Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a connector. Background Art

[0002] The connector disclosed in Patent Document 1 has a connector housing. The connector housing has a housing body (referred to as a terminal housing portion in Patent Document 1), a fitting cylinder surrounding the outer side of the housing body, and a connecting portion connecting the housing body and the fitting cylinder (the fitting cylinder and the connecting portion are referred to as a cover portion in Patent Document 1). There is an open space between the housing body and the fitting cylinder and in front of the connecting portion, and the cover portion of the other connector is fitted into the open space. A sealing surface for mounting a sealing ring is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body. The sealing ring is in close contact with the sealing surface of the housing body and the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion of the other connector. A stop-slip protrusion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body at a position forward of the sealing surface. The stop-slip protrusion is arranged at a position farther forward than the connecting portion across the sealing surface. The rear surface (the surface facing the rear side) of the stop-slip protrusion is molded by a mold pulled out to the rear. At a position of the connecting portion opposite to the rear surface of the stop-slip protrusion, an opening (through) is formed with a demolding hole formed by pulling out the mold.

[0003] Patent document 2 discloses that an outer protrusion corresponding to the anti-slip protrusion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the front retainer. In Patent document 2, since the outer protrusion is not formed on the connector housing, a demolding hole is not formed on the connecting portion. Patent document 3 discloses a female side protrusion corresponding to the anti-slip protrusion. Prior art literature Patent Literature

[0004] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2005-158396 Patent Document 2: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2008-16262 Patent Document 3: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2022-86057 Summary of the invention Problems to be solved by the invention

[0005] In Patent Document 2, since the top end surface of the outer protrusion contacts the cover of the other connector, the shaking between the front end retainer and the cover can be suppressed. However, since a structure for suppressing shaking is also required between the front end retainer and the shell body (see the inner protrusion of Patent Document 2), the setting for suppressing shaking becomes complicated. Here, if the shaking suppression structure is not properly formed, the following situation has also occurred: when the connector is detached, the front end retainer falls off from the shell body and the front end retainer remains on the inner side of the cover.

[0006] In this regard, according to Patent Document 1, the shaking between the connector housing and the cover can be suppressed only by the anti-slip protrusion formed on the housing body, thereby eliminating the complexity of the above-mentioned setting. However, in Patent Document 1, the above-mentioned mold has an axial length that exceeds the front-to-back length of the sealing surface, and is formed into a pin shape with a thin diameter corresponding to the opening diameter of the demolding hole. Therefore, when the connector housing is molded, the mold may tilt around the axis, which may cause burrs on the sealing surface due to the tilting of the mold, and thus it is impossible to form a good sealing surface.

[0007] In this regard, an object of the present disclosure is to provide a connector capable of forming a good sealing surface on a housing body. Solutions to Solve Problems

[0008] The connector disclosed in the present invention comprises: a shell body, whose outer peripheral surface facing outward has a sealing surface; a fitting cylinder portion, surrounding the outer side of the shell body; a connecting portion, connecting the shell body and the fitting cylinder portion; and a sealing component, which is installed on the sealing surface of the shell body, has an open fitting space between the shell body and the fitting cylinder portion and in front of the connecting portion, and the cover portion of the other connector is fitted in the fitting space, and the sealing component is configured to be in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cover portion and the shell The sealing surface of the main body, the shell body has a protrusion protruding from the outer peripheral surface at a position forward of the sealing surface toward the fitting space, the connecting portion has a first demolding hole and a second demolding hole, the first demolding hole opens at a position opposite to the rear surface of the protrusion, when the connecting portion is viewed from the rear, the second demolding hole opens in parallel with the first demolding hole, and is connected to the first demolding hole in a manner having a step extending in a direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the second demolding hole and the first demolding hole. Effects of the Invention

[0011] [Description of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure] First, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described below. The connector disclosed herein, (1) A housing body having a sealing surface on its outer peripheral surface facing outward; a fitting cylinder portion surrounding the outer side of the housing body; a connecting portion connecting the housing body and the fitting cylinder portion; and a sealing member mounted on the sealing surface of the housing body, having an open fitting space between the housing body and the fitting cylinder portion and in front of the connecting portion, wherein a cover portion of a mating connector is fitted into the fitting space, the sealing member being arranged to be in close contact with an inner peripheral surface of the cover portion and the sealing surface of the housing body, the housing body having a protrusion protruding from a position of the outer peripheral surface in front of the sealing surface toward the fitting space, the connecting portion having a first demolding hole and a second demolding hole, the first demolding hole opening at a position opposite to a rear surface of the protrusion, the second demolding hole opening in parallel with the first demolding hole when the connecting portion is viewed from behind, and communicating with the first demolding hole in a manner having a step extending in a direction intersecting with an arrangement direction of the second demolding hole and the first demolding hole.

