such as barrier creams creating a protective layer on the scalp, preventing direct contact between the dye and the skin, are used. They usually contain moisturizing and softening ingredients, such as panthenol, which is a skin regenerating agent and promotes healing.
[0008] To protect the hair, protective sprays and oils, applied to the hair before dyeing, protecting its structure from aggressive chemical influences, are used. For example, argan oil that protects hair, adds shine, and nourishes; keratin that strengthens hair, making it smooth and elastic; silicones that create a protective film on the hair surface. Before dyeing, conditioners and masks are also used to prepare the hair, providing deep moisturization and nourishment, such as hyaluronic acid, which moisturizes and restores the hair structure, and silk proteins, which strengthen and protect the hair. After dyeing, conditioners and masks are used to help restore the hair after exposure to dye, maintaining its health and shine, such as keratin complexes restoring the damaged hair structure; oils and extracts adding shine and nourishment; colour stabilizers, such as special shampoos and conditioners maintaining hair colour and protecting it from washing out, UV filters protecting hair colour from fading in the sun, antioxidants preventing oxidative processes that can damage colour.
[0009] Most known hair and skin protection compositions have failed to prevent the harmful effects of hydrogen peroxide often used in hair colouring processes but having very harmful effects as it can cause hair damage and scalp irritation.
[0010] A known skin protection composition containing a hydrogen peroxide activity reducer in the form of the enzyme catalase helps neutralize hydrogen peroxide, reducing its aggressive effect on hair and skin. The known composition also contains a chemically inert carrier material, a conditioning emulsifier, a skin nourishing oil, a pH maintaining agent, a skin regenerating agent, a skin softening agent, a preservative, a perfume composition, and water, see US Patent US 6309656B1 “Cosmetic and skin protective compositions”; IPC A61K7 / 13 The known composition is the closest to the proposed one and was selected as a prototype.
[0011] The composition protects the skin and hair from oxidative damage and local irritation.
[0012] US Patent US 6309656B1 describes a skin protection composition containing catalase enzyme in an amount of 0.5-3% wt.
[0013] The composition also contains a saturated fatty acid alcohol, which is a softening moisturizer and protective barrier; an amino-lipidic complex, which is a co-emulsifier and consists mainly of at least one amino acid compound esterified to a fatty acid; an emulsifier selected from the group of non-ionic, anionic, or cationic surfactants; a skin healing agent selected from the group consisting of allantoin (5-ureidohydantoin) and panthenol; a bactericidal surfactant 2- bromo-2-nitropropane-l, 3-diol, quatemium-15, benzoisothiazide and / or paraben esters; and water with a practically neutral pH in an amount sufficient to achieve the specified ranges for the active components.
[0014] In one example, the known composition contains, % wt.
[0015] Permethyl 101A (alkane) skin softener 8-10%,
[0016] Carbomer 940 (gelling agent) 0.20%,
[0017] Stearic acid (moisturizer) 2-4%, Glyceryl stearate (coemulsifier) 1-3%,
[0018] Octyl palmitate (moisturizer) 1-2%,
[0019] Dermacryl-79 (film-forming barrier) 0.5-2%,
[0020] Catalase enzyme (antioxidant) 0.5-3% ,
[0021] HEPES Linoleate (anti-inflammatory agent) 1 -2% ,
[0022] Panthenol (skin regenerator) 1.5-2%,
[0023] Triethanolamine (neutralizer) 1.3%,
[0024] Polyethylene glycol 2000 1-2%,
[0025] Dimethicone 556 (emollient) 0.5-1% ,
[0026] Silicone 200 (emollient) 0.5-1% ,
[0027] Oat protein (antioxidant) 1-2% ,
[0028] Germaben II diazourea compound (preservative)** 1%,
[0029] Phytic acid 0.5% ,
[0030] Allantoin (healing agent) 0.5-1% ,
[0031] Deionized water - the rest.
[0032] The disadvantage of this invention is the limited ability of the composition to neutralize hydrogen peroxide and protect against its aggressive effects, which is due to an insufficient amount of catalase.
