Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a mounting frame element for covering a reveal surface of a wall opening.
[0002] In both new and existing buildings, it is often necessary to provide openings in a wall or wall penetrations through which pipes, cables, or tubes can be routed. Particularly in drywall walls constructed using a stud construction clad on one or both sides with wallboard, the reveal surfaces of the opening created in the drywall must be covered to create a frame for the opening, which can then be filled. Fire barriers are typically installed for this purpose.
[0003] In order to comply with fire protection regulations, buildings often require walls that meet the specified fire resistance requirements and are predominantly made of non-combustible material and can withstand a standardized fire for a specified period of time according to the respective fire resistance class. To enable cable and line penetration in a fire-resistant wall, a suitable fire protection barrier must be installed. To install a fire protection barrier, it is usually necessary to cover the reveal areas of a wall opening with suitable panels that are sufficiently fire-resistant before the opening is then filled and sealed with mineral wool or another suitable material. Various designs of fire protection barriers approved by the building authorities are known from practice.
[0004] For example, prefabricated frames can be used, but these do not allow adaptation to different wall openings and therefore do not allow the wall opening to be adapted to the respective requirements for the passage of cables, lines and pipe installations.
[0005] In practice, prefabricated frames are not usually used; instead, the reveal areas are covered with hand-cut or sawn battens or panels made of non-combustible materials, which, as an integral part of the wall structure, also meet the fire resistance requirements of the corresponding wall. However, precisely adapting the panel size to the respective reveal area is labor-intensive and time-consuming, so that the individual cuts do not always completely cover the reveal areas in question or are poorly executed for other reasons. If the reveal areas are not covered sufficiently carefully and the corners of the opening are not completely sealed, compliance with legal regulations and specific requirements cannot always be guaranteed.During a fire safety inspection and building acceptance, improperly installed fire protection bulkheads must be criticized and subsequently reworked or improved at great expense, resulting in delays and considerable additional costs.
[0006] Document DE 35 00 683 C1 describes a scaffold for window openings featuring a two-part, trough-shaped platform. This platform can be adjusted to the width of the window and inserted into the window opening to perform installation or repair work on high-level window openings.
[0007] From DE 196 53 232 A1 a device for adjusting door frames to be inserted into wall recesses is known, which has an approximately rectangular frame made of vertical and horizontal profiles as well as elements for fixing the frame to the respective wall or floor and elements for adjusting and / or holding the door frame in the desired position.
[0008] DE 20 2009 017 870 U1 describes roller shutter-window combination elements with a curtain for sun and / or insect protection, which runs in at least one guide rail with a guide rail end cap. The guide rail end cap is an adjustable extension of the rail and can be telescoped within it, allowing the curtain to be lowered.
[0009] A fire-resistant penetration seal for passing cables through a wall opening is known from DE 38 03 585 A1. This penetration seal comprises an insertable enclosing body with a continuous receiving channel, which is designed as a metal-containing seal. By weakening the cross-section of the metal layer, heat propagation toward the penetration is reduced.
[0010] DE 103 18 119 A1 concerns a system wall that can be clad on both sides with drywall panels and is constructed from prefabricated mounting frames. These are constructed from interconnected, open special profiles with integrated openings and ribs.
[0011] It is therefore considered an object of the present invention to design a mounting frame element in such a way that an adaptation of the mounting frame element to the reveal surface is possible with a reduced expenditure of work and time.
[0012] This object is achieved according to the invention in that the installation frame element has a base plate and an extension plate mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable relative to the base plate, so that by displacing the extension plate relative to the base plate, a length of a covering surface of the installation frame element formed by the base plate and the extension plate can be adapted to a length of the reveal surface.
[0013] In order to facilitate the mechanical reinforcement of the wall opening subsequently introduced into the wall along the surrounding reveal surfaces, which is particularly necessary in drywall construction, the invention provides that the installation frame element has a fixing element on the extension panel surface that protrudes from the extension panel surface. The fixing element is inserted into a usually slot-like cavity in the adjacent wall area in order to improve or facilitate the mechanically stable fixing of the extension panel resting on the reveal surface. The fixing element can be secured in the adjacent wall area with additional fastening means, for example, screws or nails.
