Description

[0001] The invention relates to a shower area mounting arrangement for mounting a shower partition, comprising a retaining strip arrangement configured to be engaged at least partially with a section of a shower partition and fastened to a wall, and an LED unit for illuminating a shower area, which LED unit is fastened to the retaining strip arrangement. The invention further relates to a shower area mounting system and the use of an LED unit in a shower area mounting arrangement for illuminating a shower area.

[0002] Shower enclosure mounting arrangements of the type mentioned above are used to attach a shower enclosure to a wall, thus spatially separating a shower enclosure from the rest of the bathroom. A suitably mounted shower enclosure can be made of a translucent material, such as glass or acrylic, or of a non-translucent material, such as mineral cast. Especially in cases where the shower enclosure is not translucent, lighting can be used to illuminate the shower enclosure.

[0003] DE 20 2016 102 470 U1 discloses a stabilizing rod for attaching a shower partition to a wall, which rod has a light source. The light source is either powered by a power supply unit integrated into the stabilizing rod, such as a battery, or is connected to a network connection via supply lines that are routed to the light source via a supply opening.

[0004] Powering lamps via integrated power supply units adversely limits their operating life. However, concepts for securely connecting lamps to the power grid via a mains connection are lacking. Such lamps offer inadequate protection against splash water and water vapor, especially when connected to a mains connection. This poses a safety risk in wet areas such as showers. Areas exposed to splash water are therefore particularly challenging.

[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to increase the safety of a shower area mounting arrangement of the type mentioned above and to ensure continuous operation of the LED unit.

[0006] The invention solves the aforementioned problem in a first aspect by a shower area mounting arrangement according to claim 1. With regard to a shower area mounting arrangement described above, the invention proposes that the LED unit has a cast housing that extends in a longitudinal direction of the housing, an LED light strip for emitting light in a beam direction, which is cast into the cast housing and enclosed by the housing at least in the longitudinal direction of the housing, and a connecting cable for connection to a power supply. The holding strip arrangement has at least one LED receptacle that extends along a longitudinal direction of the strip and is configured to receive the LED unit such that the longitudinal direction of the housing runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the strip and the beam direction of the LED light strip runs orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the housing and away from the LED receptacle.

[0007] Because the LED light strip is cast into the cast housing in such a way that the LED light strip is enclosed by the cast housing in the longitudinal direction of the housing and preferably on a surface that is rearward with respect to the beam direction, the LED light strip is sealed by the cast housing. It should be understood that the LED light strip is cast into the cast housing in such a way that a media-tight connection is formed between the cast housing and the LED light strip. Preferably, the only surface not enclosed by the cast housing is a front surface of the LED unit in the beam direction, via which light is emitted in the beam direction.

[0008] Furthermore, the connecting cable enables continuous operation of the LED unit. The LED unit is housed entirely in the LED holder of the retaining strip arrangement, with the housing's longitudinal direction running parallel to the strip's longitudinal direction and the beam direction of the LED light strip orthogonal to the housing's longitudinal direction and thus away from the LED holder. This allows the emitted light to be well distributed throughout the room, providing efficient illumination of the shower area. Thus, with a shower area mounting arrangement according to the invention, the LED unit not only provides a visually appealing lighting effect, but also actually illuminates the shower area.

[0009] Further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims, which further develop the concept of the invention with regard to advantageous features within the scope of the task and with regard to further advantages.

[0010] Preferably, the connecting cable is enclosed by the cast housing, with the cast housing and / or the retaining strip arrangement preferably having a connector plug connected to the connecting cable for connection to a network connection. It should also be understood that the connector plug and / or the connecting cable enclosed by the cast housing can also be designed to be flexible to enable easy connection to a network connection. Enclosing the connecting cable in the cast housing ensures efficient protection of the connecting cable against water vapor and splash water, increasing operational reliability.

