Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a caliper brake, and more particularly, to a caliper brake capable of stably capturing dust caused by friction between a brake pad and a disc and improving ease of maintenance. Background Art
[0002] Nowadays, as the importance of protecting the environment becomes prominent, eco-friendliness is becoming an important issue in the vehicle industry, and regulations regarding pollutants emitted from vehicles are becoming increasingly strict.
[0003] Pollutants discharged from vehicles can be divided into pollutants discharged from the exhaust system and pollutants discharged from non-exhaust systems. Pollutants discharged from the exhaust system have been defined as pollutants contained in the exhaust gas generated during the operation of the engine of the vehicle, and it is expected that legislation will also be enacted in recent years regarding the regulation of pollutants discharged from non-exhaust systems.
[0004] The most typical pollutant discharged from the non-exhaust system is dust generated by the brake system. Specifically, in a disc brake as a brake system mounted on a vehicle, a brake pad contacts and presses against both sides of a disc rotating with a wheel to obtain a braking force by friction or clamping pressure between the disc and the brake pad. In this case, dust is generated due to wear caused by friction between the disc and the brake pad, and it is known that it contains a large amount of components that are harmful to the human body.
[0005] In addition, a single-piece caliper brake having high rigidity and braking force has been developed and applied to high-performance vehicles. In such a single-piece caliper brake, since the friction or clamping pressure between the disc and the brake pad is further increased, the amount of dust generated may be further increased.
[0006] Therefore, dust or fine dust generated from the brake system may need to be effectively captured or collected, and maintenance against the dust may need to be easily performed by a user such as a driver. Summary of the invention

[0046] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. The following embodiments are intended to provide the spirit of the present disclosure to those skilled in the art. The present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments disclosed herein, but may be implemented in different forms. In the accompanying drawings, in order to clarify the present disclosure, parts not related to the description may be omitted, and the size of the components may be enlarged in order to facilitate understanding of the present disclosure.
[0047] Figure 1 is a front view showing a caliper brake on which a dust capturing device is mounted according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 2 and Figure 3 1 and 2 are a rear view and a perspective view respectively showing a caliper brake having a dust capturing device mounted thereon according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0048] Reference Figures 1 to 3 The caliper brake according to the present embodiment may include: a brake disc 50 that rotates together with the wheel of the vehicle; a pair of brake pads that are arranged at or on both sides of the disc; a bracket that is fixedly installed on or at the vehicle body; a caliper housing 20 in which the brake pads are arranged and the caliper housing is configured to be slidable relative to the bracket; a pressing member that is mounted on the caliper housing 20 to move forward or backward; and a dust capturing device 10 that is configured to capture dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pads through contact with each other.
[0049] The brake disc 50 is configured to be rotatable with the wheel of the vehicle, and the inner brake pad and the outer brake pad are arranged at or on both sides of the disc. The inner brake pad and the outer brake pad are fixedly mounted on the inner pad plate and the outer pad plate, and the brake pad is attached to the inner surface of the pad plate (i.e., the surface facing the brake disc). The outer side surface of the inner pad plate is arranged to contact with a pressing member such as a piston, and the outer pad plate is mounted on the inner rear surface of the caliper housing 20 together with the outer brake pad, which will be described below. Therefore, when the vehicle performs a braking operation, the pressing member moves forward to press the inner pad plate and the inner brake pad toward the brake disc, so that the inner pad plate and the inner brake pad are in close contact with the brake disc, and due to the reaction of the pressure, the caliper housing 20 can slide relative to the bracket fixedly mounted on the vehicle body in a direction opposite to the forward direction of the pressing member, so that the outer pad plate and the outer brake pad installed in the caliper housing 20 can be pressed against the brake disc and in close contact with the brake disc.
[0050] For example, the pressing member may be provided as a piston and may be configured to be movable forward or backward in a cylinder provided in the caliper housing 20. The pressing member may brake the vehicle by moving forward or backward by hydraulic pressure or mechanical force of a pressing medium such as brake oil, or by moving forward by receiving power from a motor to brake the vehicle. In addition, when the hydraulic pressure of the pressing medium is released, the pressing member may move backward to release the brake of the vehicle, or by moving backward by receiving power from a motor to release the braking or parking brake state of the vehicle.
