Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention mainly relates to the field of use of electric energy, and more specifically, to a system and method adapted to wide voltage input and a driving circuit and chip adapted to wide voltage input. Background Art

[0002] For the application scenarios of AC mains power, in most cases, the AC mains power is first rectified into pulsating DC power and then the pulsating DC power is stabilized by using filter capacitors. The DC voltage with less ripple output by the filter capacitor is provided to various loads. Usually in conjunction with a DC to DC converter, the DC voltage of the filter capacitor can be further stepped up or stepped down to form voltages of different levels for the load. This involves passive or active power factor correction and how to improve total harmonic distortion and pulse width modulation of the switching power supply. The conventional electrolytic filter capacitor is large in size and expensive, and the converter also has the characteristics of many components, low efficiency and complex modulation. It is urgent to design a power supply solution that can take into account both pulsating voltage and stable voltage to replace the cumbersome links of traditional power application technology. [0144] The solutions of the present invention will be described clearly and completely below in combination with various embodiments. Solutions obtained by those skilled in the art without creative work all fall within the protection scope of the present invention.

[0145] See also Figure 1 The core function of the voltage converter DC is to convert a voltage level to a required target voltage level through different topological structures. The voltage converter DC performs voltage conversion and provides a stable output voltage to power many parallel power consumption units 100. The voltage converter DC, also known as a switching converter, can be a buck converter or a boost converter or a CUK or SEPIC or ZETA or a buck-boost converter and other topological structures. The circuit topological structure for voltage conversion mentioned here belongs to the so-called non-isolated voltage converter in the industry.

[0146] See also Figure 1 , the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND of the power consumption unit 100 are respectively coupled to the positive pole VP and the negative pole VN of the power supply provided by the voltage converter. It is not limited to the non-isolated voltage converter. The same voltage conversion purpose can be achieved by replacing the non-isolated voltage converter with an isolated voltage converter, but the isolated voltage converter needs to use a high-frequency transformer to transfer energy. Even an AC switching power supply can replace the non-isolated voltage converter or the isolated voltage converter to achieve power supply. The non-isolated voltage converter or the isolated voltage converter belongs to a DC switching power supply and is used to realize DC-to-DC conversion. The AC switching power supply suitable for AC mains conversion scenarios can also realize AC-to-DC conversion and provide a stable DC output voltage to many power consumption units 100.

[0147] See also Figure 1The power input terminal VCC is usually defined as the power supply terminal of each functional module in the power unit 100, and the total input current flows in from the power input terminal VCC. The potential reference terminal GND opposite to this is usually defined as the potential reference ground terminal of the power unit 100, and the total output current flows out from the potential reference terminal GND. The power units 100 connected in parallel have negative effects: the power supply bus at the positive pole VP and the negative pole VN of the power supply source need to provide a channel or path for the current to flow for all power units 100. The more power units 100 there are, the greater the current value of the combined current on the power supply bus, and the copper foil metal power supply bus must be prepared to be quite thick.

[0148] See also Figure 2 , in view of the disadvantage that the parallel connection of the power consumption units 100 will cause the current on the power supply bus to be too large, especially the voltage resistance of a single power consumption unit 100 is very low, so the voltage between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN cannot be too large, and the voltage converter DC that plays the voltage regulation function is very necessary at this time. If many power consumption units 100 are transformed from the parallel connection structure to the series connection structure as shown in the figure, under the premise that the total number of power consumption units 100 is the same, the series connection structure will greatly reduce the current pressure of the power supply bus. Another important advantage of the series connection structure of the power consumption units 100 is that it allows the voltage between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN to be closer to the effective value or peak-to-valley value of the alternating current, which is of great significance for the voltage converter DC that omits the intermediate link. Because abandoning the voltage converter DC is equivalent to actively giving up the voltage regulation function of the power supply, at this time, even if the voltage drop of each power consumption unit 100 is low, the total voltage of the voltage drops of the series-connected power consumption units 100 is close to the level of alternating current. In other words, the series-connected power consumption units 100 themselves are naturally equivalent to a voltage conversion device.

[0149] See also Figure 2, many power consumption units 100 are arranged in one or more columns on the power supply path. The power input terminal VCC of the first power consumption unit 100 as the head of each column is coupled to the positive power supply VP, and the potential reference terminal GND of the last power consumption unit 100 as the tail of the column is coupled to the negative power supply VN. In each column, the power input terminal of the next power consumption unit is also arranged to be coupled to the potential reference terminal of the previous power consumption unit. In this example, the power input terminal VCC of the second power consumption unit 100 is arranged in the first column to be coupled to the current outflow terminal, that is, the potential reference terminal GND, of the adjacent first power consumption unit 100. The power input terminal VCC of the third power consumption unit 100 in the first column is connected to the current outflow terminal, that is, the potential reference terminal GND, of the adjacent second power consumption unit 100. And for another example, the power input terminal VCC of the fourth power consumption unit 100 in the first column can be arranged to be coupled to the current outflow terminal, that is, the potential reference terminal GND, of the adjacent third power consumption unit 100. The power input terminal VCC of the last power unit 100 in the first column is coupled to the current outflow terminal of the second-to-last power unit 100, that is, the potential reference terminal GND. For another example, the power input terminal VCC of the second-to-last power unit 100 in the first column can be coupled to the current outflow terminal of the third-to-last power unit 100, that is, the potential reference terminal GND. It can be seen from this that: in the power supply relationship of multiple power units, the power input terminal of the rear driving chip in each column is coupled to the potential reference terminal of the adjacent front power unit, until all the power units in each column are connected in series or superimposed between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN of the external power supply. As a voltage stabilization option, a capacitor CZ can be set between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND of each power unit. It is considered that in each column, the total output current of the previous power unit is regarded as the total input current of the adjacent rear power unit, or that the total input current of all power units in each column is equal, which is determined by the series structure of all power units.

[0150] See also Figure 2 , the voltage converter DC is regarded as a power supply device or a DC power supply, and the power unit 100 is a power user, so it is correspondingly regarded as a power unit or a power consumption unit. Many power units 100 are connected in series between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN of the DC power supply provided by the voltage converter. The power switch that is indispensable for the voltage converter DC needs to implement pulse width modulation, so there must be electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. The voltage converter DC usually also uses various auxiliary circuits to achieve its voltage conversion purpose. The large size and high cost are the inherent limitations of the voltage converter DC.