[0014] The installation frame element according to the invention makes it very easy to completely cover the reveal area, significantly reducing the labor and time required for reliably covering the reveal areas. The width of the installation frame element can be adapted to the often standardized or already known width of the reveal area, and the length of the installation frame element can be adjusted on-site to the length of the reveal area to be covered by simply sliding or pulling out the extension plate. Various installation frame elements with different widths can be prefabricated and kept in stock to cover typical wall thicknesses of, for example, 10 cm, 12.5 cm, or 18 cm, as required.
[0015] The length of the installation frame element according to the invention can be varied between a minimum value corresponding to the length of the base plate and a maximum value approximately corresponding to the combined length of the base plate and the extension plate. Thus, with the installation frame element according to the invention, various reveal areas of varying lengths can be covered without incurring additional labor and time expenditure. The installation frame elements can, for example, have base plates with a length of 25 cm, 40 cm, or 55 cm in order to cover the reveal areas of wall openings with any side length between 25 cm and 100 cm. The installation frame elements or the base plates can have any dimensions, so that all conceivable reveal areas that occur in practice can be covered with such an installation frame element.
[0016] A covering surface of the installation frame element is variable according to the invention and is formed by a base plate surface facing the reveal surface and an extension plate surface facing the reveal surface, wherein the base plate surface and the extension plate surface are not arranged in alignment with one another due to the extension plate being mounted on the base plate in a longitudinally displaceable manner.
[0017] To prevent possible tilting of the installation frame element arranged on the reveal surface, it is advantageously provided that the installation frame element has a support unit fixed to the base plate. In this case, a support surface of the support unit facing the reveal surface and the extension plate surface of the extension plate facing the reveal surface are expediently arranged in alignment with each other and, in the case of an installation frame element attached to the reveal, both rest against the reveal surface, thus preventing tilting of the installation frame element.
[0018] The support unit can, for example, be made of the same material as the extension plate and be secured to the base plate. It can also be provided that the support unit and the extension plate together have a length corresponding to the length of the base plate, so that the length of the mounting frame element, when joined together, corresponds to the length of the base plate. The support unit is expediently arranged at a first end of the base plate, while the extension plate can be extended at an opposite second end of the base plate, so that the support unit and the extended extension plate, with the support surface and the extension plate surface arranged in alignment with one another, jointly support the base plate without tilting.
[0019] Advantageously, the installation frame element comprises a U-shaped fixing profile that can encompass an edge area of the wall opening. The installation frame element can be placed on the reveal surface of the wall opening with such a fixing profile and secured to the edge of the wall opening with the profile legs overlapping the adjacent wall areas. The width of the fixing profile can correspond to the depth of the wall opening or the wall thickness, thus enabling a sufficiently secure connection of the installation frame element to the area around the wall opening.
[0020] The base plate, together with two lateral profile leg plates, can form a U-shaped fixing profile. The base plate and the profile leg plates can be made of the same material and connected to each other in a suitable manner or secured together with a suitable fastening device, for example, glued, screwed, or nailed together.
[0021] It is also possible for the installation frame element to have a separately manufactured fixing profile, for example, a hot-dip galvanized sheet steel profile, and for the base plate to be fixed to the fixing profile. The fixing profile can also have a metal profile, in which the outer sides of the fixing profile legs, accessible from the outside after proper installation, are additionally covered with a fire-resistant covering material. The covering material can be the same material from which the extension plate and the base plate are made.
[0022] The extension plate can also be arranged and guided in the fixing profile, allowing it to be longitudinally displaced relative to the base plate. This allows both the base plate and the extension plate to be positioned on the reveal surface using the fixing profile, thus securing the installation frame element to the wall opening.
