Abstract
Description
[0001] The present application relates to the field of beauty technology.
[0002] More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions intended for the cosmetic treatment of keratin fibres, in particular the hair.
[0003] The invention also relates to a process for the cosmetic treatment of keratin fibres, wherein a composition according to the invention is applied to said fibres, and to the use of this composition for caring for keratin fibres, in particular the hair.
[0004] As part of this request, several definitions must be given.
[0005] Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons consisting only of carbon and hydrogen atoms linked together by simple covalent bonds. n H 2n+2 .
[0006] A "straight chain alkane" is an alkane in which each carbon atom is bonded to no more than two carbon atoms.
[0007] "Branched alkanes" are alkanes in which some of the carbon atoms are linked to three or even four carbon atoms.
[0008] “C x "Alkanes" are alkanes consisting of x carbon atoms, and the alkanes may be linear or branched. For example, n-dodecane is C 12 Alkane.
[0009] "C>x alkane" is an alkane consisting of at least x+1 carbon atoms, and the alkane can be linear or branched. For example, n-dodecane is a C>10 linear alkane or a C>10 linear alkane. 12 Alkane.
[0010] "C≤x alkane" is an alkane consisting of at most x carbon atoms or less than x carbon atoms, and the alkane may be linear or branched. For example, 2,3,6-trimethylheptane (CAS 4032-93-3) is a C≤10 alkane.
[0011] “C x -C y "Alkanes are alkanes composed of a number of carbon atoms from x to y (including x and y). For example, C1-C2 alkanes are methane and ethane.
[0012] An "isoalkane" is a branched alkane comprising at least one carbon atom bonded to at least three carbon atoms (including methyl groups).
[0013] Typically, "volatile linear alkanes" are linear alkanes having a flash point less than or equal to 95°C as measured according to ASTM D93.
[0014] The flash point is a flash point measured according to ASTM D93. The unit of the flash point measured according to ASTM D93 is degree Celsius (° C.). It may also be an average of a plurality of values, each of which is obtained by measurement according to ASTM D93.
[0015] The term "mass percentage" refers to the ratio of the mass of the first compound to the total mass of the mixture or composition of compounds, converted to a percentage. For example, if 10 grams of compound y is present in a mixture z with a total mass of 100 grams, the mass percentage of y in z is 10%.
[0016] A "biobased" compound or organic composition is defined as one in which the organic carbon present in the compound or composition is of plant origin as determined by radiocarbon analysis according to one of the following standards: ASTM D6866, EN 16640 or EN 16785-1 ( 14 C).
[0017] If the organic carbon present in an organic compound or composition is of 100% plant origin, that is, if it is determined by radiocarbon analysis according to one of the following standards: ASTM D6866, EN 16640 or EN 16785-1 14 C / 12 C or 14 C / 13 The organic compound or composition is considered biobased if the ratio corresponds to the ratio of a living plant product.
[0018] The "natural index" of an organic composition is the organic carbon of plant origin determined by radiocarbon analysis according to one of the following standards: ASTM D6866, EN 16640 or EN 16785-1 ( 14 C) percentage.
[0019] For the purposes of the present invention, the OECD 301F method allows the assessment of the biodegradability of a substance by means of a respirometry test.
[0020] The use of volatile silicone oils in beauty products will disappear, especially the use of cyclomethicone, which has the formula [Si(CH3)2-O] n Short-chain cyclic organosilicon compounds, wherein n is 3 to 7 (inclusive). In fact, since the Danish Environmental Protection Agency first reported data on the toxicity risks of cyclomethicone D4 and D5 to humans in 2005, several studies have highlighted their potential harmful effects on the environment and even on human health.
[0021] Studies were then carried out to identify compounds that might offer satisfactory alternatives, having in particular a similar volatility profile and allowing the preparation of formulations having at least similar properties in terms of viscosity and sensory properties (ability to spread on the hair and the soft, "dry" and non-greasy feel of the film obtained).
[0022] For this purpose, various compositions comprising alkanes have been proposed.
