Description

[0001] The invention relates to a machining arrangement for machining components of an assembly at a machining station of a production line. The invention further relates to a method for machining components of an assembly at a machining station of a production line. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of a machining arrangement designed as a production line.

[0002] Machining arrangements are particularly known in connection with production lines in which, for example, vehicle bodies or body parts are machined. The machining arrangement comprises the production line along which, for example, component parts of a vehicle body are transported to be machined at a machining station, which may include, for example, welding of body side panels. In cases in which such machining arrangements must be intended or suitable for a plurality of different vehicle types, the use of so-called clamping frames has become established. The clamping frames are used to clamp corresponding body side panels in the required position. For this purpose, a clamping frame is equipped with appropriate devices, for example clamping and / or screwing devices. This results in the particular advantage of extensive flexibility.Due to the required variability of the workpieces produced, it is particularly necessary that the changing and / or storage device can be used in every work cycle, regardless of the number of clamping frames used. To keep efficiency as high as possible, the aim is to ensure that the clamping frame can be changed without negatively impacting the system's productive cycle times. To meet these requirements, solutions are required that, in addition to the boundary conditions already mentioned, also require as little space and height as possible while at the same time not incurring excessive foundation loads. At the same time, accessibility to the clamping frames, as well as robots and their tools, must be guaranteed to enable maintenance and repair.

[0003] Examples of processing arrangements are known, for example, from the document EP 1686048 B1. EP 1686048 B1 describes a system for welding vehicle bodies, wherein a welding station for welding the bodies and a conveyor line for conveying bodies through the welding stations are provided. Clamping frames are used to position the bodies during welding. The clamping frames are individually adapted to the body type to be welded in accordance with the boundary conditions explained above. Before a welding process, a clamping frame prepared according to the body type to be welded is inserted into the welding station. To insert the clamping frame between a previous location and the processing station, the corresponding clamping frame, which is slidably guided by a floor rail, is guided over this floor rail into the processing station.

[0004] One possibility for storing the various clamping frames in a storage unit is known from EP 1858750 B1. EP 1858750 B1 relates to a changing device for clamping frames in a processing arrangement. The processing arrangement has a changing device in which a number of clamping frames, for example three clamping frames, are arranged in a clamping frame magazine. The clamping frames can be rotated about a rotation axis. The clamping frames are arranged in such a way that when the clamping frame magazine is rotated, the plane of a different clamping frame can be positioned in a direction or plane parallel to the conveying direction of the processing arrangement. However, such a solution has the disadvantage that it requires an unnecessarily large amount of space due to the pivot axes involved.Secondly, the arrangement of the clamping frames on a clamping frame magazine that rotates around a rotation axis requires that the clamping frame magazine be designed to support correspondingly high loads. A further disadvantage is that, due to the design of the clamping frame magazine as a rotating device, it cannot be expanded.

[0005] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a processing arrangement which has a clamping frame magazine which, compared to the solution known from the prior art, is equipped with a reduced space requirement while being at least as accessible and which additionally offers the possibility of expansion.

[0006] The object is achieved by a method having the features of claim 1, a processing arrangement having the features of claim 4, and further by a use having the features of claim 15. Further advantageous embodiments and developments will become apparent from the following description. One or more features from the claims, the description, and the figures can be combined with one or more other features therein to form further embodiments of the invention. One or more features from the independent claims can also be combined with one or more other features. The proposed subject matter is to be understood only as a draft for formulating the invention, but without limiting it.

[0007] A machining arrangement for machining assembly parts of an assembly of a machining station of a production line is proposed.

[0008] The processing arrangement shows: - a conveyor system for transporting the assembly along the production line to and from the processing station, - a clamping frame magazine for holding a number of clamping frames arranged along a closed circuit, - a clamping frame changing system for moving and positioning a clamping frame from a transfer position to a processing station. The clamping frame changing system comprises: ◯ a parallel transport device for transporting the clamping frame from the transfer position to a pre-position and ◯ a transverse transport means for transporting the clamping frame from the pre-position to the processing station.

[0009] A clamping frame arranged on the clamping frame magazine can be conveyed along a closed circuit in a circular movement to provide a clamping frame for transfer from a receiving position of the clamping frame magazine to the transfer position.

[0010] The closed circulation is to be understood in such a way that the clamping frame magazine has at least one axis which can be moved around by a clamping frame of the clamping frame magazine and the clamping frame can thereby reach its starting position again.

