Abstract
Description
Background Art
[0001] There are special requirements for the manufacture and assembly of valves with a valve body which also has an inlet port or an outlet port oriented transversely to the valve axis. Such a valve is disclosed in DE 10 2015 211 599 A1. For such valves, oriented assembly is usually necessary so that the transversely oriented ports of the valve body and the ports of the associated channels in the housing are connected in such a way that these ports can penetrate each other. Summary of the invention
[0002] It is an object of the present invention to provide a device and a valve which can be assembled easily and inexpensively.
[0003] This object is achieved according to the subject matter of claim 1 .
[0004] According to the invention, a device having a component and a valve housing is provided, the device having the following features:
[0005] The valve housing is seated in a bore of a component and is at least partially enclosed by the wall of the component. The component is, for example, a housing of a transmission or a hub of a rotating component. The component is made of steel or, for example, an aluminum alloy.
[0006] - The valve housing is provided with at least two first ports which are circumferentially adjacent to each other around an axially oriented centre axis of the valve housing. The first ports are oriented transversely, ie radially in the direction of the centre axis.
[0007] - adjacent first ports are each defined in each circumferential direction about the center axis by a common bridge portion of the valve housing, which bridge portion is arranged on the circumferential side between the first ports. The first ports are thus delimited on the circumferential side on the one hand by such a bridge portion and are separated from one another by the bridge portion on the other hand. The respective bridge portion is preferably made of the same material as the valve housing and is preferably formed integrally with the valve housing.
[0008] The component has at least one first channel with a first channel port. The flow medium flows via the channel to the first port or out of the first port.
[0009] The first channel port and at least one cross section of at least one of the first ports are positioned diametrically opposite each other so that a radial first passage through which a flow medium can pass is formed between the channel and the interior of the valve through the first channel opening and the first opening.
[0010] A maximum bridge width oriented on a circumferential side of the bridge between two of the ports is smaller than a maximum channel port width of the first channel port measured on a circumferential side in the same circumferential direction.
[0011] Typically, the passage for the flow medium through the valve is axial. This means that the flow medium flows into the front port of the valve and leaves the valve at the rear. The flow medium is, for example, oil, preferably gear oil. However, there are also devices in which the pressure of the flow medium between the longitudinal channel and the transverse channel or the flow direction of the flow medium must be controlled. In this case, for example, the valve has a longitudinally oriented port and at least one transversely oriented port. Transverse is observed in the radial direction relative to the axially aligned valve axis. It is relatively complicated to assemble such a valve into a device or component because the transversely oriented port must be accurately aligned with respect to the transverse channel so that the flow medium can flow through the port into the transverse channel unimpeded, or vice versa. The problem with this is that even a slight inadvertent rotation of the valve around its own axis will produce a circumferential lateral offset between the passage cross section of the port and the channel, thereby creating a risk that not enough flow medium can pass.
[0012] Therefore, it is necessary to find means to align the valve precisely in its position during assembly so that there is a correspondence between the transverse channel and the flow cross section of the transversely oriented port in the valve. The investment required for such a positionally oriented assembly is relatively high. The arrangement according to the invention avoids this investment.
[0013] Adjacent first ports are defined by a shared bridge portion in each circumferential direction around the central axis. At the same time, the maximum bridge portion width oriented on the circumferential side of the bridge portion between two ports in the port is less than the minimum channel port width measured on the circumferential side along the same circumferential direction of the first channel port. Even if the valve is inserted into the component without being assembled around the central axis, the channel port will not be completely covered when the bridge portion is in an unfavorable position relative to the channel port. This may not even be the case in the case where one of the bridge portions in the bridge portion is directly radially opposite to the channel port. In any case, sufficient flow medium can pass through the first channel and the port without inserting the valve oriented around its central axis into the hole of the component. As provided in one embodiment of the present invention, this is particularly ensured when the width of the bridge portion does not exceed one-third of the channel port.
[0014] In one embodiment of the invention, the valve housing fits tightly in the bore of the component, wherein at least two of the first ports are partially or completely closed by the component. The tight guidance of the valve housing in the component ensures that the flow medium actually flows into and out of the valve only via the ports provided for this purpose and that no leakage losses occur.
