Description

[0001] The invention relates to an air flow cut-off device for a motor vehicle. The invention is particularly intended to equip the front face of said vehicle in order to promote or, on the contrary, to block the passage of an air flow inside a cooling module arranged in the motor vehicle. More particularly, the air flow is intended to circulate inside one or more heat exchangers arranged inside said cooling module.

[0002] It is common practice to use such air flow baffles to reduce the drag coefficient and also to improve the cooling and air conditioning performance in a motor vehicle. Such a shielding device comprises at least one rolling curtain mounted in a supporting frame. The rolling curtain is movable alternately between an open position and a closed position. By moving between these two positions, the at least one rolling curtain allows the baffle device to allow air flow to pass through the grille of the motor vehicle or to block air flow through the grille of the motor vehicle. The at least one rolling curtain is moved by a kinematic assembly guiding the movement of the at least one rolling curtain in a translational manner and an actuator causing the movement of the kinematic assembly.

[0003] Such a baffle is preferably mounted in the region of a radiator grille of a motor vehicle. In the open position of the at least one roller blind, the air flow can pass through the grille and contribute to the cooling of the engine of the motor vehicle. In the closed position of the at least one roller blind, air cannot enter through the grille, which reduces the resistance and thus reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Thus, the baffle reduces energy consumption and pollution when the engine does not need to be cooled by outside air. In order to move from one position to another, the at least one roller blind is a flexible roller blind, is translationally mounted in a support frame and rolls back and forth around a winding axis.

[0004] However, the use of a flexible roller blind for a shutter arrangement may lead to the risk of wrinkling and misalignment when the roller blind is rolled up and unrolled about the winding axis. Such wrinkles or misalignment may lead to the roller blind getting stuck, thereby rendering the shutter inoperable.

[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to at least partially remedy the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide an improved screening arrangement which limits the risk of folding or misalignment of the roller blind.

[0006] The invention therefore relates to a device for closing and regulating an air flow intended to circulate through a heat exchanger for a motor vehicle, the closing device comprising a support frame defining at least one opening for a passage for entering the air flow, and the closing device comprising at least one roller blind which is movable in an opening and closing direction between a closed position for closing the passage opening and an open position for allowing the air flow to pass through the passage opening, the at least one roller blind being arranged to be wound and unwound around a winding shaft which extends on the support frame along one of the sides of the passage opening, the closing device further comprising at least one supporting member exerting pressure on the winding shaft, the supporting member pressing the at least one roller blind against the winding shaft.

[0007] According to one aspect of the invention, the baffle device comprises a first roller blind wound around a first winding shaft and a second roller blind wound around a second winding shaft, the first winding shaft and the second winding shaft being arranged on opposite sides of the passage opening, each winding shaft having at least one supporting member.

[0008] According to another aspect of the invention, at least one supporting member is mounted so as to be translatable relative to a winding axis associated with the at least one supporting member.

[0009] The at least one supporting member comprises at least one elastic return element in order to translate the at least one supporting member towards the winding axis associated with the at least one supporting member.

[0010] According to another aspect of the invention, the support member comprises a single support element bearing against at least one roller blind.

[0011] According to another aspect of the invention, the supporting structure comprises a plurality of supporting elements evenly distributed over the width of the or at least one roller blind.

[0012] According to another aspect of the invention, the support member comprises at least one roller having an axis of rotation parallel to the axis of the winding shaft associated with the support member.

[0013] According to another aspect of the present invention, a supporting member includes a rotation axis and a plurality of rollers mounted on the rotation axis, wherein at least one elastic member is supported on the rotation axis.

[0014] According to a further aspect of the invention, the supporting member is integrated into one of the side parts of the passage opening of the supporting frame.

[0015] According to another aspect of the invention, the support member is an insert attached to one side of the passage opening of the support frame.

[0016] According to another aspect of the invention, the supporting member bears against the roller blind over a minimum of 10% of the width of the roller blind, preferably over between 10% and 30% of the width of the roller blind.

