Description

Technical FieldThe present invention relates to an inspection apparatus for inspecting a winding member used for secondary cells and the like, and a winding apparatus including the inspection apparatus.General State of the ArtAs the winding element, an element used for secondary cells such as lithium ion batteries and the like is known. This type of winding element is manufactured by winding a cathode layer coated with a cathode active material and an anode layer coated with an anode active material with a separator layer therebetween serving to isolate the two electrode layers by a rotatable winding core. However, during winding of the layers, winding deviation (position displacement in the layer width direction) sometimes occurs or the coating position of the active material is offset, whereby position deviations in the layer width direction may occur at the formation portion of the winding member. Positional deviations of this kind may cause, for example, short circuits and the like, and the quality of the winding element may be impaired. Therefore, as an inspection device for inspecting the presence of winding deviations, a device has been proposed in which a pickup means (a pickup device) disposed in correspondence with a sheet transport path upstream of the winding core (a rotating shaft) picks up the separator sheet and the electrode sheets through the separator sheet, and performs inspection on winding deviations based on the obtained pickup data (for example, see Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication JP 2009-170 136 A).However, this inspection apparatus only checks for sheet position deviations before winding on the winding core. Therefore, there is a possibility that the quality judgment result of the inspection apparatus and the quality of the winding member actually obtained by winding the sheets do not match. Thus, there is a risk that a precise judgment of the quality of the winding element is not possible. Therefore, an inspection apparatus has been proposed that receives the layers wound on the winding core and judges whether there are winding deviations in the winding member from the received reception (for example, see Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2006-145 298 A, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2016-58 179 A).Summary of the InventionObject of the InventionHowever, it is desirable in such an inspection apparatus to greatly increase the measurement resolution (resolution of images) from the aspect of enhancing the reliability of the inspection. An increase in the measurement resolution, however, causes the imaging depth of the recording means to decrease. When, during the winding of the plies, the plies wound onto the winding core become thicker and the plies to be picked up approach the pickup means, it is difficult to focus the plies, so that there is a risk of an blurred image. On the other hand, a configuration is conceivable in which the layers are focused after winding some layers, but in this case, it is difficult to focus layers immediately after the start of winding, that is, layers to be recorded that are far from the recording means, so that there is a risk of blurred image. Therefore, if the depth of imaging is decreased to increase the measurement resolution, it is not possible to sufficiently take into account the change in the distance between the sheets and the recording means during winding, so that there is a risk that the reliability of the inspection cannot be sufficiently increased. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide an inspection apparatus and a winding apparatus in which the quality of a winding member can be more accurately judged and also the reliability of the inspection can be sufficiently enhanced. This object is achieved by the independent claims. Advantageous refinements are disclosed in the dependent claims.means for achieving the objectMeans for achieving the object will be described in detail below. If required, the respective effects of the agents are also listed.Agent 1An inspection apparatus used in the manufacturing process of a winding member manufactured by winding a band-shaped cathode layer and anode layer coated with an active material and laid one on top of the other with a band-shaped separation layer formed of an insulating material therebetween by a rotatable winding core, characterized by irradiation means having the layers wound on the winding core as an inspection object and irradiating the inspection object with a specific light, recording means recording the inspection object irradiated with light by the irradiation means, quality judgment means judging quality of the inspection object from a recording obtained by the recording means, row recording execution means having the recording means perform row recording of the inspection object in a state in which the layers are wound by the winding core, and focusing means, which determines, among the plurality of images acquired by the series imaging, those in which the imaging means focuses the object to be examined, the winding core having a non-round contour on a cross section orthogonal to its rotation axis and, together with the rotation of the winding core, the distance from the outer circumferential surface of the winding core to the imaging means varies, and the quality evaluation means evaluates the quality of the object to be examined on the basis of the images determined by the focusing means. The "winding on the winding core" means close adhesion to the underlying outer circumferential surface of the winding core without protrusion therefrom.According to Means 1, a recording of the examination object is produced by the recording means with the electrode layers wound onto the winding core and the separating layer as the examination object, and the quality evaluation means evaluates the quality of the examination object on the basis of the recording obtained thereby. That is, the quality judging means performs quality judgment on the actually wound-up examination object. The quality judgment may refer to other points, for example, whether there is a winding deviation of the layers, or also to the position where the electrode layers are coated with active material (active material coated portions), or the position of tabs provided on the electrode layers. Since the quality assessment is made on the actually wound examination object, the quality of the winding element can be assessed more precisely.According to the means 1, the winding core has a non-round contour on a cross section orthogonal to its rotational axis, so that the distance from the outer circumferential surface of the winding core to the receiving means (also referred to briefly below as "distance between the two") varies according to the rotational angle of the winding core. By utilizing this circumstance, even when the thickness (diameter) of the layers wound on the winding core varies when winding the layers, focus images can be obtained with higher reliability by performing row imaging of the inspection object