Description

Cosmetic composition with excellent exfoliating effect

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition having excellent exfoliating efficacy. Specifically, it relates to a cosmetic composition that can contain a high amount of acid within the formulation, thereby having excellent sebum and dead skin cell removal effects and excellent formulation stability.

[0002] The skin's most important role is to act as a protective barrier against external bacterial invasion and damage, while also preventing heat and moisture loss from within. The skin is composed of several layers, the epidermis being the outermost layer, followed by the dermis and the subcutaneous fat layer. The epidermis is further subdivided into the stratum corneum, the granular layer, the spinous layer, and the basal layer. Epidermal cells produced in the basal layer ascend to the granular layer over a period of 14 days, where keratinization begins due to the action of keratohyalin. In normal cells, the stratum corneum consists of 15 to 20 layers, and it takes 15 to 20 days for them to completely separate. However, as we age, the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissues—the components of skin—thinnearly all of which contain the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissues. This process of separation delays the stratum corneum, thickening it and causing the skin to lose its vitality.

[0003] To address this keratin stratification, interest in peeling continues. These peeling methods include mechanical methods that remove dead skin cells through physical friction, and chemical methods that dissolve them with chemicals. In particular, research is ongoing into chemical peeling agents that utilize acidic ingredients to provide rapid and effective exfoliation. However, the problem with these methods is that high acid content lowers the pH of the composition, potentially causing skin irritation.

[0004] Accordingly, the inventors of the present invention have completed the present invention by producing a cosmetic composition that has excellent exfoliating effect while containing a high content of acid and maintaining an appropriate pH, thereby causing less skin irritation and having excellent formulation stability.

[0005] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic composition that can contain a high content of acid in the formulation, has an excellent sebum and dead skin cell removal effect, and has excellent formulation stability.

[0006] The technical problems of the present invention are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.

[0007] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a cosmetic composition having excellent exfoliating efficacy is provided, which comprises two or more thickeners and an acid, wherein the two or more thickeners comprise Sargassum fluitans / Natans Extract and polyacrylate crosspolymer-6.

[0008] The cosmetic composition according to the present invention contains a high content of acids such as AHA, BHA, PHA and LHA, and thus has an excellent effect in removing sebum, dead skin cells and residual waste.

[0009] In addition, the cosmetic composition may be slightly acidic while containing a high content of acid, so it may cause less irritation to the skin.

[0010] In addition, the cosmetic composition has excellent formulation stability and can be easily stored for a long period of time.

[0011] In addition, the cosmetic composition may have an appropriate viscosity to provide an excellent feeling of use.

[0012] In addition, the cosmetic composition can implement an emulsified formulation without applying a separate emulsifier.

[0023] Unless otherwise defined, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains. In general, the nomenclature used herein is well known and commonly used in the art. In addition, when describing embodiments of the present invention, if a detailed description of a related known structure or function is judged to hinder the understanding of the embodiments of the present invention, a detailed description thereof will be omitted. In addition, although embodiments of the present invention will be described below, the technical idea of the present invention is not limited or restricted thereto, and can be modified and implemented in various ways by those skilled in the art.

[0024] When a part in this specification is said to include a certain component, this does not exclude other components, unless otherwise specifically stated, but rather means that other components may be included. In this specification, the term "and / or" includes a combination of multiple related items or any one of multiple related items.

[0025]

[0026] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a cosmetic composition having excellent exfoliating efficacy is provided, which comprises two or more thickeners and an acid, wherein the two or more thickeners comprise Sargassum fluitans / Natans Extract and polyacrylate crosspolymer-6. The cosmetic composition can contain a high content of an acid having excellent exfoliating efficacy in the formulation, and maintains weak acidity so as to be hypoallergenic to the skin while having excellent formulation stability, thereby allowing a stable weak acidic formulation to be maintained for a long period of time.

