Abstract
A system for generating steam in a coffee machine is described, the system comprising: (a) a boiler containing water which is heated to a first liquid state temperature and which is at a first liquid state pressure; (b) a superheater for increasing the temperature of the water from the first liquid state temperature to a second liquid state temperature while maintaining a pressure substantially equal to the first liquid state pressure; (c) an evaporator comprising an evaporator inlet and an evaporator outlet; (d) a pressure reducer connected to the evaporator inlet, the pressure reducer being configured to receive the water exiting the superheater and to introduce into the evaporator the fluid exiting the pressure reducer.
