Description

[0001] The invention relates to the arrangement of a cover of a convertible top compartment in a vehicle designed as a convertible, wherein the cover can be pivoted via links between a position covering the convertible top compartment and a position not covering the convertible top compartment, wherein the cover has at least one first guide element at a distance from its pivot connection, and at least one second guide element is provided on the body side, wherein the two guide elements interact when transferring the cover into its closed position until the closed position is reached and guide the cover, wherein the arrangement of the first and second guide elements is designed if it has a guide pin or slot block and a guide.

[0002] An arrangement for a convertible top compartment lid in a convertible vehicle is known, for example, from DE 10 2011 015 093 A1. The lid can be pivoted via links between a position covering the convertible top compartment and a position not covering the convertible top compartment. In this position not covering the convertible top compartment, the convertible top can be opened or closed. After the convertible top is opened or closed, the lid is moved into its position covering the convertible top compartment. Generic arrangements for a convertible top compartment lid are known from DE 43 36 278 A1 and US 6 866 327 B2. DE 43 36 278 A1 discloses a pivot connection that engages the entire opening and closing movement and accordingly restricts the installation space in the lid compartment.

[0003] It is known in practice to pivotally mount the lid of the convertible top compartment via a four-bar linkage. When the lid is designed as the rear lid of a convertible, the four-bar linkage pivotally engages the lid on both sides in a region located quite far forward. Due to the large distance between the region of the pivotally mounted lid and the rear end of the lid, there is a risk that this rear end will deform in the closed end position of the lid, i.e., in its position covering the convertible top compartment. US 6 866 327 B2 discloses such a pivot connection, which engages only at the end of the closing movement and at the beginning of the opening movement. However, in addition to the aforementioned disadvantage, it is sensitive to resulting tolerances and can therefore exhibit engagement errors.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to further develop an arrangement of a cover of a convertible top compartment in a vehicle designed as a convertible in such a way that the above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided in a cost-effective manner.

[0005] The problem is solved by an arrangement which is designed according to the features of patent claim 1.

[0006] In the arrangement according to the invention, it is provided that the guide groove has a horizontally running first section, a second section which runs at an obtuse angle to the first section and a third section which is quite short compared to the first section and also runs horizontally, wherein the first section is open at the top in such a way that the guide bolt or sliding block on the respective side of the cover can move into the guide groove of the guide element assigned to this guide bolt or sliding block.

[0007] In particular, it is intended that the two guide elements interact not only when transferring the lid into its closed position, but also when moving the lid from the closed position. The interacting guide elements guide the lid when transferring the lid from the closed position.

[0008] According to a preferred embodiment, two first guide elements and two second guide elements are provided. The guide elements are arranged on both sides of the cover, to the right and left, relative to the forward direction of travel of the vehicle. This results in the cover being guided on both sides when moving the cover into its closed position and preferably also when moving the cover out of its closed position.

[0009] Preferably, because of its particularly simple design, the guide pin is fixed to the cover and the body-side, thus body-shell-fixed guide is firmly connected to a convertible top bearing.

[0010] To ensure optimal guidance of the lid, in particular tension-free guidance of the lid, at least one of the guide elements, in particular all of the guide elements, is adjustable. It is particularly advantageous if one guide element is adjustable in the X direction and the other guide element is adjustable in the Y and Z directions. In this case, it is considered advantageous, in terms of structural simplicity, if the guide pin is adjustable in the X direction and the guide is adjustable in the Y and Z directions.

[0011] The X-direction is the direction of travel of the vehicle, thus the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, the Y-direction is the transverse direction of the vehicle and the Z-direction is the vertical direction of the vehicle.

[0012] According to a preferred development of the invention, it is provided that the two guide elements are arranged relative to one another in the closed position of the cover in such a way that one of the guide elements forms a stop for the other guide element in the event of a rear-end crash of the vehicle.

[0013] The invention, taking into account its further developments, thus proposes precise guidance of the lid during transfer to its closed position, at a distance from the pivoting range of the lid. In particular, a bolt is provided on the lid that retracts into the guide before the lid reaches the closed position, thus blocking a Z-movement of the lid tip, i.e., the end of the lid facing away from the pivoting range of the lid. Preferably, the lid is also positively guided in the X and Y directions.

[0014] The inventive design has the advantage that the lid is positively guided when closing and preferably also when opening, thus reducing the influence of vibrations on the lid. Furthermore, the guide can prevent the lid from shifting forward in a rear-end collision.

[0015] Further features of the invention emerge from the subclaims, the attached drawing and the description of the preferred embodiment shown in the drawing, without being limited thereto.