[0012] The rear surface of the protrusion is formed by pulling a mold backward, and the mold has a molding surface corresponding to the rear surface of the protrusion. The mold needs to have an axial length that exceeds the front-to-back length of the sealing surface. In the above structure, since the mold has an opening section of a connected demolding hole composed of a first demolding hole and a second demolding hole, it has a large diameter and is easy to ensure the specified rigidity. In addition, since the second demolding hole is connected with the first demolding hole in a stepped manner, the mold is also formed with a step corresponding to the step. Therefore, the stepped portion of the mold including the step can be combined with the other mold for molding the front surface of the connecting part in a key shape (convex and concave), which can prevent the mold from tipping over during molding. As a result, the generation of burrs and the like on the sealing surface after molding can be suppressed, and a good sealing surface can be formed on the shell body.

[0013] (2) Preferably, the first demolding hole and the second demolding hole are in a T-shape or an L-shape when the connecting portion is viewed from behind.

[0014] According to the above configuration, since the mold for molding the rear surface of the protrusion is formed into a T-shaped or L-shaped cross-sectional shape, the mold can be stably combined with the other mold in a key-like manner, and the mold can be more reliably prevented from falling.

[0015] (3) Preferably, the shell body has a cavity for accommodating terminal parts, and when the connecting portion is viewed from behind, the first demolding hole and the second demolding hole are respectively arranged at least one of the upper and lower positions and the left and right positions across the cavity, and the second demolding hole arranged at least one of the upper and lower positions has the step extending in the left and right direction, and the second demolding hole arranged at the left and right positions has the step extending in the upper and lower directions.

[0016] According to the above configuration, the mold for molding the rear surface of the protrusion can be combined with the other mold in a complex manner in the up-down and left-right directions, and the mold can be more reliably prevented from falling down.

[0017] (4) Preferably, a wire cover is attached to the housing body to cover the wires led out rearward from the housing body, and the wire cover has a positioning portion that fits into at least one of the first mold release hole and the second mold release hole.

[0018] According to the above configuration, since the wire cover can be positioned using at least one of the first and second mold release holes, there is no need to form dedicated positioning holes for positioning the wire cover in the connection portion, etc., and the structure of the connector can be simplified.

[0019] [Details of the embodiments of the present disclosure] Specific examples of the present disclosure are described below with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to these examples, but is shown by the claims, and is intended to include all modifications within the meaning and scope of the claims.

[0020] <Implementation method 1> The connector 10 involved in the embodiment 1 of the present disclosure is a waterproof connector. Figure 2 As shown, it is provided with a connector housing 11, a terminal part 12, a stopper 13 and a sealing member 14. The connector housing 11 can be mated with the mating connector housing 91 of the mating connector 90. In the following description, regarding the front-back direction, the surface side facing each other when the connector housing 11 and the mating connector housing 91 start to be mated is the front side. Figure 2 The left side is the front side of the connector 10. The front side of the counterpart connector 90 is Figure 2 The right side of the Figure 5 The vertical direction of each figure except for Figure 1 The left and right directions are used as reference. Figure 2 Arrows X and Y respectively indicate the “front side” and “upper side” of the connector 10. The direction reference is for convenience of explanation only and does not necessarily coincide with the direction reference when the connector 10 and the counterpart connector 90 are mounted on a vehicle or the like (not shown).

[0021] (Mating connector) like Figure 2As shown, the counterpart connector 90 includes a counterpart connector housing 91 and a plurality of counterpart terminal parts 92. The counterpart connector housing 91 is made of synthetic resin. Although not shown in detail, the counterpart connector housing 91 has a flat cover 93 facing the left and right directions. The cover 93 is cylindrical and open to the front. Each counterpart terminal part 92 is made of conductive metal, is pin-shaped, and is arranged in a row in the left and right directions inside the cover 93 and protrudes. A locking part 95 is protrudingly formed on the upper surface of the upper wall of the cover 93.

