Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The invention relates to a fabric take-up device comprising a take-up roll, a press roll and a bar inserted in the press roll. The invention further relates to a method for mounting a bar in a fabric take-up device. BACKGROUND
[0002] It is known that a fabric take-up device of a weaving machine comprises a take-up roll and one or more press rolls, wherein the woven fabric is transported away from the beating-up line between the take-up roll and the press roll. The press roll is supported at its ends and pressed onto the take-up roll. When the press roll is supported only at its ends, the pressure applied to the fabric is greater at the side ends of the fabric than in the middle of the fabric. Therefore, in order to apply force to the press roll along its entire length with a uniform force distribution towards the take-up roll, it is known to provide a bar which is inserted in the press roll such that opposite first and second side ends protrude from the press roll, wherein one or two bearings are arranged inside the press roll between the bar and the press roll. It is known from EP 0 107 798 A1 that, in order to mount the bar, a lever for receiving the bar is provided, wherein the bar is fixed to the lever using a pin. The lever is attached at one end for a swivel movement and the opposite end is subjected to the action of a locking screw to apply force to the bar towards the take-up roll. SUMMARY
[0003] It is an object of the invention to provide a fabric take-up device comprising a take-up roll, a press roll and a bar inserted in the press roll to allow a reliable mounting of the bar. It is a further object of the invention to provide a method for mounting a bar in a fabric take-up device.
[0004] These objects are achieved by a fabric take-up device having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of claim 15. Preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
[0005] According to a first aspect, a fabric take-up device is provided, comprising a take-up roll, a press roll, a bar inserted in the press roll, and a lever, wherein the bar has a first end protruding from the press roll, a second end, and an elongated portion extending between the first end and the second end, wherein at the first end the bar is mounted using the lever, wherein the lever applies force to the bar towards the take-up roll, wherein at the first end the bar is provided with a cut-out extending transverse to a longitudinal direction of the bar for forming a top abutment surface, wherein a bottom contact surface of the lever contacts the bar at the top abutment surface to apply force to the bar towards the take-up roll, and wherein the top abutment surface is configured to interact with the bottom surface of the lever to prevent a rotational movement of the bar around an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the bar.
[0006] In the present application and in the following claims, the indefinite article "a" or "an" means "one or more". In particular, the fabric take-up device in the embodiments comprises one or more press rolls and / or one or more levers for mounting one bar.
[0007] Further, in the present application and in the following claims, "first" and "second" are used only to distinguish one element from another element and do not indicate any order of the elements.
[0008] According to the present application, the cut forming the top abutment surface is formed in the bar, wherein the lever contacts the top abutment surface with its bottom contact surface. The top abutment surface is formed and arranged such that when the lever is brought into contact with the top abutment surface, the interaction between the top abutment surface of the bar and the bottom surface of the lever allows to prevent a rotational movement of the bar around an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the bar, in other words, a rotational movement of the bar within the press roll. In the context of the present application, the expression "prevent" is used to describe that the rotational movement is limited to a tolerable range. The bar in the embodiments is a straight bar. In other embodiments, the bar is curved or bent. In the embodiments, the bar has a circular cross-section. However, the present application is not limited to the use of a bar having a circular cross-section, as long as the bar inserted into the press roll does not hinder the rotational movement of the press roll. In the embodiments, one, two or more inner bearings are arranged between the bar and the press roll.
[0009] In the embodiments, both the first end and the second end of the bar are provided with a cut in order to form an abutment surface at both the first end and the second end. In other embodiments, the mounting structure for mounting the second end of the bar is different from the mounting structure used at the first end. As mentioned above, the expressions "first" and "second" are used only to distinguish one element from another element and do not indicate any order of the elements. Further, depending on the boundary conditions, the "first end" is the left end or the right end of the bar when the take-up device is viewed from the front of the weaving machine.
[0010] In embodiments, the cut extends across the width of the rod. When a cut is provided that extends across the width of the rod, a top abutment surface is formed, which has two abutment regions that are distributed along the circumference of the rod. This allows to counteract the torque acting on the rod in either direction, thereby reliably preventing rotation of the rod within the press roll. The size of the two abutment regions depends, inter alia, on the depth of the cut, the length of the cut in the longitudinal direction of the rod, and the size of the rod. In embodiments, the rod is a massive rod, wherein the two abutment regions seamlessly merge together. In other embodiments, the rod is a hollow rod, also referred to as a tube, wherein the two abutment regions are distinct from each other. In this case, the size of the abutment regions further depends on the wall thickness of the rod. The depth of the cut in embodiments is for example selected to be between about 25% and 75% of the outer radius of the rod, in particular between about 25% and 50% of the outer radius of the rod. The rod can be made of metal, such as steel, fiber-reinforced synthetic material, carbon material, or any suitable material.
