Abstract
Description
Carrier bag type water purifier
[0001] The present invention relates to a water purification device that can convert tap water supplied to ordinary households into safer and more active water under normal circumstances, and can also absorb water from outdoor water sources (swimming pools, rivers, ponds, lakes, etc.) and secure high-quality drinking water in emergencies such as earthquakes.
[0002] Conventional household water purifiers are widely used to remove chlorine and organic matter from tap water. However, because they are attached to the tap and purify water using the water supply pressure, there has been no thought of taking them outdoors and using them to purify water from outdoor water sources in the event of a disaster. Meanwhile, water purifiers that purify water from outdoor water sources (rivers, ponds, oceans, etc.) are large and require transportation equipment such as a vehicle to transport them to the water source in the event of a disaster. Thus, there has been no water purifier that can both purify tap water supplied to ordinary households under normal circumstances into safer, more active water and, at the same time, be easily carried outdoors and purify water from outdoor water sources (rivers, ponds, oceans, etc.) in the event of a disaster such as an earthquake.
[0003] The present applicant previously filed a patent application with the intention of developing such a water purifier (see Patent Document 1), but it had problems such as being difficult to transport because it had to be carried by hand, and each part being housed together in a case, making it difficult to inspect each part.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2006-102726
[0005] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above circumstances, and aims to solve the problem of providing a carrier bag type water purification device that is easily portable and can easily purify water from rivers, ponds, oceans, etc. into drinkable water.
[0006] The invention of claim 1 relates to a carrier bag type water purification device comprising a main body equipped with a carrier and capable of being opened and closed in two parts, a lid side and a storage side, a filter block equipped with a plurality of filters stored in the main body, a pump block having a pump that draws water and passes the water drawn into the filter, a power supply block equipped with a storage battery and an inverter to drive the pump, and a solar cell block equipped with a foldable solar cell, wherein each of the blocks can be separated and placed either vertically or horizontally, and wherein the main body can purify water in either vertical or horizontal position.
[0007] The invention according to claim 2 relates to the carrier bag type water purifier according to claim 1, characterized in that the main body has a length of 400 mm or less, a width of 540 mm or less, and a height of 780 mm or less when closed.
[0008] The invention of claim 3 relates to a carrier bag type water purification device described in any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the power supply block is provided in the lower section on the storage side of the main body, the pump block is provided in the middle section, the filter block is provided in the upper section, and the solar cell block is provided on the lid side of the main body.
[0009] The invention of claim 4 relates to the carrier bag type water purification device described in claim 3, characterized in that a connection cap that can be attached to the mouth of a commercially available drinking water bottle is attached to the inlet tip of the water intake pipe that draws the water to be purified into the filter block.
[0010] According to the invention of claim 1, the carrier is provided, making it easy to carry like a carrier bag. Furthermore, the main body can be opened and closed in two parts, the lid side and the storage side, making it easy to remove and store each block from the main body, and also to inspect each block. Since each block can be separated and placed vertically or horizontally, the placement position and orientation of each block can be selected according to the installation location. Furthermore, because each block can be separated and placed independently, in the event of a malfunction, only the malfunctioning block needs to be replaced, making maintenance and repair easier.
[0011] According to the invention of claim 2, the main body has a length of 400 mm or less, a width of 540 mm or less, and a height of 780 mm or less when closed, so that it can be easily carried by hand.
[0012] According to the invention of claim 3, the power supply block is provided in the lower section of the storage side of the main body, and the pump block is provided in the middle section, resulting in a low center of gravity. This makes it easy to transport using a carrier. It also makes it less likely to tip over when purifying water upright with each block stored in the main body. Furthermore, the solar cell block is provided on the lid side, making it easy to remove the solar cell, install it, and store it.
[0013] According to the invention of claim 4, a connecting cap that can be attached to the opening of a commercially available drinking water bottle is attached to the inlet tip of the water suction pipe that draws water to be purified into the filter block, so that an empty commercially available drinking water bottle can be attached to the water suction pipe. The bottom of this empty bottle is cut away to form a trumpet-like shape, and a cloth or other material is placed inside the empty bottle as a filter. When this empty bottle filter is placed in an outdoor water source (such as a swimming pool, river, pond, or lake) and water is drawn in, large foreign objects can be easily removed.