[0022] (Connector) The connector housing 11 is made of synthetic resin such as Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, the housing body 15 is integrally provided with a housing body 15 flattened in the left-right direction, a cylindrical fitting cylinder 16 surrounding the outer side of the housing body 15, and a connecting portion 17 connecting the housing body 15 and the fitting cylinder 16 in the radial direction. Figure 2 As shown, there is an open space between the housing body 15 and the fitting cylinder 16 and in front of the connection portion 17 , and this space is configured as a fitting space 18 into which the cover portion 93 of the counterpart connector 90 can be fitted.

[0023] like Figure 3-Figure 5 As shown, a plurality of cavities 19 are formed in the housing body 15. The cavities 19 are arranged in a row in the housing body 15 in the left-right direction in a manner corresponding to the respective mating terminal parts 92. Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, a lance 21 is formed to protrude from the lower surface of the inner wall of each cavity 19. The terminal fitting 12 is inserted into each cavity 19 of the housing body 15 from the rear.

[0024] The terminal part 12 is made of a conductive metal and is integrally formed by bending a plate. Figure 2 As shown, the front end of the terminal part 12 has a cylindrical connecting portion 22 for inserting and connecting the other terminal part 92, and the rear end has a crimping portion 23 connected to the terminal part of the electric wire 80 by crimping. The connecting portion 22 is locked by the lance 21. The terminal part 12 is initially restricted from coming out of the housing body 15 by the lance 21.

[0025] The electric wire 80 is led out from the housing body 15 to the rear, and a rubber plug 85 is fitted to the terminal of the electric wire 80. The rubber plug 85 is connected to the terminal fitting 12 via the crimping portion 23. In addition, the rubber plug 85 is inserted into the cavity 19 together with the terminal fitting 12.

[0026] like Figure 5 and Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 1 , the connector housing 11 has a continuous cylindrical portion 24 protruding rearward from the connecting portion 17. The continuous cylindrical portion 24 is in a shape of a plurality of cylindrical portions 25 connected in the left-right direction. The inner side of each cylindrical portion 25 forms the rear portion of the cavity 19. Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the rubber plug 85 is in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 25 to seal the interior of the housing body 15 in a liquid-tight manner.

[0027] like Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, an open stopper insertion hole 26 is formed on the front surface of the housing body 15. The stopper insertion hole 26 is formed in a long opening shape in the left-right direction on the front surface of the housing body 15 and communicates with each cavity 19 from below. Each lance 21 is exposed and arranged in the stopper insertion hole 26. Figure 2 As shown, the stopper 13 is inserted into the stopper insertion hole 26 of the housing body 15 from the front.

[0028] The stopper 13 is made of synthetic resin and is not shown in detail, but is a rectangular flat plate in a plan view. The rear portion of the stopper 13 enters below the lance 21 to prevent the lance 21 from bending. The terminal part 12 is further restricted from coming out of the housing body 15 by the stopper 13.

[0029] like Figure 3 As shown in FIG. 1 , a smooth sealing surface 27 is formed along the entire circumference of the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15 (the surface facing the outer side, i.e., the surface facing the fitting space 18). The sealing surface 27 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15 in the front-to-back range from the position connected to the connecting portion 17 to the rear surface of each protrusion 28 described later. Figure 2 As shown, the sealing member 14 is embedded in the sealing surface 27 of the housing body 15 from the front. The sealing member 14 is made of rubber such as silicone rubber and is annular and has a predetermined size in the front-to-back direction. Although not shown in detail, the sealing member 14 is formed into a transversely long ring that is long in the left-right direction and has four rounded corners. The inner circumferential surface of the sealing member 14 is closely attached to the outer circumferential surface of the housing body 15, and the outer circumferential surface of the sealing member 14 is closely attached to the inner circumferential surface of the cover portion 93, so that the connector housing 11 and the other connector housing 91 can be sealed liquid-tightly.

[0030] like Figure 3 As shown, a plurality of protrusions 28 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15 at a position opposite to the connecting portion 17 across the sealing surface 27 in the front-rear direction. Each protrusion 28 is in the shape of a rib extending in the front-rear direction and protrudes into the fitting space 18. Figure 4 As shown in FIG. 1 , each protrusion 28 is disposed at the left and right middle portions of the upper and lower surfaces of the housing body 15, and at a position below the upper and lower middle portions of the left and right surfaces of the housing body 15. In short, each protrusion 28 is disposed at intervals on the upper, lower, left, and right sides of the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15. Figure 2 and Figure 3 As shown in FIG. 1 , each protrusion 28 is formed to be convex in a curved shape from the front end to the top end surface in the protruding direction. Figure 2 As shown, the top end surface of each protrusion 28 in the protruding direction is arranged to contact the inner peripheral surface of the cover 93 when the connector housing 11 is fitted with the mating connector housing 91. The connector housing 11 and the mating connector housing 91 are kept in a state where the rattling is suppressed by the protrusions 28.