[0027] The Sargassum fluitans / natans extract of the present invention is a natural water-soluble polymer that can maintain a stable acidity (pH) even when containing a high acid content, and can function as an emulsifier, thereby forming an emulsified formulation without including a separate emulsifier. Therefore, by including the Sargassum fluitans / natans extract, a cosmetic composition in the form of an emulsified formulation that is stabilized by a high acid content while maintaining the pH can be formed.

[0028] In one embodiment, the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract may be provided in the form of a mixture or complex with other substances. In a specific embodiment, the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract may be provided in the form of a complex such as Sargassum fluitans / Natans Extract*Xanthan gum*Pentylene Glycol. By providing the mixture or complex, a more stable emulsified formulation can be formed without adding a separate emulsifier.

[0029] In the present invention, “composite” means a component or structure in which two or more different types of components are closely physically or chemically combined to function.

[0030] In one embodiment, the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract may be included in an amount of 1.2 to 5 wt%, and specifically 1.5 to 4.5 wt%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. When the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract is included in the above weight range, an emulsified formulation with better formulation stability can be formed.

[0031] In one embodiment, when the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract is provided in the form of Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract*xanthan gum*pentylene glycol, the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract*xanthan gum*pentylene glycol may be included in an amount of 1.5 to 5.5 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition, and specifically, may be included in an amount of 2 to 5 wt%. When the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract*xanthan gum*pentylene glycol is included in the above weight range, an emulsified formulation with better formulation stability can be formed.

[0032]

[0033] The polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 of the present invention, when combined with a Sargassum fluitans / natans extract, can improve the stability of an emulsified formulation and maintain an appropriate viscosity to provide an excellent user experience. The inventors of the present invention have confirmed that by including both a Sargassum fluitans / natans extract and a polyacrylate crosspolymer-6, a cosmetic composition can be prepared that can stabilize an acid at a high content for a long period of time and has an appropriate viscosity for easy application.

[0034] In one embodiment, polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 may be included in an amount of 0.2 to 1.2 wt%, and specifically 0.2 to 1 wt%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. When the polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 is included in the above weight range, an emulsified formulation having an appropriate viscosity and superior formulation stability can be formed.

[0035]

[0036] In one embodiment, the acid may include at least one selected from the group consisting of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), Poly Hydroxy Acid (PHA), and Lipo Hydroxy Acid (LHA). The acid is a component for imparting a sebum and dead skin cell removal effect, and when two or more selected from the group consisting of AHA, BHA, PHA, and LHA are included, a more excellent sebum and dead skin cell removal effect can be exhibited.

[0037] In one embodiment, the acid may be included in an amount of 9 wt% or less, specifically 8 wt% or less, and more specifically 6.5 wt% or less, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. As in the above weight range, the cosmetic composition of the present invention can stabilize the acid in a high content of up to 9 wt%, thereby exhibiting excellent sebum and dead skin cell removal effects.

[0038] In one embodiment, the AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is a water-soluble acid and may include at least one selected from the group consisting of glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, citric acid, malic acid, hydroxycaprylic acid, and tartaric acid, but is not limited thereto. The AHA is excellent for sun-damaged or thick, dry skin, and can play a role in removing dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin. AHA plays a role in easily exfoliating dead skin cells to create a clean and smooth skin texture, and accordingly, the stratum corneum becomes thinner, which can have the effect of activating the regenerative activity of epidermal cells.

[0039] In one embodiment, the AHA may be included in an amount of up to 9 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition.

[0040] In one embodiment, the BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) is a fat-soluble acid, including but not limited to salicylic acid. The BHA penetrates the sebum in pores and promotes the exfoliation of accumulated skin cells within the sebaceous glands, thereby removing blackheads. It also penetrates the skin through sebaceous cysts, making it particularly effective for oily and acne-prone skin.

[0041] In one embodiment, BHA may be included in an amount of up to 9 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition, but is not limited thereto. Additionally, betaine salicylate may be used as a salt of the BHA. In one embodiment, betaine salicylate may be included in an amount of up to 9 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition.

