Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] SECURITY SEAL
[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The invention, as expressed in the statement of this specification, relates to a security seal, its intended function, advantages and characteristics, which are described in detail below.
[0005] The object of the present invention lies in a security seal that has the advantageous particularity of combining several technologies to ensure its function, for which, it is essentially formed from, at least, a body that includes, in two distinct portions that remain close when the seal is closed, two materials of a single chemical compound detectable as a tracer material, that is to say a material that allows to identify and / or trace, by means of the use of radiation emission detection elements, fluorescent or not, with an electromagnetic spectrum range comprised between 100 and 2000 nanometers of electromagnetic range excitation and / or by means of the use of laser light to measure the decay time of the luminosity of photoluminescent materials, using techniques such as photon upconversion.
[0006] Preferably, the seal object of the invention also has a surface where, at least, it incorporates engraved a unique and unrepeatable QR code for each seal generated by a computer system of databases of the type of chains of consecutive blocks, also called "distributed registry" or "distributed ledger" (or in English terminology "dishbuted ledger storage" or blockchain) accessible by means of a specific application (App) from a smartphone or similar that has a camera and GPS, also called smartphone, said seal also having closing means provided with verification means that, only in the correct closing position, are visible next to the QR code allowing, with said app and the geolocation of the smartphone, to keep a record of the time and place of the closing and its opening of each seal in particular.Specifically, the closing means may include a visible mark, such as a band of a different color than the rest, a notch or a relief that may eventually also act as a stop to delimit the closing point, which is visible next to the QR code only in its correct closing position, and in any case, the closing means have two parts, each of which includes a different tracer material or chemical compound and which are detectable by using radiation emission detection elements when both parts are in the correct closing position, a second aspect of the invention being a sealing or opening procedure carried out with the seal. The computer system will also allow verification of any tampering, whether fraudulent or not, with the seal at the time of unsealing the merchandise, object, envelope, container, or any element that said seal is intended to secure, by scanning the unique QR code engraved on the seal. This record will then be added to the computer system's database, allowing a geolocated record of each of the scan events of said seal.
[0007] FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The scope of the present invention falls within the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacture of containers, seals and closures, focusing particularly on the field of security closure and sealing systems to detect the manipulation and / or opening of containers.
[0009] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0010] Current security seals have the problem that they can be copied and / or duplicated, with the risk of counterfeiting or improper or fraudulent manipulation of the objects or packaging that the seal is intended to protect.
[0011] Therefore, the objective of the present invention is the development of an improved security seal that combines the use of different technologies and processes to ensure that the correct use of the seal can be controlled and thus prevent loss or theft.
[0012] On the other hand, and as a reference to the current state of the art, it should be noted that, although different types of security seals are known on the market, some of which include visual codes, at least by the applicant, the existence of any that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal to or similar to those claimed here is unknown.
[0013] EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION
[0014] The security seal and the sealing or opening procedure proposed by the invention are configured as the ideal solution to the objective previously stated, with the characterizing details that make it possible and distinguish it being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.
[0015] Specifically, what the invention proposes, as indicated above, is, on the one hand, a security seal that, preferably, combines several technologies to ensure its function, which, in addition to including, in two parts of the seal that remain close when closed, a different tracer material, that is, a material that allows to identify and / or trace, in each of them, and, optionally, also has at least one unique and unrepeatable QR code, generated by a computer system of databases of the type of consecutive block chains, also called "distributed registry" or "distributed ledger" (or in English terminology "dishbuted ledger storage" or blockchain) accessible by means of a specific application (App) from a smartphone, and, preferably, also has closing means provided with verification means visible only in the correct closing position.Specifically, said closing means may consist of a band of a different color than the rest, a notch or a relief that is only visible next to the QR code in its correct closing position, and, in any case, the two parts that have the two different tracer materials in each part of the closure are only detectable when they are in the correct closing position and also next to the QR code, allowing in both cases, with said App and the geolocation of the smartphone, to keep a record of the time and place of the closing of each particular seal.
