Description
[0001] The invention relates to an insect screen device according to claim 1, which is intended for windows and doors.
[0002] Insect screens for windows and doors are available in a wide variety of designs. Besides permanently mounted fly screens, there are several solutions for temporarily attaching insect screens to windows and doors. Temporary installation is particularly recommended in temperate climates where the presence of bothersome insects is seasonal, meaning insect protection is only needed during certain times of the year. Since permanently installed fly screens are visually unappealing, there is a significant demand for removable insect screens in these climates.
[0003] There are therefore already numerous solutions for temporarily installing insect screens on windows or doors. For example, adhesive tape can be used to attach hook-and-loop fasteners to the window frame, to which a mesh screen is then attached using corresponding hook-and-loop fasteners. The disadvantage of this method is that the mesh can be easily damaged when attaching and removing it, and it is difficult to achieve a tight and secure fit of the insect screen on the window.
[0004] German patent application DE 101 26 006 A1 discloses a clip-on frame designed to be inserted into a window frame. This frame consists of an outer frame that is placed in front of the window frame from the outside and has elements that engage with the window frame to secure the outer clip-on frame to the window frame. To facilitate easy insertion of the clip-on frame into the window frame, some of the engagement elements are spring-loaded, allowing them to slide parallel to the clip-on frame towards the inside of the frame and then automatically return to the outside of the clip-on frame under the influence of the spring force.

[0011] An insect screen device according to the invention has a self-supporting frame. In an insect screen device according to the present invention, this frame is relatively thin, so that it can be inserted into the frame of a modern thermal insulation window from the inside and is located in the space between the outer window frame and the frame of the actual window. The frame engages in the groove located on the outside of the window frame.