[0023] The fixing profile can be connected to the area around the wall opening, for example, by means of an adhesive connection. Alternatively, the fixing profile can advantageously have several fixing holes or spaced holes and be fixed to the area around the wall opening using suitable fixing means, such as nails or screws. The dimensions of the fixing profile are expediently adapted to the thickness of the wall areas adjacent to the wall opening, so that leg sections of the fixing profile rest laterally against the respective outer surfaces of the adjacent wall areas and overlap them, allowing the fixing profile to be easily fixed to these overlapped wall areas.
[0024] Advantageously, the installation frame element can have a guide unit in order to be able to move the extension plate longitudinally on the base plate. The guide unit can be designed, for example, in the form of a tongue and groove connection, wherein a first part of the guide unit can be arranged on the base plate and a second part of the guide unit can be arranged on the extension plate. Alternatively, the first part of the guide unit can be arranged on the fixing profile and the second part of the guide unit can be arranged on the extension plate, and the extension plate can thus be moved along the base plate. Particularly in the case of a fixing profile made of metal, it can be expedient to provide one or more inwardly projecting beads which extend in the longitudinal direction of movement of the extension plate and form a guide for the extendable extension plate.
[0025] Since both the base plate and the extension plate can be arranged in the fixing profile, the guide unit can be formed by the fixing profile itself. The extension plate can be arranged loosely in the fixing profile and moved longitudinally relative to the base plate. The base plate surface facing the reveal surface and the reveal surface itself then limit the movement of the extension plate in a first direction, and flanges of the U-shaped fixing profile limit the movement in a second direction. Advantageously, a width of the base plate and a width of the extension plate can correspond to the distance between the profile legs of the fixing profile, so that rotation of the base plate and the extension plate relative to one another can be additionally prevented when the extension plate is moved along the base plate.
[0026] In order to temporarily secure the extension plate to the base plate, for example, for transport or storage until its intended use, the mounting frame element can advantageously include a locking unit. The locking unit prevents, in particular, the extension plate from shifting relative to the base plate during transport, which could damage the mounting frame element. During assembly of the mounting frame element, the locking unit can then be detached from the mounting frame element, and the extension plate can be pulled out or relocated.
[0027] The fixing unit can be designed, for example, in the form of a clamp that encompasses the base plate and the extension plate, or in the form of a temporary adhesive or screw connection. The fixing unit can prevent damage to the mounting frame element and facilitate installation.
[0028] To ensure the installation frame element complies with the specified regulations and requirements, the base plate and / or the extension plate and / or the support unit can be made of a non-combustible material. The non-combustible material is preferably a material whose fire protection effect, as part of an overall construction consisting of the wall and the fire barrier created with the installation frame element, is maintained for a specified period in the event of a fire. For example, the base plate and the extension plate could be made of calcium silicate boards, plasterboard fire protection boards, or similar materials.
[0029] To improve the fire-retardant properties of the installation frame element, the base plate and / or the extension plate and / or the support unit can have a sealing layer made of a fire-reactive material, such as an intumescent material, applied to the cover surface. In the event of a fire, the intumescent material expands, closing the small gaps caused by tolerances between the installation frame element and the reveal surface. The intumescent material can also close the gap between the base plate surface facing the reveal surface and the reveal surface, enabling compliance with legal requirements.
[0030] It is also possible, instead of a sealing layer made of a material that is reactive in the event of fire and, for example, intumescent, to fill the gaps and joints between the reveal surfaces and the installation frame elements with a suitable filling material such as gypsum material or panel adhesive, and thereby achieve or ensure the required fire resistance.
[0031] The fire resistance required in each individual case is not only determined by the installation frame elements and their connection to the adjacent reveal surfaces, but rather by the overall construction, which is formed by the opening and the reveal surfaces in the wall, by the installation frame elements and their fastening and sealing to the reveal surfaces and by the suitable filling of the interior of the wall opening surrounded by the installation frame elements.