[0151] See also Figure 3, the rectifier 200 takes a bridge rectifier as an example, which can rectify AC power into DC power. The so-called rectification in the industry includes full-wave rectification and half-wave rectification. Assume that the bridge rectifier rectifies to obtain pulsating DC power VDC. If the voltage converter is abandoned in the power supply and single-use system and the pulsating DC power VDC is directly applied to the power unit 100, the various drawbacks and disadvantages of the voltage converter mentioned above will be solved. Figure 1 and Figure 2 Under the premise that the power supply voltage between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN is stable, the power consumption unit 100 is usually equipped with a voltage stabilizing module to make the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the so-called potential reference terminal GND almost a fixed value. Figure 3 The supply voltage between the positive electrode VP and the negative electrode VN is not stable, and the voltage stabilizing module of the power unit 100 becomes a hindrance, so that the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the so-called potential reference terminal GND has no adaptive adjustment capability and needs to be discarded.

[0152] See also Figure 3 , the pulsating direct current VDC is regarded as a direct current power supply, and the power unit 100 is still a power user, so it is correspondingly regarded as a power unit or a power consumption unit. Many power units 100 are connected in series between the positive pole VP and the negative pole VN of a direct current power supply such as the pulsating direct current VDC. It should also be noted that the voltage magnitude and direction of the direct current power provided by the voltage converter DC hardly change with the change of time, while the voltage magnitude of the direct current power provided by the pulsating direct current VDC changes with the change of time, but the direction remains unchanged. The total current IS or the series current represents the current flowing through all the power units 100. In each column, the total output current of the previous power unit 100 is regarded as the total input current of the next power unit 100, and the total input current of all power units 100 is equal.

[0153] See also Figure 4, the pulsating direct current VDC obtained by rectifying the alternating current VAC has the remarkable characteristic that the voltage always changes with the change of time. Faced with the voltage change of the pulsating direct current VDC, the voltage drop borne by each power unit 100 at both ends often presents a nonlinear characteristic. The positive integer N is greater than 1, and it is assumed that N power units 100 are connected in series between the positive pole VP and the negative pole VN of a power source such as the pulsating direct current VDC. The voltage drop borne by the first power unit 100 itself is DIV1, the voltage drop borne by the second power unit 100 itself is DIV2, and so on until the voltage drop borne by the so-called Nth power unit 100 itself is DIVN. When the voltage value of the pulsating direct current VDC is not very large, for example, near the valley value, the voltage difference between the voltage drops DIV1, DIV2, ... DIVN is very small and will not affect the normal operation of the power unit 100. However, once the voltage value of the pulsating direct current VDC increases slightly, for example, leaves the valley value, the voltage difference between the voltage drops DIV1 , DIV2 , . . . DIVN will increase and will negatively affect the normal operation of the power consumption unit 100 .

[0154] See also Figure 4 , the sum of the voltage drops of each power unit 100 is the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC. Expressed in functional form, the sum of the voltage drops DIV1+DIV2+...+DIVN is equal to the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC. The figure deliberately draws the shaded part of the pulsating direct current VDC, and the shaded part indicates that the voltage value of the pulsating direct current VDC has increased enough to make a large voltage difference between the series voltage drops DIV1, DIV2,...DIVN. For example, the voltage drop DIV2 is much larger than the voltage drop DIV1, and the voltage drop DIVN is much smaller than the voltage drop DIV1. In essence, the voltage of the pulsating direct current is not evenly distributed to each power unit 100, and there is a lot of randomness and unpredictability in this voltage distribution of the power units. The power unit 100 with a large voltage drop at both ends is often in an overvoltage state and has an abnormal situation of high power consumption and high heat. The power unit 100 with a small voltage drop at both ends may be in an undervoltage state and cannot operate normally. Generally speaking, the service life of the power unit 100 under overvoltage will end prematurely, causing the entire array of power units 100 to become unusable. The reason for the above disadvantages is that the voltage increased by the pulsating direct current is always concentrated in one or a few power units.

[0155] See also Figure 5, the power unit 100 includes a power input terminal VCC and a potential reference terminal GND, and includes a voltage regulating module 103 arranged between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. The power unit 100 includes a load LOAD and a constant current unit CS1 arranged between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. Note that the current flows in from the power input terminal VCC and flows out from the potential reference terminal GND. As an energy consumption unit, the power unit 100 is, for example, a driving circuit that can implement constant current driving on loads such as conventional diodes, light-emitting diodes, or resistors, and another example is a battery charging management circuit that manages loads such as rechargeable batteries. In the industry, in addition to the various components mentioned above, the power unit 100 is also allowed to integrate protection circuits and bandgap circuits such as over-temperature protection or startup protection or electrostatic protection or transient voltage protection or peak current discharge circuits, as well as integrated oscillators and power-on reset circuits and clock circuits or communication modules. In terms of constant current driving of the load, the aforementioned modules or circuits are all necessary or optional parts of the power unit, especially when the power unit is a highly integrated driver chip. Considering that these contents are well known to technicians in the industry, they will not be repeated. The constant current generated by the constant current unit CS1 usually adopts a pulse width modulation method to drive the load. For example, a pulse width modulation module not shown in the figure is used to generate a pulse width modulation signal and control the on and off of the constant current unit. At this time, the full-amplitude constant current is loaded onto the load in a repeated pulse sequence that is turned on or off: when the constant current is on, if the pulse width modulation signal has a high-level logic, the constant current is output and loaded onto the load. When the constant current is disconnected, if the pulse width modulation signal has a low-level logic, the constant current is directly cut off from the load. Pulse width modulation belongs to the scope of the prior art.