[0031] like Figure 2 As shown, the rear surface of each protrusion 28 is arranged in the vertical direction and is close to and opposite to the front surface of the sealing member 14. The sealing member 14 is restricted from coming out of the connector housing 11 to the rear by the connecting portion 17, and is restricted from coming out of the connector housing 11 to the front by each protrusion 28.

[0032] As described above, each protrusion 28 has both the function of suppressing the rattling of the connector housing 11 and the mating connector housing 91 and the function of restricting the seal member 14 from coming out in the forward direction.

[0033] The connecting portion 17 is in the shape of a wall along the radial direction and the wall surface is arranged in a front-rear direction. Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, the connecting portion 17 has an upper end surface 29 separated from the fitting cylinder 16 and facing the locking arm 37 from below at a position corresponding to the lower side of the locking arm 37 described later. In addition, a plurality of first demolding holes 31 are formed in the connecting portion 17 at positions opposite to the rear surfaces of the protrusions 28 in the front-rear direction. Figure 5 As shown, the rear surface of each protrusion 28 can be visually confirmed from the rear through each first demolding hole 31.

[0034] like Figure 5 As shown, among the first demolding holes 31, the first demolding hole 31 located on the lower side when viewed from behind is a rectangular opening below the left and right middle parts of the continuous barrel 24 and separated from the continuous barrel 24 when viewed from behind. The first demolding hole 31 located on the upper side when viewed from behind is a rectangular opening above the left and right middle parts of the continuous barrel 24 and close to the continuous barrel 24 when viewed from behind. The first demolding holes 31 located on the left and right sides when viewed from behind are rectangular openings on the sides of the lower part of the continuous barrel 24 and close to the continuous barrel 24 when viewed from behind. Simply put, the first demolding holes 31 are arranged opposite to each other at upper and lower positions and left and right positions across the continuous barrel 24 in the connecting portion 17.

[0035] like Figure 2 As shown, when the sealing member 14 is mounted on the sealing surface 27 of the housing body 15 , the front of each first demolding hole 31 is blocked by the sealing member 14 , and each protrusion 28 is blocked by the sealing member 14 and cannot be seen from each first demolding hole 31 .

[0036] In addition, if Figure 4 and Figure 5As shown in FIG. 1 , a plurality of second demolding holes 32 are formed on the outside of each first demolding hole 31 in the connecting portion 17. The second demolding holes 32 each have a shoulder-shaped step 33 extending in a direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the second demolding holes 32 and the first demolding holes 31 communicating therewith, and the step 33 is extended in a shape wider than the first demolding holes 31 in the extending direction. Figure 5 As shown, each second demolding hole 32 connected to the first demolding holes 31 on the upper and lower sides has a step 33 that is orthogonal to the left and right edges (side edges) of the first demolding hole 31 and extends in the left and right directions. By protruding toward the left and right sides relative to the first demolding hole 31, the second demolding hole 32 and the first demolding hole 31 together form a T-shaped opening shape when viewed from behind.

[0037] The second demolding hole 32 on the upper side opens at the upper end surface 29 of the connecting portion 17 on the opposite side to the side connected to the first demolding hole 31. The second demolding holes 32 connected to the first demolding holes 31 on the left and right sides respectively have steps 33 extending below the first demolding holes 31, and by extending downward relative to the first demolding holes 31, the second demolding holes 32 together with the first demolding holes 31 present an L-shaped opening shape when viewed from behind. The range of each protrusion 28 projected onto the connecting portion 17 side is included in each first demolding hole 31 but not in each second demolding hole 32, or is partially included in each second demolding hole 32. In addition, in the following description, the first demolding holes 31 and the second demolding holes 32 that are T-shaped or L-shaped when viewed from behind are collectively referred to as connected demolding holes 34. Figure 4 As shown, even when the connector housing 11 is viewed from the front, the communicating knockout holes 34 can be visually confirmed together with the front surfaces of the protrusions 28 .