[0051] The caliper housing 20 may include a cylinder, a piston is provided to be movable forward or backward in the cylinder, and a brake pad is provided inside the caliper housing 20. The caliper housing 20 may be connected to and supported by the bracket through a guide member, and may also slide in forward and backward directions relative to the bracket through the guide member. A dust capture device to be described below may be provided on at least any one of the front and rear portions of the caliper housing 20, for example but not limited thereto, and a detailed description thereof will be described below.
[0052] The dust capture device 10 is disposed around the disc 50, or around or coupled to the caliper housing 20 of the caliper brake to capture dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pad contacting each other, so as to suppress and minimize the spread of hazardous substances.
[0053] Reference Figures 1 to 3, the dust capturing device 10 according to the present embodiment may include a filter housing 100, a filter module 200, and a bracket 300. At least a portion of the filter housing 100 may be disposed to face or cover the outer peripheral surface of the disk 50. The filter module 200 may be coupled to the filter housing 100. One side of an end portion of the bracket 300 may be mounted to a fixing portion of a vehicle body, a fixing device, or a part of a vehicle or a body of a vehicle, and the other side of the bracket 300 may be coupled to the filter housing 100.
[0054] At least a portion of the filter housing 100 is disposed to face the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. For example, the filter housing 100 is disposed to be spaced apart from the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 in the radial direction of the disc 50, the cross section of the filter housing 100 may be substantially "U"-shaped or "V"-shaped, and surrounds at least a portion of the outer side of the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 in the radial direction and at least a portion of the front and rear surfaces of the disc 50 around the caliper housing 20, and the filter housing 100 may have an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 and a side wall surface facing the front and rear surfaces of the disc 50. The filter housing 100 may be divided into a first filter housing 110 and a second filter housing 120, and the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be formed of separate pieces, a detailed description of which will be described hereinafter.
[0055] In addition, the filter module 200 may be coupled to and supported by the filter housing 100, and the filter housing 100 may be mounted on or to the vehicle through the bracket 300. One side of the bracket 300 may be mounted on or to a fixing portion of a vehicle body, a fixing device, or a part of the vehicle or a body of the vehicle, and the other side of the bracket 300 may be connected and coupled to the filter housing 100. For example, Figures 1 to 3 As shown in , the fixed portion of the vehicle body may be a knuckle 30, on which or to which the caliper housing 20 is mounted, although this is not required. When the bracket 300 is fixedly mounted on or to the knuckle 30 of the vehicle body, the filter housing 100 may be positioned in a portion adjacent to the caliper housing 20 or the disc 50.
[0056] Hereinafter, the dust capturing device 10 according to some embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail.
[0057] Figure 4 is an exploded perspective view showing a filter housing according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, Figure 5 is an exploded perspective view showing a retainer according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view showing a filter module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 7is an exploded perspective view showing a dust capturing device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0058] Reference Figure 4 , the filter housing 100 may include a first filter housing 110 and a second filter housing 120. At least a portion of the first filter housing 110 may be disposed inside the vehicle body, and at least a portion of the second filter housing 120 may be disposed outside the vehicle body.
[0059] The first filter housing 110 disposed inside the vehicle body may include an inner wall surface facing the inner surface of the disc 50 and an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. The second filter housing 120 disposed outside the vehicle body may include an outer wall surface facing the outer surface of the disc 50 and an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. The first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be coupled to each other to form a body such as a single-piece body in which the filter module 200 is accommodated and supported, and formed in a shape surrounding or covering at least a portion of the inner surface, the outer surface, and the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. In addition, the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be generally arc-shaped and have a shape corresponding to the shape of the disc 50.
[0060] The filter housing 100 may be mounted on or to a vehicle by means of or through the bracket 300. To this end, a bracket coupling hole 140 to which the bracket 300 is mounted and coupled using a fastening member or fastener such as a bolt may be provided in the first filter housing 110, and the second filter housing 120 may be coupled to the first filter housing 110 to be mounted on the vehicle. The first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be coupled to each other using a fastening member or fastener such as a bolt.
