[0015] (Structure of power storage module X1)

[0016] Figure 1 It is a perspective view showing the appearance of a power storage module X1 of the present disclosure. Figure 2 yes Figure 1 The II-II line section view in FIG. Figure 1 As shown in FIG. 1 , the power storage module X1 has a frame 6. Figure 2 As shown, the power storage module X1 further includes a plurality of secondary batteries 1 (power storage elements) housed in the housing 6 . However, the power storage module X1 may include only one secondary battery 1 .

[0017] (Structure of Secondary Battery 1)

[0018] The secondary battery 1 functions as a battery in the power storage module X1. The secondary battery 1 may be, for example, a lithium-ion battery. The secondary battery 1 may be a flat shape having a main surface and side surfaces. Figure 2 As shown, the secondary batteries 1 are housed in the frame 6 in a state where the main surfaces thereof face each other.

[0019] Figure 3 1 is a perspective view showing the appearance of the secondary battery 1. The secondary battery 1 may include a power generation body 20, connection terminals 21 and 22, and a first housing body 50.

[0020] The power generation body 20 uses electrochemical reactions to store and discharge electricity. The power generation body 20 includes, for example, a positive electrode material, a negative electrode material, and an electrolyte. Figure 3 Only one power generation body 20 is shown in the figure. However, the secondary battery 1 may have a plurality of power generation bodies 20. Figure 4 A specific example of the power generator 20 will be described later.

[0021] The first container 50 can contain the power generator 20. The first container 50 can be formed of, for example, an aluminum-plastic film, or a laminated film having a metal foil layer such as stainless steel or nickel. The aluminum-plastic film can be formed by evaporating aluminum on the film, or by laminating aluminum foil and the film. The material of the film can be, for example, polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, or polyethylene terephthalate. The thickness of the first container 50 can be greater than 50 μm and less than 300 μm, for example, 200 μm.

[0022] When the first container 50 is an aluminum-plastic film, the first container 50 may have a structure in which two pieces of aluminum-plastic film are located on both sides of the stacking direction (Z-axis direction) of the power generator 20. In addition, when the first container 50 is an aluminum-plastic film, the first container 50 may also have a structure in which one piece of aluminum-plastic film is folded in half and the power generator 20 is located inside.

[0023] The connecting terminals 21 and 22 may be terminals for extracting power from the secondary battery 1 or supplying power to the secondary battery 1. The connecting terminals 21 and 22 may protrude from the inside of the first container 50 to the outside. The material of the connecting terminals 21 and 22 may be, for example, copper, aluminum, or nickel. The thickness of the connecting terminals 21 and 22 may be greater than 50 μm and less than 500 μm, for example, 200 μm. In addition, the connecting terminals 21 and 22 may be subjected to a surface treatment for improving adhesion to an adhesive member (not shown). In order to determine the position of the connecting terminals 21 and 22 relative to the first container 50, the adhesive member bonds the connecting terminals 21 and 22 to the first container 50 located above and below the connecting terminals 21 and 22.

[0024] The first container 50 has a side portion 51. The side portion 51 is a portion bonded to the side panel 9 of the frame body 6 described later. The side portion 51 is flexible. In addition, the first container 50 has a first extension portion 111 and a second extension portion 112 on the opposite side of the connecting terminals 21 and 22. The first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 are portions bonded to the bottom panel 10 of the frame body 6 described later. The first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 are flexible. The first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 are adjacent to each other and are located at separate positions. In the following description, when there is no need to distinguish the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 from each other, they are collectively referred to as the extension portion 11.

[0025] In addition, the first container 50 may have a first cutout portion 113 between the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112. In addition, the first container 50 may have a second cutout portion 114 at (i) an end portion of the first extension portion 111 opposite to the second extension portion 112 and (ii) an end portion of the second extension portion 112 opposite to the first extension portion 111.

[0026] exist Figure 3 , the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 are symmetrical with respect to the center line CL of the first container 50, and are located at a position separated from the end of the first container 50. However, the positions of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 are not limited thereto. For example, the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 may not be separated from each other. In addition, for example, at least one of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 may not be separated from the end of the first container 50.