[0017] It should be understood that all the above characteristics and configurations are by no means limiting. Other features, details and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent when reading the detailed description given below and referring to several exemplary embodiments given in an indicative and non-limiting manner with reference to the attached schematic drawings, in which:

[0030] Figure 1 A side view of a device 400 for closing an air inlet of an air flow F arranged at the front of a motor vehicle 1 is shown. The air flow F flows essentially parallel to a direction X corresponding to the longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle 1. The air inlet closing member 400 is in particular arranged behind a radiator grille 3 on the front of the motor vehicle 1. A cooling module 5 is also arranged behind the radiator grille, which comprises at least one heat exchanger 7, 9, through which the air flow F entering the interior of the motor vehicle 1 via the radiator grille 3 passes. The heat exchanger(s) 7, 9 extend in a plane parallel to a plane generated by the Y and Z directions of the XYZ coordinate frame. Figure 1 In the example shown in , the cooling module 5 comprises two heat exchangers 7 and 9 arranged on both sides of the closing device 400 along the X axis.

[0031] The cooling module 5 comprises, for example, an upstream heat exchanger 7 arranged in series along the longitudinal axis X of the motor vehicle 1 in the direction of the air flow F (composed of Figure 1 The arrow on the left in the figure shows) and the downstream heat exchanger 9 (in Figure 1 ). In this particular arrangement, the air flow F passes first through the upstream heat exchanger 7 and secondly through the downstream heat exchanger 9.

[0032] The upstream heat exchanger 7 is, for example, a so-called low-temperature cooling radiator, which is used to cool the coolant of a so-called low-temperature heat exchange circuit and comprises in particular an air conditioning condenser and / or a charge air cooler. The downstream heat exchanger 9 is, for example, a high-temperature cooling radiator, which is intended to cool the coolant of a heat exchange circuit, including the engine of the vehicle. The air flowing through this downstream heat exchanger 9 cools the engine coolant.

[0033] according to Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c The embodiment of the closing device 400 shown in FIG. 4 includes a support frame 361 having a generally rectangular shape. Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In the XYZ coordinate frame of FIG. 3 , the support frame 361 extends in a plane formed by the Y and Z axes. In particular, the support frame 361 defines at least one air flow opening F through which the air flow F can pass.

[0034] refer to Figure 2 In the embodiment shown in , the support frame 361 can, for example, comprise a first shell 362 and a second shell 363, which are configured to interlock with each other so as to form a first cross member and a second cross member parallel to each other and two lateral uprights extending between the end of the first cross member and the end of the second cross member so as to define at least one opening for the passage of the support frame 361, the at least one opening being intended to be used by the air flow F passing through the grille 3 of the front face of the motor vehicle 1, as Figure 1 As shown. Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c , the first and second cross members of the support frame 361 are oriented in the Y direction, and the two side columns are oriented substantially vertically in the Z direction. The air flow is intended to flow through the closing device 400 in the X direction.

[0035] The two shells 362 and 363 of the support frame 361 of the closing device 400 are particularly rigid, they are made of plastic for example. The two shells 362 and 363 are particularly obtained by injection molding. In order to improve the overall rigidity of the support frame 361 formed by the two shells 362 and 363, they can be formed as a single piece.

[0036] Clip-on lug 364 (on Figure 2 and Figure 4 364) or any other connecting means capable of assembling the housings 362 and 363 together can be fitted to the first and second cross members and / or the side uprights of the support frame 361. These clips 364 allow the support frame 361 to be disassembled for cleaning, maintenance or possible replacement of components of the closing device 400.

[0037] However, other designs are possible, such as an integrated support frame 361, or a design in which the first and second cross members and / or the side posts are integrated together.

[0038] The support frame 361 of the baffle device 400 is configured to support various parts including at least one winding shaft 401, 402. The shielding device 400 also includes at least one rolling curtain 404, 405, which can be moved in an opening and closing direction between a closed position that cuts off the passage opening and an open position that allows the air flow F to pass through the passage opening. The at least one rolling curtain 404, 405 is particularly arranged to roll back and forth around the winding shaft 401, 402. The at least one winding shaft 401, 402 extends on the support frame 361 along one side of the passage opening.