[0011] In embodiments, the cut has a V-shaped cutting surface. In other embodiments, the cut has a straight or stepped bottom cutting surface for simplifying manufacturing.
[0012] In embodiments, an axial abutment surface is formed at the cut, which is configured to interact with a side contact surface of the lever to limit movement of the rod in the longitudinal direction. Depending on the design of the cut, exactly one or two opposite axial abutment surfaces can be formed to limit movement in one or two directions. Furthermore, depending on the position and / or length of the cut in the longitudinal direction of the rod, in the initial installation position, the side contact surface of the lever contacts the axial abutment surface to prevent movement, or is arranged at a distance, thus allowing limited movement.
[0013] In embodiments, the axial abutment surface is a stepped surface or a planar surface that is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the rod.
[0014] In embodiments, both the axial abutment surface and the top abutment surface are stepped surfaces or planar surfaces that are oriented perpendicular to each other. In other words, a cut is provided that has a straight or stepped bottom cutting surface and at least one straight or stepped side cutting surface.
[0015] In embodiments, the cut-out is groove-shaped with two opposite side cutting surfaces. In other embodiments, the cut-out extends to the end face at the first end of the rod. Thus, an open cut-out is provided with only one side cutting surface. In embodiments, the rod is provided with a cut-out extending to the respective end face at both the first and second end, wherein the fabric take-up device comprises two levers arranged at opposite ends, wherein the first lever has a first side contact surface contacting the side cutting surface at the first end and the second lever has a second side contact surface contacting the side cutting surface at the second end, thereby limiting the movement of the rod in either direction.
[0016] As mentioned above, in embodiments, the rod is a hollow rod. In embodiments, a protrusion is provided at the bottom contact surface of the lever, wherein the protrusion protrudes into the rod when the bottom contact surface contacts the top abutting surface. This protrusion functions as a guide for positioning the rod and lever correctly when mounting the rod.
[0017] In embodiments, the pressure roller is mounted to the lever using a bearing.
[0018] In other embodiments, the fabric take-up device further comprises a holder, wherein the pressure roller is mounted in the holder via an outer bearing.
[0019] In embodiments, the outer bearing has a semi-circular shape with two side ends, wherein preferably the semi-circular shape becomes a substantially straight line at the two side ends, wherein the outer bearing supports the pressure roller at its side ends. The design of the outer bearing allows the outer bearing to adapt itself to the diameter of the pressure roller which varies due to tolerances or wear.
[0020] In embodiments, the outer bearing is provided with a boundary for limiting the axial movement of the pressure roller.
[0021] In embodiments, the holder is further used to support the lever, wherein in embodiments, the first end of the lever is rotatably mounted to the holder. The lever is rotatable between an open position and a closed position for mounting or dismounting the rod.
[0022] In embodiments, the holder comprises a stationary arm and a rotating arm, wherein the outer bearing is arranged at the rotating arm and wherein the rotating arm is forced towards the stationary arm using a force applying element, in particular a spring. In other words, the pressure roller and the rod are supported separately. The rod is preferably supported in the pressure roller via one or more inner bearings and pressed towards the take-up roller using the lever. The pressure roller contacts the take-up roller and is supported at the opposite side via the outer bearing in the rotating arm which is pressed towards the stationary arm to force the pressure roller towards the take-up roller.
[0023] In embodiments, the rotating arm of the holder and the lever have a common axis of rotation.
[0024] As mentioned above, in embodiments the first end of the lever is rotatably mounted to the holder. Further, in embodiments the second end of the lever is connected to the stationary arm using a pull rod, in particular a threaded pull rod.
[0025] In embodiments in which the press roller and the rod are supported using a swivel arm and a lever, respectively, the force exerted by the rod on the press roller is variable by setting the position of the lever relative to the position of the swivel arm.
[0026] In embodiments a sensor device is provided which is configured to measure the distance between a swivel arm reference surface on the top of the swivel arm and the top abutment surface, and / or the distance between a swivel arm reference surface on the top of the swivel arm and a lever reference surface on the top of the lever. The sensor device in embodiments is configured to determine the force exerted by the rod on the press roller based on the measured distance.
[0027] The sensor device in embodiments comprises different entities for measuring the distance and for determining the exerted force based on the measured distance. In embodiments the entity for determining the exerted force is integrated in a central control system of the weaving machine. In other embodiments the sensor device and / or the entity for determining the exerted force is separate from the central control system.