[0156] See also Figure 5The most notable feature of the pulsed direct current VDC derived from alternating current is that in each cycle, the voltage must rise from the lowest value, i.e., the valley value, to the highest value, i.e., the peak value, and then the voltage must drop from the highest value, i.e., the peak value, to the lowest value, i.e., the valley value, over and over again. The core of the voltage regulation module 103 is that in the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current increases from low to high, the voltage drops of the various power consumption units 100 connected in series need to be adjusted. If the voltage regulation module 103 of each power consumption unit 100 controls its own voltage drop to increase at this stage, the sum of the voltage drops DIV1+DIV2+…+DIVN of all the various power consumption units 100 connected in series will also increase. This adjustment trend of the voltage drop is in line with the growth law of the pulsed direct current VDC at this stage. More importantly, in the series structure, since each power unit 100 has increased its own voltage drop, the voltage increase of the pulse direct current VDC cannot be concentrated in one or a few power units 100, but the voltage increase of the pulse direct current VDC is evenly distributed to each power unit 100. In the stage of dynamic pulsation of the pulse direct current VDC, this embodiment better solves the problem of increasing the voltage difference between the voltage drops DIV1, DIV2, ... DIVN. Therefore, the trend of increasing voltage of the pulse direct current will not only make one or a few power units become heat sources. In the series structure, the heat brought to the system by the pulse direct current is dispersed to each power unit. The reason is that each power unit 100 controls its own voltage drop to increase, which is equivalent to actively taking part of the heat to itself.

[0157] See also Figure 5 , although the voltage regulating module 103 has a voltage regulating function, if the voltage regulating module 103 continues to affect the voltage drop of the power unit 100, it will inevitably bring unavoidable disadvantages. Assuming that the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is restrained by the voltage regulating module 103 and cannot be adjusted during the voltage drop stage of the pulsating direct current, the sum of the voltage drops DIV1+DIV2+...+DIVN of all the power units 100 connected in series is also clamped. The irreversibility of the voltage drop does not conform to the decreasing law of the pulsed direct current VDC at this stage. For example, near the valley value of the pulsating direct current, the forced voltage regulation function of the voltage regulating module 103 will interfere with the normal operation of the power unit 100. At this time, the pulsating direct current drops to a very low voltage level, but the voltage regulating module 103 wants to maintain the original high voltage level. This contradiction will undoubtedly lead to systematic disorder between power supply and power consumption. Furthermore, from the perspective of power consumption, the voltage regulation module 103 which continuously raises the voltage will undoubtedly consume a great deal of energy and generate a very high temperature.

[0158] See also Figure 5, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC decreases from high to low, if the voltage regulating module 103 of the power unit 100 exits the control of its own voltage drop, for example, the first power unit 100 exits the control of its own voltage drop DIV1, the second power unit 100 exits the control of its own voltage drop DIV2, and so on until the Nth power unit 100 exits the control of its own voltage drop DIVN. Then the sum of the voltage drops of all the power units 100 connected in series DIV1+DIV2+…+DIVN is no longer clamped, and the adjustability of the voltage drop at this time conforms to the decreasing law of the pulsed direct current VDC at this stage. It is easy to understand that once the pulsating direct current drops to a very low voltage level and the voltage regulating module 103 is not allowed to disturb the voltage drop, the contradiction between supply and demand between power supply and power consumption is successfully solved and the power consumption problem of the voltage regulating module 103 is improved.

[0159] See also Figure 6 In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a voltage divider 105 connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. As shown in the figure, the voltage divider 105 with voltage dividing resistors R1 and R2 samples the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, and samples the voltage drop value at the interconnection node between the resistors R1 and R2. The voltage regulating module 103 includes a first resistor RL1 connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, a switch MQ, and a voltage stabilizing diode SR. The switch is usually a bipolar transistor or a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor. The positions of the switch, the first resistor, and the voltage stabilizing diode can be interchanged, such as the switch and the first resistor are interchanged, or the first resistor and the voltage stabilizing diode are interchanged, or the switch and the voltage stabilizing diode are interchanged, as long as the series relationship between them is retained.

[0160] See also Figure 6 , the control end of the switch MQ is the base of the bipolar transistor, or the control end of the switch MQ is the gate of the semiconductor field effect transistor. The first end of the switch MQ is coupled to the power input terminal through the first resistor RL1, and the corresponding second end of the switch is coupled to the cathode or negative electrode of the voltage-stabilizing diode SR. The anode or positive electrode of the voltage-stabilizing diode SR is coupled to the potential reference terminal. The first end and the second end of the switch MQ are, for example, the emitter and collector of the bipolar transistor, or the collector and emitter of the bipolar transistor, respectively. The first end and the second end of the switch MQ are also, for example, the drain and source of the field effect transistor, or the source and drain of the field effect transistor, respectively.

[0161] See also Figure 6In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a comparator A. The function of the comparator A is to compare the voltage division value obtained by the voltage divider 105 with the threshold voltage VTH, and the voltage division value and the threshold voltage VTH are respectively input to the positive input terminal and the negative input terminal of the voltage comparator A. When the voltage division value exceeds the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a high level and the output terminal of the comparator A is coupled to the control terminal of the switch MQ, so the switch MQ is turned on, so that the aforementioned voltage zener diode SR is turned on at this time and generates a current flowing through the first resistor RL1 and the switch MQ. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, because the voltage must rise from the lowest value, that is, the valley value, to the highest value, that is, the peak value, as the pulsating direct current increases, the voltage division value detected by the voltage divider 105 of each power unit also increases, so at this stage the switch MQ will be turned on, resulting in an increase in the voltage across the first resistor RL1. This voltage regulation behavior is equivalent to raising the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. If the comparison result is a low level and the output of the comparator A is coupled to the control end of the switch MQ, the switch MQ is turned off, so that the voltage regulator diode SR is turned off at this time and no current flows through the first resistor RL1 and the switch MQ. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage must drop from the highest value, i.e., the peak value, to the lowest value, i.e., the valley value. As the pulsating direct current decreases, the voltage divider value detected by the voltage divider 105 of each power unit also decreases. Therefore, the switch MQ will be turned off at this stage, causing the voltage regulating module 103 to lose the voltage regulating function. This is equivalent to the voltage regulating module 103 exiting the control of raising its own voltage drop when the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low.

[0162] See also Figure 6 In an optional example, the voltage regulation module 103 includes a comparator A. The comparator A still compares the voltage division value obtained by the voltage divider 105 with the threshold voltage VTH. The voltage division value and the threshold voltage VTH can be input to the inverting input terminal and the non-inverting input terminal of the voltage comparator A respectively. In this example, the switch MQ is modified to be turned on under the control of a low level and turned off under the control of a high level. When the voltage division value exceeds the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a low level and the output terminal of the comparator A is coupled to the control terminal of the switch MQ, so the switch MQ is turned on. In this case, the voltage division value of the voltage divider 105 of each power consumption unit often increases with the increase of the pulsating direct current. When a completely opposite result is produced, the reaction of the voltage regulation module is analyzed again. When the voltage division value is lower than the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a high level and the output terminal of the comparator A is coupled to the control terminal of the switch MQ, so the switch MQ is turned off. In this case, the voltage division value of the voltage divider 105 of each power consumption unit often decreases with the decrease of the pulsating direct current. Whether the switch is turned on at a high level or at a low level depends on the type selected, such as an N-type transistor or a P-type transistor.

