To provide a separator for a power storage device that has a crosslinked structure that provides excellent long-term stability within the power storage device and excellent heat resistance, and a method for manufacturing the separator.SOLUTION: A separator for a power storage device contains polyethylene (A) having a viscosity average molecular weight of 200,000 or more and 2,000,000 or less, polyethylene (B) having a carboxylic anhydride structure, and a crosslinking compound (C) having two or more functional groups of one or more types selected from hydroxy groups and amino groups, and has a crosslinked polyethylene porous layer having a gel fraction of 1% or more and 80% or less as measured in accordance with JIS-K6796.SELECTED DRAWING: None