[0027] In addition, the power storage module X1 may also include an extension portion 11 other than the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112. In this case, the plurality of extension portions 11 may be in contact with each other, or at least two of the plurality of extension portions 11 may be separated from each other. In addition, the extension portion 11 located at the end of the first housing body 50 in the X direction or -X direction among the plurality of extension portions 11 may be in contact with the end or may be separated.

[0028] Figure 4 2 is a perspective view showing the appearance of the power generation body 20 included in the secondary battery 1. Figure 4 As shown, the power generator 20 may have a sheet shape. The sheet-shaped power generator 20 may have a positive electrode 23 and a negative electrode 24 .

[0029] The secondary battery 1 may also have a second container 15 that separately contains the power generation body 20. If the secondary battery 1 has one power generation body 20, the second container 15 that contains the power generation body 20 is also one. If the secondary battery 1 has a plurality of power generation bodies 20, the second container 15 that contains the power generation body 20 is also a plurality. In the case where a plurality of second containers 15 that contain the power generation body 20 are stacked, the plurality of second containers 15 can be bonded to each other by an adhesive layer not shown. The material of the second container 15 can be, for example, film-like PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or nylon. More specifically, for example, two pieces of the second container 15 can have a structure located on both sides of the stacking direction (Z-axis direction) of the power generation body 20. The thickness of the base material of the second container 15 can be, for example, greater than 10 μm and less than 40 μm, for example, 25 μm. The material of the adhesive layer can be, for example, polypropylene or polyethylene.

[0030] The second receiving body 15 may also be transparent, for example. Figure 4 This is a diagram showing a state where the power generator 20 can be confirmed through the second housing body 15 by using the transparent second housing body 15 in the power generator 20 .

[0031] The second container 15 may have a cutout 16. For example, the cutout 16 may be provided in each of the second container 15 on the positive electrode 23 side and the second container 15 on the negative electrode 24 side. By providing the cutout 16 as an unsealed portion in a portion of the power generation body 20, the gas generated by the decomposition reaction of the electrolyte or a trace amount of water inside the power generation body 20 can be released to the outside of the power generation body 20.

[0032] The positive electrode 23 may have an exposed portion 23e exposed from the second housing body 15. The negative electrode 24 may have an exposed portion 24e exposed from the second housing body 15. The connection terminals 21 and 22 may be electrically connected to the exposed portions 23e and 24e, respectively, by, for example, ultrasonic welding, laser welding, or resistance welding.

[0033] The secondary battery 1 may have a structure in which a plurality of power generation bodies 20 are respectively housed in the second housing 15, and the plurality of power generation bodies 20 housed in the second housing 15 are further housed in the first housing 50. With this structure, the power generation bodies 20 are doubly housed, thereby improving the safety of the secondary battery 1. In addition, the first housing 50 may be housed in a further housing. However, the secondary battery 1 only needs to have the power generation body 20 and only needs to be housed in at least one housing.

[0034] The secondary battery 1 has a structure in which a plurality of power generation bodies 20 are stacked, for example, a structure in which 10 layers of power generation bodies 20 are stacked. However, the secondary battery 1 of the present disclosure may have a plurality of layers of power generation bodies 20 other than 10 layers, or may have only one layer. In the case where the secondary battery 1 has a plurality of layers of power generation bodies 20, these power generation bodies 20 may be stacked. Figure 3 In the case of the secondary battery 1 shown in the figure, the portion other than the connection terminals 21 and 22 may be substantially rectangular or may be of a different shape. Figure 4 In the case of the power generator 20 shown, the portion other than the exposed portions 23e and 24e may be substantially rectangular or may have a different shape.