[0032] According to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, the fixing element has a U-profile whose fixing element profile legs protrude from the extension panel surface. In a drywall wall, the dimensions of the U-profile can be designed such that the fixing element profile legs on both sides rest against the inside of a wall panel of the drywall, so that the U-profile bridges a gap between the two wall panels. From both sides of the wall, the U-profile can be fixed to the respective wall panel with the fixing element profile leg assigned to the respective wall panel, for example using screws, nails, or locking or clamping elements that engage in recesses in the fixing element profile legs.
[0033] Preferably, a filler element is arranged between the fixing element profile legs, which fills the gap formed between the fixing element profile legs. The filler element is advantageously made of a non-combustible material and is also suitable for providing a secure hold for fasteners such as screws or nails that penetrate from the outside through the adjacent wall panels and the fixing element profile legs into the filler element.
[0034] According to the invention, in a rectangular wall opening with four reveal areas, all four reveal areas can be covered with one installation frame element according to the invention. The four installation frame elements form a circumferential installation frame that surrounds the wall opening on all sides and covers all reveal areas created by the wall opening, allowing a fire barrier to be created in compliance with regulations with minimal installation effort.
[0035] In order to further reinforce the installation frame and improve its strength, the invention provides that two adjacent installation frame elements are connected to one another with an angle element. The angle element can, for example, be a separate metal angle or a fastening tab protruding at an angle, which is attached to the two adjacent installation frame elements and firmly or permanently connects the two installation frame elements at the predetermined angle, usually an angle of approximately 90°. The angle element can be subsequently attached first to a first installation frame element and, after the first installation frame element has been attached to a first reveal surface and the adjacent second installation frame element has been arranged on the second reveal surface, can be connected to the second installation frame element. For example, the angle element is first attached to an end of a mounting frame element opposite the extension plate, or is already arranged there or pre-determined. It is also possible for the angle element to be arranged at an end of the extension plate facing away from the base plate.
[0036] The angle element can be made of the same material as the base plate or extension plate and can be a mounting tab extending perpendicularly to the base plate or extension plate. The mounting tab can be attached to the designated end in advance or during the fabrication of the mounting frame element to facilitate on-site installation.
[0037] According to one embodiment of the inventive concept, two mounting frame elements are connected to each other at right angles to each other, or, for example, pivotably connected to each other, so that two mounting frame angle elements formed in this way, which have extendable extension plates at both ends, can cover all four reveal surfaces of a rectangular wall opening. This further reduces the installation effort.
[0038] The invention also relates to a wall with a wall opening having at least one reveal surface covered by a mounting frame element according to the invention. The mounting frame element is placed on the reveal surface in such a way that the base plate, optionally with the support unit, and the extension plate form a covering surface that completely covers the reveal surface.
[0039] Advantageously, the installation frame element comprises a U-shaped fixing profile that overlaps a wall area adjacent to the wall opening on both outer sides of the wall and rests flush against the outer sides of the wall. The fixing profile is secured to the adjacent wall area in the overlapping areas on the outer sides of the wall, for example, with screws or nails.
[0040] The installation frame element according to the invention is particularly suitable for use in drywall walls consisting of two spaced-apart wall panels, between which there is a cavity usually filled with insulating material. The U-shaped fixing profile, which is arranged in the area of the base panel, can engage around the two wall panels on their outer sides in a wall area adjacent to the wall opening. A fixing element protruding from the extension panel surface is provided on the extendable extension panel. This fixing element is adapted to the dimensions of the cavity between the two wall panels and preferably projects into the cavity in such a way that the fixing element rests against the inner surfaces of the two wall panels facing the cavity. With a U-shaped fixing element filled with filler material, the fixing element profile legs rest against the inner surfaces of the two wall panels, while the filler material completely fills the remaining cavity. The installation frame elements arranged on all reveal surfaces thus form a frame-shaped, mechanically stable, and highly resilient reinforcement of the wall areas adjacent to the wall opening.