[0163] See also Figure 6 In an optional example, in the increasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage divider 105 of each power unit detects an increase in the voltage divider value as the pulsating direct current increases, so the switch MQ is turned on at this stage, causing the voltage regulation module 103 to start controlling its own voltage drop. This voltage regulation control is equivalent to activating the voltage regulation module 103 in the voltage increasing stage of the pulsating direct current. It can be considered that in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current increases from low to high, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeds a preset voltage value, the voltage regulation module of the power unit in the series structure is enabled and further controls its own voltage drop to be raised. The voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeding the preset voltage value is sufficient to trigger the switch MQ of each power unit to be turned on. Note that the time node when the voltage regulation module of the power unit controls its own voltage drop to be raised may occur at any time in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC increases from low to high, and this time node is also the time point when the switch MQ is turned on.

[0164] See also Figure 6 In an optional example, in the decreasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, since the voltage divider 105 of each power unit detects a voltage drop as the pulsating direct current decreases, the switch MQ is turned off at this stage, and the voltage regulating module 103 begins to exit the control of the voltage drop. This voltage regulation behavior may lower the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, because in some scenarios the switch MQ is turned off, causing the first resistor RL1 to cut off the current and the voltage drop of the first resistor RL1 to drop sharply. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current is lower than the preset voltage value, the voltage regulating module of the power unit in the series structure is exited from the control of raising its own voltage drop. The voltage of the pulsating direct current being lower than the preset voltage value is sufficient to trigger the switch MQ of each power unit to be turned off. The time node at which the voltage regulation module of the power unit exits the control of raising its own voltage drop may occur at any time during the stage when the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC decreases from high to low. This time node is also the time point when the switch MQ is turned off.

[0165] See also Figure 7In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a second resistor RL2 and a Zener diode ZR and a junction field effect transistor JFET connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal. The control terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND, and the second terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET is also coupled to the potential reference terminal GND through the clamping resistor R3. The first terminal and the second terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET are, for example, a drain and a source, or a source and a drain, respectively. The control terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET is, for example, a gate control terminal of a depletion-type junction field effect transistor. The Zener diode ZR and the second resistor RL2 are connected in series between the first terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET and the power input terminal VCC. The cathode or negative electrode of the Zener diode ZR is coupled to the power input terminal through the second resistor RL2, and the anode or positive electrode of the Zener diode ZR is coupled to the first terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET. In essence, the positions of the Zener diode ZR and the second resistor RL2 can be interchanged. For example, the cathode or negative electrode of the Zener diode ZR is coupled to the power input terminal, and the anode or positive electrode of the Zener diode ZR is coupled to the first terminal of the junction field effect transistor JFET through the second resistor RL2.

[0166] See also Figure 7 In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 of the power unit 100 is turned on only when the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is not lower than the critical voltage and is sufficient to cause the Zener diode ZR to be reversely broken down. The opposite situation is that when the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is lower than the critical voltage, the Zener diode ZR is cut off and not turned on. There is no doubt that the voltage regulating module 103 of the power unit 100 is turned off at this time. The critical voltage, also known as the breakdown voltage, is a prerequisite for determining whether the Zener diode ZR is turned on. The voltage drop exceeding the critical voltage of the Zener diode ZR means that the Zener diode ZR is turned on, and there is current between the junction field effect transistor JFET and the second resistor RL2. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage must rise from the lowest value, that is, the valley value, to the highest value, that is, the peak value. Since the voltage drop of each power unit 100 increases with the increase of the voltage of the pulsating direct current, the Zener diode ZR described in this stage will be turned on, thereby causing the voltage across the second resistor RL2 to increase. This voltage regulation behavior is equivalent to raising the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND.

[0167] See also Figure 7In an optional example, if the voltage drop does not exceed the critical voltage of the Zener diode ZR, it means that the Zener diode ZR is turned off, and there is no current in the junction field effect transistor JFET and the second resistor RL2. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, because the voltage must drop from the highest value, that is, the peak value, to the lowest value, that is, the valley value, and as the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases, the voltage drop borne by each power unit 100 also decreases, the Zener diode ZR described in this stage will be turned off, causing the voltage regulating module 103 to lose the voltage regulating function. This is equivalent to the voltage regulating module 103 exiting the control of raising the voltage drop when the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low.

[0168] See also Figure 7 , if the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is sufficient to cause the Zener diode ZR to break down and conduct, since the second end of the junction field effect transistor JFET is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND through the clamping resistor R3, the current flows from the second end of the junction field effect transistor JFET to the clamping resistor R3. The forward voltage across the clamping resistor R3 is regarded as the source-gate voltage or the drain-gate voltage of the junction field effect transistor JFET. Note that the forward voltage across the clamping resistor R3 has the opposite sign to the gate-source voltage or the gate-drain voltage of the junction field effect transistor. When the current flowing through the clamping resistor R3 changes to the voltage across the clamping resistor just equal to the pinch-off voltage of the junction field effect transistor, the junction field effect transistor JFET will almost enter the pinch-off state and provide a small amount of leakage current to maintain the voltage across the clamping resistor R3 equal to the pinch-off voltage.

[0169] See also Figure 7 In an optional example, in the increasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage value borne by the Zener diode ZR of each power unit increases as the pulsating direct current increases, so the Zener diode ZR is turned on at this stage, causing the voltage regulation module 103 to start controlling its own voltage drop. This voltage regulation control is equivalent to enabling the voltage regulation module 103 in the voltage increasing stage of the pulsating direct current. It can be considered that in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current increases from low to high, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeds a preset voltage value, the voltage regulation module of the power unit in the series structure is enabled and further controls its own voltage drop to be raised. The voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeding the preset voltage value is sufficient to trigger the Zener diode ZR of each power unit to be turned on. The time node at which the voltage regulation module of the power unit controls its own voltage drop to be raised may occur at any time in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC increases from low to high, and this time node is the time point when the Zener diode ZR is turned on.