[0015] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the valve housing is provided with at least three first ports arranged on the circumferential side. As mentioned before, the width of the bridge is also based on how wide the channel port is. Therefore, the width of the bridge is limited. In the case where the valve housing is only provided with two of the first ports, it can be concluded that each of the first ports with twice the width of the bridge must extend almost half of the circumference. However, this may also lead to an unstable design of the valve housing. In this case, the upper part of the valve housing and the lower part of the valve housing will be connected only by two bridges. Compared with the entire circumference of the valve housing, these bridges are formed very narrow. Because the valve housing is preferably made of sheet metal by cold forming, the cross section of the bridge can also be formed to have a small plate thickness. For example, if the valve must be pressed into the component, this may lead to an undesirable deformation of the valve housing in the region of the bridge during the pressing. The method for manufacturing such a valve housing generally also provides a transverse stamping of the first port. For processing reasons and dimensional stability, this method requires a minimum cross section of the bridge. Therefore, one embodiment of the present invention provides more than two first ports, such as at least three first ports. This increases the number of bridges and the bridge area between the upper and lower parts of the valve is more stable.
[0016] Based on this, one embodiment of the present invention provides that the valve housing is provided with at least three of the first ports and associated bridges distributed at equal circumferential pitches in the circumferential direction of the valve housing. Therefore, the valve housing is divided into a number of circumferential parts corresponding to the number N of first ports plus a circumferential part corresponding to the same number N of bridges in the bridging area. Therefore, in the case of N=3 first ports and N=3 bridges, this means a division into six circumferential parts. The circumferential pitch UT is an arc measure of a pitch circle, which describes the width of the first port at its narrowest point in the circumferential direction, and the pitch circle is located on the full circle circumference AU of the central axis where the narrowest point of the first port is located. Therefore, the circumferential pitch is the circumferential width of the first port measured at its narrowest point between its two bridges that define the first port.
[0017] The following applies: AU-((N×UT)+(N×ST) corresponds to the value 0. AU is the full circumference AU of the valve housing at the narrowest point. N corresponds to the number of first ports in the valve housing and the same number N of defined bridges. ST represents the width of the bridge measured in radians and is also measured over the full circumference AU like the circumferential pitch. The uniform distribution of the first ports on the circumference, the equal size of the bridges with respect to one another, and advantageously the equal width of the first ports in the circumferential direction ensure the same flow cross section from the entry of the component into the valve at any position of the valve housing to the passage to the first channel. The uniform distribution of the first ports and bridges on the circumferential side and the resulting symmetry also facilitate the manufacture of such a valve housing.
[0018] One embodiment of the present invention provides at least one second port in the valve housing axially facing the second channel port of the second channel, so that an axial second passage through which a flow medium can pass is formed between the second channel and the interior of the valve housing.
[0019] The first port is oriented transversely to the second port and is preferably introduced into the valve housing made of sheet metal by stamping. The first port extends in an axial direction at a radial distance from the valve axis. The center axis of the respective first port extends in a radial direction perpendicular to the center axis. The valve housing can be produced easily and inexpensively.
[0020] The piston is guided in the valve housing via the piston housing in an axially displaceable manner and is radially centered in the valve housing. This advantageously results in a substantially tight and at the same time axially displaceable guidance of the piston in the valve housing, particularly when the radial play of the piston radially centered in the housing is very small. When these components are drawn from sheet metal without machining, the diameter of the sliding surfaces, i.e. the inner cylindrical surface of the valve housing and the diameter of the outer cylindrical surface of the piston, can be set very accurately. A sliding coating on the surfaces of the components may be advantageous.
[0021] The piston is guided to be able to move axially from the closed position to the open position in the valve housing against the spring force of the spring. In the closed position of the piston, the second port is closed by the piston base and the first port is at least partially closed by the piston housing. In the open position, the piston base has been disengaged from the valve seat. Similar to the control edge, at least one edge or contour of the piston exposes the first port that is not pinned by the component or the part of the first port that is not covered by the component, so that a connection through the valve through which the flow medium can pass is formed between the second port and at least one or two of the first ports. In this case, the open end of the valve housing axially opposite to the second port is sealed by the piston relative to the flow medium in both the closed position and the open position, under the influence of the leakage gap between the piston and the component caused by the radial clearance.
[0022] It is conceivable that the first port opposite to the first channel port is only partially closed by the piston housing, which is already or still in the closed position. This means that the slot-shaped through-opening through which the flow medium of the first port can flow is not covered by the piston housing, and is not covered by the piston in the closed position and leads to the first channel in the installed state. The slot-shaped through-opening is defined by a part of the piston and the edge of the corresponding second port at least in the closed position, and the slot-shaped through-opening leads to the opening cross section of the channel. The advantage of the present invention is that after the valve is opened, a passage through which the flow medium can flow is immediately formed between the first port and the second port or in the opposite direction of the flow, and the pressure is rapidly reduced. This has a favorable effect on the design of the spring.