[0061] The filter module 200 is provided to be coupled to and supported by the filter housing 100 to filter dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pad that are in contact with each other. Figure 5 and Figure 6 , the filter module 200 may include a filter member 250 having a filter and a holder configured to support the filter member 250 .
[0062] The filter member 250 having a filter may receive air containing dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pad that are in contact with each other to capture the dust and discharge the air from which the dust is filtered to the outside of the filter member 250. The filter member 250 may be located or accommodated and supported in a holder, and the holder may form the outside of the filter module 200 and allow the filter member 250 to be detachably attached to the filter housing 100. The filter member 250 and the holder may be generally arc-shaped and have a shape corresponding to the shape of the disc 50.
[0063] The holder may include a first holder portion 210 forming an outer side surface in the radial direction of the disk 50 and a second holder portion 220 formed as an inner side surface in the radial direction. The first holder portion 210 and the second holder portion 220 may be provided to be detachably attached to each other, and the first holder portion 210 and the second holder portion 220 may form an internal accommodation space for accommodating the filter member 250 between the first holder portion 210 and the second holder portion 220.
[0064] For example, the first retainer portion 210 and the second retainer portion 220 may be snap-coupled to each other. Specifically, the retainer clamp 215 may be formed on or at the front end portion and the rear end portion (or any end portion) of the first retainer portion 210 and have a shape bent or protruding from the first retainer portion 210, and a retainer clamp groove 225 into which the retainer clamp 215 is inserted may be formed in or at the front end portion and the rear end portion (or any end portion) of the second retainer portion 220 and formed as a hole passing through the second retainer portion 220 or a recessed portion recessed from the surface of the second retainer portion 220. The retainer clamp 215 may be configured to be elastically deformable for snap-coupled connection, so that a portion of the retainer clamp 215 is deformed when the retainer clamp 215 is inserted into the retainer clamp groove 225. Therefore, the holder clamp 215 may be inserted into the holder clamp groove 225 and snap-coupled thereto, so that the first holder portion 210 and the second holder portion 220 may be coupled to each other.
[0065] As described above, since the holder clamp 215 is integrally formed with the first holder part 210 by having a shape bent or protruding from the first holder part 210, and the holder clamp groove 225 is integrally formed with the second holder part 220 as a hole passing through the second holder part 220 or a recessed portion recessed from the surface of the second holder part 220, the first holder part 210 and the second holder part 220 can be directly snap-coupled without a separate fastening member, so the structure can be simplified, and smooth maintenance, such as easy replacement of the filter member 250, can be performed. Alternatively, the first holder part 210 may have a holder clamp groove, and the second holder part 220 may have a holder clamp. However, the first holder part 210 and the second holder part 220 may be coupled by any device capable of detachably coupling or connecting the first holder part 210 and the second holder part 220.
[0066] The filter member 250 with a filter can capture or filter dust contained in the air. For example, a plurality of flow holes can be formed to pass through the holder so that the air containing dust can smoothly approach the filter member 250, pass through the flow holes, and be discharged from the filter member 250. Specifically, the air containing dust can smoothly approach the filter member 250 through the plurality of flow holes arranged in the second holder part 220, and the air filtered out of the dust can be discharged to the outside of the filter member 250 through the plurality of flow holes arranged in the first holder part 210. The flow hole can be formed in any shape of various shapes, as long as the inside and outside of the holder can be connected to each other and air can flow through it. As an example, the flow hole can be arranged in the form of a plurality of slits or nets, or in the form of a plurality of circular holes arranged regularly, and in addition, at least some of the circular holes can be formed to pass through the inclined holder to smoothly guide the air.
[0067] Reference Figure 7 The filter module 200 in which the filter member 250 having the filter is accommodated and mounted may be coupled to the filter accommodation part 150 formed in the filter case 100 .
