Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a variety of host materials and organic electroluminescent devices comprising the same. Background Art
[0002] In 1987, Tang et al. of Eastman Kodak first developed a small molecule green organic electroluminescent device (OLED) by using a TPD / Alq3 double layer consisting of a light-emitting layer and a charge transport layer. Since then, the development of OLED has been carried out rapidly, and OLED has been commercialized. At present, OLED mainly uses phosphorescent materials with excellent luminous efficiency in panel realization. However, in many applications such as TV and lighting equipment, the life of OLED is insufficient, and more efficient OLED is still needed. Typically, as the brightness of OLED increases, the life of OLED becomes shorter. Therefore, for long-term use and high display resolution, it is necessary to have an OLED with high luminous efficiency and / or long life.
[0003] In order to enhance luminous efficiency, driving voltage and / or lifespan, various materials or concepts for organic layers of OLEDs have been proposed. However, these are not satisfactory in practical applications. In addition, it has been necessary to develop organic electroluminescent materials with more improved performance (e.g., improved driving voltage, luminous efficiency, power efficiency and / or lifespan characteristics) compared to the combination of previously disclosed specific compounds.
[0004] Meanwhile, Korean Patent Application Publication No. 2020-0014189 discloses a compound having a condensed structure comprising benzocarbazole and azulene and a compound having a condensed structure comprising indolecarbazole and azapine as a host material. However, the aforementioned reference does not specifically disclose a plurality of host materials comprising a specific combination of compounds according to the present disclosure.