[0011] The provision of a clamping frame from the number of clamping frames can, in particular, be designed such that each individual clamping frame located in the clamping frame magazine can be made available for transfer from a receiving position of the clamping frame magazine to the transfer position. This is achieved, in particular, by the fact that the receiving position is inevitably passed when a clamping frame is moved along the closed circuit.

[0012] In one embodiment of the processing arrangement, for example, the clamping frame magazine is provided with means for transporting clamping frames in a direction parallel to the production line direction and in a direction perpendicular to the production line direction for rotation-free circulation of the clamping frames in the clamping frame magazine. As means, in particular, rails can be provided which provide for movement of the clamping frames directly on the rails or by means of transfer carriages that are also movable on rails. The rotation-free circulation of the clamping frames is to be understood as the clamping frame performing the circulation in the circulation movement exclusively by means of translational movements, without any rotation, for example in a clamping frame plane, being necessary. This results in the advantage of a particularly space-saving circulation movement.

[0013] In one embodiment of the processing arrangement, it can be provided, for example, that the clamping frame changing system has a first transfer position and a second transfer position, wherein the first transfer position is arranged upstream of the processing position in the production line direction and the second transfer position is arranged downstream of the processing position in the production line direction. Furthermore, it can be provided that the clamping frame magazine has a first receiving position and a second receiving position for moving clamping frames of the number of clamping frames between the first receiving position and the first transfer position and between the second receiving position and the second transfer position in both directions. By providing receiving positions and transfer positions on both sides, viewed perpendicular to the production line direction, any direction of entry and exit of the clamping frames can be selected.Depending on the circumstances, for example depending on the position of a required clamping frame in the clamping frame changing magazine or also depending on the available free positions in the clamping frame changing system, the clamping frame changing process can thus be carried out in a particularly efficient manner.

[0014] In one embodiment of the processing arrangement, it can be provided, for example, that the clamping frame changing system has a storage transport means that is designed to be arranged on the clamping frame. The arrangement of the storage transport means on the clamping frame ensures, in particular, that the clamping frame can be transported from the receiving position of the clamping frame magazine to the transfer position. Furthermore, a transport of a clamping frame from the transfer position to the receiving position of the clamping frame magazine is carried out. The arrangement of the storage transport means on the clamping frame can, for example, be provided such that a temporary engagement connection exists between the storage transport means and the clamping frame. For example, it can be provided that the storage transport means has an engagement that engages in the clamping frame itself. However, it can also be provided that the clamping frame is located, for example, on a movable rail arrangement, which in turn is connected to the storage transport means. The connection between the rail system and the storage transport means can also be provided as a temporary and detachable connection, but it can also be provided that the connection between the storage transport means and the rail system is designed as a permanent connection.

[0015] Furthermore, it can be provided, for example, that the clamping frame is designed so that it can be docked onto the clamping frame magazine. The clamping frame can be introduced into the clamping frame magazine in such a way that an operative connection is brought about with an element of the clamping frame magazine. This operative connection can, in particular, bring about the transport of the clamping frame located in the clamping frame magazine along the closed circuit. In a case in which the clamping frame magazine is fully occupied, for example, a complete circulation of the clamping frames in the clamping frame magazine can be accomplished, so that each of the clamping frames located in the clamping frame magazine can be transported to one of the receiving positions.

[0016] In one embodiment of the processing arrangement, it can be provided, for example, that the clamping frame magazine has at least one magazine drive for bringing about the circular movement. Such a magazine drive can, for example, be designed such that the magazine drive is provided for simultaneous movement of the clamping frames located in the clamping frame magazine. It can also be provided that a magazine drive is provided for each individual clamping frame. The magazine drive can be arranged on the clamping frame either in a directly operative connection, or an indirect operative connection can also be provided, in which the magazine drive brings about a fastening element which is in turn operatively connected to one or more of the clamping frames.

[0017] One of the envisaged embodiments can, for example, be designed such that the circular movement occurs without any rotational movement of the clamping frames about the vertical direction. A clamping frame magazine that can accommodate the clamping frames and transport them in such a way that the clamping frames can be moved, for example, parallel and transversely to a conveying direction of the production line, leads to the advantage that the clamping frames do not have a space-consuming pivoting range. The exclusively linear travel movements possible in this type of embodiment also lead to a design of the clamping frame magazine such that the distances between the clamping frames can be very small. This, together with the circumferential transportability of the clamping frames, ensures that in addition to requiring very little space, the clamping frames have a high level of accessibility from both sides for maintenance and repair purposes.

