Abstract
Description
CHUCK FOR PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, AND PROCESSING EQUIPMENTTECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present disclosure relates to the technical field of machining equipment, in particular to a chuck for processing equipment and corresponding processing equipment.BACKGROUND ART
[0002] Processing equipment for processing workpieces such as piping materials generally uses a chuck or chucks to clamp, position and rotate the workpiece. High requirements are usually set for centering accuracy of such chucks in order to ensure processing accuracy. Also, there are different demands for the clamping force applied by the chuck, depending on the size, material, etc. of the workpiece. For example, for small-sized, thin-walled or low-strength materials, a relatively small clamping force is required to avoid the problem of clamping deformation.
[0003] Various chucks with a gear centering mechanism have been proposed in the prior art, in which the clamping position and clamping force of clamping jaws are adjusted by driving corresponding gear mechanisms. However, such type of chucks have the following disadvantages: gear centering mechanisms generally have a long and complicated transmission chain and, as a result, in addition to a relatively large transmission resistance, the centering accuracy of the mechanism per se is also easily affected by many other factors such as the required number of gears or racks, the accuracy of their positional layout, the firmness of their installation, and their dimensional accuracy, etc. Therefore, it is actually very difficult to effectively ensure the centering accuracy of the chuck through gear centering mechanisms; moreover, machining debris can easily get into the gaps between teeth, causing abnormal operation of the gear mechanism or further deteriorating the centering accuracy and clamping performance.
[0004] A chuck with centering discs is also known in the prior art, which can bring clamping jaws into clamping and releasing actions by means of an arc-shaped sliding groove on the rotating centering disc. However, such a centering disc with sliding grooves is actually disadvantageous to adjustment of the clamping force due to its own processing accuracy and structural strength, or, in other words, the adjustable range of its clamping force is very limited with low adjustment efficiency, and the centering disc may be easily damaged during the adjustment.
[0005] In addition, other possible practical problems exist. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the existing chucks for processing equipment to improve the corresponding processing technology.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0041] As shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 6, a chuck 1 for processing equipment according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a base 2 rotatable about a rotation axis L, a drive unit 3 as a power source mounted on the base 2, a clamping jaw unit 4 movably mounted to the base 2 to grip a workpiece, and a centering transmission unit 5.
[0042] The base 2 is substantially formed in a plate shape perpendicular to the rotation axis L and has a first side 201 and a second side 202 opposite thereto as mounting surfaces, wherein the drive unit 3 and the centering transmission unit 5 are mounted on the first side 201, and the clamping jaw unit 4 is mounted on the second side 202. A plurality of guide rail structures 21 for guiding a gripping action of the clamping jaw unit 4 are formed on the base 2, with each of the guide rail structures 21 formed to extend in a radial direction perpendicular to the rotation axis L and comprising a guide groove 211 penetrating a main body of the base 2 in the direction of the rotation axis L and a guide rail 212 arranged on the second side 202. A central shaft 22 coaxial with the rotation axis L and protruding from the first side 201 in a direction parallel to the rotation axis L is formed in a central area of the base 2, and a central area of the central shaft 22 other than a peripheral portion thereof penetrates along the rotation axis L, which means it is hollow. Preferably, the base 2 is further formed with a plurality of lightening holes 23 at a plurality of positions that are centrally symmetrical about the rotation axis L and different from the guide rail structures 21.
[0043] As described above, the drive unit 3 is disposed on the first side 201 of the base 2, and comprises a plurality of pneumatic drive devices 30, such as cylinders. The plurality of pneumatic drive devices 30 are arranged at a plurality of positions at equal intervals in a circumferential direction about the rotation axis L and different from those of the guide rail structures 21. Each of the pneumatic drive devices 30 has a mounting end 31 at which it is pivotably mounted to the base 2, and an output end 32 at which it is coupled to the centering transmission unit 5 to output power to the centering transmission unit 5.
