Description

Water-in-oil cosmetic composition for UV protection comprising a water-soluble UV blocking agent and an oil-soluble UV blocking agent

[0001] This invention relates to a cosmetic composition for blocking ultraviolet rays and a method for manufacturing the same.

[0002] Ultraviolet rays contained in sunlight are classified into UVC (100–290 nm), UVB (290–320 nm), and UVA (290–320 nm). Among these, UVC is almost completely absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere, while UVB and UVA reach the ground. UVA penetrates deep into the dermis, activating free radicals and damaging collagen and elastic fibers within the skin, thereby forming wrinkles and accelerating skin aging. UVB penetrates the epidermis and causes skin conditions such as redness and skin tumors.

[0003] Various sun care products or UV protection products have been released to prevent such skin damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Among them, sun care products containing oil-soluble ingredients generally appear as white emulsion formulations. However, in order to secure a high UV protection factor of SPF40, PA+++ or higher, the content of oil-soluble ingredients inevitably increases, resulting in a characteristically heavy and oily texture.

[0004] Therefore, there is a need to develop cosmetics with a moisture-rich formulation that improves upon the heavy feel of existing sun care products.

[0005] One aspect provides a cosmetic composition for UV protection comprising: an aqueous phase comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible UV-blocking substance; and an oil phase comprising an oil-soluble UV-blocking substance and a silicone-based emulsifier.

[0006] Another aspect provides a method for preparing a cosmetic composition for UV protection, comprising: an aqueous phase comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible UV-blocking substance; and an oil phase comprising an oil-soluble UV-blocking substance and a silicone-based emulsifier.

[0007] One aspect provides a cosmetic composition for UV protection comprising: an aqueous phase comprising a water-soluble or water-dispersible UV-blocking substance; and an oil phase comprising an oil-soluble UV-blocking substance and a silicone-based emulsifier.

When the hardness of the composition of Example 1 was measured using a texture analyzer, it was measured to be 40 gf (gram-force).

[0078]

[0079] Experimental Example 4. Confirmation of UV blocking ability according to difference in content

[0080] In this experimental example, the optimal content ranges of polysilicon-15, drometrizole trisiloxane, phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid, and terephthalidendicampersulfonic acid were determined. Specifically, a cosmetic composition was prepared according to the method of the example in Preparation Example 1 with the composition of Table 2 below, and the in vivo SPF was measured based on the ISO 24442:2022 method.

[0081] Classification Ingredient Name Example 2A (WH) Example 2B (WH) Example 2C (WH) Comparative Example 2A (WH) Comparative Example 2B (WH) Comparative Example 2C (WH) Oil Phase Polysilicon-15575365 Drometrizole Trisiloxane 535333 Cyclopentasiloxane 999131011 PEG-10 Dimethicone 111111 Aqueous Phase Purified Water 41.243.244.249.234.245.2 Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid 344183 Terephthalilyliden Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid (33% w / w aqueous solution) 12986148 Tromethamine 3.83.83.83.83.83.83.8 Glycerin 202020202020 in vivo SPF 43.6 46.2 56.3 22.95-36.3

[0082]

[0083] As shown in Table 2, Comparative Example 2A exhibited the lowest UV protection effect with an SPF of 22.95 due to the lowest content of oil and water phase UV protection ingredients, whereas Examples 2A and 2B showed excellent UV protection effects with SPFs of 43.6 and 46.2, respectively. In particular, Example 2C demonstrated the best UV protection efficacy with an SPF of 56.3 through the optimal combination of oil phase components polysilicon-15 and drometrizole trisiloxane and water phase components phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid and terephthalidendicampersulfonic acid. On the other hand, it was impossible to measure the UV protection index of Comparative Example 2B because formulation implementation was impossible, and Comparative Example 2C showed a relatively lower UV protection efficacy of SPF 36.3 compared to Example 2C. Through these results, it was confirmed that the composition of the examples of the present invention, particularly Example 2C, is the optimal composition that satisfies both formulation stability and UV protection efficacy.

[0084]

[0085] Experimental Example 5. Confirmation of Optimal Emulsifier

[0086] In this experimental example, the optimal emulsifier that can be used in the cosmetic composition of the example was identified. Specifically, cosmetic compositions were prepared according to the preparation method of the example of Preparation Example 1 with the composition of Table 3 below, and the feasibility of realizing the formulation was evaluated.
