Abstract

A multifunctional, wearable bag for warming a user's hands and head while simultaneously providing storage pockets for personal items may include a bag body including at least one arm channel extending therein; a strap having a first end and a second end, wherein each of the first end and the second end are attached to the bag body, creating a loop; and a hood operatively attached to the strap, the hood sized to cover a user's head. The bag may also include at least one, such as a plurality of, storage pockets built into or attached to the bag body.

[0004] The embodiments herein relate generally to garments and bags, and more particularly, to a multifunctional, wearable bag with securable and un-securable pockets for warming and securing hands and other personal items, wherein the bag also includes a wearable hood.

[0005] Carrying a bag leaves ones hands and arms exposed to nature’s elements and fails to provide a place to warm a user’s hands. Existing hand muffs do not provide securable pockets for safely holding items. Most bags and muffs also fail to include a head warming feature, such as a hood, that can be used simultaneously with the hand warming and item holding features.

[0006] Therefore, what is a wearable bag including a kangaroo pocket for the hands and a hidden hood built into the strap, wherein the bag also includes a closure mechanism to close the kangaroo pocket and additional closeable pockets for storing various items.

[0016] More specifically, and as shown in the Figures, the bag body may be an elongate shape, wherein the arm channel may extend through an entire length of the bag body. The arm channel may be sized to accommodate insertion of a user’s hands, wrists, and / or forearms therein. As mentioned above, each of the openings to the arm channel may include a closure mechanism, such as a zipper, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, snaps, clips, or the like, such that the arm channel may be used to securely store personal items when a user does not have his or her hands or arms positioned therein. In other embodiments, the bag body may comprise a pair of arm channels, wherein each arm channel extends from a respective end to a location proximate to the central portion of the bag body. In other words, the arms channels may not extend fully through the bag body, but rather may be two separate pockets or channels, each sized to accommodate insertion of one hand therein.

[0017] As mentioned above, the bag may include a strap with a hood attached thereto. In embodiments, the hood may be temporarily or permanently attached to the strap. For example, the strap may comprise a pocket built therein, wherein a hood is sewn or otherwise attached to an interior of the pocket and may extend outwards from the pocket to be used by a user. As such, the hood may be hidden or concealed when not in use. The strap may be permanently or removably attached to the bag body using any known attachment means. [0018] As shown in the Figures and as described above, the bag may comprise at least one storage pocket built into the bag body. Each of the pockets may optionally include a closure device, such as a zipper, hook and loop fastener, or the like such that each pocket may be able to be securely closed.

[0019] The bag of the present disclosure may be made using any desired materials, such as coton knit material filled with polyfil. The bag may have varying dimensions to accommodate differently sized people and larger or smaller personal items. In some embodiments, the strap may have an adjustable length.

[0020] To use the bag of the present disclosure, a user may simply place the strap around his or her neck. If desired, the hood may be placed on the user’s head. Alternatively, the hood may be concealed within the pocket in the strap. If desired, the user may insert his or her hands into the at least one arm channel. Personal items may be stored in the various pockets.