[0033] The known composition does not ensure the preservation of hair colour and protection of the scalp from harmful effects and traces of dye, is not effective enough to protect the skin of the hairline, as well as to protect and fix the colour after dyeing, provide preliminary protection against discolouration, act as a protector for working with total blonde during complete lightening of hair, previously lightened and bleached strands, and as protection against ultraviolet radiation, and contains an insufficiently effective ratio of components.
[0034] The state of the art does not include a product that would be effective enough to reduce the negative effects of hydrogen peroxide and remove traces of dye from the skin during hair dyeing, while not interfering with tone-on-tone, black, and reflective colours. Disclosure of Invention
[0035] The invention is based on the task of combining known components with the enzyme catalase and new components in appropriate proportions to create a new composition for protecting hair and skin, which would improve the protection of hair and scalp from the harmful effects of hydrogen peroxide, allow the removal of dye traces on the skin during hair dyeing, without interfering with dyeing and allowing safe dyeing, protect the skin at the hairline, and be used as protection and colour fixation after dyeing, as preliminary protection before bleaching, as a protector for working with total blonde, previously lightened and bleached strands, as well as protection against UV radiation.
[0036] The task is solved by a composition for hair and skin protection, which contains a hydrogen peroxide activity reducer in the form of the enzyme catalase, a chemically inert carrier material, a conditioning emulsifier, a skin nourishing oil, a pH maintenance agent, a skin regeneration agent, a moisturizer, an emollient, a preservative, a perfume composition, and water, according to the invention, additionally contains vitamin complex A, C, B, vitamins F, oat extract, conditioner, and has the following ratio of components, % wt:

[0062] - polyquatemium-7 - 0.3-3%,
[0063] - fragrance - 0.1-1%,
[0064] - argan oil (skin nourishing oil) - 0.1-3%,
[0065] - macadamia oil - 0.1-3%, - almond oil - 0.1-3%,
[0066] - grape seed oil - 0.1 -3%,
[0067] - lactic acid - 0.1 -0.5%,

[0072] As it turned out, when changing the catalase content and additionally including in the composition a means for maintaining pH, such as, for example, linoleic acid and lactic acid; emollients, such as cyclopentasiloxane; skin regeneration agents, such as D-panthenol 75%; moisturizers, such as glycerine; emulsifiers, such as, for example, cetrimonium chloride; vitamin complex A, C, B; vitamins F; oat extract; polyquatemium; oils for nourishing the skin, such as argan oil, macadamia oil, almond oil, grape seed oil, improves the protection of hair and scalp from the harmful effects of hydrogen peroxide, removes traces of dye from the skin during hair dyeing, at the same time, it is possible to dye hair safely, protect the skin at the hairline, and achieve colour protection and fixation after dyeing, as a preliminary protection against discolouration, as a protector for working with total blonde, previously lightened and discoloured strands, as well as protection against ultraviolet radiation.
[0073] The presence and ratio of components allows the use of catalase in an amount of 3-27%, which is significantly more effective than in the known composition. During the research, it was found that the use of catalase in an amount of up to 3% is not effective enough, and at an amount of more than 27%, the effectiveness decreases. The maximum effectiveness of the composition is achieved when using catalase in an amount of 5-20%.
[0074] This composition provides comprehensive protection for hair and scalp during dyeing, reduces the negative impact of dyes, and helps maintain the healthy appearance and condition of hair.
[0075] During the study, an unexpected effect of the quantitative composition of the claimed composition and the ratio of components was discovered. In the claimed composition, catalase has a synergistic effect with other ingredients, such as D-panthenol, glycerine, vitamins, oils, and extracts, improving the overall effectiveness of the product. The combination of the following components provides the greatest effectiveness of the composition.
[0076] The enzyme catalase is used to quickly neutralize hydrogen peroxide, reducing its aggressive effect on hair and skin. In addition, catalase provides antioxidant protection by reducing oxidative stress, which can cause damage to skin and hair cells. This helps keep hair strong and healthy.
[0077] Since catalase helps reduce irritation caused by hydrogen peroxide, it can help soothe the scalp during and after colouring.
[0078] Rapid neutralization of hydrogen peroxide helps preserve hair structure, reducing brittleness and dryness. This makes hair smoother and softer to the touch.