[0016] More specifically, the security seal is essentially configured from a body of plastic, polymeric or metal material comprising:
[0017] - added to at least a first portion thereof, embedded, painted, lacquered, enameled, glued or by any similar technology, at least one first tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more components of the periodic table of elements in different quantities and / or proportions, whether of the number of elements in the table as well as the relative quantity present in the particular mixture of each of the tracers used, detectable as a tracer material by using radiation emission detection elements, fluorescent or not, with an electromagnetic spectrum range comprised between 100 and 2000 nanometers of electromagnetic range excitation and / or by using laser light to measure the luminosity decay time of photoluminescent materials, using techniques such as photon upconversion; and
[0018] - added to at least a second portion thereof, embedded, painted, lacquered, enamelled, glued or by any similar technology, at least one second tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more components of the periodic table of elements, whether or not fluorescent, with an electromagnetic spectrum range between 100 and 2000 nanometres of electromagnetic excitation and / or by using laser light to measure the decay time of the luminosity of photoluminescent materials, using techniques such as photon upconversion.
[0019] And where, in addition, said first and second portions of the body of the seal with said first and second tracer material are located close to each other when the seal is in the closed position, such that when the user focuses the security seal with some detection instrument suitable for this purpose, he is able to detect and identify the first type of tracer material and the second type of tracer material and certify that the seal is original, by detecting that both tracers are present, and to certify that it is closed, when both tracers appear in the same reading.
[0020] In this way, each of these materials becomes a physical fingerprint or record such that, through the use of elements that detect luminescence spectra from 100 nanometers to 2000 nanometers, using ultraviolet (UV) ray emission technology, the visible part of the spectrum (VIS) and the infrared part of the spectrum (NIR), or through the use of laser light to measure the decay time of the luminosity of photoluminescent materials, it is possible to detect the presence of said tracer material in the seal.
[0021] The chemical compound of the aforementioned tracer material may be inert, organic or inorganic and may or may not have photoluminescent characteristics.
[0022] The tracer material, i.e. a material that allows identification and / or tracing, can be micrometric or nanometric in size and may or may not be encapsulated.
[0023] Furthermore, the seal also optionally includes at least one area with a surface, preferably flat, where a QR code is engraved. At the same time, a digital duplication computer system will generate as many unique QR codes as necessary for each batch of seals, so that each individual seal is engraved with a unique, unrepeatable QR code.
[0024] Optionally, in addition to engraving a unique QR code on each seal, a barcode, alphanumeric numbering, etc. can also be engraved. In any case, the QR code, using a specific application (App) that can be installed on a smartphone, allows access to verify the computer system remotely.
[0025] Preferably, the barcode and QR code are incorporated engraved on the same surface of the seal body.
[0026] Preferably, there is a slot in said surface through which the end of a strip is inserted which, together with the slot itself, constitute the two parts of the seal closure, which can have a visible mark, such as a band of a different color than the rest, a notch or a relief, so that, when the seal is closed, it can be verified that the visible mark of the end of the strip different from the seal is visible inserted through the slot and allows, without any doubt, to verify that it has been closed.
[0027] In any case, according to an essential characteristic of the invention, independently of the QR code and, where applicable, the barcode, as stated above, it is envisaged that the closure or the means of closing the seal comprise two parts and in said two parts of the closure there are respective portions of a different tracer material or chemical compound, being detectable by means of the use of radiation emission detection elements when said two parts of the closure are placed in the correct closing position.
[0028] That is, the seal provides that a first type of tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more components of the periodic table of elements, fluorescent or not, in a determined number and / or relative proportion, is added to, embedded, painted, lacquered, enameled, glued or incorporated into a first part of the closure using any similar technology, such that it becomes a fingerprint or physical record, while the other part or second part of the closure is added to, embedded, painted, lacquered, enameled, glued or incorporated into a second type of tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more components of the periodic table of elements that is different from the first type of tracer material of the first part of the closure and such that, when the seal is closed, it allows said closure to be verified by using radiation emission detection elements, fluorescent or not.with an electromagnetic spectrum range between 100 and 2000 nanometers of electromagnetic range excitation and / or by using laser light to measure the luminosity decay time of photoluminescent materials, using techniques such as photon upconversion.