[0039] like Figure 2 As shown, at least one winding shaft 401 , 402 may comprise two longitudinal portions 430 and 431 joined together around which at least one roller blind 404 , 405 is wound.

[0040] More specifically, Figure 2 An embodiment is shown in which the baffle device 400 comprises two winding shafts 401 , 402 arranged on both sides of the support frame passage opening 361 and roller blinds 404 , 405 arranged to be wound and unwound around at least one of the winding shafts 401 , 402 .

[0041] exist Figure 2 In the embodiment shown in , the winding shafts 401, 402 can be arranged in particular at the first and second cross-pieces of the support frame 361 so as to be clamped by the two housings 362 and 363 forming said support frame 361. Each winding shaft 401, 402 can comprise two longitudinal parts 430 and 431 assembled around which the roller blind 404, 405 is wound.

[0042] In particular, at least one winding shaft 401, 402 may include an end cap 409 at its longitudinal end, the end cap cooperating with a bearing 410 so as to be able to rotate around the winding axis A1, A2 (in Figures 3a to 3c In the case where the sealing device 400 comprises two winding shafts 401, 402, each winding shaft 401, 402 may comprise a dedicated bearing 410 and its own winding axis A1, A2. These winding axes A1, A2 are preferably parallel to the first and second cross members of the support frame 361.

[0043] At least one roller blind 404, 405 is movable, that is, the at least one roller blind is configured to be wound and unwound around the winding shaft 401, 402. In this way, at least one roller blind 404, 405 can be moved in the closed position ( Figure 3c ) (thereby closing the passage opening) and allowing the air flow F to pass through the passage opening ( Figure 3a ). Figure 3bAn intermediate position of at least one roller blind 404, 405 moved between its two extreme positions is shown. Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In , the opening and closing directions are parallel to the Z direction. Figure 1 In this case, the opening and closing directions also correspond to the vertical directions.

[0044] The at least one roller blind 404 , 405 may be obtained by cutting: for example, the at least one roller blind is made of a flexible material, such as a glass fiber based fabric covered with a waterproof and water repellent coating.

[0045] At least one roller blind 404, 405 has, for example, a substantially rectangular shape and has a first edge 412, two side edges 413 and a second edge 414, such as Figure 2 The second edge 414 is positioned opposite to the first edge 412, and these first edge 412 and second edge 414 are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the opening and closing direction of at least one rolling blind 404. In addition, the first edge 412 and the second edge 414 extend parallel to the winding shafts 401, 402, and the side edge 413 is parallel to the opening and closing direction of at least one rolling blind 404, 405.

[0046] The first edge 412 of at least one roller blind 404, 405 is integrated with the winding shaft 401 or 402 to which said roller blind 404 or 405 is associated. Thus, when at least one roller blind 404, 405 is wound around the winding shaft 401 or 402 to which its first edge 412 is attached, this corresponds to its open position ( Figure 3a ). Winding at least one roller blind 404, 405 around the winding axis 401, 402 allows simple and compact storage of said roller blind in its open position. When the at least one roller blind 404, 405 is in its open position, the air flow F can then flow through the free passage opening to the heat exchanger 7, 9 of the cooling module 5 arranged behind the grille 3.

[0047] Conversely, when the at least one roller blind 404, 405 is unrolled in the closing and opening direction, the at least one roller blind stretches so that it blocks the air flow F and thus closes the passage opening through the support frame 361 of the baffle device 400. This then corresponds to Figure 3c Its closed position is shown in .

[0048] The second edge 414 of at least one of the roller blinds 404, 405 may be integral with a sealing member 416, which may take the form of a rod 417 assembled with a seal 418, such as Figure 2In particular, the rod 417 can reinforce the second edge 414. The ends of the rod 417 can be arranged in tracks provided on the side posts of the frame 361. Thus, the rod 417 can carry the seal 418 and also keep at least one roller blind 404, 405 against the support frame 361 and guide at least one roller blind 404, 405 to move between its open position and its closed position.