[0018] A further advantage of the described embodiment is that the number of storage positions provided within the clamping frame magazine can be increased by attaching additional segments of the clamping frame magazine in the direction parallel to and / or transverse to the conveying direction of the production line.

[0019] One embodiment of the invention can, for example, provide for the transverse transport means to have a supply line and a coupling for supplying the transverse transport means with supply media and / or electrical power when coupled. The possibility of supplying the transverse transport means with supply media and / or electrical power via one or more couplings ensures that, while simultaneously maintaining very high mobility of the clamping frames within the processing arrangement, the tools arranged on the clamping frames can be made ready for use in a time-saving manner.

[0020] One embodiment of the invention can, for example, provide that the transverse transport means has a supply line and a coupling for supplying the clamping frame with supply media and / or electrical current in the coupled state.

[0021] In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the parallel transport means is designed as a pushing and / or pulling unit, and the pushing and / or pulling unit is designed to establish an engagement connection with the clamping frame. The parallel transport means can thereby move toward a clamping frame that is movable in a direction parallel to the conveying direction of the production line, engage with it, and then move the clamping frame along, for example, a rail. The movement can be achieved by either pushing or pulling. After reaching a specific position, the previously established engagement connection can then be released.

[0022] In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the clamping frame changing system can be provided with a rail system. The clamping frame is arranged so that it can move along the rail system.

[0023] In one embodiment, the described rail system can be designed such that the rail system has a parallel rail arrangement on which the clamping frame can be moved. The parallel rail arrangement can in turn be arranged on a transverse rail arrangement or engaging in a transverse rail arrangement. The complete parallel rail arrangement can thereby be moved in a transverse direction. In an embodiment in which a number of parallel rail arrangements are arranged one behind the other in a direction parallel to the conveying direction, the arrangement of the parallel rail arrangement can bring about a mobility of the clamping frame, which can take place across the various parallel rail arrangements. One or more of these parallel rail arrangements can in turn be arranged so as to be transversely movable on a cross rail arrangement, so that, for example, a kind of matrix of the possible locations to which the clamping frame can be moved is formed.

[0024] In particular, the cross rail arrangement can be designed such that the parallel rail arrangement engaging in the cross rail arrangement can be moved between the transfer position and the receiving position.

[0025] In particular, it can be provided that the cross rail arrangement has an extension which points at least from the production line to the receiving position.

[0026] In a special advantageous embodiment, it can be provided that the parallel rail arrangement is completely introduced into the clamping frame magazine, including a clamping frame located on the parallel rail arrangement, and that the parallel rail arrangement, including the clamping frame, is brought into closed circulation by means of a movement.

[0027] The described embodiment is improved in a further advantageous refinement in which the cross-rail arrangement extends transversely along at least a portion of the clamping frame magazine, and a portion of the cross-rail arrangement provides a portion of the circulation of the circulation movement. In this embodiment, the cross-rail arrangement extends into the circulation, which is a component of the clamping frame magazine. This achieves a particularly space-efficient design of the clamping frame magazine and the clamping frame changing system.

[0028] In a further advantageous embodiment of the processing arrangement, it can be provided, for example, that the rail system is designed as a suspended rail section. It can also be provided, for example, that the rail system is designed as a floor-guided rail section. It can also be provided, for example, that the rail system has a floor-guided rail section and / or a suspended rail section. In particular, sections can also be provided in which both floor and suspended rail guides are provided, which results in a particularly robust mobility option.

[0029] According to a further, independent aspect of the invention, a method for machining assembly parts of an assembly at a machining station of a production line is proposed. The method comprises the following steps: - Moving a clamping frame located in a clamping frame magazine to a receiving position of the clamping frame magazine by causing a circular movement of a number of clamping frames along a closed circuit, - Moving the clamping frame from the pick-up position to a transfer position on the production line, - Moving the clamping frame from the transfer position to a pre-position, - Moving the clamping frame from the pre-position to the processing station.

[0030] In a further development of the method, for example, it can be provided that - the clamping frame is moved from the receiving position to the transfer position in a direction perpendicular to a production line direction, - the clamping frame is moved from the transfer position to the pre-position in a direction parallel to the production line direction and / or - the clamping frame is moved from the pre-position to the processing station in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the production line.