[0029] In any case, preferably, the aforementioned App, which is installed on a smartphone, is configured so that it can be verified that the seal is closed since, once closed, the unique QR code is scanned and, through the smartphone, the seal is geolocated, that is, it is located where the QR code of the seal was scanned by using the GPS (Global Positioning of satellites) functionalities of the smartphone or similar and at that precise moment of scanning of the aforementioned QR code, a record of seconds, minutes, hour, day, month and year (also called a time-stamp) is created, also associating it, in order to individually and uniquely locate the aforementioned seal as well as the moment in which it was scanned. Said data will be sent to the database where they will be registered.
[0030] Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment, the application is configured to request that, using the smartphone's own camera, a photo be taken of the seal once it has been closed on the side where it has the barcode and the QR code, said information also being uploaded to a centralized database of the computer system where the seal can be controlled in order to also have photographic proof that at the time of closing the seal it was effectively closed, in order to thus fulfill its protection function.
[0031] The system is configured to create a digital duplicate with each smartphone data entry, i.e., a database entry for each reading, thus creating a so-called "double," storing the data collected from each reading and uploading it to the cloud. The app also includes an image recognition system using artificial vision techniques that, after taking a photo of the closed seal, automatically displays whether the seal has been closed properly or not, so that the user can be preemptively warned if they have closed the seal incorrectly. The double-digit system will allow the QR code to be scanned again before opening the previously closed seal, geolocating it and again creating a date record (seconds, minutes, hour, day, month, and year) that will be uploaded to the digital cloud platform. Because it is unique, it will be identified and the date and geolocation of the seal's closing and the date and geolocation of its opening can be validated in different locations or not and on different dates or not. Thus, the system is designed to verify that the unique seal has not been replaced during the time elapsed between the initial reading and the second reading, thus creating a secure record.
[0032] Thus, a second aspect of the invention relates to the sealing process using the described seal, which comprises at least the following steps:
[0033] - In the previous phase, when manufacturing the seal:
[0034] - Firstly, at least two types of tracer material or different chemical compound are added to the material forming at least a first and a second part of the body of the seal, embedded, painted, lacquered, enamelled, glued or incorporated by any technology suitable for this purpose, consisting of a mixture of one or more components detectable by the use of very broad spectrum radiation emission detection instruments, specifically instruments for detecting luminescence spectra from 100 nanometres to 2000 nanometres, using ultraviolet (UV) ray emission technology, the visible part of the spectrum (VIS) and the infrared part of the spectrum (NIR) and / or by using laser light to measure the luminosity decay time of the photoluminescent materials, using techniques such as photon upconversion.
[0035] - In addition, means of verifying the closure are also added, such as:
[0036] - a visible mark, such as a coloured band, a notch or a relief, different from the rest of the seal at the end of a strip which, insertable into a slot, constitutes the closure of the seal.
[0037] - In parallel or immediately afterward, a unique and unrepeatable QR code is generated by a computer system for each of the seals manufactured. - One of the generated QR codes is then engraved on each seal.
[0038] - Optionally, in parallel or subsequently, a barcode and / or a unique signal number is generated and recorded on each seal.
[0039] - In another phase, to carry out the sealing at the time of use, the process of use is as follows:
[0040] - The seal is closed.
[0041] - The unique QR code printed on the seal is scanned using the App.
[0042] - Whether or not the app asks you to take a photo of the closed seal, showing the QR code and the seal closing the product to be sealed.
[0043] - If the photo taken is read and recorded correctly, the app sends the information to the system's cloud-based database.
[0044] - The App will offer the option to add a data field, such as, but not limited to, the ID or name of the person who closed it, or other relevant fields (weight, reference number, etc.)
[0045] - It is validated and OK is given, and this seal will be recorded in the aforementioned database as closed, geolocated, with a time-stamp of the scan date.
[0046] - By scanning the QR code using the app, you can access the information collected at the time of closure.