[0011] According to a preferred development, the shower area mounting arrangement comprises a diffusing element, in particular a diffusing screen, which is arranged adjacent to the LED unit in the beam direction such that the light emitted by the LED unit directly hits the diffusing screen. Light emitted by LED light strips is sometimes perceived as unpleasant, so a diffusing element provides more diffused light. This leads to a more harmonious distribution of the light emitted by the LED unit. Because the LED unit is independent of the diffusing element, the diffusing element can be retrofitted or removed as needed to accommodate individual user preferences.

[0012] It should be understood that even if a diffusing element is mounted, the beam direction refers to the direction in which the light is emitted by the LED light strip before hitting the diffusing element.

[0013] Preferably, the diffusing element engages with the retaining strip arrangement. Alternatively or additionally, the LED receptacle is closed in the beam direction by the diffusing element.

[0014] The diffuser element engages detachably with the retaining strip assembly. This allows the LED unit to be replaced if necessary by installing the diffuser element. Because the LED holder is closed off in the beam direction by the diffuser element, it is located in the beam path of the emitted light, thus ensuring light dispersion, and also provides additional protection for the LED unit against splash water and water vapor.

[0015] Further preferably, the diffusing element is reversibly connected to the retaining strip arrangement in a form-fitting and / or force-fitting manner. Particularly preferably, the diffusing element can be brought into engagement with the retaining strip arrangement by elastic deformation of the diffusing element. This ensures simple assembly and disassembly of the diffusing element. It should be understood that, advantageously, no holes or the like are required in the retaining strip arrangement to mount the diffusing element to the retaining strip arrangement, which could negatively affect the sealing of the LED unit.

[0016] Preferably, the LED unit is reversibly connected to the LED holder with a positive fit. This allows the LED unit to be easily assembled and disassembled and replaced with a new LED unit in the event of damage. Furthermore, a positive fit does not compromise the seal of the LED unit within the LED holder.

[0017] Particularly preferably, the LED unit engages with the LED receptacle by forming a snap connection. A snap connection is achieved by elastic deformation of a snap element, which, as a result of the elastic deformation, can be brought into engagement with a corresponding snap element, such as a projection of the cooperating part. Such a snap connection is structurally simple to manufacture and cost-effective to implement.

[0018] According to a preferred embodiment, the retaining strip arrangement comprises a wall strip having a receiving groove for a shower partition and a mounting interface for mounting to a wall in an installed state. The LED receptacle is preferably formed in the wall strip. Furthermore, in the installed state, the strip's longitudinal direction extends parallel to the wall, so that the wall strip also extends parallel to the wall. The LED receptacle formed in the wall strip allows the LED unit to be accommodated at a corresponding position and emit light parallel to the wall along the strip's longitudinal direction.

[0019] Preferably, the LED holder is arranged on the wall strip in such a way that the beam direction of the emitted light runs in the direction of a surface normal of the shower partition when installed. Because the beam direction runs in the direction of a surface normal and thus away from a side surface of the shower partition, not only a lighting effect is created, but also efficient illumination of the shower area in an area spaced apart from the shower partition. The surface normal corresponds to a surface normal of opposite contact surfaces of the mounting groove for the shower partition.

[0020] The retaining strip arrangement preferably further comprises a cross strip, which can be connected to a wall by a proximal end section and to a shower partition by a distal end section. The cross strip, when installed, extends above the shower partition, and the LED receptacle is formed in the cross strip. Thus, the LED unit can be integrated into the cross strip above the actual shower partition. Particularly preferably, the LED receptacle is arranged in the cross strip such that, when installed, the beam direction extends toward a room ceiling and thus away from the shower area and the shower partition.

[0021] In a second aspect, which simultaneously represents a preferred embodiment of the first aspect, the invention relates to a shower space mounting arrangement of the type mentioned above, in which the retaining strip arrangement has a cross bar which can be connected to a wall with a proximal end section and to a shower partition with a distal end section. In an assembled state, the cross bar extends above the shower partition, wherein the LED receptacle is formed in the cross bar and the retaining strip arrangement further has a retaining strip which is vertical in the assembled state and has mounting means for connecting to the cross bar. The cross bar has a corresponding mounting section which is configured to selectively engage the cross bar with the retaining strip in a first position and in a second position different from the first position. The crossbar can therefore be mounted in more than one position. This also allows the position of the LED unit, and thus its beam direction, to be varied between at least two positions. This increases design freedom.