[0023] The same effect can be achieved if an annular channel is formed between the piston and the valve housing, which is directly connected to the valve seat. The annular channel can be designed as required by the design of the valve housing and the piston. The annular channel is filled with the flow medium immediately after the piston leaves the valve seat. The pressure of the flow medium is thereby transferred to a larger area of the piston.
[0024] The same effect can also be achieved if the piston base and the piston housing are connected to each other by means of a transition section formed on the piston. At least in the closed position, the annular channel is delimited by the transition section and the part of the valve housing opposite the transition section.
[0025] Alternatively, a combination of both measures is also provided. In the closed position of the piston, the annular channel is already open at the slot-shaped through-opening towards the at least one second port.
[0026] According to the above measures, it can be concluded that the pressure required to open the valve is greater than the pressure prevailing in the valve when the piston has left the valve seat. The advantage of this arrangement is that the value of the pressure for opening and closing the valve according to the invention can be set constant and reliable during the process, and pressure compensation occurs in a very short time.
[0027] The valve is provided with a sleeve-shaped valve housing having, on the upper part, a sleeve shell oriented concentrically with the valve axis and an edge made of sheet metal, which is oriented radially in the direction of the valve axis and extends around the second port. The edge is optionally provided with a separate valve seat fastened to the edge, or the valve seat is directly stamped into the edge from sheet metal. This solution can be produced very cheaply. No expensive machining of the valve seat is required. The upper part is followed by a bridging part with the first port. Towards the end of the valve follows the lower part to which the support element is attached.
[0028] One embodiment of the invention provides that the piston is sleeve-shaped, having a hollow cylindrical piston housing and a piston base that closes the piston on one side, wherein the spring is axially surrounded by the piston housing and axially supported on the piston base inside the piston. The piston is preferably made of sheet metal. The piston base is correspondingly thin-walled. Compared to a solid piston, the spring can obtain more axial installation space, since the interior of the piston can also be used as installation space for the spring. Therefore, more options are available for the selection and design of the spring, which can also include several springs connected in parallel or in series.
[0029] The support element is inserted into the circumferential groove at the end of the valve housing facing away from the first port and is supported at least axially in the circumferential groove. The support element is fixed to the valve housing in a form-fitting manner, which prevents deformations between the valve housing and the support element that could be caused by a press fit from the outset. The accuracy of the valve seat can therefore be guaranteed in all cases. During the production of the valve housing from sheet metal, the circumferential groove in the valve housing that is required for the form fit can be easily introduced into the forming process without additional machining expenditure.
[0030] In the above mentioned context, the invention provides a device for regulating the pressure of a flowing medium in a vehicle transmission. The device is formed by a part of a transmission component, at least a first channel and a second channel and a valve. In the part of the transmission component, the first channel opens into a first port and at least two second ports open into a second channel. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0042] Figure 1 – The component 4 of the device 1 is provided with a passage port 5 . Figure 1 The valve housing 6 is shown in a cross-sectional view through the bridge area 12. The valve housing 6 is seated in the hole 11 of the component 4. A joint 14 defined by a press fit, alternatively a transition fit or a clearance fit is formed between the outer side surface 10 of the valve housing 6 and the inner side surface of the hole 11 of the component 4. The valve housing 6 is provided with N=6 circumferentially distributed first ports 7 and N=6 circumferentially distributed bridges 8. The full circle 9 extending around the central axis 2 to an arbitrary axial height in the bridge area 12 is simultaneously located on the cylindrical inner surface 18 of the valve housing 6. Therefore, the full circle circumference AU of the full circle 9 of nominal size corresponds to the inner circumference of the valve housing 6 in the bridge area 12. The first ports 7 have the same circumferential pitch UT between the first ports. And the bridges 8 have the same circumferential pitch ST between the bridges.
[0043] The circumferential pitch UT is a measure in arc, i.e. the pitch length of a pitch circle which lies on a full circle 9 having a full circle circumference AU. In the image, the respective pitch circle UT extends between the limiting edges 15 and 16 of the first port 7, which are at the same time the limiting edges 15 and 16 of the respective bridge 8 and which each extend on a full circle 9 on the inside surface 18 of the valve housing 6, as viewed in the counterclockwise direction. In this respect, it is not excluded that these limiting edges 15 and 16 are also provided with chamfers. The limiting edges 15 and 16 delimit the respective first port 7 at the narrowest point in the circumferential direction, which in this case is located at the height of the inside surface 18.