[0049] In order to move at least one roller blind 404, 405 between its open position and its closed position, the shutter device 400 comprises an electric actuator 406 cooperating with the winding shafts 401, 402. Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In the embodiment of the shutter device 400 shown in , the electric actuator 406 cooperates more particularly with the first winding shaft 401. In these same figures, the actuator 406 is housed in a housing 365 provided on a side post of the frame 361.

[0050] The actuator 406 may be configured to rotate its associated winding shaft 401, 402, for example via two gears 407 and 408. These gears 407 and 408 mesh with each other, as shown in FIG. Figure 4 As shown, gear 407 is integrated with actuator 406 , in particular with the motor of the actuator, and gear 408 is integrated with shaft 401 .

[0051] In case the shutter device 400 comprises two winding shafts 401 and 402 , the first winding shaft 401 may in particular be driven by an electric actuator 406 and the second winding shaft 402 may be passive.

[0052] The shutter device 400 further comprises a kinematic assembly 403 configured to set at least one roller blind 404, 405 in a motion along its opening and closing direction. The kinematic assembly 403 is more particularly arranged to transmit the movement of the first winding shaft 401 associated with the electric actuator 406 to the second winding shaft 402. Thus, the kinematic assembly 403 cooperates with the two winding shafts 401, 402 to associate their respective rotations. The second winding shaft 402 can be described as "passive", in the sense that it is not directly connected to the actuator 406 as is the case for the first winding shaft 401, but is driven by the kinematic assembly 403 linking the two winding shafts 401 and 402.

[0053] according to Figure 6In the first embodiment shown in FIG. 4 , the kinematic assembly 403 may include at least one belt 414 connecting the first winding shaft 401 and the second winding shaft 402 so as to transfer the rotation of the first winding shaft 401 to the second winding shaft 402. Preferably, the kinematic assembly 403 includes a belt 414 disposed at each end of the winding shafts 401, 402.

[0054] according to Figures 2 to 4 In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 4 , at least one roller blind 404, 405 can also be extended by at least one belt element 411 forming part of the kinematic assembly 403. In particular, at least one belt element 411 has an elongated shape extending parallel to a side edge 413 of at least one roller blind 404, 405 associated with the at least one belt element. Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In the embodiment of the shutter device 400 shown in FIG. 1 , two parallel band elements 411 extend at least one roller blind 404, 405 on two side edges 413 opposite to each other. The two band elements 411 are arranged symmetrically with respect to a symmetry axis SY running parallel to the opening and closing directions. The symmetry axis SY then passes through the middle of at least one roller blind 404, 405, as shown in FIG. Figure 3a and Figure 3b The belt elements 411 thus form material strips which extend at least one roller blind 404 , 405 like struts.

[0055] In this same embodiment, one of the belt elements 411 extends at least partially over one side edge 413 of the at least one roller blind 404, 405 and the other belt element 411 extends at least partially under the other side edge 413 of the at least one roller blind 404, 405. In other words, when the at least one roller blind 404, 405 and its associated belt element 411 are lying flat, these belt elements 411 extend away from the side edge 413 of the at least one roller blind 404, 405. Thus, when the at least one roller blind 404, 405 is in its open position, the belt elements 411 do not obstruct the passage opening through the support frame 361. The belt elements 411 are positioned away from the position occupied by the at least one roller blind 404, 405 in its closed position.

[0056] The one or more belt elements 411 may be made integrally with their associated at least one roller blind 404 or 405. In other words, the belt element 411 and the at least one roller blind 404 or 405 are cut from a single fabric, for example during manufacture.

[0057] According to an alternative, the one or more belt elements 411 are elements assembled with the at least one roller blind 404 or 405, i.e. the belt elements 411 are not formed in the same part as the roller blind 404 or 405. The belt elements 411 are for example made of a material different from that of the at least one roller blind 404, 405. The one or more belt elements can then be attached to said roller blind 404, 405 by fasteners (e.g. sewing, gluing, welding, etc.).

[0058] According to a first embodiment of the baffle device 400, the baffle device 400 comprises only one roller blind (this embodiment is for example Figure 5 ). In this first embodiment, a single roller blind 404 is attached to a first winding shaft 401 via its first edge 412. The single roller blind 404 is then configured to be wound and unwound around the first winding shaft 401.