[0170] See also Figure 7In an optional example, in the decreasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, since the voltage value borne by the Zener diode ZR of each power unit is also reduced as the pulsating direct current decreases, the Zener diode ZR is cut off at this stage, and the voltage regulating module 103 begins to exit the control of the voltage drop. This voltage regulation behavior may lower the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, because in some cases the Zener diode ZR is cut off to cut off the second resistor RL2 and the voltage drop of the second resistor RL2 drops sharply. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current is lower than the preset voltage value, the voltage regulating module of the power unit in the series structure is exited from the control of raising its own voltage drop. The voltage of the pulsating direct current is lower than the preset voltage value, which is sufficient to trigger the Zener diode ZR of each power unit to be cut off. The time node at which the voltage regulation module of the power unit exits the control of raising its own voltage drop may occur at any moment in the stage when the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC decreases from high to low. This time node is the time point when the Zener diode ZR is turned off.

[0171] See also Figure 8 It is known that the pulsed direct current VDC derived from alternating current has a pulsating characteristic. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current increases from low to high, the voltage drops of the many power units 100 connected in series are actively adjusted, and the voltage regulating module 103 of each power unit 100 is designed to control its own voltage drop to increase at this stage. In the series structure, each power unit 100 has raised its own voltage drop, so the voltage part increased by the pulsed direct current VDC can no longer be concentrated in one or a few power units 100, but the voltage of the pulsed direct current VDC is evenly distributed to each power unit 100. The shaded part indicates that although the voltage value of the pulsed direct current VDC is increasing, the difference between the voltage drops DIV1, DIV2, ... DIVN of each power unit is already very small. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current decreases from high to low, the voltage drops of the many power units 100 connected in series are still adjusted, and the voltage regulating module 103 of each power unit 100 is designed to exit the upward control of its own voltage drop at this stage. The shaded part of the pulsed direct current in the figure shows that the voltage regulation module is controlling its own voltage drop to increase, and the non-shaded part of the pulsed direct current in the figure shows that the voltage regulation module has withdrawn from the upward control of its own voltage drop. The pulsating voltage causes each power unit to control its own voltage drop to increase in the shaded part that is higher than the preset voltage value, and the power unit withdraws from the upward control of its own voltage drop in the non-shaded part that is lower than the preset voltage value. The horizontal line VH superimposed on the pulsating voltage waveform in the figure to divide the shaded part and the non-shaded part represents the size of the preset voltage value.

[0172] See also Fig. 9 , depicts a waveform diagram of the pulsed direct current VDC in one cycle. The waveform diagram of the current IS represents the series current flowing through the many power units 100 connected in series. The total input current and the total output current of each power unit 100 are equal to the current IS. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current VDC increases from low to high, the voltage regulation module 103 of each power unit controls its own voltage drop to increase, and the current IS also increases accordingly, because the voltage regulation module 103 is activated and generates a current flowing through the voltage regulation module 103. The raising behavior of the series current may occur at any time in the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current increases from low to high. Due to the pulsating characteristics of the pulsating voltage itself, in contrast, in the stage where the voltage of the pulsed direct current VDC decreases from high to low, the voltage regulation module 103 of each power unit exits the control of raising its own voltage drop, and the current IS decreases accordingly, because the voltage regulation module 103 is disabled by sleep mode and reduces the current flowing through the voltage regulation module 103. The reduction of the series current may occur at any time during the stage when the voltage of the pulsating DC decreases from high to low. In the system adapted to pulsating DC, from the perspective of power supply and power consumption, the system input current waveform basically follows the system input voltage waveform, that is, the input current and voltage are almost of the same frequency and phase, which can maximize the active power drawn from the power supply, have a higher power factor and have a better total harmonic distortion index. In some examples, if the voltage regulation module is not introduced and the series current is allowed to continue to be a constant current, the power factor will be lacking. More importantly, since the voltage converter link between AC and DC is abandoned, the problems of electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility are perfectly solved.

[0173] See also Fig.10 In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a voltage divider 105 connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. As shown in the figure, the voltage divider 105 with voltage dividing resistors R1 and R2 samples the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, and obtains the divided voltage value of the voltage drop at the interconnection node between the resistors R1 and R2. The voltage regulating module 103 includes a third resistor RL3 and a current source CS2 connected in series between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, and the positions of the two can be interchanged as long as the series relationship between the two is retained.

[0174] See also Fig.10In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a comparator A. The function of the comparator A is to compare the voltage division value obtained by the voltage divider 105 with the threshold voltage VTH. The voltage division value and the threshold voltage VTH are respectively input to the positive input terminal and the negative input terminal of the voltage comparator A. If the voltage division value exceeds the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a high level and the output result of the comparator A is used to control the current source CS2, and the current source CS2 is turned on, so that a current flowing through the third resistor RL3 and the current source CS2 is generated at this time. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage will inevitably rise from the lowest value, that is, the valley value, to the highest value, that is, the peak value. As the voltage increases, the voltage division value detected by the voltage divider 105 of the power unit also increases. Therefore, at this stage, the current source CS2 will be turned on, which directly causes the voltage value across the third resistor RL3 to increase synchronously, and the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND is raised. If the above comparison result is a low level and the current source CS2 is turned off, so that the current source CS2 is cut off at this time and no current flows through the third resistor RL3 and the current source CS2. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage will inevitably drop from the highest value, that is, the peak value, to the lowest value, that is, the valley value. As the pulsating voltage decreases, the voltage divider value detected by the voltage divider 105 also decreases. Therefore, at this stage, the current source CS2 will be cut off and directly induce the voltage value at both ends of the third resistor RL3 to decrease synchronously, causing the voltage regulation module 103 to lose the voltage regulation function. It is equivalent to the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low, and the voltage regulation module 103 exits the control of raising its own voltage drop.

