AI Technical Summary
Existing locking mechanisms for windows and doors, particularly those requiring keys, are prone to being forgotten or misplaced, posing risks for children and individuals with health limitations, and can be easily compromised for unauthorized access.
A locking device with a rotary gear mechanism operated via the door handle, requiring both hands to unlock and open, featuring a locking bolt and preload spring for enhanced security, and a locking slide to prevent forced entry, suitable for windows/doors with additional locking devices.
Provides enhanced security by preventing unauthorized access, especially for children and individuals with disabilities, while maintaining ease of use for authorized users, and resisting forced entry attempts.

Abstract
Description
[0001] The state of the art is evident from utility model DE202010013833U1 and patent application EP3266960A1.
[0002] The invention relates to a locking device for windows and doors made of wood and plastic with a metal core and rotary gear which is operated via the window / door handle.
[0003] Compared to the lockable window / door handles that are widespread today, the advantage is that no key is needed. Handles secured by a lock have the disadvantage that they can be forgotten or keys can be misplaced (especially by children).
[0004] The safety device and its arrangement described below have the advantage of serving as both a child safety lock and a safety measure for people with health limitations (e.g., dementia). The design makes it difficult to open the window / door from the inside, thus preventing falls from the window or escape attempts via patio doors.
[0005] The locking device is positioned on the window frame opposite the opening handle in such a way that it can only be operated with both hands. First, the locking bolt (3) is unlocked with one hand, and then the window / door is opened / closed using the handle with the other hand.
[0006] The locking device is particularly suitable for windows / doors with additional locking devices on the gear band (5) designed to increase the rigidity of the connection between the sash frame and the frame (e.g. mushroom head locking devices).
[0007] The locking bolt (3) blocks the movable part of the transmission belt (5). A preload spring (9) holds the locking bolt (3) in the locked position, requiring an axial force to be overcome.
[0008] The locking device has a locking slide (8) so that even if the sash frame (4) is drilled open from the outside along the axis of the locking bolt (3), it cannot be forced open (break-in). A further advantage is that when the window is tilted, the drive strap (5) is also blocked, making access via the tilt window considerably more difficult. One possible embodiment is shown in the drawings, which describe the following: Fig. 1 - Safety device Fig. 2 - locking bolts Fig. 3 - Safety slider Reference symbol list 1 Masonry 2 bezel frames 3 locking bolts 4 wing frames 5 movable gear belt 6 square profile gear belt 7 Mounting plate 8 safety sliders 9 Preload spring 10 Lock nuts 11 Handle 12 Mushroom head 13 Safety cap (mushroom head) 14 Window fittings
Claims
[1] Windows / doors with a safety device that blocks the moving part of a gear band (5) and has at least the following features: - the arrangement of the safety device is such that a window / door handle and a safety bolt (3) must be operated with two hands of an adult person between the middle and nearly full span of both arms and - the locking bolt (3) is secured against axial pushing out by drilling into the wing frame (4) from the outside with a locking slider (8) and a locking nut (10) and - the locking bolt (3) can be locked in a first locking position for the closed position and a second locking position for the tilted position. [2] Windows / doors with a locking device according to claim 1 characterized by , that the locking bolt (3) is designed with a spring preload (9). [3] Windows / doors with a locking device according to claim 1 characterized by , that the locking slide (8) and a mounting plate (7) are designed with a positive locking position in the locking position.