[0047] - And, in the last phase, at the moment of opening it or arriving at the destination:
[0048] - Before opening or cutting the seal, you must use the App to take a photograph under the same conditions as previously mentioned and indicate that you are opening it in the App field. This will have a field that says "seal opening." This will create a note in the database stating that the seal has reached its destination and has not been broken. - At the same time, using equipment or a flashlight that emits UV / VIS / IR frequencies or laser light emission to measure the luminosity decay time, it will be detected that the seal is original, since it reads the combination of pigments prepared for that seal model and / or by using laser light to measure the luminosity decay time of photoluminescent materials.
[0049] - This flashlight may or may not be connected to the smartphone via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a communication system with similar functions, so that the app will recognize that the seal is identified.
[0050] The system may eventually have a username / number and password access, so that only approved users will be able to read the contents of the QR code scan.
[0051] DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0052] To complement the description being made and in order to help better understand the characteristics of the invention, a drawing is attached to this specification, as an integral part thereof, in which the following has been represented for illustrative and non-limiting purposes:
[0053] Figures 1 and 2 show schematic views of a first embodiment of the security seal that is the object of the invention, specifically an example with a strip that can be inserted into a slot as a closing means, which is shown, respectively, in the open and closed positions, showing the main parts and elements it comprises; Figure 3 shows a schematic view of a second embodiment of the security seal that is the object of the invention, in this case an example with closing means made up of two parts that can be coupled together, shown in the open position; Figures 4 and 5 show respective schematic views of the seal, according to the invention, shown in Figure 3, shown in respective phases of the closing process thereof; and Figure 6.- It shows a graphic representation of the reading of the two chemical components of the seal with a luminescence spectral detection instrument from 100 nanometers to 2000 nanometers, using ultraviolet (UV) ray emission technology, the visible part of the spectrum (VIS) and the infrared part of the spectrum (NIR).
[0054] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0055] In view of the aforementioned figures, and in accordance with the adopted numbering, two non-limiting embodiment examples of the security seal of the invention can be observed, which includes what is described in detail below.
[0056] Thus, as can be seen in said figures, the seal (1) of the invention is essentially configured from a body with closing means (4, 5 or 4', 5'), which is made of plastic, polymeric or metal material, which comprises, added during its manufacture or subsequently, embedded, painted, lacquered, enamelled, glued or added by any technology suitable for this:
[0057] • in at least a first portion (1a) of said body, at least a first type of tracer material defined as a mixture in different quantities and proportions of different elements of the periodic table of elements that, when excited by the emission of light radiation in the range between 100 and 2000nm, have a particular spectrum that allows them to be identifiable; and
[0058] • in at least a second portion (1b) of said body, at least a second type of tracer material, the second portion (1 b) being located near the first portion (1a) when the security seal is in the closed position, the first and second tracer materials being different from a mixture of one or more chemical components in different quantities and proportions detectable and identifiable by using radiation emission detection instruments, fluorescent or not, with an electromagnetic spectrum range comprised between 100 and 2000 nanometers of electromagnetic range excitation, specifically by means of luminescence spectrum detection instruments from 100 nanometers to 2000 nanometers, using ultraviolet (UV) ray emission technology, the visible part of the spectrum (VIS) and the infrared part of the spectrum (NIR), such that when the user focuses on the security seal,The detection instrument is capable of detecting and identifying the first type of tracer material and the second type of tracer material and certifying that the seal is original, by detecting that both tracers are present, and that it is closed, when both tracers appear in the same reading.
[0059] Said chemical compound added to the seal material as a tracer material may be inert, organic or inorganic and may or may not have photoluminescent characteristics.
[0060] Furthermore, the seal (1) comprises, recorded in at least one area thereof with the surface (2), preferably flat, a unique and unrepeatable QR code (3) generated by a computer system of digital doubles, and which is accessible remotely by means of a specific application that can be installed on a smartphone by scanning said QR code (3).
[0061] Likewise, the seal (1) comprises, in the closing means (4, 5 or 4', 5'), verification means visible next to said QR code (3) only when they are correctly closed.
[0062] In a first embodiment, said means of verification of the closing means (4, 5) consist of a visible mark, such as a band (6) of a different color than the rest of the seal, a notch or a relief, which is visible next to the QR code (3) only when the closing means (4, 5) are correctly closed.