[0028] In embodiments the press roller is supported by an inner bearing fixed to the rod between the first end and the second end of the rod.
[0029] According to a second aspect a method for mounting a rod in a fabric take-up device is provided, the fabric take-up device comprising a rod, a take-up roller, a press roller and a lever, wherein the rod has a first end, a second end and an elongated portion extending between the first end and the second end, the method comprising inserting the rod into the press roller such that the first end protrudes from the press roller; and mounting the rod using the lever at least at the first end, wherein the lever swivels to exert a force on the rod towards the take-up roller, wherein at the first end the rod has a cut-out extending transverse to a longitudinal direction of the rod for forming a top abutment surface, the method comprising bringing a bottom contact surface of the lever into contact with the rod at the top abutment surface to exert the force on the rod towards the take-up roller, wherein the top abutment surface interacts with the bottom contact surface of the lever to prevent a rotational movement of the rod around an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the rod. Detailed Implementation
[0031] In all the accompanying drawings, the same or similar elements will be represented by the same reference numerals.
[0032] Figure 1 The fabric take-up device 1 is shown in perspective. The fabric take-up device includes a take-up roller 2, a pressure roller 3, and a rod 4 inserted into the pressure roller 3. Figure 1 The winding device 1 shown includes two mounting and support structures 11, 12 for mounting the rod 4 and supporting the pressure roller 3 at opposite ends. In the illustrated embodiment, the mounting and support structures 11, 12 at opposite ends are structurally similar and will be described in more detail below with reference to several accompanying drawings. In other embodiments, one of the two mounting and support structures 11, 12 differs in design.
[0033] Figure 1 The fabric take-up device 1 shown includes an additional second pressure roller 300, wherein the support structures for the pressure roller 3 and the additional second pressure roller 300 are designed differently. In other embodiments, the additional second pressure roller 300 and the pressure roller 3 are supported by support structures that are designed identically.
[0034] The rod 4 has a first end 41 and a second end 42 protruding from the pressure roller 3 on opposite sides, and an elongated portion 43 extending between the first end 41 and the second end 42 (see...). Figure 12 The elongated portion is in Figure 1 It is not visible in the middle. Figure 1 The mounting and support structures 11 and 12 shown each include a lever 5 arranged at a first end 41 and a second end 42, respectively, which is used to apply force toward the rod 4 toward the take-up roller 2.
[0035] Figure 1The mounting and support structures 11 and 12 shown further each include a retainer 7 having a stationary arm 71 and a rotating arm 72. The stationary arm 71 is attached to the loom frame (not shown).

[0037] Figure 2 Shown in magnified view Figure 1 The mounting and support structure 11 includes a lever 5. Figure 3 Shown in magnified view Figure 2 The mounting and support structure 11 has no levers 5. Figure 4 The first end 41 of rod 4 is shown separately. Figure 5 Lever 5 is shown separately. Figure 6 and Figure 7 Shown from the rear Figure 1 11. Installation and support structure. Figure 8 Shown in side view Figure 1 11. Installation and support structure.
[0038] like Figure 2 , Figure 5 and Figure 6 As shown, lever 5 has a first end 53 that is rotatably mounted to retainer 7, more specifically to the stationary arm 71 of retainer 7. A second end 54 of lever 5 is connected to the opposite end of stationary arm 71 by a pull rod; in the illustrated embodiment, the pull rod is a threaded pull rod 73. Rotating arm 72 ( Figure 6 (Not shown) is rotatably mounted to the stationary arm 71, wherein in the illustrated embodiment, the rotating arm 72 and the lever 5 share a common axis of rotation 75. The take-up roller 2 can be driven by the drive gear 10.
[0039] like Figure 3 and Figure 4 As shown, at the first end 41, the rod 4 has a cut 6 that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction 40 of the rod 4 to form a top abutment surface 62 and an axial abutment surface 61. In the illustrated embodiment, both the axial abutment surface 61 and the top abutment surface 62 are planar surfaces oriented perpendicular to each other.
[0040] In the illustrated embodiment, the cut 6 extends across the width of the rod 4 and has a straight bottom cut surface. The rod 4 is a hollow rod, such that the top abutment surface 62 has two distinct abutment regions 621, 622 forming the straight bottom cut surface, which are distributed along the periphery of the rod 4, arranged on a common plane, and facing the same direction.
[0041] As Figure 2 , Figure 5 and Figure 6 illustrate, the bottom contact surface 51 of the lever 5 contacts the bar 4 at the top abutment surface 62 to exert a force on the bar 4 towards the winding up roll 2. Two abutment areas 621, 622 of the top abutment surface 62 interact with the bottom contact surface 51 of the lever 5 to counteract a torque acting on the bar 4, thereby preventing a rotational movement of the bar 4 about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction 40 of the bar 4. For example, the bar 4 is arranged to have a play between the two surfaces 57, 58 of the lever 5, in other words, in use, the bar 4 can contact one of the surfaces 57 or 58.