[0042] In one embodiment, the PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acid) is a water-soluble acid that may include at least one of gluconolactone and lactobionic acid, but is not limited thereto. The PHA is a hypoallergenic peeling ingredient that has a similar effect to AHA, but has a larger molecular structure than AHA, allowing it to remain on the skin for a longer time, thereby reducing side effects related to skin irritation.

[0043] In one embodiment, the PHA may be included in an amount of up to 9 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition.

[0044] In one embodiment, the LHA (Lipo Hydroxy Acid) may include, but is not limited to, capryloyl salicylic acid. LHA has a gentle, limited effect on the upper layer of the stratum corneum, and because it is more fat-soluble than beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), it slowly penetrates the skin and exhibits an effective exfoliating effect even at low concentrations. In particular, LHA has excellent photoprotection properties, including protection against UV-induced damage, and increases collagen formation.

[0045] In one embodiment, LHA may be included in an amount of up to 9 wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition.

[0046]

[0047] In one embodiment, the cosmetic composition of the present invention may further include an oil. The oil may be included as a component included in the oil phase of an emulsified formulation such as an oil-in-water (O / W) or water-in-oil (W / O) formulation to form an emulsified formulation. The oil may be used without limitation as long as it is a component that can be generally used in the art. For example, the oil may be selected from silicone oils, hydrocarbon oils, and ester oils. In addition, examples of the silicone oil include at least one selected from cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, disiloxane, methyl trimethicone, and dimethicone; examples of the hydrocarbon oil include at least one selected from isododecane and isohexadecane; and examples of the ester oil include at least one selected from dibutyl adipate, isopropyl palmitate, and diisopropyl sebacate. However, the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0048] In one embodiment, the oil may be included in an amount of 25 wt% or less, specifically 20 wt% or less, and more specifically 10 wt% or less, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. Inclusion of the oil in the above weight range may be appropriate for forming a stable emulsified formulation.

[0049]

[0050] The cosmetic composition of the present invention may have a certain level of viscosity. In one embodiment, the cosmetic composition of the present invention may have a viscosity of 2,000 to 8,000 cP. The cosmetic composition of the present invention has viscosity by optimally including the type and amount of a thickening agent, and has a formulation characteristic suitable for spreading on the skin without clumping.

[0051] A cosmetic composition according to an embodiment of the present invention may further include a moisturizer. In an embodiment, the moisturizer is a substance for reducing skin irritation caused by a high content of acid components, and is preferably a water-soluble component such as a polyol. For example, the moisturizer may include at least one selected from the group consisting of glycerin, panthenol, allantoin, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, dipropylene glycol, methylpropanediol, glycerin, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, and sorbitol, but is not limited thereto.

[0052] In addition to the above components, the cosmetic composition according to the present invention may further include components included in general cosmetic compositions, such as preservatives, functional ingredients, ion sequestering agents, bactericides, pH regulators, antioxidants, alcohols, neutralizers, solubilizers, plant extracts, fragrances, cooling agents, and additives. The blending amounts of the above components are not particularly limited, and can be easily selected by those skilled in the art within a range that does not impair the purpose and effects of the present invention.

[0053]

[0054] In one embodiment, the cosmetic composition may be an emulsified formulation, specifically an oil-in-water (O / W) or water-in-oil (W / O) formulation, and more specifically an oil-in-water formulation. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the cosmetic composition may be prepared in any formulation commonly prepared in the technical field to which the present invention pertains. For example, the cosmetic composition may be formulated in the form of a solubilized formulation, an aqueous dispersion formulation dispersed in water, an emulsion formulation of the water-in-oil-in-water (W / O / W) and oil-in-water-in-oil (O / W / O) type, etc. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the composition may also be provided in various formulations such as a solution, a suspension, an emulsion, a solid, a gel, an oil, a powder, a paste or foam, an aerosol, a mist, etc.

[0055]

[0056] In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a cosmetic for exfoliation comprising a cosmetic composition according to the present invention is provided. The cosmetic composition according to the present invention contains a high amount of an acid such as AHA, BHA, PHA, or LHA, and has an excellent effect in removing sebum, dead skin cells, and residual waste.