[0063] To this end, as can be seen in figures 1 and 2, as closing means the seal (1) comprises a strip (4), or similar filiform element, which, joined in a proximal end (4a) to the body with the surface (2) of the seal and insertable by its distal end (4b) through a slot (5), hole, perforation or similar, provided in said surface (2) emerging from the face on which the QR code (3) is engraved, has a visible mark, such as a colored band (6) different from the rest of the seal, a notch or a relief, which is visible next to said QR code (3) only when said closing strip (4) is correctly closed.
[0064] In an example of said embodiment, shown in Figures 1 and 2, the first portion (1a) of the seal (1) with the first type of tracer material covers at least an area surrounding the slot (5) in which the strip (4) is inserted, while the second portion (1b) of the seal (1) with the second type of tracer material covers an area of the strip (4) that coincides with the slot (5) when it is in the closed position.
[0065] And, looking at figures 3 to 5, it can be seen how, in a second embodiment, the means of verification of the seal (1) visible next to the QR code (3) only when the closing means (4', 5') are correctly closed consist of the first portion (1a) with a first type of tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more component vapors, added in a first part (4') of the closing means, and in the second portion (1 b) with a second type of tracer material or chemical compound consisting of a mixture of one or more component vapors, different from that of the first portion (1a), added in a second part (5') of the closing means, and such that both portions (1a, 1 b) with said different tracer materials are detectable by using radiation emission detection instruments, fluorescent or not,of luminescence spectra from 100 nanometers to 2000 nanometers when said first part (4') and second part (5') of the closing means are in the correct closing position because they are attached adjacently and can be detected together, while if they are only detected separately, verification does not occur and the detection gives an error in the system.
[0066] To this end, as can be seen in Figures 3 to 5, in this example of the seal, the aforementioned two parts of the closure consist of an elongated part (4') with a protuberance (4a') and a wide part (5') with a cavity (5a') that has a surface (2) with the QR code (3), said wide part (5') being joined to the elongated part (4') in its position prior to use of the seal (Figure 3), such that it is easily separable from it, for example by tearing a joining bridge (8) provided between both parts (4', 5') of the closure and capable of fitting through the cavity (5a') into the protuberance (4a') of the elongated part (4'), the respective portions (1a, 1b) with the respective different tracer materials being arranged adjacently next to the QR code (3) (Figure 5).In this case, in the example shown in figures 3 to 5, the two portions (1a, 1b) with the different tracer materials cover small areas of each of the two parts (4', 5') of the closing means, although they could cover larger areas or even the entirety of each of both parts (4', 5').
[0067] On the other hand, preferably, the computer application that is installed on the smartphone, in addition to scanning the QR code (3) and remotely accessing the computer system, is configured to request that a photo be taken of the seal (1) with the portions (1a, 1b) with the respective different tracer materials, located next to the QR code (3) and, where appropriate, with the visible mark, such as a colored band (6) different from the rest of the seal, a notch or a relief, to detect in the image that both parts (4, 5, or 4' 5') of the closure are in the correctly closed position, to record the place and time at which the image is captured, and to upload said information to a centralized database of the computer system, where the place and time of closing of each seal (1) is recorded.
[0068] Optionally, the seal (1), in addition to the unique and unrepeatable QR code (3), also includes a second barcode (7) and / or a unique or other type of marked number engraved on it.
[0069] Preferably, said second code (7) and the QR code (3) are incorporated engraved on the same surface (2) of the body of the seal (1) and in such a way that they appear together with the closing means (4, 5, or 4' 5') when the image of the place and time of closing of the seal (1) is captured with the application.
[0070] Finally, looking at figure number 6, an example of the graph of the reading of the two chemical components A, B added, respectively, as the first and second tracer material in the first and second portions (1a, 2b) of the body of the seal can be observed with the detection instrument, preferably a flashlight (9), of luminescence spectra from 100 nanometers to 2000 nanometers, using ultraviolet (UV) ray emission technology, the visible part of the spectrum (VIS) and the infrared part of the spectrum (NIR).
[0071] Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to make its explanation more extensive so that any expert in the field understands its scope and the advantages derived from it.