[0044] The clamping jaw unit 4 comprises a plurality of clamping jaw assemblies 40, as shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, etc., and each of the clamping jaw assemblies 40 comprises a clamping jaw 41 which is used for direct contact with a workpiece to be processed, a jaw seat 42 which is fitted with the guide rail 212 and thus can slide along the guide rail 212, a jaw arm 43 which fixedly connects the clamping jaw 41 to the jaw seat 42, and a drive shaft 44 which is fixedly mounted on the jaw seat 42 and is configured to pass through the guide groove 211 to couple to the centering transmission unit 5 on the first side 201 (specifically, to be hinged to a corresponding connecting rod 52 of the connecting rod portion, which will be described in detail below) , as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4.
[0045] The centering transmission unit 5 is used for transmitting power from the drive unit 3 to the clamping jaw unit 4 to achieve centered gripping and clamping of the workpiece. The centering transmission unit 5 comprises a centering portion coupled to the drive unit 3 and rotatable only about the rotation axis L, as well as a connecting rod portion hinged to the clamping jaw unit 4 to drive the clamping jaw unit 4 into a gripping action, wherein the centering portion is hinged to the connecting rod portion.
[0046] The centering portion comprises at least one centering plate 51, and each centering plate 51 has an annular main body 511, a plurality of connecting rod hinges 512 radially projecting outwards from the main body 511 at positions at equal intervals in a circumferential direction, and at least one drive hinge 513 radially projecting outwards from the main body 511 at a position different from those of the plurality of connecting rod hinges 512. The centering plate 51 is mounted on the base 2 in a manner that it can rotate coaxially with the base 2, for example, by having its main body 511 mounted to an outer periphery of the central shaft 22, as shown in FIG. 1, etc. Each centering plate 51 is hinged, via its drive hinge 513, to an output end 32 of at least one, optionally two oppositely arranged pneumatic drive devices 30 so as to be driven by the pneumatic drive device 30 to perform the rotation, and is hinged to the connecting rod portion via its connecting rod hinge 512.
[0047] The connecting rod portion comprises a plurality of connecting rods 52 in one-to-one correspondence to each of the plurality of clamping jaw assemblies 40, wherein the plurality of clamping jaw assemblies 40 are grouped into at least one group corresponding to at least one centering plate 51, and the plurality of clamping jaw assemblies 40 in each group are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction and are connected in a force transmission manner to the corresponding centering plate 51 via the plurality of corresponding connecting rods 52. A first end of each connecting rod 52 is hinged to the corresponding centering plate 51 at the corresponding connecting rod hinge 512 of the corresponding centering plate 51, and a second end opposite to the first end is hinged to a drive shaft 44 of the clamping jaw assembly 40 passing through the guide groove 211, as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4. Preferably, each connecting rod 52 is formed as an integrated connecting rod.
[0048] In a preferred embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the centering portion comprises two centering plates 51 mounted to an outer periphery of the central shaft 22 in a stacked manner along a direction of the rotation axis L, and each of the centering plates 51 is hinged, at its two oppositely formed drive hinges 513, to two oppositely arranged pneumatic drive devices 30.The clamping jaw unit 4 comprises two groups of clamping jaw assemblies 40, with each group of clamping jaw assemblies 40 including two oppositely arranged clamping jaw assemblies 40, and a total of four clamping jaw assemblies 40 are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, wherein each group of clamping jaw assemblies 40 are connected in a force transmission manner to one corresponding centering plate 51 via two corresponding connecting rods 52. In this way, each centering plate 51 is driven by a pair of drive units 3 at opposite positions, and meanwhile drives a pair of connecting rods 52 to move at another pair of opposite positions in order to drive a pair of oppositely arranged clamping jaw assemblies 40 to perform a gripping action. Certainly, it is also possible to configure the chuck 1 in such a manner that the clamping jaw unit 4 comprises six clamping jaw assemblies 40 in two groups, and each centering plate 51 drives three clamping jaw assemblies 40 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction by means of three connecting rods 52.