[0041] The stability of the installation frame composed of several installation frame elements can be further increased by using separate fastening elements such as screws or nails in an overlapping area of the base plate with the extension plate to connect the externally arranged fixing profile with the fixing element protruding from the extension plate surface and thereby provide additional fixing of the base plate to the extension plate.
[0042] Further advantageous embodiments of the installation frame element according to the invention are explained in more detail with reference to embodiments shown in the drawing.
[0043] It shows: Fig. 1 a side view of a mounting frame element according to the invention; Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 side views of the Fig. 1 shown mounting frame element in section; Fig. 4 a front view of the Fig. 1 shown mounting frame element in section; Fig. 5 a side view of a mounting frame element arranged on a reveal surface; Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 side views of the Fig. 5 shown mounting frame element in section; Fig. 8 a front view of the Fig. 5 shown mounting frame element in section; Fig. 9 and Fig. 10 side views of mounting frame elements according to the invention arranged on a wall opening; Fig. 11 a front view of a differently designed mounting frame element, Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 each a side view of the installation frame element arranged on a reveal surface according to Fig. 11, where Fig. 12 after a first work step, an extension plate of the installation frame element is attached to the reveal surface and in Fig. 13 After a further work step, the complete installation frame element is attached to the reveal surface, Fig. 14 a front view of a differently designed mounting frame element, and Fig. 15 a sectional view analogous to Fig. 8, where the Fig. 14 shown installation frame element is placed on a reveal surface of a drywall. Fig. 1 to Fig. 4 show various schematic views of a mounting frame element 1 according to the invention, wherein the mounting frame element 1 is illustrated such that it could be fastened from below to an upper reveal surface of a wall opening (not shown in these figures). The mounting frame element 1 has a base plate 2 and an extension plate 3, wherein the extension plate 3 is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable relative to the base plate 2. By displacing the extension plate 3 relative to the base plate 2, the length of a cover surface 4 of the mounting frame element 1 formed by the base plate 2 and the extension plate 3 can be adjusted, thereby significantly reducing the labor and time required for assembling the mounting frame element 1.
[0044] The base plate 2 and the extension plate 3 are arranged in a U-shaped fixing profile 5 with several fixing openings 6, which forms a guide unit 7 for the extension plate 3. The extension plate 3 is loosely arranged in the fixing profile 5 and can be displaced longitudinally relative to the base plate 2, as shown in Fig. 2. The base plate 2, on the other hand, is fixed to a web 8 of the fixing profile 5, for example by an adhesive connection.
[0045] Advantageously, a width of the base plate 2 and a width of the extension plate 3 correspond to the width of the web 8 of the fixing profile 5, so that the displacement of the extension plate 3 is limited by profile legs 9 of the fixing profile 5 and a rotation of the extension plate 3 relative to the base plate 2 can be advantageously prevented.
[0046] The length of the mounting frame element 1 according to the invention can be between a minimum value corresponding to the length of the base plate 2, as in Fig. 2, and a maximum value approximately corresponding to the combined length of the base plate 2 and the extension plate 3, as shown in Fig. 3. Thus, any reveal area varying in length can be covered with the installation frame element 1 according to the invention without requiring additional labor and time.
[0047] A base plate surface 10 and an extension plate surface 11 are not aligned with each other due to the extension plate 3 being mounted longitudinally displaceably on the base plate 2. To prevent any possible tilting of the installation frame element 1, the installation frame element 1 has a support unit 12 fixed to the base plate 2 with a support surface 13 arranged in alignment with the extension plate surface 11. At an end of the installation frame element 1 facing away from the extension plate 3, the support unit 12 does not reach as far as an end face of the base plate 2, so that a distance exists between an end face of the support unit 12 and the end face of the base plate 2, and a free space is formed. It has been shown that in practice, the edges and in particular the corners of a wall opening do not always run at right angles and in a straight line.Due to the free space next to the support unit 12, the installation frame element 1 can be placed on the reveal surface even in the case of sloping or irregularly running edges and corners and can be arranged laterally adjacent or sealingly so that no larger gap remains between the base plate 2 and the laterally adjacent wall opening edge and a professional fire protection partition can be produced without additional effort.