[0042] In the illustrated embodiment, a protrusion 52 is provided at the bottom contact surface 51 of the lever 5, wherein the protrusion 52 protrudes into the bar 4 when the bottom contact surface 51 contacts the top abutment surface 62, as illustrated in Figure 2 .
[0043] In the illustrated embodiment, the cut-out 6 extends to the end face 44 at the first end 41 of the bar 4, see Figures 1 to 13 . Thus, just one axial abutment surface 61 is formed at the cut-out 6, which is a planar surface oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction 40 of the bar 4. Figure 4 The axial abutment surface 61 interacts with the side contact surface 55 of the lever 5 to limit the movement of the bar 4 in the longitudinal direction 40, wherein in the illustrated embodiment, the axial abutment surface 61 only limits the movement to the left within the plane of the drawing.
[0044] Figures 1 to 3
[0045] As illustrated in Figure 7 , the pressure roll 3 is mounted in the holder 7 via an outer bearing 8, more specifically, in the swivel arm 72 of the holder 7. Figure 9 The outer bearing 8 is shown separately. In the illustrated embodiment, the outer bearing 8 has a semi-circular shape with two side ends 80, which becomes essentially straight lines near the two side ends 80. In the illustrated embodiment, the outer bearing 8 is further provided with a border 81 for limiting the axial movement of the pressure roll 3.
[0046] The outer bearing 8 supports the pressure roll 3 at its side ends 80.
[0047] Figure 10 The outer bearing 8 is shown in a view from the rear, together with two lines, which indicate two diameters of the press roll 3, which are supported by the outer bearing 8, wherein the full line shows the press roll 3 with the larger diameter and the dashed line shows the press roll 3 with the smaller diameter, wherein the diameters can change, for example, due to tolerances or wear, for example, when the coating on the press roll 3 wears. The outer bearing 8 supports the press roll 3 at its side end 80, without play, regardless of the change in diameter, in particular near the substantially straight line 84 of the outer bearing 8.
[0048] As shown in Figure 2 , Figure 3 , Figure 7 and Figure 8 , a force element, in particular a spring 74, is used to exert a force on the swivel arm 72 towards the stationary arm 71, thereby pressing the press roll 3 against the take-up roll 2.
[0049] As shown in Figures 11 to 13 , according to the first embodiment, the press roll 3 is further supported and pressed against the take-up roll 2 by two inner bearings 9 arranged on the elongated portion 43 of the bar 4 between the first end 41 and the second end 42 of the bar 4, which act on the inner surface of the press roll 3. As shown in Figure 12 and Figure 13 , the inner bearings 9 are mounted to the bar 4, using a positioning pin 91 to secure them in place. Figure 12 and Figure 13 , the inner bearings 9 are ring-shaped plain bearings or slide bearings. In an alternative (not shown), the inner bearings 9 can be another kind of bearing, such as a cylindrical bearing or a roller bearing.
[0050] The lever 5 and the swivel arm 72 allow the position of the bar 4 relative to the take-up roll 2 to be set by means of the lever 5, independently of the positioning of the press roll 3 relative to the bar 4 by means of the swivel arm 72. Thus, by setting the position of the lever 5 relative to the position of the swivel arm 72, the force exerted by the bar 4 on the press roll 3 is variable.
[0051] As shown schematically in Figure 8 , in the shown embodiment, a sensor device 100 is provided, which is configured to measure the distance D between a swivel arm reference surface 720 on the top of the swivel arm 72 and a lever reference surface 56 on the top of the lever 5. The sensor device 100 is further configured to determine the force exerted by the bar 4 on the press roll 3 based on the measured distance D.
[0052] According to the embodiment of Figure 14 , the press roll 3 is further supported and pressed against the take-up roll 2 by one inner bearing 9 arranged on the bar 4 between the first end 41 and the second end 42 of the bar 4.
[0053] In Figure 15In an alternative embodiment of the rod 4, only the first end 41 of the rod 4 is provided with the cut-out 6 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the rod 4.
[0054] In Figure 16 In an alternative embodiment of the rod 4, the cut-out 6 is in the shape of a groove having two opposite side cutting surfaces to form two opposite axial abutment surfaces 60, 61 to limit the movement of the rod 4 in both directions.