[0038] like Figure 3-Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 1 , the fitting cylinder 16 has a protective wall 35 that bulges upward at the left and right middle portions of the upper wall. Figure 6 As shown in FIG. 1 , a recess 36 is formed in the protective wall 35 by cutting the rear end of the protective wall 35. A locking arm 37 is arranged inside the protective wall 35. The locking arm 37 can be elastically deformed in the vertical direction with a pair of arm portions 38 connected to the inner surface of the protective wall 35 as a fulcrum. A locking hole 39 is formed in the locking arm 37 and penetrates in the vertical direction. Figure 2 As shown, the connector housing 11 and the mating connector housing 91 are held in a mating state by the locking portion 95 being inserted into the locking hole 39 of the locking arm 37. A release operation portion 41 is formed at the rear end of the locking arm 37. Figure 6As shown, the release operation portion 41 can be visually confirmed from above through the recess 36. The upper communicating demolding hole 34 can be visually confirmed from above through the interior of the recess 36 and the locking hole 39 of the locking arm 37. By pressing the release operation portion 41 from above to elastically deform the rear end of the locking arm 37 downward, the locking state between the locking arm 37 and the locking portion 95 can be released, and the connector housing 11 in the mating state and the mating connector housing 91 can be separated. Figure 6 As shown, the left and right side wall portions of the fitting cylinder 16 have anti-slip portions 42 extending forward in a stepped manner from the position connected to the connecting portion 17. The operator can perform the fitting and disengagement operation of the connector housing 11 and the mating connector housing 91 by placing fingers on the left and right anti-slip portions 42.

[0039] (Function of connector) When molding the connector housing 11, although not shown in detail, a mating mold 110 that is pulled forward to mold the fitting space 18 and the front surface of each protrusion 28 and a mold 100 that is pulled backward to mold the rear surface of each protrusion 28 are used (see FIG. Figure 7 ). The other mold 110 and the mold 100 are combined to be able to slide in the front-to-back direction away from each other. In short, the other mold 110 and the mold 100 are combined, and the space formed inside them is filled with molten resin. After the resin is solidified, the other mold 110 and the mold 100 are moved (opened) in the above-mentioned drawing direction to form the connector housing 11.

[0040] The mold 100 is pulled backward to form a continuous demolding hole 34 at the connecting portion 17. Fig.16 As shown in the reference example, the conventional mold 100E is in the shape of a pin whose axial length exceeds the front-to-rear length of the sealing surface 27 (the mold 100E is along Fig.16 The mold 100E is long in the paper thickness direction, so it is difficult to ensure rigidity and may fall around the axis within the gap with the other mold 110E. If the mold 100E falls, burrs may be generated on the sealing surface 27 of the housing body 15, and a smooth and good sealing surface 27 may not be formed.

[0041] However, in the first embodiment, the cross-sectional shape of the mold 100 is formed into a T-shaped cross-sectional shape corresponding to the opening cross-sectional shape of the communicating demolding hole 34 (see Figure 7) or L-shaped cross-sectional shape. Therefore, the mold 100 itself can have rigidity. In addition, a stepped recess 101 including a step corresponding to the step 33 of the second demolding hole 32 is formed in the mold 100, and a stepped convex portion 111 corresponding to the stepped recess 101 is formed in the counterpart mold 110. Therefore, when the mold 100 is combined with the counterpart mold 110, the stepped recess 101 and the stepped convex portion 111 can be engaged in a key-like (concave-convex) shape. Therefore, the relative misalignment between the mold 100 and the counterpart mold 110 can be limited, and the mold 100 can be prevented from tipping over. As a result, relative to Fig.16 The reference example is Figure 7 In the first embodiment shown, appropriate movement of the mold 100 and the mating mold 110 can be ensured, and a smooth and good sealing surface 27 can be formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15 .

[0042] In particular, in the first embodiment, since the communicating demolding hole 34 has a T-shaped or L-shaped opening shape in rear view, the mold 100 can be stably combined with the counterpart mold 110 in a key shape, thereby reliably preventing the mold 100 from falling down.

