Description

A dyeing and finishing method for cotton and wool blended fabrics Technical Field

[0001] This application relates to the field of textile fabric technology, and in particular to a dyeing and finishing method for cotton-wool blended fabrics, and especially to a dyeing and finishing method for improving the shrinkage of cotton-wool blended fabrics. Background Technology

[0002] Wool is a natural protein fiber with advantages such as softness, elasticity, good hand feel, and excellent warmth. Wool products have good moisture absorption, warmth, and skin-friendliness, and high-end suits, trousers, and other garments are made from wool. However, due to the characteristics of wool and the presence of its scale layer, wool fibers have a special felting property. During washing, they are prone to shrinkage and deformation after absorbing water, and the friction between the scales and other fibers can easily cause felting, leading to pilling and fuzzing after wear. Cotton fabrics are composed of plant fibers. When the fabric is soaked, water molecules penetrate the cotton fibers, causing them to swell. When the weft (or radial) direction of the fabric swells and coarsens, the fabric shrinks.

[0003] Shrinkage of wool and cotton fabrics is a common problem, mainly due to the inherent properties of wool and cotton fibers and the effects of processing during the textile process. However, high temperatures can scorch wool scales or cotton fabrics, making high-temperature treatment, high-temperature setting, and wrinkle-free processes impossible, resulting in a lack of warmth and a smooth, delicate finish. Therefore, to improve the shrinkage of cotton-wool blended fabrics, researchers have developed low-shrinkage treatment methods. For example, CN106988072A discloses a low-shrinkage treatment method and finishing method for high-elasticity fabrics. This method involves adding a loose wash (low-tension wash) after pre-shrinking, followed by dewatering, opening, drying, and then re-pre-shrinking. This adds several steps between the two pre-shrinking processes, and the washing process generates a significant amount of wastewater, severely increasing production and treatment costs.

[0004] CN110016769A discloses a low-shrinkage processing method and post-processing method and apparatus, which adopts a continuous low-shrinkage processing process. Current equipment cannot complete the processes described in the solution on a single machine, requiring the purchase of new equipment, which increases equipment costs and has limited effect on shrinkage. There is still considerable room for improvement.

[0005] Therefore, for cotton-wool blended fabrics, how to develop a dyeing and finishing method that can improve the shrinkage rate while ensuring a simple dyeing and finishing process with low equipment requirements and low processing costs is an urgent problem to be solved in this field. Summary of the Invention

[0006] The following is an overview of the subject matter described in detail herein. This overview is not intended to limit the scope of the claims.

[0007] To address the aforementioned technical problems, this application provides a dyeing and finishing method for cotton-wool blended fabrics, which significantly improves the shrinkage problem of such fabrics and makes the fabric fluffy, dense, and less prone to shedding. Moreover, the dyeing and finishing method has a simple operation process and low equipment requirements, providing a reference for the dyeing and finishing process of a large number of wool and / or cotton products.

[0008] To achieve this objective, the following technical solution is adopted in this application:

[0009] This application provides a dyeing and finishing method for cotton-wool blended fabrics, the dyeing and finishing method comprising dyeing, napping, pelletizing and setting the cotton-wool blended fabric blank in sequence to obtain the finished fabric.

[0010] The dyeing and finishing method described in this application targets cotton-wool blended fabric blanks. Based on traditional dyeing, napping, and setting processes, a pelletizing process is added between the napping and setting processes. The synergistic effect of these processes significantly improves the shrinkage of cotton-wool blended fabrics. The pelletizing process: on the one hand, stretches and relaxes the fibers in the cotton-wool blended fabric blank to a certain extent, releasing the internal stress accumulated in the fabric blank during the early processing, thereby reducing shrinkage; on the other hand, the fibers intertwine and clump together, forming a stable structure that restricts the free movement of fibers in subsequent processing, thus reducing the possibility of shrinkage; it also makes the fabric fibers more evenly distributed in the fabric, helping to improve the overall stability of the fabric, thereby reducing shrinkage.

[0011] It is worth noting that the dyeing and finishing method described in this application does not impose any restrictions on the proportion of wool and cotton in the cotton-wool blended fabric. It can be pure cotton, pure wool, or a blend of wool and cotton in any proportion. It can also be a blend of cotton, wool and other fabric components. Preferably, it is 60% to 80% cotton (e.g., 60%, 65%, 70%, 75% or 80%) and 20% to 40% wool (e.g., 20%, 25%, 30% or 40%).

[0012] In one embodiment, the ratio of cotton-wool blended fabric blank to dyeing solution during the dyeing process is 1:(10-15), for example, it can be 1:10, 1:11, 1:12, 1:13, 1:14 or 1:15, etc.

