Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of preparation of rubber vulcanizing agents, in particular to a preparation method and application of N, N '-m-phenylenedimaleimide. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, carrying out a reaction on m-phenylenediamine and maleic anhydride to synthesize an intermediate product; s2, adding an alkali solution into the material after the reaction in the step S1, carrying out alkali treatment, separating out a water layer, adding an acid into the water layer, separating out a solid, carrying out solid-liquid separation, and drying to obtain a purified intermediate product; and S3, carrying out a dehydration reaction on the purified intermediate product to prepare the N, N '-m-phenylenedimaleimide. The intermediate product amic acid is purified by adding the alkali treatment step and the acid treatment step, the purity of the final product PDM is obviously improved, the method is simple in synthesis process, and the purity of the synthesized PDM can reach 98% or above.