[0057] The cosmetic composition of the present invention can be manufactured into any formulation commonly manufactured in the art, for example, it can be formulated into a solution, suspension, emulsion, paste, gel, cream, lotion, powder, soap, surfactant-containing cleanser, oil, and spray and mask pack, and specifically, it can be formulated into a viscous gel, pack or cream, but is not limited thereto.

[0058]

[0059] Hereinafter, examples and experimental examples are presented to explain the present invention more specifically, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0060]

[0061] Experimental Example 1. Comparative experiment according to the inclusion of two or more thickeners

[0062] (1) Manufacture of examples and comparative examples

[0063] Examples and comparative examples of emulsified formulations according to the present invention were prepared using the ingredients listed in Table 1 below. Specifically, the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract used was Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract*xanthan gum*pentylene glycol (Seabalance 2000 from Carbonwave), which contains about 85 wt% of the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract. The unit in Table 1 is wt%.

[0064]

[0065]

[0066] The specific manufacturing method is as follows.

[0067] First, the acid, polyol, and purified water were dispersed in a beaker, and then the thickener was added to the beaker for dispersion. The oil was added to a separate beaker and heated to 75°C for dispersion. Then, the dispersed oil was added to the beaker containing the acid, polyol, purified water, and thickener, and emulsified using a HOMOMIXER at 6000 RPM for 5 minutes. Finally, the emulsified mixture was defoamed and cooled to 35°C to complete the examples and comparative examples of the emulsified formulation.

[0068]

[0069] (2) Evaluation of usability and formulation stability

[0070] Evaluations of usability and formulation stability were conducted for the above examples and comparative examples.

[0071] For the usability evaluation, 10 expert evaluators were asked to apply examples or comparative examples to their skin. They were then asked to comprehensively evaluate whether the formulation applied smoothly without excessive dripping, etc., using a 5-point scale from 0 to 5. Scores closer to 5 indicate superior usability.

[0072] For the formulation stability evaluation, manufactured examples and comparative examples were stored for one month under high temperature (50°C), room temperature (25°C), low temperature (5°C), and high-to-low temperature cycle conditions, and comprehensively evaluated to see whether the emulsified formulation remained stable as immediately after manufacture, whether the slightly acidic pH was maintained, and whether the appropriate viscosity was maintained. A pH meter was used for pH measurement, and a RHEOMETER was used for viscosity measurement.

[0073] The evaluation results using the above evaluation method are shown in Table 2 below.

[0074]

[0075]

[0076] According to Table 2 above, Example 1, which includes both types of thickeners of the present invention, was confirmed to have stably formed an emulsified formulation and to have the same acidity (pH) as immediately after manufacturing even after one month of storage. In addition, Example 1 was confirmed to have an appropriate viscosity and to have an excellent feel when used. On the other hand, Comparative Example 1, which does not include Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract, did not form an emulsified formulation itself, and thus the acidity was not measured, and a significantly thin formulation was implemented, causing the formulation to flow excessively and resulting in a poor feel when used. Comparative Example 2, which does not include polyacrylate crosspolymer-6, was confirmed to have formed an emulsified formulation and to have an excellent feel when used, but to have a significantly high pH decrease, and to not maintain a weakly acidic formulation. In addition, Comparative Example 3, which included diutan gum instead of sargassum fluitans / natans extract, showed a significant decrease in pH, and the weakly acidic formulation was not maintained. The viscosity was also observed to decrease over time, and it was confirmed that the excessively slippery feeling was poor.

[0077] Therefore, it was confirmed that including both of the two or more thickening agents of the present invention is an important component in implementing a cosmetic composition capable of stabilizing a high content of acid.