[0035] The positive electrode material may be a mixture of a positive electrode active material and a conductive aid. In addition, the negative electrode material may be a mixture of a negative electrode active material and a conductive aid. The positive electrode active material may be, for example, lithium cobaltate, lithium nickelate, lithium iron phosphate or lithium manganate. The negative electrode active material may be, for example, graphite or lithium titanate. The conductive aid may be, for example, carbon black or acetylene black. However, the positive electrode active material, the negative electrode active material and the conductive aid are not limited to these.

[0036] The positive electrode material may have a so-called clay-like property in which an electrolyte is mixed into a mixture of a positive electrode active material and a conductive aid. The negative electrode material may have a so-called clay-like property in which an electrolyte is mixed into a mixture of a negative electrode active material and a conductive aid. The positive electrode 23 may be an electrode in which a positive electrode material is coated on an aluminum foil. The negative electrode 24 may be an electrode in which a negative electrode material is coated on a copper foil.

[0037] The electrolyte is formed by dissolving a lithium salt as an electrolyte in a non-aqueous solvent. As a non-aqueous solvent, a carbonate solvent may be used. As a carbonate solvent, γ-butyrolactone may be used, ethylene carbonate may be used, or both γ-butyrolactone and ethylene carbonate may be used. In addition, as a carbonate solvent, as long as at least one of γ-butyrolactone and ethylene carbonate is included, other solvents may also be included. As other solvents, for example, propylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, dimethoxyethane, diethyl carbonate, tetrahydrofuran, and triethylene glycol dimethyl ether may be mentioned. As an electrolyte, lithium hexafluorophosphate or lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI) may be used.

[0038] In addition, the power generation body 20 may further include a separator. In this case, the power generation body 20 may have a structure in which the positive electrode 23 and the negative electrode 24 are stacked with the separator interposed therebetween. The separator may function as an insulating member that insulates the positive electrode 23 from the negative electrode 24. For example, a sheet of nonwoven fabric or a porous material may be used as the separator.

[0039] The positive electrode material and the negative electrode material may not have clay-like properties. In this case, the electrolyte may not be mixed in the positive electrode active material and the negative electrode active material. In this case, the inside of the power generation body 20 may be filled with the electrolyte, and the electrolyte may be impregnated in the separator and maintained.

[0040] (Structure of Frame 6)

[0041] The frame 6 has a space for accommodating a plurality of secondary batteries 1. The frame 6 protects the secondary batteries 1 from the external environment. Specifically, the frame 6 protects the secondary batteries 1 from external forces received from the external environment. The frame 6 may be, for example, in the shape of a rectangular box.

[0042] The frame 6 may include, for example, two main panels 8, two side panels 9, a bottom panel 10, and a terminal cover 7. The terminal cover 7 is provided to protect the connection terminals 21 and 22 of the secondary battery 1. The main panel 8 is provided to protect the main surface of the secondary battery 1. The side panel 9 is provided to protect the side surface of the secondary battery 1.

[0043] Figure 5 yes Figure 2 A magnified view of the V region in FIG. Figure 5 As shown, the side portion 51 of the first container 50 can be bonded to the side panel 9 in a partially bent state. Figure 5The side portion 51 on the opposite side shown may be bonded to the side panel 9 on the opposite side. In the present embodiment, the secondary battery 1 is mainly held in the frame 6 by the connection portion between the side portion 51 of the first container 50 and the side panel 9. Therefore, from the viewpoint of distributing the weight of the secondary battery 1 applied to the connection portion between the side portion 51 and the side panel 9, the side portion 51 along the outer edge of the first container 50 may be bonded to the side panel 9 as a whole.

[0044] (Connection portion between the extension portion 11 and the bottom plate 10 of the frame body 6)

[0045] Figure 6 The figure is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of the connection portion between the extension portion 11 of the power storage module X1 and the bottom plate 10 of the frame 6. In the power storage module X1, the flexible extension portion 11 is fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a of the bottom plate 10 of the frame 6 in a bent state.

[0046] As described above, the extension portion 11 is a general term for the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112. In the power storage module X1, the secondary battery 1 may be deformed due to expansion or contraction of the secondary battery 1 or vibration of the power storage module X1. In the power storage module X1, the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 deform independently to alleviate the stress caused by the deformation of the secondary battery 1.