[0048] The support unit 12 is made of the same material as the extension plate 3 and is fixed to the base plate 2, for example, by an adhesive connection. The combined length of the support unit 12 and the extension plate 3 corresponds to the length of the base plate 2 and the length of the fixing profile 5, as shown in Fig. 2. This prevents damage to the base plate 2 and the extension plate 3 during transport of the installation frame element 1.
[0049] To prevent unwanted displacement of the extension plate 3 relative to the base plate 2 during transport and assembly, the mounting frame element 1 has a fixing unit 14. During assembly of the mounting frame element 1, the fixing unit 14 can then be easily detached from the mounting frame element 1 and the extension plate 3 can be displaced relative to the base plate 2.
[0050] The base plate 2, the extension plate 3, and the support unit 12 are made of a non-combustible material whose functionality is maintained even in the event of a fire for a period prescribed by legal standards. To improve the fire resistance of the installation frame element 1, the base plate 2 on the base plate surface 10, the extension plate 3 on the extension plate surface 11, and the support unit 12 on the support surface 13, as well as on an end face facing away from the extension plate 3, each have a sealing layer 15 made of a material that is reactive in the event of a fire, for example, an intumescent material that intumescents and expands in the event of a fire.
[0051] Fig. 5 to Fig. 8 show schematic views of the installation frame element 1 arranged on a reveal surface 16 of a wall opening 17. The fixing profile 5 encompasses an area 18 around the wall opening 17 and is fixed to the area 18 by fixing means 19. The width of the web 8 of the fixing profile 5 corresponds to the depth of the wall opening 17, thus enabling a sufficiently strong connection of the installation frame element 1 to the area 18 around the wall opening 17.
[0052] During installation, the installation frame element 1 can first be applied to the reveal surface 16, and then the length of the installation frame element 1 can be adjusted to the length of the reveal surface 16 to be covered. The installation frame element 1 can then be secured and fixed to the reveal surface 16 with the extension plate 3 laterally displaced or pulled out. The installation frame element 1 according to the invention enables complete covering of the reveal surface 16, and the labor and time required are advantageously reduced.
[0053] The base plate surface 10 and the reveal surface 16 limit the movement of the extension plate 3 in a first direction and the profile legs 9 of the U-shaped fixing profile 5 in a second direction, whereby a twisting of the extension plate 3 during displacement along the base plate 2 is advantageously prevented without additional means.
[0054] The base plate 2, the extension plate 3 and the support unit 12 are made of a fire-resistant material and the sealing layer 15 on the base plate surface 10, on the extension plate surface 11 and on the support surface 13, which reactive in the event of fire and which consists for example of an intumescent material, further improves the fire-resistant properties of the installation frame element 1. Due to the intumescent material, the distance between the base plate surface 10, the extension plate surface 11 and the support surface 13 and the reveal surface 16 can be closed in the event of fire and thus the legal regulations can be complied with.
[0055] In Fig. 9 and Fig. 10 shows side views of the mounting frame elements 1 according to the invention arranged on the wall opening 17. The mounting frame elements 1 can either each have the same orientation on the respective reveal surface 16, as is shown by way of example in Fig. 9, or base plates 2 facing each other in pairs, which adjoin each other in a corner of the wall opening 17, can be arranged in the wall opening 17, as shown by way of example in Fig. 10. In order to further reduce the transport, storage and assembly costs, two installation frame elements 1 can also be pivotably, latchably or positively connected to one another at their ends facing away from the extension plate 3 and form a installation frame corner element which has two base plates 2 projecting at right angles and extension plates 3 which can be moved in extension of the base plates 2.
[0056] By means of the installation frame elements 1 according to the invention, the reveal surfaces 16 can be covered with reduced expenditure of work and time and the legal regulations for sealing can also be complied with.