[0023] Alkane-based compositions have been developed in the presence of carbonyl compounds, carbonate compounds, or ester compounds.
[0024] For example, in application US 2005 / 0079986 it is proposed to use a mixture of linear or branched dialkyl carbonates and alkanes containing 8 to 40 carbon atoms, preferably branched and saturated.
[0025] In application US 2004 / 0241200 it is also proposed to use a combination of a neopentyl glycol polyester (for example neopentyl glycol diheptanoate) and an isoparaffin (for example isododecane). This mixture is notably marketed by the company INOLEX under the trade name D4 and D5 for sale.
[0026] More recently, ester oils in combination with one or more alkanes have been proposed.
[0027] Thus, patent application EP 2 623 088 A2 describes hair care compositions comprising at least one ester oil and at least one isoparaffin chosen from isodecane, isoundecane, isotridecane and isotetradecane.
[0028] More recently, patent application DE 10 2017 223 528 A1 proposed combining at least one alkane selected from undecane, dodecane and tridecane with at least one ester oil and one crambe seed oil.
[0029] The research also highlights the potential of alkane mixtures to reduce or potentially eliminate the use of volatile silicones in cosmetic products.Alkane mixtures of interest can be complex, containing multiple compounds and multiple types of alkanes (both linear and branched).
[0030] For example, patent application WO 2009 / 064790 A1 uses a mixture of three alkane fractions in very specific ratios: C 12 -C 14 Isoalkane fraction, C 13 -C 15 The isoparaffin fraction and the so-called C 13 -C 15 Alkane mixture fraction.
[0031] In the remainder of the application, the term fraction used to define different parts of a composition has to be understood as the part of the composition, said parts or fractions being combined to define the composition in its entirety. The terms "part" and "fraction" can be used interchangeably.
[0032] The above mixture therefore comprises three parts or three fractions.
[0033] The applicant proposed in the application WO2010 / 115973A1 to use a 10 -C 12 Alkanes and at least one linear C 14 -C 24 Alkanes are mixtures of alkanes.
[0034] Application WO2019 / 197507A1 uses a C8-C 10 An alkane mixture comprising an alkane in combination with at least one C≥11 alkane.
[0035] The multiple proposals surrounding the use of alkanes suggest that obtaining properties at least similar to those obtained using volatile silicone oils is a real challenge.
[0036] Recently, complex solutions for preparing compositions for hair treatment of interest have emerged. In particular, patent application DE102018220849A1 combines the use of at least one C9-C 17 Alkanes, two types of fatty alcohols, at least one quaternary ammonium type cationic surfactant and at least one monovalent C2-C8 alcohol.
[0037] Recently, patent application FR3094639A1 even proposed to introduce at least one branched C8-C 16 The alkanes are combined with three different types of non-volatile silicones.
[0038] Therefore, there remains a need to develop hair compositions that exhibit interesting properties in the absence of volatile silicone oils and that are useful for a variety of hair applications.
[0039] Unexpectedly, the applicant has developed a hair composition comprising at least one C 10 -C 12 Branched alkanes, at least one volatile linear alkane and at least one dimethiconol exhibit good cosmetic properties despite the absence of volatile silicone oils.
[0040] Their properties are comparable to those of compositions containing volatile silicone oils in terms of sensory properties, shine, softness, ease of detangling, protection during styling and smoothness, without weighing the hair down.
[0041] The composition according to the invention makes it possible to condition the keratin fibers in a very satisfactory manner. In particular, it makes it possible to significantly improve the shine and softness. The keratin fibers remain light, soft and non-greasy, both visually and to the touch.
[0042] Given the improvement in viscosity, it allows the formulation of compositions containing less non-volatile silicones and thus improves the naturalness of the composition.
[0043] They detangle hair easily without weighing it down or making it greasy. Keratin fibers remain light, flexible, and easy to style and shape. They are not greasy visually or to the touch, and are non-squeaky to the touch.
[0044] It is worth noting that the natural index of the composition for cosmetic treatment of keratin fibres according to the invention may be greater than 85%.