[0047] Specifically, the extension portion 11 may have a non-fixed portion 11a and a fixed portion 11b. The non-fixed portion 11a is a portion of the lower end of the power generation body 20 located in the first container 50 in a bent state. The fixed portion 11b is a portion of the extension portion 11 that is connected to the non-fixed portion 11a, is opposite to the inner bottom surface 10a, and is at least partially fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a. The fixed portion 11b is fixed by being bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a via the adhesive layer 10b. The adhesive layer 10b is a layer of an adhesive located on the inner bottom surface 10a. There is no particular limitation on the adhesive used as the material of the adhesive layer 10b, and a known adhesive can be used.

[0048] The extension 11 has the fixing portion 11b, so that the secondary battery 1 can be fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a. In addition, the extension 11 has the non-fixing portion 11a, so that when the secondary battery 1 is deformed, the non-fixing portion 11a deforms, so that the stress caused by the deformation of the secondary battery 1 can be relieved.

[0049] Furthermore, there is an air layer 13 between the secondary battery 1 and the inner bottom surface 10a (the portion of the power storage module X1 where the extension portion 11 exists). By bending at least a portion of the non-fixed portion 11a, the area of the extension portion 11 in contact with the air layer 13 is increased compared to a case where the non-fixed portion 11a is not bent. Therefore, it is easy to release the heat generated by the secondary battery 1 from the extension portion 11 to the outside.

[0050] like Figure 6 As shown, a portion of the non-fixed portion 11a may overlap with the fixed portion 11b of another secondary battery 1 adjacent to the secondary battery 1 having the non-fixed portion 11a. Figure 6 In the figure, the vicinity 11c of the boundary between the non-fixed portion 11a and the fixed portion 11b overlaps with the fixed portion 11b of another secondary battery 1 adjacent to the secondary battery 1 having the non-fixed portion 11a. The vicinity 11c is a part of the non-fixed portion 11a and has a shape continuous with the fixed portion 11b. Since the vicinity 11c overlaps with the fixed portion 11b of another secondary battery 1, it is not fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a.

[0051] exist Figure 6 In the example shown, the length of the non-fixed portion 11a is longer than that of the case where the adjacent portion 11c does not overlap the fixed portion 11b of the other secondary battery 1. By making the non-fixed portion 11a have such a length, it is easy to relieve stress when the secondary battery 1 is deformed. Figure 6 In the example shown, the fixed portion 11 b of another secondary battery 1 adjacent to the secondary battery 1 having the non-fixed portion 11 a overlaps in a wider range.

[0052] Figure 7 yes Figure 6 Sectional view along line VII-VII. Figure 6 The VII-VII line in FIG. 5 is along the boundary of two adjacent first containing bodies 50. Therefore, Figure 7 FIG. 5 shows the surface of the first container 50 instead of the cross section of the first container 50. Figure 7 As shown, the power storage module X1 may include a first space 121. The first space 121 is provided in a state where the power storage module X1 includes a plurality of secondary batteries 1 whose main surfaces face each other, and extends over the plurality of secondary batteries 1 in a direction perpendicular to the main surfaces of the secondary batteries 1 (in a direction perpendicular to the main surfaces of the secondary batteries 1). Figure 7 The space between the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 which are connected in the Z direction (a direction perpendicular to the paper surface).

[0053] For example, when all the secondary batteries 1 have the same shape, the first space 121 extends through and communicates with all the secondary batteries 1. However, in the power storage module X1, all the secondary batteries 1 do not necessarily have the same shape. In this case, at least two adjacent secondary batteries 1 may have shapes that communicate with the first space 121.

[0054] Specifically, as described above, the first container 50 may have the first cutout 113 between the first extension 111 and the second extension 112. Therefore, the first space 121 is formed between the first cutout 113 and the bottom panel 10 and in communication with the first cutout 113.

