Easy-to-manufacture, efficient riblet structure

Abstract

The invention relates to a riblet structure (1) comprising several spaced-apart, in particular wedge-shaped, longitudinal ribs (5) projecting from a base surface (6) in a principal direction (H), wherein two adjacent longitudinal ribs (5) form a longitudinal channel (2) oriented in the principal direction (H). For simple manufacturing with simultaneously favorable properties with regard to frictional resistance, the invention provides that the base surface (6) in the respective longitudinal channel (2) has a substructure (3) that is periodic in the principal direction (H), wherein the substructures (3) of adjacent longitudinal channels (2) are arranged with periodicities of the substructures (3) offset from each other in the principal direction (H), preferably by half a period, and wherein the respective substructure (3) is formed with elevations (E) extending obliquely to the longitudinal ribs (5).