[0078]

[0079] Experimental Example 2. Comparative Experiment According to the Content of Two or More Thickeners and Acids

[0080] (1) Manufacture of examples and comparative examples

[0081] In order to confirm the optimal content of two or more thickeners in implementing the present invention, the total content of Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract*xanthan gum*pentylene glycol, polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 or acid was changed as shown in Table 3 below, and the remaining components and contents were the same, thereby producing examples and comparative examples in the same manner as Experimental Example 1. While changing the total content of the acid, the weight ratio of the components of the five acids included in Example 1 was kept the same. The unit of Table 3 is weight%.

[0082]

[0083]

[0084] (2) Evaluation of usability and formulation stability

[0085] For the above examples and comparative examples, the usability and formulation stability were evaluated using the same method as in Experimental Example 1, and the results are shown in Table 4 below. In addition, Figure 1 shows a photograph of Comparative Example 4 in which a phase separation phenomenon was confirmed.

[0086]

[0087]

[0088] According to Table 4 above, Examples 2 to 6, which included both the two thickeners and acids of the present invention in appropriate amounts, stably formed emulsified formulations and were confirmed to have the same acidity (pH) as immediately after manufacturing even after one month of storage. In addition, Examples 2 to 3 had a slightly higher viscosity than Example 1, and thus received a slightly lower usability score than Example 1, but were confirmed to still exhibit excellent usability, and Examples 4 to 6 were confirmed to have an appropriate viscosity and very excellent usability. On the other hand, Comparative Example 4, which included a less than appropriate amount of Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract, formed an emulsified formulation, but oil separation was observed upon one-month storage, and the formulation flowed excessively due to its significantly low viscosity, resulting in poor usability. Comparative Example 5, which contained the Sargassum fluitans / Natans extract in greater amounts than the optimal amount, produced a formulation and stably achieved a slightly acidic pH, but had a very high viscosity, resulting in poor usability and poor application. Comparative Example 6, which contained polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 in less amounts than the optimal amount, produced a formulation with excellent usability and emulsification stability, but the pH decreased significantly after long-term storage, leading to increased skin irritation, and it was confirmed that the acid was not stabilized within the formulation. Comparative Example 7, which contained the polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 in greater amounts than the optimal amount, produced a formulation and stably achieved a slightly acidic pH, but had a poor usability and poor application. In addition, Comparative Example 8, which contained the acid in greater amounts than the optimal amount, had a low pH after one month of storage, resulting in high skin irritation when applied, and it was confirmed that the viscosity decreased significantly, leading to poor formulation stability.

[0089] Accordingly, it was confirmed that including two or more types of thickeners and acids of the present invention in appropriate amounts is an important component in implementing a cosmetic composition capable of stabilizing high acid content.

[0090]

[0091] Experimental Example 3. Comparative experiment according to oil content

[0092] (1) Manufacture of examples and comparative examples

[0093] In order to determine the optimal oil content for implementing the emulsion formulation of the present invention, the oil content was varied as shown in Table 5 below, while the remaining components and their contents were kept the same, and examples and comparative examples were prepared in the same manner as Experimental Example 1. The units in Table 5 are weight%.

[0094]

[0095]

[0096] (2) Evaluation of usability and formulation stability

[0097] For the above examples and comparative examples, the usability and formulation stability were evaluated using the same method as in Experimental Example 1, and the results are shown in Table 6 below.

[0098]

[0099]

[0100] According to Table 6 above, Examples 7 to 9, which contained all oils in the appropriate amounts, were confirmed to have stably formed emulsified formulations and to have the same acidity (pH) as immediately after manufacturing even after one month of storage. In addition, Examples 7 to 9 were confirmed to have achieved an appropriate viscosity and to have excellent usability. On the other hand, Comparative Example 9, which contained oil in excess of the appropriate amount, was confirmed to have achieved an emulsified formulation, but the oil was found to separate after one month of storage, and it was confirmed that a stable emulsified formulation could not be maintained for a long period of time.

[0101] Therefore, it was confirmed that including oil in an appropriate amount is an important component in implementing a cosmetic composition in an emulsion formulation capable of stabilizing high acid content.

[0102]

[0103] While specific aspects of the present invention have been described in detail above, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these specific descriptions merely represent preferred embodiments and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the substantial scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
