Abstract

This disclosure provides a method and apparatus for generating meshes for simulation objects. The method includes: acquiring an object model of the simulation object; determining the mesh nodes of the object model based on the type and length of the lines in the object model; generating a geometrically dependent surface mesh of the object model based on the mesh nodes; obtaining an orphan surface mesh of the object model based on the geometrically dependent surface mesh; optimizing the orphan surface mesh to obtain an initial surface mesh; and performing a 3D transformation on the initial surface mesh to obtain a target mesh of the object model. Therefore, this disclosure, by determining mesh nodes based on the characteristics of the object model's side lengths, and then cutting geometric relationships to obtain an orphan surface mesh after generating a geometrically dependent surface mesh based on the mesh nodes, and further optimizing the orphan surface mesh, can further improve mesh generation efficiency while ensuring mesh quality.