[0175] See also Fig.10In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a comparator A. Comparator A still compares the voltage division value obtained by the voltage divider 105 and the threshold voltage VTH. The voltage division value and the threshold voltage VTH can be input to the inverting input terminal and the non-inverting input terminal of the voltage comparator A respectively. In this example, the current source CS2 is changed to be turned on under the control of a low level and turned off under the control of a high level. If the voltage division value exceeds the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a low level and the output result of the comparator A is used to control the current source CS2, and the current source CS2 is turned on. In this case, the voltage division value of the voltage divider 105 of each power unit is often increased as the pulsating direct current increases. When a completely opposite result is produced, the reaction of the voltage regulating module is analyzed again. When the voltage division value is lower than the threshold voltage VTH, the comparison result is a high level and the output result of the comparator A still controls the current source CS2, and the current source CS2 is turned off. In this case, the voltage division value of the voltage divider 105 of each power unit is often reduced as the pulsating direct current decreases. The current source CS2 is allowed to be connected in series with a switch not shown in the figure and the comparator A controls the switch to be turned on or off. This is still an example of the comparator determining whether the current source is turned on. The current source CS2 and the switch connected in series are considered as a whole. Or the current source CS2 itself is also allowed to have a switch not shown in the figure and the comparator A controls the switch to be turned on or off. If the switch is turned on, it means that the current source outputs a constant current, and if the switch is turned off, it means that the current source has no current output. This is still an example of the comparator determining whether the current source is turned on. The current source CS2 and the switch it carries are considered as a whole. Take a current source such as a voltage-to-current converter (V / I converter) with an operational amplifier and a power tube as an example: the output end of the operational amplifier is coupled to the control end of the power tube and the operational amplifier controls the size of the constant current output by the power tube. The power tube is commonly a bipolar transistor and a field effect tube. For example, the switch of the voltage-to-current converter can be set between the output end of the operational amplifier and the control end of the power tube, or the switch of the voltage-to-current converter can be set at the current inflow end of the power tube or at the current outflow end of the power tube. The comparator A controls the on or off of the switch. If the switch is turned on, it means that the current source outputs a constant current, and if the switch is turned off, it means that the current source has no current output. Therefore, how to use the comparison result and other similar signals to turn off or on the current source CS2 can be realized with the help of existing technology.

[0176] See also Fig.10In an optional example, in the increasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage divider 105 of each power unit detects an increase in the voltage divider value as the pulsating direct current increases, so the current source CS2 is turned on at this stage, so that the voltage regulating module 103 starts to control its own voltage drop. This voltage regulation control is equivalent to enabling the voltage regulating module 103 in the voltage increasing stage of the pulsating direct current. It can be considered that in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current increases from low to high, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeds a preset voltage value, the voltage regulating module of the power unit in the series structure is enabled and further controls its own voltage drop to be raised. The voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeding the preset voltage value is sufficient to trigger the current source CS2 of each power unit to be turned on. Note that the time node when the voltage regulating module of the power unit controls its own voltage drop to be raised may occur at any time in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC increases from low to high, and this time node is the time point when the current source CS2 is turned on.

[0177] See also Fig.10 In an optional example, in the decreasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage divider 105 of each power unit detects a voltage drop as the pulsating direct current decreases, so at this stage the current source CS2 is turned off and the voltage regulating module 103 begins to exit the control of the voltage drop. This voltage regulation behavior may lower the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, because in some scenarios the current source CS2 is turned off and the third resistor RL3 is cut off and the voltage drop of the third resistor RL3 drops sharply. In the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current is lower than the preset voltage value, the voltage regulating module of the power unit in the series structure is exited from the control of raising its own voltage drop. The voltage of the pulsating direct current being lower than the preset voltage value is sufficient to trigger the current source CS2 of each power unit to be turned off. The time node at which the voltage regulation module of the power unit exits the control of raising its own voltage drop may occur at any time during the stage when the voltage of the pulsating direct current VDC decreases from high to low. This time node is also the time point when the current source CS2 is turned off.

[0178] See also Fig.11In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 includes a fourth resistor RL4 and a series of Zener diodes ZR and a current source CS3 connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal. The positions of the three can be interchanged as long as the series relationship between the three is maintained. The number of Zener diodes ZR connected in series can be designed according to actual needs. Generally, the more Zener diodes ZR connected in series, the higher the critical voltage required for reverse breakdown. On the contrary, the fewer Zener diodes ZR connected in series, the lower the critical voltage required for reverse breakdown. For example, the cathode or negative electrode of the Zener diode ZR is coupled to the power input terminal through the fourth resistor RL4, and the current source CS3 is set between the anode or positive electrode of the Zener diode ZR and the potential reference terminal. Note that this is only an optional example of the three being connected in series. Figure 7 A larger number of Zener diodes ZR may also be used.

[0179] See also Fig.11 In an optional example, the voltage regulating module 103 of the power unit 100 is turned on only when the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is not lower than the critical voltage and is sufficient to cause the Zener diode ZR to be reversely broken down. The opposite situation is that when the voltage drop of the power unit 100 is lower than the critical voltage, the Zener diode ZR is cut off and not turned on. There is no doubt that the voltage regulating module 103 of the power unit 100 is turned off at this time. The reasonable critical voltage designed in advance is a prerequisite for determining whether the Zener diode ZR is turned on. The voltage drop exceeding the critical voltage of the Zener diode ZR means that the Zener diode ZR is turned on, and the Zener diode ZR, the current source CS3, and the fourth resistor RL4 have current. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage will inevitably rise from the lowest value, that is, the valley value, to the highest value, that is, the peak value. Since the voltage drop of each power unit 100 increases with the increase of the voltage of the pulsating direct current, the Zener diode ZR described in this stage will be turned on, thereby causing the voltage across the fourth resistor RL4 to increase. The voltage regulator module and the current source are turned on because the voltage of the pulsating DC rises to a voltage drop higher than the critical voltage. This voltage regulation behavior is equivalent to raising the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND.

[0180] See also Fig.11In the optional example, if the voltage drop does not exceed the critical voltage of the Zener diode ZR, it means that the Zener diode ZR is cut off, and there is no current in the Zener diode ZR, the current source CS3, and the fourth resistor RL4. In each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage will inevitably drop from the highest value, that is, the peak value, to the lowest value, that is, the valley value. As the voltage of the pulsating direct current decreases, the voltage drop borne by each power unit 100 also decreases. Therefore, the Zener diode ZR described in this stage will be turned off, causing the voltage regulating module 103 to lose the voltage regulating function. The reason why the voltage regulating module and the current source are turned off is that the voltage of the pulsating direct current drops to a voltage drop lower than the critical voltage. It is equivalent to that in the stage where the pulsating direct current decreases from high to low, the voltage regulating module 103 exits the control of raising the voltage drop.

