Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a binder composition for casting mold making. Background Art
[0002] Generally speaking, the acid curing casting mold is manufactured in the following manner, that is, the casting mold molding binder composition and the casting mold molding curing agent composition are supplied to the mixer by the supply device through the pipe, and after mixing with the refractory particles, the obtained mixed sand is filled into the original mold such as the wooden mold, and the acid curing resin is cured and manufactured. The acid curing resin uses furan resin or phenol resin, etc., and the furan resin uses furan methanol-urea-formaldehyde resin, furan methanol-formaldehyde resin, furan methanol-phenol-formaldehyde resin, other known modified furan resins, etc. This method for manufacturing a casting mold can realize a high degree of freedom molding operation, and in addition, the thermal properties of the casting mold are excellent, so high-quality castings can be manufactured, and therefore, it is widely used when casting castings such as casting machinery parts, construction machinery parts, or automotive parts.
[0003] One of the important conditions for mold manufacturing is to improve the working environment during mold manufacturing (during resin curing). In particular, it is desirable to reduce furanol and formaldehyde volatilized during mold manufacturing to reduce furanol in the binder composition for mold making.
[0004] For example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 2014-501175 discloses that the release of furanol and formaldehyde during kneading and molding can be reduced by using a binder composition containing a small amount of monomeric furanol.
[0005] On the other hand, the binder composition for mold making containing furan resin is used in a wide range of climates from cold regions to warm regions. However, under high temperature environments in summer in warm regions (e.g., above 35°C), there is a problem of storage stability, namely, viscosity increase. If viscosity increase occurs, the handling property during mold making will change. Therefore, from the perspective of quality management of the mold, it is sometimes necessary to change the settings of equipment such as infusion pumps, which is more complicated. In particular, the binder composition for mold making with reduced furan carbinol content, such as that disclosed in Japanese Patent Table No. 2014-501175, has a larger viscosity increase during storage than the binder composition for mold making containing a large amount of furan carbinol. It is believed that the reason is that the cost of reducing furan carbinol is that a large amount of oligomer components such as urea-modified furan resins are contained in the binder composition, and thus a condensation reaction is carried out during storage, and the molecular weight becomes larger, so a means of suppressing viscosity increase is required.
[0006] For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2012-135778 discloses that by adding a metal hydroxide to a binder composition for mold making, the viscosity increase of the binder composition can be suppressed.
[0007] In addition, urea-modified furan resin, furan carbinol-formaldehyde condensate, and the like, which are the main components of the furan resin, are obtained by reacting furan carbinol with urea or formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst.
[0008] For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2011-147999 discloses that, in addition to sulfonic acids such as p-toluenesulfonic acid and xylenesulfonic acid, and organic carboxylic acids such as glutaric acid and succinic acid, inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid may be used as the acid catalyst. [0187] <Method for producing adhesive composition>
[0188] [Example 1]
[0189] Into a three-necked flask equipped with a stirrer, a condenser and a thermometer, 555.50 g of furan methanol, 4.13 g of triethylamine, 5.88 g of an 85% by mass phosphoric acid aqueous solution and 157.10 g of 92% by mass paraformaldehyde were added while stirring. The triethylamine was 0.8 moles per 1 mole of phosphoric acid. The reaction was carried out at 100°C until the furan methanol monomer became 33% by mass. Thereafter, 38.12 g of urea was added and reacted at 105°C for 1 hour. Thereafter, it was cooled to 70°C with air, 18.66 g of urea was added, and the reaction was carried out at 70°C for 20 minutes to obtain a reaction product containing urea-modified furan resin. The obtained reaction product was analyzed, and the result was that furan methanol was 19.2% by mass, 2,5-bishydroxymethylfuran was 20.5% by mass, and water was 9.73% by mass. In addition, the amount of furan resin (urea-modified furan resin) is the remaining amount after deducting furan methanol, 2,5-bishydroxymethyl furan, water and the calculated amount of phosphate from the obtained reaction product. Based on the analysis results, the amount of furan methanol and water is calculated so that the content of furan methanol in the adhesive composition is 19% by mass, the content of furan resin (urea-modified furan resin) is 35.45% by weight, and the content of water is 24% by mass. In addition, the amount of triethylamine in an amount of 3 moles relative to 1 mole of phosphoric acid in the adhesive composition is calculated. 40.00 g of furan methanol, 164.26 g of water, 11.36 g of triethylamine and 5.00 g of silane coupling agent (KBM-602 manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.) are added to the obtained reaction product and mixed to obtain the adhesive composition of Example 1.
[0190] [Examples 2 to 10, Comparative Examples 1 to 2]
[0191] The same method as in Example 1 was used, except that the amount of the alkali species was changed so as to obtain the amount of the phosphoric acid neutralized salt using the alkali components shown in Table 1, to obtain the binder compositions of Examples 2 to 11 and Comparative Examples 1 to 2, respectively. In Table 1, FFA refers to furanol, and BHMF refers to 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan.
[0192] [Example 11]
[0193] 531.78 g of furan methanol, 3.71 g of triethylamine, 165.17 g of 92% by mass of paraformaldehyde and 160.96 g of urea were added to a three-necked flask equipped with a stirrer, a condenser and a thermometer, and reacted for 90 minutes at normal pressure and 110°C. Thereafter, 5.27 g of 85% phosphoric acid was added, and the reaction was further reacted at 90°C for 240 minutes to obtain a reaction product. The obtained reaction product was analyzed, and as a result, furan methanol was 21.5% by mass, BHMF was 0% by mass, and water was 14.5% by mass. In addition, the amount of furan resin (urea-modified furan resin) was calculated in the same manner as in Example 1. Based on the analysis results, the amount of furan methanol and water was calculated so that the content of furan methanol in the binder composition was 19% by mass and the content of water was 24.0% by mass. In addition, the amount of triethylamine in an amount of 3 moles relative to 1 mole of phosphoric acid in the binder composition was calculated. To the obtained reaction product, 114.30 g of water, 10.17 g of triethylamine, and 5.00 g of a silane coupling agent (KBM-602 manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.) were added and mixed to obtain an adhesive composition of Example 11.
[0194] [Evaluation of storage stability]
[0195] 50 g of the binder composition for mold making was put into a 50 mL spiral bottle (manufactured by AS ONE Co., Ltd.) and sealed, and stored in a constant temperature room at 50 ° C. The viscosity at a time point after 30 days was measured using the above-mentioned viscosity determination method. It should be noted that in the evaluation of storage stability in Table 1, the viscosity of the "0 day" refers to the viscosity of the binder composition for mold making on the day when the binder composition for mold making was manufactured, and "30 days later" refers to the viscosity of the binder composition for mold making at a time point after 30 days. According to the viscosity of "0 day" and the viscosity of "30 days later", the rate of change of viscosity is calculated by the following formula, and the rate of change is used as an evaluation of storage stability. This evaluation is sometimes also accelerated at a temperature higher than the usual storage temperature. As long as the viscosity change rate is less than 50%, it is considered that there is no problem.
[0196] Change rate (%) = (viscosity after 30 days - viscosity on day 0) / viscosity on day 0 × 100
[0197] [Evaluation of the Presence of Precipitates]
[0198] 30 g of the binder composition for casting molds was placed in a 50 mL screw-top bottle (manufactured by AS ONE Co., Ltd.), sealed, and left to stand for 1 day. Thereafter, the presence or absence of precipitates deposited on the bottom of the screw-top bottle was visually confirmed.