[0014] Fig. 1(a) is a schematic front view of a carrier bag type water purifier according to an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 1(b) is a schematic perspective view of the same carrier bag type water purifier. Fig. 1(b) is a schematic front view of the same carrier bag type water purifier with the main body open. Fig. 1(b) is a structural diagram showing the connection state between the filter block and the pump block of the same carrier bag type water purifier. Fig. 1(b) is a schematic view of a connection cap for a water suction pipe of the same carrier bag type water purifier.
[0015] The carrier bag-type water purifier according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1(a) shows a schematic front view of the carrier bag-type water purifier 1, FIG. 1(b) shows a schematic perspective view, and FIG. 2 shows a schematic front view of the interior of the lid side 21 and storage side 22 when the main body 2 is open. The carrier bag-type water purifier 1 comprises a main body 2 equipped with a carrier 23 and capable of being opened and closed into two halves, the lid side 21 and the storage side 22. The main body 2 contains a filter block 3 equipped with multiple filters 31, a pump block 4 equipped with a pump 41 that draws water and passes it through the filter 31, a power supply block 5 equipped with a storage battery and an inverter to drive the pump 41, and a solar cell block 6 equipped with a foldable solar cell 61. The filter block 3, pump block 4, power supply block 5, and solar cell block 6 are each separable and can be placed vertically or horizontally. Because each block can be placed vertically or horizontally, water can be purified in either a vertical or horizontal orientation when the main body 2 contains each block. Furthermore, since each block can be separated and made independent, when a failure occurs, only the failed block needs to be replaced, making maintenance and repair easier.
[0016] Carriers 23 are attached to the bottom of the main body 2. The number of carriers 23 may be adjusted to the weight of the carrier bag-type water purifier 1, such as four under the storage side 22 and two under the lid side 21. The main body 2 is divided into two parts, the lid side 21 and the storage side 22, and can be opened like a carrier bag. When transporting, the lid side 21 and the storage side 22 are kept closed using the included key (not shown). The carriers 23 make it easy to carry the device by grasping the handle 24 like a carrier bag. Furthermore, because the main body 2 can be opened and closed into two parts, the lid side 21 and the storage side 22, it is easy to remove and store each block from the main body 2, and to inspect each block.
[0017] As shown in Figure 1(b), the size of the main body is preferably 400 mm or less in length (X), 540 mm or less in width (Y), and 780 mm or less in height (Z). It can be easily carried by hand like a carrier bag.
[0018] As shown in FIG. 2 , the carrier bag-type water purifier 1 includes a power supply block 5 in the lower section of the storage side 22, a pump block 4 in the middle section, and a filter block 3 in the upper section. Several filters 31 are arranged in the filter block 3. While only three filters 31 are shown in FIG. 2 , more filters 31 are actually arranged. The heavy power supply block 5 is located in the lower section, lowering the center of gravity of the main body 2. This facilitates manual transportation using the carrier 23. Furthermore, the device is less likely to tip over when purifying water upright with each block stored in the main body 2. Furthermore, the filter block 3 is located in the upper section, making it easy to check each filter 31. The lid side 21 is provided with a solar cell block 6 having a solar cell 61. Because the solar cell 61 is stored in the lid side 21, it can be easily removed, allowing for immediate installation at the water source.