[0013] It is worth noting that, considering the stress issues of cotton-wool blended fabrics during dyeing and finishing, the dyeing described in this application is carried out in a high-temperature overflow dyeing machine (a model with high liquor ratio, low tension, and a pull-down roller that is not prone to wrinkling). This can effectively reduce the tension of the fabric during the dyeing process, keeping the fabric in a relaxed state, preventing fiber elongation, plastic deformation, and fabric shrinkage.

[0014] In one embodiment, the dyeing solution includes a yellow reactive dye, a red reactive dye, a blue reactive dye, anhydrous sodium sulfate, and sodium carbonate.

[0015] In one embodiment, the dyeing solution comprises 0.1wt% to 0.5wt% yellow reactive dye, 0.1wt% to 0.5wt% red reactive dye, 0.1wt% to 2wt% blue reactive dye, 5 to 20 g / L anhydrous sodium sulfate, and 5 to 15 g / L sodium carbonate.

[0016] The composition includes 0.1 wt% to 0.5 wt% of yellow reactive dye, such as 0.1 wt%, 0.2 wt%, 0.3 wt%, 0.4 wt%, or 0.5 wt%; 0.1 wt% to 0.5 wt% of red reactive dye, such as 0.1 wt%, 0.2 wt%, 0.3 wt%, 0.4 wt%, or 0.5 wt%; and 0.1 wt% to 2 wt% of blue reactive dye, such as 0.1 wt% to 2 wt% of... % , 0.5wt%, 0.8wt%, 1wt%, 1.2wt%, 1.5wt%, 1.8wt%, or 2wt%, etc.; 5-20 g / L anhydrous sodium sulfate, for example, 5 g / L, 8 g / L, 10 g / L, 12 g / L, 15 g / L, 18 g / L, or 20 g / L, etc.; 5-15 g / L sodium carbonate, for example, 5 g / L, 8 g / L, 10 g / L, 12 g / L, or 15 g / L, etc.

[0017] It is worth noting that the yellow reactive dye used in this application is Yageerzol Fast Yellow HF-NP, the red reactive dye is Yageerzol Fast Red BF-RL, and the blue reactive dye is Yageerzol Fast Blue HF-BR, but it is not limited to these; other dyes of the same color may also be used.

[0018] In one embodiment, the staining temperature is 60-65°C, for example, it can be 60°C, 61°C, 62°C, 63°C, 64°C or 65°C.

[0019] In one embodiment, the staining time is 30 to 60 minutes, for example, 30 minutes, 35 minutes, 40 minutes, 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 55 minutes, or 60 minutes.

[0020] This application further prefers that the dyeing temperature be 60-65℃ and the time be 30-60 minutes. On the basis of ensuring uniform dyeing, it prevents the internal structure of the cotton-wool blended fabric from changing too much due to excessive temperature or time, which would increase the elastic deformation of the fibers. When the fabric comes into contact with water, the elastic deformation will recover, resulting in shrinkage.

[0021] In one embodiment, after dyeing, the dyed cotton-wool blended fabric blank is first softened before the napping is performed.

[0022] This application further preferably describes the process of first softening the dyed cotton-wool blended fabric blank after dyeing and then performing the napping. The softening process can, on the one hand, improve the relatively stiff feel of the cotton-wool blended fabric blank after washing; on the other hand, it can make the cotton-wool blended fabric blank smooth, thereby alleviating the shrinkage of the fabric; in addition, the softener can also act as a napping agent, thereby ensuring the stability of the subsequent napping process.

[0023] In one embodiment, the softening treatment uses a softener including CMK-815A softener (Kunshan Mingjia Additives Co., Ltd.).

[0024] In one embodiment, the softening treatment uses a softener with a mass concentration of 1.0% to 3.0%, for example, 1.0%, 1.5%, 1.8%, 2.0%, 2.2%, 2.5%, 2.8%, or 3.0%.

[0025] In one embodiment, the fabric feeding speed during the napping process is 10-15 m / min, for example, it can be 10 m / min, 11 m / min, 12 m / min, 13 m / min, 14 m / min or 15 m / min, etc.

[0026] In one embodiment, the fabric output speed during the napping process is 2 to 5 m / min, for example, it can be 2 m / min, 2.5 m / min, 3 m / min, 3.5 m / min, 4 m / min, 4.5 m / min or 5 m / min, etc.

[0027] In one embodiment, the tension of the cotton-wool blended fabric blank during the napping process is 1 to 3 N, for example, it can be 1 N, 1.5 N, 2 N, 2.5 N or 3 N.

[0028] This application further preferably specifies that the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during the napping process is 1-3N, ensuring that the fibers are not excessively stretched or compressed, reducing damage to the fibers, and thus reducing the shrinkage rate. If the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during the napping process is too high, the fibers will be overstretched and in a high strain state, resulting in an increased shrinkage rate when exposed to water. If the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during the napping process is too low, the fabric structure will be loose, making it easier to shrink after being exposed to water.