[0044] The value 0 is equal to the difference between the circumference of the full circle and the sum of ((N×UT)+(N×ST). This sum corresponds to the circumference AU of the full circle of the valve housing extending along its first port having its narrowest point in the circumferential direction. N is the number of first ports in the valve housing and also the number of defined bridges. ST describes the width of the corresponding bridge 8 measured in arcs between the limiting edges 15 and 16 when viewed in the clockwise direction, which is measured on the circumference AU.
[0045] Figure 2 The device 1 comprises a component 4, a valve 3, a first channel 19, a second channel 20 and a third channel 21. The valve 3 comprises a valve housing 6, a piston 22, a spring 23 and a support element 24. The spring 23 is axially clamped between the piston 22 and the support element 24. The support element 24 is supported or held on the valve housing 6. The piston 22 is axially guided along the valve axis 2 on the inner side surface 18 of the valve housing 6 in a displaceable manner. The valve axis 2 corresponds to the center axis 2. The valve housing 6 is provided with a number of first ports 7, which are connected on the circumferential side by bridges not visible in this figure (see Figure 1 The valve housing 6 is spaced from each other by the bridge section 8 in the figure, however, due to the longitudinal section, only one of the first ports is visible in this figure. The first port 7 is aligned transversely to the center axis 2. In addition, the valve housing 6 has a second port 25, which is axially penetrated by the center axis 2. The valve housing 6 can be divided into an upper part 26, a bridge area 12 (see Figure 1 The upper part 26 is provided with a second port 25 and has a valve seat 28 against which the piston 22 abuts in a sealing manner in its closed position. Figure 2 The bridging region 12 comprises the first port 7 and the bridge. The lower part 27 of the valve housing 6 serves to guide the piston 22 and as an anchor for the support element 24. In addition, the valve 3 has a through opening 29 in the support element 24 at its rear.
[0046] The channel port 5 of the first channel 19 is diametrically opposite one or both of the first ports 7. The second channel 20 opens into the second port 25 and extends axially in the bore 11. The valve housing 6 is pressed into the bore 11 via the outer side surface 10. The rear of the valve 3 opens into the third channel 21 at the through opening 29. Figure 2 In the open position of the piston 22 shown in FIG. 1 , a flow medium 30 indicated by an arrow can flow from the second channel 20 through the second port 25 , through the valve 3 and out of the first port 7 into the first channel 19 .
[0047] Figure 3 and Figure 4 In the bridge region 12, the valve housing 6 of the valve 3 has several first ports 7 adjacent to each other on the circumferential side, each of which is delimited on the circumferential side by a bridge 8. A part of the piston 22 can be seen through the respective port 7. Likewise, the second port 25 is visible at the beginning of the upper part 26 of the valve housing 6.
[0048] Figure 5 – Figure 5 An alternative valve housing 33 is shown having a plurality of first ports 7 adjacent to each other on the circumferential side in an upper row 34 and separated from each other by a bridge 8 and having a lower row 35 of further first ports 7 axially offset relative to the upper row, the first ports being formed together in a bridge region 12. The first ports 7 of the lower row 35 are separated from each other on the circumferential side by a bridge 8 and are separated from the first ports 7 of the upper row 34 by a further bridge 36.
[0049] Figure 6 – The figure depicts a view through the first channel port 5 surrounded by the first component 4 to the opening cross section 31 of the first port 7 of the valve housing 6 and to the other opening cross section 32 of the other first port 7. The valve housing 6 is rotated about its own axis relative to the channel port 5 so that the bridge 8 extending between the two ports 7 covers a part of the opening cross section of the channel port 5 in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction. The maximum bridge width oriented on the circumferential side of the bridge 8 between the two ports 7 is smaller than the maximum channel port width of the channel port 5 measured on the circumferential side in the same circumferential direction. Therefore, the flow medium can flow into the first channel 19 through the opening cross sections 31 and 32. The rest of the corresponding port 7 is covered by the component 4.
[0050] Figure 7 -and Figure 6 Compared to the arrangement shown, the valve 3 is rotated about its own axis so that the opening cross section of one of the first ports 7 is positioned diametrically opposite the channel port 5 and the channel ports are covered by the bridge 8 on the left and right sides respectively.
[0051] Figure 8 The valve housing 6 is rotated about its own axis relative to the channel port 5 so that the opening cross section of the first port 7 is positioned opposite the channel port 5 in a completely free manner and only the gap 37 remains as a free flow cross section from the other first port 7. The bridge 8 covers a part of the channel port 5.
[0052] Fig. 9 – Figure 5 Some of the first ports 7 of the illustrated valve housing 33 are positioned opposite to the channel port 5 in a penetrable manner, and some of the bridges 8 and 36 cover a part of the flow cross section of the channel port 5 .