[0019] Figure 3 shows the connections between each filter 31 in the filter block 3 and the pump 41 in the pump block 4. The filter block 3 includes multiple filters 31. The filters 31 are connected in the order shown in Figure 3: a sediment filter (5 μm) 32, a pre-carbon filter 33, a sediment filter (1 μm) 34, a membrane filter 35, and a post-carbon filter 36. A pump 41 is connected between the sediment filter (5 μm) 32 and the pre-carbon filter 33. The sediment filter (5 μm) 32 and the sediment filter (1 μm) 34 remove various suspended solids, such as dust particles and foreign matter, through a fine filter mesh. The pre-carbon filter 33 uses activated carbon adsorption to remove carcinogenic substances (THMs), synthetic detergents, pesticides, and other chemicals harmful to the human body, as well as chlorine components. The membrane filter 35 is made of a 0.0001 micron reverse osmosis membrane and removes heavy metals such as lead and arsenic, as well as sodium, bacteria, viruses, radioactive materials, etc. The post-carbon filter 36 filters out unpleasant tastes, odors, coloring materials, etc. The leading sediment filter (5 μm) 32 is connected to a water intake pipe 71 that draws the water to be purified into the carrier bag type water purification device 1.
[0020] The tip of the suction pipe 71 is inserted into a water source (river, pond, ocean, etc.), and the pump 41 draws water from the water source into the sediment filter (5 μm) 32. The water purified by the sediment filter (5 μm) 32 is then sent by the pump 41 to the pre-carbon filter 33, sediment filter (1 μm) 34, membrane filter 35, and post-carbon filter 36, in that order, where it is purified and supplied to a tank or other device via the supply pipe 72. A UV germicidal lamp may be installed after the post-carbon filter 36 for sterilization. A drain pipe 73 and a valve 74 are installed at the outlet side of the membrane filter 35. If the membrane filter 35 becomes clogged with foreign matter such as calcium carbonate, the valve 74 on the drain pipe 73 is opened to discharge the foreign matter. Installing two membrane filters 35 in parallel and alternately discharging foreign matter can improve the operational efficiency of the water purification system. A high-pressure pump, such as a pressure of 90 to 130 psi, is desirable for the pump 41.
[0021] The power supply block 5 is equipped with a battery and an inverter. It is designed to use a household power supply, solar cells, or an automobile battery as a power source. Because it is equipped with a battery, it can purify water using the electricity stored in the battery even when it cannot be connected to a household power supply or an automobile battery, or when it is raining and the solar cells cannot generate electricity. In addition, because it is equipped with an inverter, it can operate the pump 41 efficiently. Therefore, it can purify water even outdoors during a disaster.
[0022] As shown in Figure 4, a connection cap 8 that can be attached to the opening of a commercially available drinking water bottle P may be attached to the tip of a water suction pipe 71 that draws in water to be purified. The inner surface of the connection cap 8 is threaded with a female screw that matches the threads on the cap of the drinking water bottle P, allowing the water suction pipe 71 to be connected to the drinking water bottle P and the water from the drinking water bottle P to be drawn into the water suction pipe 71. The bottom of an empty drinking water bottle P is cut to form a trumpet shape, and a cloth or other filter is placed inside the drinking water bottle P. By immersing the drinking water bottle P connected to the water suction pipe 71 in an outdoor water source (rivers, ponds, oceans, etc.) and suctioning water, large foreign objects can be easily removed. This improves the water purification efficiency of the carrier bag-type water purification device 1.
[0023] Because the carrier bag type water purifier 1 has this structure, the suction pipe 71 can be connected to a water supply in normal times to purify tap water into safer, more active water, and at the same time, in the event of an emergency such as an earthquake, water can be drawn from an outdoor water source (rivers, ponds, seas, etc.) to ensure high-quality drinking water. When purifying tap water in the home, the water supply pressure alone can be used for purification, or the pump 41 can be operated using a household power source.
[0024] <Example> Examples of analytical values of river water purified by the carrier bag type water purification device of the present invention are shown below. River water conditions Sampling location: Yodo River riverbed, Osaka, under National Route 43 Sampling date: July 23, 2024 Sampling time: 10:30-10:50 Sampling conditions: Clear weather Temperature at time of sampling: 35.0°C Analytical values The river water was purified using a carrier bag type water purification device, and the purified water met the standards for tap water in all categories.
[0025] The present invention is suitable for use in purifying tap water and water from outdoor water sources (rivers, ponds, seas, etc.).
