LDO circuit and method for increasing load transient response speed

By introducing a speed-up module into the LDO circuit, the problem of unstable output during load switching is solved, achieving faster transient response and more stable output voltage control, thus improving the circuit's response speed and stability during light and heavy load switching.

Abstract

Disclosed in the present invention are an LDO circuit and method for increasing a load transient response speed. The LDO circuit comprises amplifiers, an internal circuit, an input end, and an output end, and an input voltage VIN, a first reference voltage VR, a second reference voltage Vref, and an output voltage VOUT are configured, wherein the amplifiers and the internal circuit are connected to the input end and the output end, the input end is connected to the input voltage, and the output end is connected to an external load. The LDO circuit further comprises a first speed-enhancement module connected between the amplifiers, and a second speed-enhancement module connected between an amplifier and the internal circuit. When the external load undergoes switching, the amplifiers and the first speed-enhancement module jointly output signals to the internal circuit to control the output voltage to counteract voltage undershoot, or the amplifiers, the first speed-enhancement module and the second speed-enhancement module jointly output signals to the internal circuit to control the output voltage to counteract voltage overshoot.