[0079] The most effective conditioning emulsifier is one that contains behenamidopropyl dimethylamine, dipalmitoethyl, hydroxyethylmonium methosulfate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and lactic acid. DANOX HC-30, for example, can be used as a conditioning emulsifier, which helps to mix oils and water, ensuring product homogeneity and improving the distribution of active ingredients throughout the hair.
[0080] A vitamin complex that includes vitamin A, which promotes hair growth and improves its structure, vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that protects hair from damage caused by free radicals, B vitamins, which help strengthen hair, make it less brittle, and promote its growth, vitamin B5 (panthenol), which moisturizes hair, giving it elasticity and shine.
[0081] D-panthenol (provitamin B5) moisturizes hair and scalp, promoting their restoration, regeneration, and healing.
[0082] Vitamins F - a complex of essential fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acids) that promote the nourishment and restoration of hair and skin, strengthen the skin’s natural barrier, helping to protect it from harmful external influences, such as aggressive chemicals in hair dyes. Linoleic acid helps retain moisture in the skin and hair, preventing dryness and dehydration, nourishes the skin and hair, making them softer and smoother, has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce inflammation and skin irritation that can occur during colouring, and helps to soothe the skin and reduce redness.
[0083] Oat extract has soothing, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties, helps protect the scalp, and improves hair condition. In one embodiment of the invention, the composition contains dimethicone as a chemically inert carrier material. Dimethicone is a silicone that creates a protective layer on the hair, makes it easier to comb, adds shine, and reduces damage.
[0084] The presence of lactic and linoleic acids in the composition provides optimal pH, additional moisturizing, nourishment, improvement of the skin's barrier functions, and reduction of inflammation, which improves overall effectiveness and protection during hair colouring. Lactic acid helps regulate the pH level of the product, ensuring its stability, and also acts as a moisturizer and improves the penetration of other active ingredients into the skin.
[0085] Argan oil is known for its moisturizing, nourishing, and restorative properties. It strengthens hair, making it soft and shiny.
[0086] Glycerine is a skin softener and moisturizing agent that attracts moisture from the air and retains it in the hair and skin, preventing dryness.
[0087] Cyclopentasiloxane is a light silicone that makes hair smooth and shiny, makes it easier to comb, and protects it from thermal damage.
[0088] Sodium chloride can be used as a thickener, which also helps regulate the viscosity of the product.
[0089] Polyquatemium 7 is a polymer acting as a conditioner, making combing easier, and giving hair smoothness and softness.
[0090] The aromatic component is a fragrance, such as OUD fragrance.
[0091] The preservative may contain diazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, and propylene glycol. The preservative may be, for example, Sharomix, which is used to ensure long-term storage of the product by preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi.
[0092] The combination of the above components has a synergistic effect and provides comprehensive protection against aggressive chemicals used in hair colouring.
[0093] Thus, the proposed protective composition for hair and scalp has numerous advantages due to its carefully selected composition and ratio of active ingredients, which provide comprehensive protection, moisturization, nourishment, and restoration.
[0094] Industrial Applicability The composition for protecting hair and skin can be obtained in stages by mixing the ingredients, emulsifying them, and adding a perfume composition.
[0095] Method of application 1.
[0096] To protect the skin at the hairline.
[0097] Apply the protector to the scalp along the hairline. Leave it on the skin and proceed to dyeing the roots. After the exposure time has elapsed, emulsify the dye with water along the entire hairline. Rinse off.
[0098] Method of application 2.
[0099] To protect and fix the colour after dyeing.
[0100] Apply the product after dyeing to damp, shampooed hair evenly throughout the entire length of the hair. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. The oxidative processes in the hair will stop, the colour will be securely fixed, will stop running and washing out quickly.
[0101] Method of application 3.
[0102] Protection before bleaching.
[0103] Perform standard pre-washing the day before bleaching. Use the protector instead of a mask. Leave on for 3-5 minutes, rinse off and dry. The next day, when bleaching regrown roots, there will be no over-lightening at the junction with previously bleached hair, which will allow you to achieve a uniform tone.
[0104] Method of application 4.