[0043] In the first embodiment, a plurality of continuous demolding holes 34 are formed in the connecting portion 17. Figure 5 As shown, each of the communicating demolding holes 34 is arranged at the upper and lower positions and the left and right positions across the continuous tube 24 in the connecting portion 17, and the communicating demolding holes 34 on both upper and lower sides have steps 33 extending in the left and right directions, and the communicating demolding holes 34 on both left and right sides have steps 33 extending in the upper and lower directions. Therefore, the stepped concave portion 101 of the mold 100 and the stepped convex portion 111 of the counterpart mold 110 can be engaged in a complex manner, and the mold 100 can be further reliably prevented from tipping over.

[0044] <Implementation method 2> Embodiment 2 of the present disclosure is shown in Figure 8-Figure 14 The connector 10A according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure is a single-pole connector having one cavity 19, which is different from the connector 10 of the first embodiment described above, which is a multi-pole connector. In the following description, parts having common functions with those of the first embodiment described above are denoted by the same reference numerals as those of the first embodiment described above.

[0045] like Figure 8As shown, the connector 10A includes a connector housing 11, a terminal part 12, a stopper 13, and a sealing member 14. The connector housing 11 includes a housing body 15, a fitting cylinder 16 surrounding the outer side of the housing body 15, and a connecting portion 17 connecting the housing body 15 and the fitting cylinder 16 in a radial direction. A fitting space 18 capable of fitting the hood 93 of the counterpart connector 90 is formed between the housing body 15 and the fitting cylinder 16 and in front of the connecting portion 17. The terminal part 12 is inserted into a cavity 19 formed in the housing body 15, and is stopped by a lance 21, thereby initially limiting the terminal part 12 from coming out of the housing body 15. In addition, the lance 21 is prevented from bending by the stopper 13 installed in the housing body 15, thereby further limiting the terminal part 12 from coming out of the housing body 15. The sealing member 14 is installed on the sealing surface 27 of the housing body 15. Furthermore, a plurality of first mold release holes 31 and second mold release holes 32 (communication mold release holes 34) are formed to open in the connection portion 17. As described above, the basic structure of the connector 10A is the same as that of the connector 10 of the first embodiment.

[0046] like Fig.10 As shown, the housing body 15 has a cylindrical barrel portion 43 protruding rearward from the connecting portion 17. The inner side of the barrel portion 43 has a cavity 19. The communicating demolding holes 34 are arranged in pairs at the left and right sides of the barrel portion 43 in the connecting portion 17 and are arranged at the lower side of the upper and lower sides of the barrel portion 43, but not at the upper side. The upper end of the barrel portion 43 is connected to a protruding wall 44 protruding rearward from the upper end of the connecting portion 17.

[0047] like Fig. 9 As shown, similar to the first embodiment, rib-like protrusions 28 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the housing body 15 at respective positions of the upper, lower, left, and right sides spaced apart in the circumferential direction. Fig.10 As shown in FIG. 1 , each protrusion 28 located on the left and right sides and the lower side is arranged so as to be visually confirmed from the rear through the corresponding connecting demolding hole 34. In other words, each connecting demolding hole 34 is formed in the connecting portion 17 at a position opposite to the rear surface of each protrusion 28 located on the left and right sides and the lower side. The protrusion 28 located on the upper side is blocked by the connecting portion 17 and is in a state where it cannot be visually confirmed from the rear. As described later, the rear surface of the protrusion 28 located on the upper side is molded by the slide mold 120 for forming the locking hole 39 of the locking arm 37.

[0048] like Fig.11 As shown, the locking hole 39 of the locking arm 37 has a narrow space 45 whose width tapers toward the rear at the rear of the rectangular opening portion that is long in the front-rear direction when viewed from above. When the sealing member 14 is not mounted on the housing body 15, the locking hole 39 opens above the sealing surface 27.

[0049] In the second embodiment, when molding the connector housing 11, although not shown in detail, a mating mold 110 for molding the fitting space 18 and the front surface of each protrusion 28, a mold for molding the rear surface of each protrusion 28 located on the left and right sides and the lower side (although not shown in the second embodiment, it is the same mold as the mold 100 of the first embodiment, hereinafter referred to as "mold"), and a sliding mold 120 for molding the rear surface of the protrusion 28 located on the upper side and the locking hole 39 of the locking arm 37 are used. Fig.12 ). As in the first embodiment, the counter mold 110 and the mold are combined to be able to slide in the front-rear direction away from each other. In contrast, the counter mold 110 and the sliding mold 120 are combined to be able to slide in the directions orthogonal to each other (front direction and upward direction).