[0068] The filter receiving portion 150 may be formed in the central portion of the filter housing 100 to be recessed or pass through the filter housing 100 in the radial direction of the disc 50. The filter module 200 may be coupled to the filter receiving portion 150 of the filter housing 100 and supported by the filter receiving portion. For example, the filter module 200 may be snap-coupled to the filter receiving portion 150 of the filter housing 100. To this end, a clamp 230 formed to protrude from both ends of the retainer of the filter module 200 is provided, and the clamp groove 130 may be formed to be recessed or pass through a portion of the filter housing 100 adjacent to the filter receiving portion 150. The clamp 230 may be configured to be elastically deformable so that when the clamp 230 is inserted into the clamp groove 130, at least a portion of the clamp 230 may be deformed to snap-couple. A plurality of clamps 230 and a plurality of clamp grooves 130 may be provided for stable coupling of the filter housing 100 and the filter module 200.
[0069] As described above, the clamp 230 is integrally formed with the holder to be bent or protruded, and the clamp groove 130 is integrally formed to pass through the filter housing 100 or to be recessed from the surface of the filter housing 100, the filter module 200 can be directly snap-coupled to the filter housing 100 without a separate fastening member, so the structure is simplified, and smooth maintenance can be performed, such as easy replacement of the filter module 200. Alternatively, the filter housing 100 may have the clamp, and the filter module 200 may have the clamp groove.
[0070] At the same time, Figures 1 to 7 In the figure, it is shown that one filter housing 150 is provided in one filter housing 100, and one filter module 200 is installed in the filter housing 150, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Two or more filter housings may be included in the filter housing 100, and two or more filter modules 200 may be installed to the filter housing 150, and even when a plurality of filter housings 150 are provided in one filter housing 100, and a plurality of filter modules 200 are snap-coupled to the filter housing 150 and installed on the filter housing, it should be understood in the same way. By having a plurality of filter modules 200 installed on the filter housing 150, the filter modules 200 can be replaced independently according to the degree of contamination.
[0071] Hereinafter, a dust capturing device 10 according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.
[0072] Figure 8 is a perspective view showing a dust capturing device according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure, Fig. 9 is an exploded perspective view for illustrating a dust capturing device according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure, and Fig.10 is a cross-sectional view for illustrating a dust capturing device according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0073] Reference Figures 8 to 10 , the dust capturing device 10 according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure may include a filter housing 100, a filter module 200, and a bracket 300. At least a portion of the filter housing 100 may be disposed to face the outer peripheral surface of the disk 50. The filter module 200 may be coupled to the filter housing 100. One side of an end portion of the bracket 300 may be mounted on a fixing portion of a vehicle body, a fixing device, or a part of a vehicle or a body of a vehicle, and the other side of the bracket 300 is coupled to the filter housing 100.
[0074] Since some of the structures, functions, and operations of the second embodiment of the present disclosure to be described below are the same as or similar to the structures, functions, and operations of the first embodiment of the present disclosure described above, some descriptions of the second embodiment that overlap with the first embodiment will be omitted to avoid repeated descriptions.
[0075] At least a portion of the filter housing 100 is disposed to face the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. For example, the filter housing 100 is disposed to be spaced apart from the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 in the radial direction of the disc 50, the cross section of the filter housing 100 may be substantially "U"-shaped or "V"-shaped, and surrounds at least a portion of the outer side of the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 in the radial direction and a portion of the front and rear surfaces of the disc 50 around the caliper housing 20, and the filter housing 100 may have an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50 and a side wall surface facing the front and rear surfaces of the disc 50. The filter housing 100 may be divided into a first filter housing 110 and a second filter housing 120, and the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be formed by separate pieces.
[0076] The filter module 200 may be coupled to and supported by the filter housing 100, and the filter housing 100 may be mounted on or to the vehicle through the bracket 300. One side of the bracket 300 may be mounted on or to a fixing portion of a vehicle body such as a knuckle 30 of the vehicle body, a fixing device, or a part of the vehicle or a body of the vehicle, and the other side of the bracket 300 may be connected and coupled to the filter housing 100, and thus the filter housing 100 may be disposed in a portion adjacent to the caliper housing 20 or the disc 50.
