Abstract

The present disclosure provides an optical computing based storage and operation device and an optical computing device. The storage and operation device comprises one or more phase shift units, each configured to apply a phase shift amount to a corresponding optical signal to shift the phase of the optical signal, wherein the phase shift unit comprises a phase change material configured to maintain a refractive index unchanged in case that an external excitation applied thereto is reduced or removed, and the applied phase shift amount is determined by the refractive index of the phase change material; and one or more multimode interference units, each configured to cause a corresponding plurality of input optical signals to perform multimode interference to generate a plurality of output optical signals, wherein at least one of the plurality of input optical signals is an optical signal shifted in phase via a corresponding phase shift unit.