[0029] In one embodiment, the proportion of straight needles during the brushing process is 1% to 1.8%, for example, it can be 1%, 1.2%, 1.4%, 1.6% or 1.8%; the proportion of curved needles is 0% to 1.2%, for example, it can be 0%, 0.2%, 0.5%, 0.8%, 1% or 1.2% etc.

[0030] In one embodiment, the roller speed of the napping machine during napping is 150-155 m / min, for example, it can be 150 m / min, 151 m / min, 152 m / min, 153 m / min, 154 m / min or 155 m / min, etc.

[0031] In one embodiment, the shaking process includes sequentially subjecting the napped cotton-wool blended fabric blank to steam heating, hot air drying, and cold air cooling.

[0032] In one embodiment, the steam temperature for steam heating is 80-100°C, for example, it can be 80°C, 85°C, 90°C, 95°C or 100°C.

[0033] In one embodiment, the steam heating time is 5 to 8 minutes, for example, 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 7 minutes or 8 minutes.

[0034] This application further preferably uses a steam temperature of 80–100°C and a steam heating time of 5–8 minutes, which is beneficial for improving the firmness and fluffiness of the granulation and improving the shrinkage problem of the fabric. If the steam temperature is too low or the steam heating time is too short, the granulation effect will be unsatisfactory, the fibers will not be sufficiently relaxed and fixed, and the shrinkage problem will still be difficult to solve. If the steam temperature is too high or the steam heating time is too long, it will cause fiber damage, thereby affecting the hand feel and softness, and the fibers may be over-relaxed, which will increase the risk of shrinkage.

[0035] In one embodiment, the hot air temperature for hot air drying is 70-80°C, for example, it can be 70°C, 72°C, 75°C, 78°C or 80°C.

[0036] In one embodiment, the hot air drying is performed 4 to 6 times, for example, 4, 5 or 6 times, and the drying time for each time is 5 to 10 minutes, for example, 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 7 minutes, 8 minutes, 9 minutes or 10 minutes.

[0037] In one embodiment, the temperature of the cold air used for cooling is 30-40°C, for example, it can be 30°C, 32°C, 35°C, 38°C or 40°C.

[0038] In one embodiment, the cooling time is 8 to 15 minutes, for example, 8 minutes, 9 minutes, 10 minutes, 11 minutes, 12 minutes, 13 minutes, 14 minutes, or 15 minutes.

[0039] In one embodiment, the setting is performed in a stencil setting machine.

[0040] In one embodiment, the shaping temperature is 120-140°C, for example, it can be 120°C, 125°C, 130°C, 135°C or 140°C.

[0041] In one embodiment, the fixed vehicle speed is 15 to 20 m / min, for example, it can be 15 m / min, 16 m / min, 17 m / min, 18 m / min, 19 m / min or 20 m / min, etc.

[0042] In one embodiment, the overfeed ratio during shaping is 10% to 15%, for example, it can be 10%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14%, or 15%, etc.

[0043] In one embodiment, the process of setting includes adding a conditioning acid to the cotton-wool blended fabric blank after the spinning process.

[0044] The purpose of adding adjusting acid as described in this application is to neutralize the alkali in the dyeing solution and to make the pH of the finished fabric meet the pH requirements (4-7.5).

[0045] In one embodiment, the regulating acid includes Sirrix NE liq (Ango Chemical (China) Co., Ltd.).

[0046] In one embodiment, the added mass concentration of the adjusting acid is 0.01 to 5%, for example, it can be 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, or 5%, etc.

[0047] As an optional technical solution in this application, the dyeing and finishing method includes the following steps:

[0048] The cotton-wool blend fabric blank is first dyed at 60-65℃ and a liquor ratio of 1:(10-15) for 30-60 minutes; then softened with a softener at a mass concentration of 1.0%-3.0%; subsequently, it is napped at a feed speed of 10-15 m / min and an output speed of 2-5 m / min; during napping, the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank is 1-3 N, the straight needle ratio is 1-1.8%, the curved needle ratio is 0-1.2%, and the roller speed of the napping machine is 150-155 m / min; then the napped cotton-wool blend fabric is further processed. The raw fabric is subjected to a granulation process, which includes first heating with steam at a temperature of 80-100°C for 5-8 minutes, then drying with hot air at 70-80°C 4-6 times, with each drying cycle lasting 5-10 minutes, followed by cooling with cold air at 30-40°C for 8-15 minutes. A regulating acid with a mass concentration of 0.01%-5% is added to the granulated cotton-wool blended fabric raw material. Finally, the finished fabric is obtained by setting under conditions of 120-140°C, a machine speed of 15-20 m / min, and an overfeed ratio of 10%-15%.