[0077] The first filter housing 110 may be disposed inside the vehicle body, and include an inner wall surface facing the inner surface of the disc 50 and an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. The second filter housing 120 may be disposed outside the vehicle body, and include an outer wall surface facing the outer surface of the disc 50 and an outer peripheral surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the disc 50. In addition, the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 may be arc-shaped and have a shape corresponding to the shape of the disc 50.
[0078] The filter housing 100 may be mounted on or to a vehicle by means of or through the bracket 300.
[0079] The filter module 200 may be configured to be coupled to and supported by the filter housing 100 to filter dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pad contacting each other, and coupled to the filter receiving portion 150 formed by coupling the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 .
[0080] In the dust capturing device 10 according to the second embodiment, since a portion of the filter receiving portion 150 is formed in the first filter case 110 and the remaining portion of the filter receiving portion 150 is formed in the second filter case 120, the filter receiving portion 150 may be divided by coupling the first filter case 110 and the second filter case 120. That is, a portion of the edge of the filter receiving portion 150 may be formed in the first filter case 110, and the remaining portion of the edge of the filter receiving portion 150 may be formed in the second filter case 120, and a detailed description thereof will be described hereinafter.
[0081] The filter module 200 may include a filter member 250 having a filter and a holder configured to support the filter member 250 , and the filter member 250 is slidably coupled to the filter receiving part 150 .
[0082] The filter member 250 having a filter may receive air containing dust caused or generated by the disc and the brake pad that are in contact with each other to capture the dust and discharge the air from which the dust is filtered to the outside of the filter member 250.
[0083] The filter member 250 and the filter housing 100 may have a sliding coupling to couple to each other. For example, the filter member 250 may be located or accommodated and supported in a retainer, and the sliding groove 240 may be recessed from the outer surface of the retainer so that the edge of the filter housing 150 may be inserted into the sliding groove 240 and move in the sliding groove 240.
[0084] like Fig. 9 and Fig.10 As shown in , the sliding groove 240 may be recessed from the outer side surface of the retainer and extend in the axial direction of the disc 50. When the edge of the filter receiving portion 150 provided in the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 is inserted into the sliding groove 240 and moves in the sliding groove, the filter housing 100 and the filter module 200 may be slidably coupled to each other. Specifically, as shown in Fig. 9 As shown in FIG. 1 , in a state in which the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 are separated, the sliding groove 240 of the filter module 200 is slidably coupled to the edge of the filter accommodation portion 150 formed in the second filter housing 120, and then, the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120 are coupled to install the filter module 200 in or to the filter housing 100 (see FIG. 1 ). Figure 8 ).
[0085] Alternatively, unlike the above example, the filter accommodation portion 150 may be provided in only one of the first filter housing 110 and the second filter housing 120. In another example, the filter accommodation portion 150 may be provided only in the second filter housing 120, and one side of the second filter housing 120 may be open so that the filter module 200 may enter or be inserted into the second filter housing 120, and the sliding groove 240 of the filter module 200 may be slidably coupled to the edge of the filter accommodation portion 150 of the second filter housing 120. Then, the second filter housing 120 in which or to which the filter module 200 is installed may be coupled to the first filter housing 110 to be supported by or coupled to the vehicle.
[0086] As described above, since the sliding groove 240 is integrally formed by being recessed from the outer surface of the retaining frame of the filter module 200, and the edge of the filter housing 150 moves in the sliding groove 240, is inserted into the sliding groove 240 and is slidably connected to the sliding groove 240, the filter module 200 can be installed and supported in the filter housing 100 or supported by the filter housing 100 without the need for a separate fastening member or additional fasteners, so that the structure can be simplified and the filter module 200 can be easily replaced with another filter module.
[0087] Hereinafter, a dust capturing device 10 according to a third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.
[0088] Fig.11 and Fig.12 are a perspective view and a rear view showing a caliper brake to which a dust capturing device is mounted according to a third embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0089] Reference Fig.11 and Fig.12 The filter housing 400 of the dust capturing device 10 according to the third embodiment may include a first filter housing 410 and a second filter housing 420.