[0049] In an optional embodiment, the centering portion may comprise only one centering plate 51 which is hinged by corresponding drive hinges 513 to two, three or four pneumatic drive devices 30 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. The clamping jaw unit 4 comprises one group of clamping jaw assemblies 40, and the group of clamping jaw assemblies 40 includes two, three, four or more clamping jaw assemblies 40 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, which clamping jaw assemblies 40 are connected in a force transmission manner to the centering plate 51 via corresponding connecting rods 52. In this way, a single centering plate 51 is driven by the drive unit 3 at a plurality of positons centrally symmetrical about the rotation axis L, and meanwhile drives the connecting rods 52 to move at a plurality of further positions centrally symmetrical about the rotation axis L in order to drive the plurality of clamping jaw assemblies to perform the gripping action. In another optional embodiment, the chuck 1 may also be similarly configured to use three centering plates 51 to drive six or more clamping jaw units 40. In other words, the number and grouping manner of the pneumatic drive devices 30, centering plates 51, and clamping jaw assemblies 40 of the chuck 1 can be appropriately adjusted as needed, as long as centered transmission of the driving force can be achieved.
[0050] With the help of the aforementioned centering transmission units 5, when a workpiece is to be gripped, the drive unit 3 drives each of the centering plates 51 to rotate about the rotation axis L, for example, as shown by a double-headed arrow A in FIG. 3 and FIG. 5, where a plurality of corresponding connecting rods 52 are driven at a first end by the rotating centering plate 51 to move around the rotation axis L, and accordingly, each of the connecting rods 52 at a second end thereof pulls or pushes the corresponding clamping jaw assemblies 40 to move along the guide structure 21, i.e., in the radial direction, as shown by double-headed arrows B and C in FIG. 5, thereby realizing the gripping action of the clamping jaw unit 4, i.e., the plurality of clamping jaw assemblies 40.
[0051] As shown in FIG. 3, when the clamping jaw assembly 40 is located at a first end jaw position at a distal end of the guide rail structure 21 away from the rotation axis L, a first angle of acute angle is formed between its corresponding connecting rod 52 and the corresponding guide groove 211, i.e., the corresponding guide rail structure 21; and when the clamping jaw assembly 40 is located at a second end jaw position (not shown) at a proximal end of the guide rail structure 21 close to the rotation axis L, a second angle of acute angle is formed between its corresponding connecting rod 52 and the corresponding guide rail structure 21, wherein the first angle is smaller than the second angle. Moreover, as the clamping jaw assembly 40 is driven by the connecting rod 52 from the first end jaw position towards the second end jaw position, an angle between the connecting rod 52 and the corresponding guide rail structure 21 also gradually increases, and a proportion of a radial force component of a force applied by the connecting rod 52 to the clamping jaw assembly 40 accordingly decreases as the angle gradually increases. In this way, with the driving force transmitted by the connecting rod 52 remained unchanged, the clamping force of the clamping jaw unit 4 as a component force of the driving force in the radial direction can decrease as its position approaches the second end jaw position (areduction in the stroke) , and increase otherwise. In other words, when the driving force transmitted by the centering transmission unit 5 remains unchanged, the clamping force of the clamping jaw unit 4 on the clamped workpiece decreases as a radial size of the workpiece decreases, and increases otherwise.
[0052] With the above structural characteristics of the chuck 1 according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, it is possible to appropriately and easily adjust the clamping force on the workpiece based on the size of the workpiece (i.e. the size of the stroke of the clamping jaw assembly 40) while easily ensuring high centering accuracy. Compared with various conventional centering chucks, the chuck 1 according to the embodiments of the present disclosure can easily clamp small-sized and / or thin-walled piping materials with a relatively small clamping force without causing damage thereto, and can also easily clamp large-sized and / or thick-walled piping materials with a relatively large clamping force to ensure the clamping strength. Furthermore, the chuck 1 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure possesses different clamping force adjusting characteristics depending on different radial sizes of workpieces to be clamped. Specifically, the clamping force can be quickly adjusted within a relatively large numerical range for large-sized workpieces, while for small-sized workpieces, the clamping force can be adjusted in a slow but relatively accurate manner.
[0053] According to a further aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a processing equipment, in particular a pipe cutting machine, and in particular a laser pipe cutting machine, which at least comprises a chuck for processing equipment according to the present disclosure.
[0054] While specific embodiments of the present disclosure have been described in detail here, they have been presented only for the purpose of explanation and should not be construed as limitations on the scope of the disclosure. Various substitutions, changes and modifications can be devised without deviating from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure.