[0181] See also Fig.11 In an optional example, in the increasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, since the voltage value borne by the Zener diode ZR of each power unit increases with the increase of the pulsating direct current, the Zener diode ZR will be turned on at this stage to enable the voltage regulation module 103 to start controlling its own voltage drop. This voltage regulation control is equivalent to enabling the voltage regulation module 103 in the voltage increasing stage of the pulsating direct current. It can be considered that in the stage where the voltage of the pulsating direct current increases from low to high, for example, when the voltage of the pulsating direct current exceeds a preset voltage value, the voltage regulation module of the power unit in the series structure is enabled to further control its own voltage drop to be raised.

[0182] See also Fig.11In an optional example, in the decreasing stage of each cycle of the pulsating direct current, the voltage value borne by the Zener diode ZR of each power unit is also reduced as the pulsating direct current decreases, so at this stage the Zener diode ZR is cut off and the voltage regulating module 103 begins to exit the control of the voltage drop. This voltage regulation behavior may lower the voltage drop between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND, because in some cases the Zener diode ZR is cut off to cut off the fourth resistor RL4 and the voltage drop of the fourth resistor RL4 drops sharply.

[0183] See also Fig.11 , the constant current unit and the current source are also called the constant current source module (Current Source) and the generated stable reference current or constant current is regarded as the driving current. The load and the constant current source module are connected in series to stabilize the current of the load so as to achieve the purpose of constant current control. Or the constant current source module is matched by the current mirror structure so that the current flowing through the current mirror is either equal to the reference current or proportional to the reference current. The current mirror (Current Mirror) is a specific form of the constant current source module and its mirror current is equal to or proportional to the input reference current. The characteristic is that the mirror current flowing through the current mirror is to copy or copy the reference current input to it in a certain proportion. Then the mirror current is made to flow through the load and the load can also be driven by constant current. In this application, any circuit that can generate a stable reference current or a constant current can be attributed to the definition of the constant current unit CS1 or the current source CS2-CS3. Constant current source modules such as voltage-current converters are optional examples of constant current units or current sources. It can be seen that the circuit topology of the constant current unit or current source that generates a constant output current shown in the figure is not unique in essence but diversified.

[0184] See also Fig.12, the power unit 100 described above takes the driving circuit as an example, which can provide a constant current to the load LOAD so as to implement constant current driving on the load. The driving circuit usually appears in the form of an integrated circuit or a chip. The load LOAD and the constant current unit CS1 recorded in the above text are connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. In fact, if the load is abandoned, the constant current unit CS1 can also be connected between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. In this example, it is allowed that the load and the constant current unit that coexist at the same time are connected in series between the power input terminal and the potential reference terminal, and it is also allowed that the constant current unit that exists alone is directly connected between the power input terminal and the potential reference terminal.

[0185] See also Fig.12 , many LEDs are connected in series to form a LED string. The figure shows the first LED string LED-STRING1, the second LED string LED-STRING2, and the third LED string LED-STRING3. Note that the number of LED strings is not limited, and the number of LEDs connected in series within each LED string is also not limited. The three LED strings shown in the figure are only for demonstration and do not constitute any specific limitation. The LED is, for example, a solid-state light source such as a white light diode.

[0186] See also Fig.12 , multiple power consumption units 100 are connected in series with two driving circuits and three groups of light-emitting diode strings as shown in the figure. The anode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING1 is coupled to the positive pole VP of the power supply and the cathode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING1 is coupled to the power input terminal VCC of the first power consumption unit 100. The anode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING2 is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the first power consumption unit 100 and the cathode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING2 is coupled to the power input terminal VCC of the second power consumption unit 100. The anode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING3 is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the second power consumption unit 100 and the cathode of the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING3 is coupled to the negative pole VN of the power supply. This is an optional embodiment in which multiple driving circuits are connected in series with one or more groups of light-emitting diode strings.

[0187] See also Fig.12, the LED string LED-STRING1 can be swapped with the first power unit 100, and the LED string LED-STRING3 can be swapped with the second power unit 100. For example, it can be modified so that the power input terminal VCC of the first power unit 100 is connected to the positive electrode VP, the potential reference terminal GND of the second power unit 100 is connected to the negative electrode VN, and the three LED strings LED-STRING1 to LED-STRING3 are connected in series between the potential reference terminal GND of the first power unit 100 and the power input terminal VCC of the second power unit 100. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits connected in series with multiple LED strings.

[0188] See also Fig.12 , the LED string LED-STRING1 can be swapped with the first power unit 100, or the LED string LED-STRING3 can be swapped with the second power unit 100. For example, the power input terminal VCC of the first power unit 100 is connected to the positive electrode VP. The anode of the LED string LED-STRING1 is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the first power unit 100, and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING1 is coupled to the anode of the LED string LED-STRING2, and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING2 is coupled to the power input terminal VCC of the second power unit 100. The anode of the LED string LED-STRING3 is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the second power unit 100, and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING3 is coupled to the negative electrode VN of the power supply. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits connected in series with multiple groups of LED strings.

[0189] See also Fig.12, the LED string LED-STRING1 can be swapped with the first power unit 100, or the LED string LED-STRING3 can be swapped with the second power unit 100. For example, the anode of the LED string LED-STRING1 is connected to the positive pole VP and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING1 is connected to the power input terminal VCC of the first power unit 100. And the anode of the LED string LED-STRING2 is coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the first power unit 100 and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING2 is coupled to the anode of the LED string LED-STRING3, and the cathode of the LED string LED-STRING3 is coupled to the power input terminal VCC of the second power unit 100. The potential reference terminal of the second power unit 100 is coupled to the negative pole VN of the power supply. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits connected in series with multiple groups of LED strings.

[0190] See also Fig.12 In an alternative example, the LED string LED-STRING1 can be discarded and modified to allow the power input terminal VCC of the first power consumption unit 100 in the figure to be directly coupled to the positive electrode VP. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits and multiple LED strings connected in series.

[0191] See also Fig.12 In an optional example, the LED string LED-STRING2 can be abandoned and modified to allow the power input terminal VCC of the second power unit 100 in the figure to be directly coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the first power unit 100. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits and multiple LED strings connected in series.