[0057] In the Fig. 11, Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 shows, by way of example, a differently designed and particularly cost-effectively manufactured installation frame element 1 and its installation on the reveal surface 16. The installation frame element 1 has two profile leg plates 20, which are attached laterally to the base plate 2 with nails 21, so that the two profile leg plates 20 and the base plate 2 form the U-shaped fixing profile 5 directed towards the reveal surface 16, and the installation frame element 1 with the fixing profile 5 can be placed, for example, on an edge area of a drywall adjacent to the wall opening 17. Instead of the nails 21, other suitable fastening means such as screws or adhesives can also be used.
[0058] The two profile leg plates 20 protrude beyond the base plate 2 at an end opposite the fixing profile 5. The two projecting end regions 22 of the profile leg plates 20 form a further U-shaped receiving profile 23 for receiving, for example, a plate-shaped filling material with which the wall opening 17 is filled and closed.
[0059] For rapid installation of the thus configured installation frame element 1 on the reveal surface 16, the extension plate 3, which is initially attached loosely or only with quick-release fasteners to the base plate 2, is detached from the base plate 2 and placed on the reveal surface 16, with one end face of the extension plate 3 resting against a side wall of the wall opening 17 adjacent to the reveal surface 16. The extension plate 3 is fastened and fixed in this position with nails 21 or other suitable fastening means, such as an adhesive.
[0060] Subsequently, the base plate 2, with the laterally connected profile leg plates 20, is placed on the reveal surface 16 laterally offset from the extension plate 3, so that the reveal surface 16 is completely covered by the extension plate 3 and the base plate 2. The base plate 2 is then also fixed and secured to the reveal surface 16. The end regions 22 of the profile leg plates 20, which face inward into the wall opening 17, form a receiving profile 23 extending partially over the reveal surface 16 and serves to align and secure the filling material, for example, mineral wool, in the wall opening 17.
[0061] The width of the base plate 2 and the dimensions of the profile leg plates 20 can be adapted to the dimensions of known drywall systems. Various prefabricated variants can be provided, each specifically adapted to the different wall thicknesses of the various drywall systems.
[0062] It may also be expedient that during the assembly of the installation frame element 1, strip-shaped edge regions of a wall paneling are removed and the sections of the profile leg plates 20 forming the fixing profile 5 are inserted into these strip-shaped recesses at the edge of the wall opening 17 in such a way that a frame of the wall opening 17 can be formed which is flush with the adjacent wall surfaces.
[0063] One in the Fig. 14 and Fig. The exemplary embodiment of the mounting frame element 1 shown in Figure 15 has a U-shaped metal fixing element 24, which is arranged and fixed on the extension plate surface 11 of the extension plate 3 in such a way that two fixing element profile legs 25 protrude at right angles from the extension plate surface 11. A filling element 26 made of a non-combustible filling material is arranged between the two fixing element profile legs 25.
[0064] The dimensions of the base plate 2 and the extension plate 3 including the fixing profile 5 encompassing the base plate 2 and the extension plate 3 as well as the fixing element 24 are adapted to the dimensions of a Fig.15. The drywall 27 has two spaced-apart, parallel wall panels 28, between which a cavity 29 is formed, usually filled with an insulating material. The fixing element 24 with the fixing element profile legs 25 projecting at right angles protrudes from the cover surface 16 or the reveal surface 16 into the cavity 29. The two fixing element profile legs 25 rest against an inner side of the respectively assigned wall panel 28. The filling element 26 completely fills the space between the fixing element profile legs 25. The fixing profile 5 arranged on the outside and the fixing element 24 arranged on the inside encompass the two areas of the wall panels 28 adjacent to the wall opening and form a mechanically stable frame construction. In addition, the fixing element (24) as well as the fixing profile (5) can be connected to the adjacent wall panels (28) by separate fastening means (19, 30) and thus mechanically and permanently fixed to the wall opening 17. Additional mechanical reinforcement along the perimeter of the wall opening 17 is generally no longer necessary, thus saving considerable installation effort for the fire protection partition.