[0055] Since the power storage module X1 includes the first space portion 121, air can easily flow inside the power storage module X1 through the first space portion 121. Therefore, the temperature inside the power storage module X1 can be easily made uniform.

[0056] In addition, if Figure 7 As shown, the power storage module X1 may include a second space 122. The second space 122 is a space between at least one of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 and the inner surface 9a of the side panel 9 of the frame 6, which extends over and communicates with the plurality of secondary batteries 1 when the power storage module X1 includes the plurality of secondary batteries 1 whose main surfaces face each other.

[0057] For example, when all the secondary batteries 1 have the same shape, the second space 122 is connected to all the secondary batteries 1. However, as described above, in the power storage module X1, all the secondary batteries 1 do not necessarily have the same shape. In this case, at least two adjacent secondary batteries 1 may have a shape that allows the second space 122 to be connected.

[0058] Specifically, as described above, the first container 50 may include the second cutout 114 at (i) the end of the first extension 111 on the opposite side to the second extension 112 and (ii) the end of the second extension 112 on the opposite side to the first extension 111. Therefore, the second space 122 is formed between the second cutout 114, the bottom panel 10, and the side panel 9 and in communication with the second cutout 114.

[0059] Since the power storage module X1 includes the second space portion 122, air can easily flow inside the power storage module X1 through the second space portion 122. Therefore, the temperature inside the power storage module X1 can be easily made uniform.

[0060] The power storage module X1 does not necessarily need to have both the first space 121 and the second space 122. Even when the power storage module X1 has only one of the first space 121 and the second space 122, air easily flows inside the power storage module X1 through the one. However, when the power storage module X1 has both the first space 121 and the second space 122, air more easily flows inside the power storage module X1.

[0061] In addition, the power storage module X1 does not necessarily need to have the second space 122 in both (i) between the first extension portion 111 and the side panel 9 and (ii) between the second extension portion 112 and the side panel 9, and may have the second space 122 in only one of them. However, when the power storage module X1 has the second space 122 in both of the above, air can flow more easily inside the power storage module X1.

[0062] In addition, when the secondary battery 1 has at least one of the first notch 113 and the second notch 114, in the power storage module X1, the length of the bonding portion between the inner bottom surface 10a and the first container 50 in the direction parallel to the main surface of the secondary battery 1 is shorter than the case where the entire outer edge of the first container 50 facing the inner bottom surface 10a is bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a. Therefore, in the power storage module X1, the weight of the secondary battery 1 per unit length applied to the bonding portion between the first container 50 and the inner bottom surface 10a is greater than the case where the entire outer edge of the first container 50 facing the inner bottom surface 10a is bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a.

[0063] However, as described above, in the power storage module X1, the secondary battery 1 is held in the frame 6 mainly by the connection portion between the side portion 51 of the first housing 50 and the side panel 9. In other words, the weight of the secondary battery 1 applied to the extension portion 11 is smaller than the weight of the secondary battery 1 applied to the side portion 51. Therefore, in the power storage module X1, the weight of the secondary battery 1 is applied to the extension portion 11, so that the possibility of the inner bottom surface 10a and the first housing 50 being separated from each other is negligibly small.

[0064] The lengths of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 in the direction parallel to the inner bottom surface 10a may be 1 mm to 20 mm. By making the lengths of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 within such a range, the stability of the secondary battery 1 in the frame 6 can be improved, and the stress caused by the deformation of the secondary battery 1 can be alleviated. In addition, the lengths of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 in the direction parallel to the inner bottom surface 10a may be equal to each other or different from each other.

[0065] In addition, if Figure 7As shown, in the power storage module X1, only a part of the portion of each of the first extension portion 111 and the second extension portion 112 facing the inner bottom surface 10a can be bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a via the adhesive layer 10b and fixed. When the extension portion 11 is fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a in this way, there is a gap between the portion of the extension portion 11 that is not bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a via the adhesive layer 10b and the inner bottom surface 10a. Therefore, inside the power storage module X1, air easily flows through the gap between the extension portion 11 and the inner bottom surface 10a. Therefore, it is easy to make the temperature inside the power storage module X1 uniform.