[0192] See also Fig.12 In an optional example, the LED string LED-STRING3 can be discarded and modified to allow the potential reference terminal GND of the second power consumption unit 100 in the figure to be directly coupled to the negative electrode VN. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits and multiple LED strings connected in series.

[0193] See also Fig.12 In an optional example, the LED string LED-STRING1 can be discarded, and at the same time, the LED string LED-STRING3 can also be discarded. In the figure, the power input terminal of the first power unit 100 is directly coupled to the positive electrode VP, and the potential reference terminal of the second power unit 100 is directly coupled to the negative electrode VN. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits connected in series with one or more groups of LED strings.

[0194] See also Fig.13In an optional example, the first power consumption unit 100 connected between the LED strings LED-STRING1 and LED-STRING2 can be replaced with multiple power consumption units 100 connected in series between the LED strings LED-STRING1 and LED-STRING2. This is still an example of connecting multiple driving circuits and multiple LED strings in series.

[0195] See also Fig.13 In an optional example, the second power consumption unit 100 connected between the LED strings LED-STRING2 and LED-STRING3 can be replaced with multiple power consumption units 100: multiple power consumption units 100 connected in series are connected between the LED strings LED-STRING2 and LED-STRING3. This is still an example of multiple driving circuits connected in series with multiple LED strings.

[0196] See also Fig.13 , in summary: multiple power units 100 connected in series are connected in series with one or more groups of the light-emitting diode strings. Multiple power units 100 can be gathered together without being dispersed by the light-emitting diode strings, that is, no light-emitting diode strings are inserted between multiple power units 100, and multiple power units 100 can be dispersed among many light-emitting diode strings, that is, light-emitting diode strings are inserted between multiple power units 100. For example, in multiple power units 100 connected in series, the power input terminal VCC of the latter power unit 100 can be directly coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the previous power unit 100, and this situation is met when the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING2 is discarded. This situation is met when the power input terminal VCC of the latter power unit 100 is indirectly coupled to the potential reference terminal GND of the previous power unit 100 through the light-emitting diode string, and the light-emitting diode string LED-STRING2 is retained. LED strings can be interspersed between multiple power consumption units, and power consumption units can be interspersed between multiple groups of LED strings. The total current IS represents the current flowing through all power consumption units and the current flowing through all LED strings.

[0197] See also Fig.13, assuming that the power unit 100 drives this type of load with light-emitting diode pixels, if a large number of power units 100 are gathered together and not dispersed by the light-emitting diode string, the load LOAD and the constant current unit are preferably connected in series between the power input terminal VCC and the potential reference terminal GND. This is to avoid the formation of a large number of black spots without light sources at the power unit 100, because the load LOAD can use a light source load. It should be noted that when the constant current device and the light-emitting diode string are connected in series and then the power supply voltage is used to drive the light-emitting diode string and the constant current device, the physical characteristics of the light-emitting diode string determine an unavoidable negative drawback: the voltage increase during the small fluctuation stage of the power supply voltage is mostly borne by the constant current device. At the same time, even if the power supply voltage has a small fluctuation, the increase in the voltage part borne by the light-emitting diode string is relatively negligible, which is easy to damage the constant current device. In the present application, the power unit 100 is connected in series with one or more groups of light-emitting diode strings. Most of the voltage increase of the pulsating direct current voltage during the pulsating fluctuation stage is applied to the power unit 100. The power unit 100 actively increases its own voltage drop and allows the voltage increase of the pulsating direct current to be shared by each power unit 100. This voltage regulation scheme not only protects the power unit 100 from being easily damaged, but also solves the problem that the voltage increase of the pulsating direct current is always concentrated at one or a few power units. The power unit 100, which is the main heat source, is also dispersed. The high-temperature aggregation effect that can easily accelerate the aging process of solid-state light source loads and easily damage the power unit itself is eliminated. Under the condition of pulsating voltage supply, each power unit will increase its own voltage drop while also adjusting the string current. When each power unit withdraws from the control of raising its own voltage drop, it will also adjust the string current downward. The change in the size of the string current almost follows the change in the size of the pulsating voltage and maximizes the active power drawn from the power supply. This is in line with the industry's goal of improving power factor and reducing harmonic pollution to the power grid. The system's access to the power grid will purify the grid. Even without the introduction of traditional active power factor correction circuits or passive power factor correction circuits, it still has better power factor values and total harmonic distortion indicators.

[0198] See also Fig.13In this embodiment and the embodiments described above, most of them are powered by a DC voltage source for multiple power units connected in series. The DC voltage source is explained with a pulsating DC power VDC as the main example. In fact, a stable voltage in the form of a non-pulsating voltage can also be regarded as a DC voltage source to power multiple power units connected in series. A typical example is that a stable voltage provided by the voltage converter DC described above is used to power multiple power units connected in series. Note that the stable voltage here is relative to the pulsating voltage, and the voltage value of the stable voltage is also allowed to be adjustable. For example, the voltage converter outputs a stable voltage with different voltage levels to power the power units connected in series. However, unlike the pulsating voltage, the voltage magnitude and direction of the stable voltage hardly change transiently with the change of time. The technical features of the power unit in the pulsating voltage power supply mode are also applicable to the stable voltage power supply mode. For example, under the premise that multiple drive circuits are connected in series, a stable voltage or a pulsating voltage can be used to power multiple drive circuits: when the voltage of the stable voltage or the pulsating voltage is not lower than a preset voltage value, the voltage regulation module will be activated, so that the voltage regulation module of each drive circuit controls its own voltage drop to be raised. Alternatively, when the voltage of the stable voltage or the pulsating voltage is lower than the preset voltage value, the voltage regulating module will be dormant and disabled. At this time, the voltage regulating module of each driving circuit no longer controls its own voltage drop. Voltage sources such as pulsating voltage or stable voltage can supply power to the power consumption unit. The horizontal line VH superimposed on the pulsating voltage waveform represents the size of the preset voltage value, see Figure 8 The waveform segment where the pulsating voltage is above the horizontal line is represented by the shaded portion, while the waveform segment where the pulsating voltage is below the horizontal line is represented by the non-shaded portion. The pulsating voltage in the shaded portion that is higher than the preset voltage value causes each driving circuit to control its own voltage drop to increase, and the pulsating voltage in the non-shaded portion that is lower than the preset voltage value causes the driving circuit to exit the control of increasing its own voltage drop.