[0059] According to a variant of this first embodiment, not shown, the shutter device 400 may comprise a second shaft, which is arranged on the side of the support frame 361 opposite to the side comprising the first winding shaft. This second winding shaft does not comprise a second rolling blind, but is connected to the single rolling blind 404 by at least one belt element. The at least one belt element extends between the second edge 414 of the single rolling blind 404 and the second winding shaft parallel to the opening and closing direction of the rolling blind 404. When the single rolling blind 404 is unrolled, the at least one belt element is wound around the second winding shaft 402. Thus, the belt element helps to guide the single rolling blind 404 during its movement between its end positions and also prevents the single rolling blind 404 from becoming unstable during said movement.

[0060] In this variant of the first embodiment, the rotation of the second winding shaft 402 is ensured, for example, by a second actuator (not shown in the figures) coupled to the second winding shaft 402. In the particular case in which the closing device 400 comprises one actuator per winding shaft 401 and 402, the two actuators are configured such that they allow a synchronous rotation of the two winding shafts 401 and 402. The belt element 411 and more generally the kinematic assembly 403 may also cooperate with the two winding shafts 401 and 402 in order to facilitate a synchronous rotation between the two winding shafts 401 and 402 in order to move the single roller blind 404 between its closed position and its open position.

[0061] In this first embodiment, the single roller blind 404 has reached an open position when it is completely wound around the first winding shaft 401. Conversely, the single roller blind 404 has reached a closed position when it is unrolled and extends between the first winding shaft 401 and the second winding shaft 402, so as to block the passage opening through the support frame 361, thereby preventing the air flow F from flowing through said opening. In its closed position, the second edge 414 of the single roller blind 404 is located in particular at the level of the second cross member of the support frame 361.

[0062] according to Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 4 , the shielding device 400 includes two separate roller blinds 404 and 405, which are arranged on both sides of the passage opening defined by the support frame 361. More specifically, the baffle device 400 includes a first roller blind 404 configured to be wound around a first winding shaft 401 and unwound, and a second roller blind 405 configured to be wound around a second winding shaft 402 and unwound.

[0063] In this second embodiment, when the two roller blinds 404 and 405 are in the open position ( Figure 3a ) or partially open position ( Figure 3b ), the respective second edges 414 of the roller blinds 404 and 405 are at a distance from each other. More specifically, the second edge 414 of the first roller blind 404 is located near the first cross member of the support frame 361 of the air flow control device F and the shielding device 400, while the second edge 414 of the second roller blind 405 is located near the second cross member.

[0064] In addition, when the roller blinds 404 and 405 are in the closed position ( Figure 3c ), the seals 418 associated with the two roller blinds 404 and 405 may contact each other so as to prevent the air flow F from passing through the support frame opening 361.

[0065] according to Figure 2 , Figure 3a , Figure 3b and Figure 3c In the variant of this second embodiment shown in , each roller blind 404 and 405 is extended by at least one belt element 411 of its own, which forms part of the kinematic assembly 403. In other words, the belt element 411 extending the first roller blind 404 on the one hand and the second roller blind 405 on the other hand forms a complete belt linking the two moving winding shafts 401, 402.

[0066] Therefore, to move from the closed position to a more open position, the kinematic assembly 403 acts via the belt element 411 together with the two roller blinds 404 and 405 , so that the winding shafts 401 , 402 rotate in a synchronized manner, so that the two roller blinds 404 and 405 move simultaneously.

[0067] exist Figure 6 In another embodiment shown in FIG. 4 , the synchronous rotation of the first winding shaft 401 and the second winding shaft 402 is provided by at least one belt 414 .

[0068] like Figure 5 and Figure 6 As shown, the baffle device 400 further includes at least one supporting member 500 that applies pressure to the winding shafts 401, 402. More specifically, the at least one supporting member 500 presses the at least one rolling blind 404, 405 against the winding shafts 401, 402.

