Abstract

To provide a therapeutic tool that is useful for treating obesity-related fat production using DHMBA, the therapeutic tool being configured such that DHMBA-containing culturing inhibits the growth of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in vitro, resulting in the decrease in the number of cells, and, in an adipocyte differentiation process, the production of fat in the process of differentiation from 3T3-L1 preadipocytes into adipocytes is inhibited through the regulation of various signal transduction processes associated with insulin signal transduction when cultured in the presence of DHMBA.SOLUTION: The present invention is characterized by using 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (DHMBA) as an active ingredient and exhibiting an effect to inhibit the growth of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