[0016] It shows: Fig. 1 a longitudinal center section through a body shell of a convertible for its rear area, specifically the upper area of the body shell with a cover mounted therein for closing a convertible top compartment, illustrated in the fully open position of the cover, Fig. 2 the order pursuant to Fig. 1 in a first intermediate position, starting from the position according to Fig. 1, Fig. 3 the order pursuant to Fig. 1 in a second intermediate position, starting from the position according to Fig. 1, Fig. 4 the order pursuant to Fig. 1, illustrated in the closed position of the lid.

[0017] Fig. Figure 1 basically shows, for the area behind a convertible top, a vehicle body shell 1, and a region 2 of the vehicle body shell 1, wherein the vehicle body shell 1 serves to accommodate a convertible top compartment in region 2. Furthermore, this figure shows a convertible top bearing 3 fixed to the body shell with convertible top bearing parts 4 arranged on both sides of the vehicle body, thus on the right and left, wherein the respective convertible top bearing part 4 accommodates two links 5, 6 of a convertible top 7. If the links 5 and 6 pivot, the convertible top 7 can be moved from the closed position to the open position, and vice versa. In the open position, the convertible top 7 is inserted into the convertible top compartment.

[0018] The convertible top compartment, i.e. the opening 8 formed in the upper area of the vehicle body 1, can be covered by a cover 9 for the convertible top compartment. This cover 9, which is arranged adjacent to the rear of the vehicle, is Fig. 1 is shown in its fully open end position, thus exposing the opening 8 or the convertible top compartment. The cover 9 is mounted on both sides via a four-bar linkage 10 in the vehicle body shell 1. The four-bar linkage allows the cover 9 not only to be pivoted, but also to be moved forward from the fully open position in the rear of the vehicle into the area above the opening 8 to close the opening 8.

[0019] Two links of the respective four-bar linkage 10 are designated by reference numerals 11 and 12. In the lower area, the links 11, 12 are pivotally mounted in a mount 13, which is bolted to the vehicle body 1. In the area of the upper ends, the links 11 and 12 are also pivotally connected to a mount 14, which is bolted to the cover 9.

[0020] The cover 9 has a guide element 15 at a distance from its pivot connection to the four-bar linkage 10, on the side facing the four-bar linkage 10. The respective convertible top bearing part 4 is U-shaped. It pivotally accommodates the links 5 and 6 in the area of one leg 16 and has a guide element 18 in the area of the other leg 17, closer to the rear of the vehicle, in the area of the free end of this leg 17. Thus, two guide elements 18 are provided on both sides of the vehicle bodyshell 1. The guide elements 15 and 18 arranged on the respective side of the vehicle bodyshell 1 interact when the cover 9 is transferred into its closed position until the closed position is reached and guide the cover 9.

[0021] The Fig. 1 to 4 show the arrangement, starting from the open position of the cover 9 according to Fig. 1, the subsequent intermediate positions according to the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 and the closed position of the cover 9 according to Fig. 4. The sequence of figures shows the interaction of the guide elements 15 and 18: The guide element 15 has a bolt 19 which is arranged parallel to the pivot axes of the lid 9. A guide groove 20 in the guide element 18 serves to guide the bolt 19 shortly before reaching the closed position of the lid 9 until reaching the closed position of the lid 9. This guide groove 20 has a substantially horizontally extending first section 21, a second section 22 which runs at an obtuse angle to the first section 21 and a third section 23 which is quite short and also runs horizontally. The first section 21 is open at the top so that, as can be seen from the illustration of the Fig.2, the bolt 19 on the respective side of the cover 9 can move into the guide groove 20 of the guide element 18 assigned to this bolt 19. When the cover 9 is pivoted further in the closing direction, the bolt 19 is moved into the second section 22 of the guide groove 20 and is thus guided in the X and Z directions, and also in the Z direction, since the bolt 19 rests against the base of the guide groove 20 or is positioned with only slight play to the base of the guide groove 20. When the cover 9 is moved into its closed position, and thus the convertible top compartment is completely covered by the cover 9, the bolt 19 is located in the region of the third section 23 of the guide groove 20, specifically the front end of this third section 23 of the guide groove 20. In the event of a rear-end collision with the introduction of a force into the cover 9, the two guide elements 18 thus serve as additional support or fixation of the cover 9 against forward displacement.

[0022] The bolt 19 is adjustable in the X direction and the guide element 18, thus the guide groove 20, is adjustable in the Y and Z directions.

[0023] To prevent deformation of the lid 9, an additional sliding guide is used in the convertible. This is attached to the left and right sides of the vehicle. The bolt 19 or a sliding block is fixed to the lid 9 and, when the lid 9 is closed, engages in the corresponding guide groove 20, where it is guided until the lid 9 reaches its end position. This has the advantage that the lid 9 is positively guided during opening and / or closing, thus reducing the influence of vibrations. In addition, the guide can prevent the lid 9 from shifting forward in the event of a rear-end collision.