[0031] In one embodiment of the method, for example, it can be provided that the circulating movement of the number of clamping frames takes place with a constant orientation of a clamping frame plane relative to the production line direction. This results in the particular advantage that the circulating movement takes place without rotational movement of the clamping frames about the vertical direction, thus resulting in the advantages already explained above of a smaller space requirement for the clamping frame magazine.

[0032] In one embodiment of the method, for example, it can be provided that, for exchanging a clamping frame in the processing station, a first parallel transport means is coupled to the clamping frame located in the pre-position. This frame can then be moved from the pre-position to a first transfer position. At the same time, a second parallel transport means can be used to move a second clamping frame from a second transfer position to the pre-position if the second transfer position and the first transfer position are located on different upstream and downstream sides of the processing station, respectively. The first clamping frame, which is then located in the first transfer position, can then be moved to a first receiving position by means of a first storage transport means. If desired, a clamping frame located in a second receiving position of the storage magazine can also be moved to the second transfer position simultaneously by means of a second storage transport means. In such a configuration of the method, the clamping frame changing system enables the clamping frame to be changed in such a way that the productive cycle time remains optimally long, regardless of a clamping frame change, for example, in every cycle.

[0033] In a further embodiment of the method, it can be provided that the clamping frame changing system has a first transfer position and a second transfer position, wherein the first transfer position is arranged upstream of the processing position in the production line direction, and the second transfer position is arranged downstream of the processing position in the production line direction. Furthermore, it can be provided that the clamping frame magazine has a first receiving position and a second receiving position, wherein the clamping frames of the plurality of clamping carriages can be moved in both directions between the first receiving position and the first transfer position, and between the second receiving position and the second transfer position.

[0034] The procedure may provide that - a first clamping frame is moved from the first receiving position via the first transfer position to the pre-position and a second clamping carriage is moved from the pre-position via the second transfer position to the second receiving position or - the first clamping frame is moved from the second receiving position via the second transfer position to the pre-position and the second clamping carriage is moved from the pre-position via the first transfer position to the first receiving position.

[0035] The advantage of such a method is that, as required, a clamping frame can be fed from the clamping frame magazine in a direction parallel to the production line direction or counter to the production line direction. This allows the positioning of a required clamping frame to be optimized, for example, depending on its position in the clamping frame magazine.

[0036] A further, independent idea of the invention provides for the use of a processing station designed as a production line for the manufacture of a motor vehicle.

[0037] In the following, specific embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the figures. The figures and the accompanying description of the resulting features are not to be interpreted as limiting the respective embodiments, but serve to illustrate exemplary embodiments. Furthermore, the respective features can be used with each other and with features of the above description for a possible further development and improvement of the invention, especially in additional embodiments not shown.

[0038] The figures show: Fig. 1: a schematic overview of a machining arrangement in plan view; Fig. 2: a wing of a processing arrangement, comprising a clamping frame magazine and a clamping frame changing system in a first exemplary embodiment; Fig. 3 a) Production line of the processing arrangement of the Fig. 2 in a side view, b) Production line and clamping frame magazine of the Fig. 2 in a front view, c) Production line and clamping frame magazine of the Fig. 2 in a rear view; Fig. 4: A wing of a production line with a clamping frame magazine arranged on the production line in an isometric view; Fig. 5: enlarged section of Fig. 4 according to section A.