[0049] Compared with the prior art, this application has at least the following beneficial effects:

[0050] The dyeing and finishing method for cotton-wool blended fabrics provided in this application adds a pilling process between the traditional dyeing, napping, and setting processes. This allows the cotton-wool blended fabric to be pre-shrinked before setting, resulting in a more stable fiber structure and release of internal stress. In synergy with other processes, it improves the shrinkage phenomenon of cotton-wool blended fabrics, with a lateral shrinkage rate as low as -1.0% and a vertical shrinkage rate as low as -3.2%, where "-" indicates shrinkage. It also makes the fabric fluffy and dense but less prone to pilling, providing a reference for the dyeing and finishing of large quantities of wool and / or cotton products.

[0051] After reading and understanding the detailed description, other aspects can be understood. Detailed Implementation

[0085] II. Comparative Example

[0086] Comparative Example 1

[0087] This comparative example provides a dyeing and finishing method for cotton-wool blended fabrics, which is the same as that in Example 1 except that the granulation process is omitted.

[0088] III. Tests and Results

[0089] According to the ISO 6330 shrinkage test method, the shrinkage rate of the finished fabrics obtained in the above examples and comparative examples was tested (washed twice and hung dry), and the shrinkage rate (including transverse shrinkage and longitudinal shrinkage) was calculated. The results are shown in Table 1.

[0090] Table 1 Note: In Table 1, "-" indicates contraction.

[0091] The data in Table 1 shows that:

[0092] (1) As can be seen from Examples 1 to 3, this application, by dyeing, napping, spinning and setting the cotton-wool blended fabric blank in sequence, with the synergistic effect of each process, makes the transverse shrinkage rate of the finished fabric as low as -1.0% ("-" represents shrinkage) and the vertical shrinkage rate as low as -3.2% ("-" represents shrinkage), thus solving the problem that cotton-wool blended fabrics are prone to shrinkage when exposed to water.

[0093] (2) Based on the combined results of Examples 1, 4 and 5, it can be seen that the dyeing temperature in Example 4 was too low, resulting in uneven dyeing and the finished product color did not meet the production requirements; the dyeing temperature in Example 5 was too high, resulting in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric increasing to -4% and the longitudinal shrinkage increasing to -6.0%; thus, it is indicated that the dyeing temperature of this application is further preferred to be 60-65℃, which further improves the dyeing quality of the finished fabric and improves its shrinkage phenomenon.

[0094] (3) As can be seen from the combined examples 1 and 6, in Example 6, no softening treatment was performed and the fabric was directly napped after dyeing, which resulted in the lateral shrinkage of the finished fabric increasing to -6.0% and the vertical shrinkage increasing to -5.3%. This indicates that the present application further preferably adds a softening treatment between the dyeing and napping processes, which further reduces the shrinkage rate of the cotton-wool blended fabric.

[0095] (4) Combining Examples 1 and 7 to 10, in Example 7, the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during napping was too low, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -5.0% and the vertical shrinkage to -8.0%; in Example 8, the tension of the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during napping was too high, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -3.5% and the vertical shrinkage to -7.2%; in Example 9, the steam heating time during pelletizing was too long, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -2.7% and the vertical shrinkage to -6.8%; in Example 10, the steam heating time during pelletizing was too short, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -3.3% and the vertical shrinkage to -6.3%. This indicates that the present application further preferably uses a tension of 1 to 3 N for the cotton-wool blend fabric blank during napping and a steam heating time of 5 to 8 min during pelletizing, which further improves the shrinkage of the cotton-wool blend fabric.

[0096] (5) Based on the combined results of Examples 1, 11 and 12, it can be seen that the overfeed ratio during the setting process in Example 11 is too low, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -4.2% and the vertical shrinkage to -5.6%; the overfeed ratio during the setting process in Example 12 is too high, resulting in an increase in the transverse shrinkage of the finished fabric to -2.8% and the vertical shrinkage to -6.6%. This indicates that the overfeed ratio during the setting process is further preferably 10% to 15%, which further reduces the shrinkage rate.

[0097] (6) As can be seen from the combined example 1 and comparative example 1, since the shaking process was not performed in comparative example 1, the pre-shrinking was not performed before the shaping, and the cotton-wool blended fabric was not able to form a stable fiber structure. Furthermore, the internal stress of the fabric after the napping could not be released, resulting in the shrinkage phenomenon being difficult to improve. The transverse shrinkage rate increased to -7.0%, and the vertical shrinkage rate increased to -9.8%. This shows that the addition of the shaking process in this application, the pre-shrinking treatment before shaping, and the optimization of the fiber structure, reduce the internal stress, and achieve the dimensional stability of the cotton-wool blended fabric, thereby reducing its shrinkage rate.