[0069] Such a support member 500 makes it possible in particular to limit the risk of the rolling blinds 404, 405 being blocked. In fact, the support member 500 limits the risk of misalignment of the rolling blinds 404, 405, in particular by limiting the formation of folds. The support member 500 thus allows the shutter device 400 to have a better durability.

[0070] The support member 500 may comprise a single element bearing against the roller blind 404 , 405 , or may comprise a plurality of support elements preferably evenly distributed across the width of the roller blind 404 , 405 .

[0071] To increase its effectiveness, the support member 500 may more particularly be in contact with the roller blind 404, 405 over a maximum of 30% of its width. Beyond 30%, the friction between the roller blind 404, 405 and the support member 500 may be too great and prevent the winding shaft 401, 402 from rotating correctly.

[0072] exist Figure 5 In the example shown in , the shutter device 400 comprises a single roller blind 404 which is connected to a first winding shaft 401 . The at least one supporting member 500 then bears against the first winding shaft 401 .

[0073] exist Figure 6 In the example shown in FIG. 3 , the baffle device 400 includes a first rolling blind 404 wound around a first winding shaft 401 and a second rolling blind 405 wound around a second winding shaft 402. The first winding shaft 401 and the second winding shaft 402 are arranged on opposite sides of the support frame opening 361. Each winding shaft 401, 402 has at least one support member 500.

[0074] In order to compensate for the variations in the diameter of the winding shafts 401, 402 due to the winding and unwinding of the roller blinds 404, 405, at least one support member 500 may more particularly be mounted translationally relative to the associated winding shaft 401, 402. At least one support member 500 may also comprise at least one elastic return element 501 in order to translate said at least one support member 500 towards the associated winding shaft 401, 402. In particular, this elastic return element 501 allows the support member 500 to be constantly pressed against the associated winding shaft 401, 402 and also allows a constant pressure to be exerted on the wound roller blinds 404, 405, regardless of the degree of winding of the roller blinds 404, 405 and their position.

[0075] According to a first, not illustrated, embodiment of the at least one supporting member 500, the at least one supporting member may be a simple element supported on the winding shaft 401, 402 associated with the at least one supporting member. When the rolling blind 404, 405 is wound and unwound around the winding shaft 401, 402 associated with the rolling blind, the rolling blind slides against the at least one supporting member 500. For example, the supporting element may be an elastic tongue. The friction coefficient between the supporting element and the rolling blind 404, 405 is preferably determined so as not to damage the rolling blind 404, 405 and to allow the rolling blind to slide against the at least one supporting member 500.

[0076] according to Figure 5 and Figure 6 In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 5 , the support member 500 comprises at least one roller 502. This roller 502 notably has an axis of rotation B parallel to the axis A1 , A2 of the winding axis 401 , 402 with which this roller is associated.

[0077] according to Figure 5 In the first embodiment shown in FIG. 5 , the support member 500 may include a rotation axis B and a plurality of rollers 502 mounted on the rotation axis B. At least one elastic member 501 is then supported on the rotation axis B.

[0078] exist Figure 5 In the example shown in , the support member 500 comprises an elastic element 501 , such as a spring, arranged at each end of the axis of rotation B.

[0079] according to Figure 6 In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 5 , the support member 500 further comprises a plurality of rollers 502. Each roller 502 has a separate rotation axis B. Each roller 502 further comprises at least one elastic element 501 supported on its separate rotation axis B. Thus, each roller 502 is independent in both rotation and translation relative to the winding axis 401, 402 to which the roller is associated.

[0080] In particular, the support member 500 may be integrated into one of the side portions of the passage opening of the support frame 361. This means that the support frame 361 comprises elements of the support member 500, such as:

[0081] a housing in which the support member 500 is arranged,

[0082] a support wall on which the elastic element 501 can be supported in order to exert a force in the direction of the winding axis 401 , 402 associated with the support member 500 ,

[0083] - Guides or tracks in which the support member 500 itself or its axis of rotation B can slide.

[0084] Alternatively, the support member 500 may be an insert attached to one side of the passage opening of the support frame 361. In particular, this makes it possible to add the support member 500 to a standard support frame and adapt the support member to the standard support frame.