[0039] Fig. 1 shows a schematic plan view of an embodiment of a processing arrangement 1 for processing components of an assembly. The processing arrangement 1 has a production line 2, which is designed to transport vehicle bodies along the production line 2 by means of a conveyor system. The vehicle bodies represent an assembly, wherein components of the assembly are processed at a processing station 16. The processing at the processing station 16 is carried out by means of robots 9, which in the embodiment shown are arranged on both sides of the production line. Side parts of the body, which represent components, are movable by means of clamping frames 3 from a clamping frame magazine 4 to the processing station 16. Fig. The processes provided for this purpose, schematically illustrated in Figure 1, are briefly described below. In the embodiment shown, each of the two clamping frame magazines 4 shown has a number of six positions for receiving a clamping frame 3. A clamping frame 3, which is provided for delivery to the processing station 16, is conveyed along a closed circuit (see arrow P) in a circular movement to a replacement station 10. The replacement station 10 can be reached by a storage transport means 7, 8. The storage transport means 7, 8 is arranged to be movable between the receiving position 10 and the transfer position 6 in a direction oriented transversely to a conveying direction of the production line 2.The storage transport means 7, 8 is designed, for example, as a so-called Y-carriage, which is movably arranged on a cross-rail arrangement 15, into which a parallel rail arrangement 14 is arranged so as to engage. The parallel rail arrangement 14 of the storage transport means 8 forms, by arranging various cross-transport means one behind the other in a direction parallel to the conveying direction of the production line, a sequence of interleaved longitudinal rails in which the clamping frame can then be moved along the production line or in a direction parallel to the production line direction. Due to this design, when the storage transport means 7, 8 is positioned at the transfer position 6, 7, the clamping frame 3 can be moved in a direction parallel to the conveying direction of the production line. For transport in such a direction, the parallel transport means 5 is provided, which can be designed, for example, as a so-called x-Lok. For the clamping frame movement, a parallel transport means 5 designed as an x-Lok is coupled to the clamping frame 3, which is then transported from the transfer position to a pre-position 17. Before this pre-position 17, the clamping frame 3 is transported from the pre-position 17 to the processing station 16 for the subsequent processing of the assembly part. To enable the movement of the clamping frame from the pre-position 17 to the processing station 16, an expedient embodiment of the invention provides that the rail arrangement positioned at the processing station 16 enables the clamping frame 3 to be moved towards the processing station. This is made possible by the fact that the rail arrangement of the processing station 16 is itself arranged on a transverse transport means 11, also referred to as a Y-carriage, designed as a unit that can be moved transversely to the rail arrangement. The clamping frame 3 is arranged in a suitable manner on the rail arrangement and can thus be transported from the pre-position to the processing station, as well as in the opposite direction.

[0040] In the illustrated embodiment, a comparable procedure is functional both mirrored in the conveying direction of the production line 2 and axially symmetrical with respect to a line within the processing station that is transverse to the conveying direction of the production line 2. The symmetry provided for this embodiment ensures that a clamping frame 3 previously located in the clamping frame magazine 4 can be moved into a pre-position 17 simultaneously with the removal of another clamping frame 3 previously located in the pre-position 17. Thus, when a clamping frame 3 is moved into the clamping frame magazine 4 into the transfer position 6, a clamping frame 3 can be moved out of the transfer position 7 into the clamping frame magazine largely simultaneously.

[0041] Fig. Figure 2 shows a half-side view of a structural design of a part of a processing arrangement 1 according to the invention, wherein the illustrated part comprises a clamping frame magazine 4. On the other side of the conveying direction of the production line 2, a clamping frame magazine 4 can also be expediently arranged, for example, a clamping frame magazine 4 which is designed similarly or identically to the other clamping frame magazine 4 present in the illustrated design. Fig. 2, it can be seen in particular that both receiving positions 10A and 10B of the clamping frame magazine 4 are unoccupied. A clamping frame 3, designated here as 3', has been transported from the receiving position 10A to the transfer position 6 by means of a storage transport means 8. The storage transport means 8 is designed with a coupling which can be docked onto the clamping frame 3 and then transports the clamping frame from the receiving position 10A via the cross rail arrangement 15 to the transfer position 6. Upon reaching the transfer position, the clamping frame can be moved to a pre-position and can then be moved from the pre-position to the processing station 16 on the cross transport means 15, designed as a Y-travel carriage, on which it is located. Once they have arrived at the processing station 16, the robots 9 can begin processing, for example welding, the assembly part located in the clamping frame, for example a body side panel. At the same time, a previously located in the processing station, in the representation of the . Fig. 2 not shown, clamping frame 3, to which in the embodiment shown still free receiving position 10B are moved. The illustrated arrangement has the advantage that moving out of the magazine starting from the receiving position 10A and moving into the clamping frame magazine to the clamping frame magazine 10B can take place largely simultaneously, so that a cycle time-neutral change is achieved.

[0042] Fig. 3 is a side view of the production line (a)), a front view and a rear view (b) and c)) of the Fig. 2. In particular, parts b) and c) of the figure show how the parallel rail arrangement 14, on which the clamping frame 3 is arranged, is designed to engage with the cross rail arrangement 15 and is movable along the cross rail arrangement 15. It can also be seen how the storage transport means 8 is designed to engage with the parallel transport means 5 for conveying the parallel transport means 5 along the cross rail arrangement 11.

[0043] Fig. 4 is a transverse view of the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, wherein, in addition to the features already described, it is particularly clearly visible how the parallel rail arrangement 14, which is made movable on the cross rail arrangement 15, is a component of the rail system 13.