[0066] Specifically, in the power storage module X1, only the two ends of each of the plurality of extensions 11 facing the inner bottom surface 10a can be bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a via the adhesive layer 10b and fixed. When the extension 11 is fixed to the inner bottom surface 10a in this way, in the portion where the extension 11 faces the inner bottom surface 10a, in addition to the two ends, there is also the above-mentioned gap, and air can easily flow through the gap. In addition, by reducing the area of the extension 11 bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a, the amount of adhesive used can be saved. Furthermore, by bonding the two ends of the extension 11 to the inner bottom surface 10a, the possibility of the bond coming off can be reduced.

[0067] An example of a method for fixing the extension portion 11 to the inner bottom surface 10a using the adhesive layer 10b is shown below. First, an adhesive is arranged on the inner bottom surface 10a so as to be parallel to the side panel 9 and along a straight line passing through positions corresponding to the two ends of the plurality of extension portions 11 when the plurality of secondary batteries 1 are accommodated in the frame 6. Next, the plurality of secondary batteries 1 are accommodated in the frame 6 in such a manner that the two ends of the extension portion 11 in a bent state are in contact with the adhesive arranged on the inner bottom surface 10a. By curing the adhesive in this state to form the adhesive layer 10b, only the two ends of the extension portion 11 of the plurality of secondary batteries 1 are adhered to the inner bottom surface 10a via the adhesive layer 10b and fixed.

[0068] The thickness of the adhesive layer 10b may be 0.1 mm or more. By setting the thickness of the adhesive layer 10b in this way, a gap large enough for air to flow exists between the portion of the extension 11 that is not bonded to the inner bottom surface 10a by the adhesive layer 10b and the inner bottom surface 10a.

[0069] Figure 8 1 is a diagram showing the bending position of the extension portion 11 in the secondary battery 1. Figure 8 In FIG. 1 , a dashed line L1 indicates a bending position where the extending portion 11 is bent when the secondary battery 1 is accommodated in the frame 6 of the power storage module X1 . Figure 8 This is a view showing a part of the interior of the secondary battery 1 in order to explain the positions of the power generation body 20 and the second housing body 15. The folded position may be outside the second housing body 15. Figure 8 The bending position of the extension portion 11 is on the boundary line between the extension portion 11 and the portion other than the extension portion 11. However, the bending position of the extension portion 11 in the secondary battery 1 is not limited thereto.

[0070] In this case, even when the extension portion 11 is bent, the second housing body 15 will not be bent inside the first housing body 50. Figure 8 In FIG. 1 , a dashed line L2 indicates a bending position where the side portion 51 is bent when the secondary battery 1 is housed in the frame 6 of the power storage module X1 . The bending position where the side portion 51 is bent may be outside the second housing 15 .

[0071] In the case where the bending position of the extension part 11 and the side part 51 in the secondary battery 1 is not located outside the second container 15, the second container 15 is also bent when the extension part 11 is bent. In this case, there is no space between the first container 50 and the second container 15 of the secondary battery 1 contained in the frame 6 when looking down at the main surface of the secondary battery 1. Therefore, when gas is generated inside the secondary battery 1, the pressure inside the secondary battery 1 increases due to the gas, and the secondary battery 1 may rupture.

[0072] On the other hand, in the power storage module X1, the extension portion 11 and the side portion 51 are bent outside the second container 15, so that there is a space between the first container 50 and the second container 15 of the secondary battery 1 housed in the frame 6 when looking down at the main surface of the secondary battery 1. When gas is generated inside the secondary battery 1, the space is Figure 8 The front and back sides of the center paper expand, relieving the pressure increase inside the secondary battery 1 caused by the gas. Therefore, in the storage battery module X1, compared with the case where the bending position of the extension portion 11 and the side portion 51 is not outside the second container 15, the possibility of the secondary battery 1 being ruptured due to the gas generated inside the secondary battery 1 can be reduced.