[0050] Specifically, the counter mold 110, the mold, and the sliding mold 120 are combined with each other, and the space formed therein is filled with molten resin. After the resin solidifies, the mold is first pulled backward relative to the counter mold 110. At this time, as in the first embodiment, since the mold has a T-shaped or L-shaped cross-sectional shape corresponding to the opening cross-sectional shape of the demolding hole 34, it is possible to prevent the mold from tipping over.

[0051] Next, the sliding mold 120 is pulled upward relative to the counterpart mold 110. Fig.12 As shown, the slide mold 120 has a cross-sectional shape corresponding to the opening cross-sectional shape of the locking hole 39, and has a tapered narrow width portion 121 at the rear portion corresponding to the narrow width space 45. The lower surface of the slide mold 120 is a molding surface for molding the upper end portion of the sealing surface 27.

[0052] Finally, the counterpart mold 110 is pulled forward. The counterpart mold 110 has an elongated recess 112 having an opening cross section corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the slide mold 120. A pair of left and right scraper surfaces 113 corresponding to the narrow space 45 of the locking hole 39 and the narrow portion 121 of the slide mold 120 are provided at the rear of the elongated recess 112. Each scraper surface 113 is a tapered surface that narrows the opening width of the elongated recess 112 toward the rear, and constitutes the left and right side surfaces of the rear of the elongated recess 112.

[0053] When the sliding die 120 is pulled out, burrs may be generated at a position of the sealing surface 27 corresponding to the joint surface (parting surface) between the sliding die 120 and the mating die 110. In the second embodiment, even if burrs are generated on the sealing surface 27 by pulling out the sliding die 120, the scraping surfaces 113 of the elongated recesses 112 can scrape off the burrs on the sealing surface 27 during the subsequent forward movement of the mating die 110 (see Fig.13). Therefore, in the second embodiment, burrs can be removed from the sealing surface 27 by moving the other mold 110, and a smooth and good sealing surface 27 can be formed even if there is no communicating demolding hole 34 on the upper side.

[0054] <Implementation method 3> Embodiment 3 of the present disclosure is shown in Fig.15 .like Fig.15 As shown, the connector 10B involved in the third embodiment of the present disclosure is configured by adding a wire cover 46 to the connector 10 of the first embodiment described above. Although the details of the wire cover 46 are not shown, it is made of synthetic resin and has a cap shape, and is attached to the connector housing 11 from the rear. The wire cover 46 is configured to cover the lead-out portion of each wire 80 that is led out to the rear from the cavity 19 of each cylindrical portion 25. In addition, the wire cover 46 has a plurality of positioning portions 47 protruding forward from its cover portion. Each positioning portion 47 has a T-shaped or L-shaped cross-sectional shape corresponding to the opening cross-section of each communicating demolding hole 34, and is arranged corresponding to each communicating demolding hole 34. When the wire cover 46 is attached to the connector housing 11, each positioning portion 47 is inserted into the corresponding communicating demolding hole 34 from the rear. As a result, the wire cover 46 is attached to the connector housing 11 in a positioned state.

[0055] According to the third embodiment, since the wire cover 46 can be positioned using the communicating knockout hole 34 , there is no need to form a dedicated positioning hole or the like for positioning the wire cover 46 in the connector housing 11 , and the structure of the connector 10B can be simplified.

[0056] [Other embodiments of the present disclosure] It should be considered that the above-mentioned Embodiments 1 to 3 disclosed this time are illustrative and non-restrictive in all aspects. In the above-mentioned embodiments 1-3, the step of the second demolding hole is in a shape extending in a direction perpendicular to the side edge of the first demolding hole. In contrast, according to other embodiments, the step of the second demolding hole may be in a shape extending obliquely in a direction intersecting the side edge of the first demolding hole at an acute angle or an obtuse angle. In the above-mentioned Embodiment 3, the wire cover having the positioning portion is attached to the connector of Embodiment 1. On the other hand, according to another embodiment, the wire cover having the positioning portion may be attached to the connector of Embodiment 2. In the third embodiment, the positioning portion has a function of positioning the wire cover to the connector housing. In contrast, according to another embodiment, the positioning portion may have a locking function to be locked to the connecting portion in addition to the above-mentioned positioning function. In the third embodiment, the positioning portion is fitted into the communicating mold release hole formed by the first mold release hole and the second mold release hole. In contrast, according to another embodiment, the positioning portion may be fitted into either the first mold release hole or the second mold release hole. Description of Reference Numerals