[0055] In Figure 17 In an alternative embodiment of the rod 4, the axial abutment surface 62 is a stepped surface, which is oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the rod 4 and which has different abutment areas 621, 622 of the bottom cutting surface forming the step.
[0056] In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the holder 7 with the swivel arm 72 and the stationary arm 71 for the outer bearing 8 can be replaced by a holder provided with a cylindrical bearing or a roller bearing. Thereby, for example, the inner ring of the bearing can cooperate with the outer surface of the press roll 3, while the outer ring of the bearing is mounted to the holder. Of course, other kinds of bearings can also be considered for supporting the press roll 3.
[0057] Figure 18 A side view of an alternative embodiment of the lever 5 is shown, as well as the first end of the rod 4. Figure 18 The lever 5 shown in Figure 5 and Figure 6 is similar to the lever 5 shown in Figure 18 In the embodiment of the lever 5, the lever 5 has a boundary edge 85 in the region of the left side surface 58, which is in contact with the rod 4, and a protrusion 83 in the region of the right side surface 57, which is in contact with the rod 4, which protrusion 83 extends beyond the protrusion 52 provided at the bottom contact surface 51 of the lever 5. The protrusion 83 is adapted to ensure that the rod 4 will remain between the protrusion 83 and the boundary edge 85 of the lever 5 when the lever 5 is moved upwards a certain distance. Furthermore, the protrusion 52 provided at the bottom contact surface 51 is larger than the protrusion 52 shown in Figure 5 and Figure 6 .
[0058] Figure 19 An alternative embodiment of the fabric take-up device 1 is shown in a perspective view. Figure 19 The fabric take-up device 1 shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 is similar to the fabric take-up device 1 shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2 , and the same reference numerals are used for the same or similar elements. In contrast to the embodiments shown in Figure 19In this embodiment, the spring 74 that applies force from the stationary arm 71 to the rotating arm 72 is a conical spring disposed between the surface 76 of the stationary arm 71 and the nut 77, wherein the nut 77 is screwed onto a threaded rod 78. In use, the length of the spring 74 can be adjusted by screwing the nut 77 onto the threaded rod 78, and the length of the spring 74 can be measured between the surface 76 and the nut 77 using a ruler or similar device.
[0059] Figure 20 Shown in side view with Figure 19 Another alternative embodiment of the fabric take-up device 1 shown is similar to the fabric take-up device 1. Figure 21 Shown in side view Figure 20 The fabric winding device 1 and the opening device 30. Figure 20 and Figure 21 The fabric take-up device 1 shown is... Figure 19 The fabric winding device 1 shown is similar, and the same reference numerals are used for the same or similar elements.
[0060] like Figure 20 and Figure 21 In the alternative embodiment shown, the spring 74 that applies force toward the rotating arm 72 toward the stationary arm 71 is a cylindrical spring arranged between the surface 76 of the stationary arm 71 and the retaining ring 79, which is arranged on the threaded tie rod 78 adjacent to the nut 77 on the side of the nut 77 facing the surface 76.
[0061] like Figure 21 As shown, the fabric take-up device 1 in the illustrated embodiment further includes an opening device 30. The opening device 30 includes a rod 31 and a lever 32, wherein the rod 31 is connected to the lever 32 via a first pivot 33. The lever 32 is rotatable about a second pivot 34 and is mounted via the second pivot 34 on a frame 35, the frame being in… Figure 21 Partially shown. Rod 31 is connected to stationary arm 71 via third pivot 36. Figure 21 In the position shown, the surface 37 of the rod 31 in the section above the first pivot 33 abuts against the pivot 34, so that the stationary arm 71 is in the use position.
[0062] By rotating lever 32 about the second pivot 34 in the direction of arrow R (i.e., clockwise in the plane of the figure) until the surface 38 of lever 31 in the section below the first pivot 33 abuts against the second pivot 34, the stationary arm 71 moves upward by rotating about the axis of rotation 75, thereby removing the pressure roller 3 from the take-up roller 2 arranged below the pressure roller (see...). Figure 1 and Figure 2). In order to avoid that the pressure roller 3 directly contacts the stationary arm 71, in the shown embodiment a cushioning element 39 is fixed to the stationary arm 71 between the stationary arm 71 and the pressure roller 3.
[0063] When the lever 32 is moved again in the opposite direction of the arrow R, i.e. counter-clockwise in the plane of the drawing, the pressure roller 3 is pressed against the take-up roller 2, so that the pressure roller 3 is moved into the use position. In the use position, the pivots 33, 34 and 36 define an over-center mechanism to keep the pressure roller 3 and the take-up roller 2 pressed against each other, so that the stationary arm 71 is kept in the stationary use position.