[0022] Preferably, the beam direction of the accommodated LED unit in the mounted state is directed in the first position towards a room ceiling and in the second position towards a floor.

[0023] This means that either direct lighting of the shower area is provided in the second position or indirect lighting of the shower area is possible by emitting the light towards the ceiling in the first position.

[0024] Further preferably, the mounting section comprises at least two receptacles for receiving the mounting means, which are arranged symmetrically to one another with respect to a first central axis of the crossbar and / or are arranged on a second central axis of the crossbar that runs orthogonally to the first central axis. Thus, at least two installation positions of the crossbar are provided by the at least two receptacles, so that the crossbar can be mounted in the first position and the second position. By using the same receptacles for both positions, the structural design of the crossbar is simplified.

[0025] It is further preferred that the housing be a cast aluminum housing, in particular comprising anodized aluminum. Aluminum offers sufficient media resistance for use in shower areas, is lightweight, and has sufficient stability. Furthermore, due to its conductive properties, aluminum offers advantages in heat dissipation from the LED unit. Further preferred is the retaining strip arrangement, at least in sections, made of a metallic material, preferably aluminum, thus further improving heat dissipation from the LED unit.

[0026] Preferably, the retaining strip arrangement further comprises a retaining strip that is vertical in the assembled state, arranged at a distance from a wall, and configured to at least indirectly connect the shower partition to the wall. The LED receptacle is formed in the retaining strip. Thus, an area spaced from the wall, in particular an entrance area of a shower area, can also be illuminated. The light is emitted along the vertically extending longitudinal extension of the housing.

[0027] More preferably, the housing's longitudinal extension is smaller than the strip's longitudinal extension, in particular at least 10% smaller. Thus, a distance is provided at least to one end section of the retaining strip arrangement, which has the LED receptacle. This is advantageous for assembly and cleaning purposes.

[0028] According to a preferred embodiment, the housing's longitudinal extension is smaller than the longitudinal extension of the wall strip, and the cast housing is spaced at least 100 mm, in particular at least 200 mm, from the lower end of the wall strip when installed. This distance from the lower end of the wall strip additionally protects the LED unit from splash water.

[0029] According to a preferred embodiment, the housing's longitudinal extension is smaller than the longitudinal extension of the retaining strip, and the cast housing is spaced at least 100 mm, in particular at least 200 mm, from a lower end of the retaining strip when installed. This distance from the lower end of the retaining strip additionally protects the LED unit from splash water.

[0030] In a third aspect, the invention relates to the use of an LED unit in a shower area mounting arrangement for illuminating a shower area according to claim 19. The invention achieves the initially mentioned object in the third aspect in that the LED unit used has a cast housing that extends in a longitudinal direction of the housing, as well as an LED light strip for emitting light in a beam direction. The LED light strip is cast into the cast housing and is enclosed by the cast housing at least in the longitudinal direction of the housing and on a surface rearward with respect to the beam direction. The LED unit further comprises a connecting cable for connection to a mains connection. By using the LED unit in a shower area mounting arrangement, the invention according to the third aspect adopts the advantages initially mentioned with regard to the first aspect.Advantages and preferred embodiments according to the first aspect of the invention are also advantages and preferred embodiments according to the third aspect of the invention and vice versa.

[0031] In a fourth aspect, the invention relates to a shower area mounting system for providing a shower area according to claim 20. The shower area mounting system achieves the object mentioned at the outset in that it has a shower area mounting arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention and a shower partition wall engaging with the shower area mounting arrangement.

[0032] Through a corresponding shower area mounting arrangement, the invention according to the fourth aspect incorporates the advantages mentioned initially with regard to the first aspect.