by the imaging means. For example, if the winding of the layers has just started first and the layers wound on the winding core are thin, focus photographs can be obtained if the distance between both is comparatively small. On the other hand, for example, when the winding of the layers has further advanced and the layers wound on the winding core have become thicker, focus images can be obtained when the distance between both is comparatively large. As a result, images with focusing can be obtained more reliably even if the diameter of the layers wound onto the winding core varies, while at the same time the depth of imaging is reduced and the measurement resolution is increased. Thus, although increasing the measurement resolution and increasing the depth of focus (widening the focusing range) are in a competitive relationship, an effect as would be obtained by realizing both at the same time can be obtained. The quality evaluation means evaluates the quality of the examination object on the basis of the recordings with focusing. Therefore, the reliability of the inspection can be sufficiently enhanced. Moreover, according to the means 1, due to the execution of the mere series shooting, it is not necessary to perform complicated shooting control for acquiring the shots with focusing. In this way, the processing effort can be effectively reduced.Means 2An examination apparatus of the means 1, characterized in that the focusing means determines those of the multiple images at which the imaging means focuses the examination object on the basis of the brightness of the images.A comparison of images by the recording means with focusing and without focusing shows a difference in brightness. For example, in focus photographs, brightness is greater, or changes in brightness are more abrupt.By utilizing this circumstance, according to the means 2, those images in which there is a focusing are determined on the basis of the brightness of the images. Thus, images with focusing can be determined more easily.Means 3An examination device of the means 1 or 2, characterized in that the recording means comprises, in addition to the focusing means, also a recording memory for storing the plurality of recordings obtained by means of the series recording and an output means which outputs at least one of the recordings stored in the recording memory and information relating to these recordings to the outer section, wherein the focusing means determines, of the plurality of recordings stored in the recording memory, those at which the recording means focuses the examination object, and the output means outputs, of the plurality of recordings stored in the recording memory, at least one of those recordings for which the focusing means determines that there is a focusing, and information relating to these recordings to the outer section.According to the means 3, the capturing means comprises the focusing means and the capturing memory for storing the plurality of capturings obtained by the series capturing. The focusing means determines those of the plurality of images stored in the image memory in which focusing is present. Therefore, when obtaining images with focusing, data exchange between the capturing means and an outer portion is not necessary, and the obtaining processing can be performed inside the capturing means. Thus, images with focusing can be quickly obtained.According to the means 3, moreover, the output means outputs, out of the plurality of shots stored in the memory, only those in which there is focus and / or information on these shots (for example, a judgment result by the quality judgment means) to the outer portion. Therefore, the amount of data output to the outer portion can be kept relatively small, and therefore, as the output means connecting the output means and the outer portion, a particularly efficient one in terms of processing power or transmission power does not need to be used. Thereby, the images and information can be transmitted from the output means to the outer portion using an ordinary transmission system (for example, an ordinary image transmission technique). In addition, a reduced processing load can be achieved for the receptacle means and the external device to which the receptacles, etc. are input.Means 4An examination apparatus according to one of the means 1 to means 3, characterized in that the receiving means has a specific objective and is designed such that it is movable relative to the winding core along a light axis of the objective.Even if the winding element is large and the variation in the diameter of the wound layers between the start of winding and the end of winding is comparatively large, according to the means 4 by moving the receiving means relative to the winding core more precise focusing of the layers forming the examination object is possible. Therefore, winding elements of different sizes can be inspected with high accuracy.Means 5An examination device according to one of the means 1 to 4, characterized in that the separating layer is transparent or semitransparent and the receiving means is configured such that it receives at least one of the two electrode layers through the separating layer, whereby the two electrode layers and the separating layer are received at once.According to the means 5, the two electrode layers and the separating layer can be accommodated at once. Therefore, with few capturing operations, the captured images required for inspection can be obtained, whereby the inspection efficiency can be increased.Means 6.Winding device, characterised in that it comprises an inspection device according to one of the means 1 to 5.According to the agent 6, substantially the same effects as those of the above-mentioned agents 1, etc. can be obtained.Brief Description of the FiguresThe following are shown: FIG. 1 is a perspective schematic view showing the structure of a battery element; FIG. 2 is a schematic plan view showing the structure of the battery element; FIG. 3 is a simplified structural view of a winding device; FIG. 4 is a simplified structural view of a winding portion; FIG. 5 is a block diagram illustrating the electrical configuration of a camera; FIG. 6 is a flow chart of winding steps; FIG. 7 is a flowchart of a capture inspection processing; FIG. 8 is a flowchart of an examination processing; FIG. 9 is a flowchart showing a capturing, detecting and outputting processing; FIG. 10 shows a graph of example values on the basis of the brightness of individual recordings; FIG. 11 is a schematic view showing an angle of the winding core, etc. when a focus recording is obtained immediately after the winding start of the layers; FIG. 12 is a schematic view showing an angle of the winding core, etc. when a focus pickup is obtained immediately before the winding ends of the sheets; FIG. 13 is a schematic view of a photograph obtained by a camera; FIG. 14 is a simplified structural view of the winding portion at the beginning of winding; and FIG. 15 is a simplified structural view of the winding portion when the separator is cut off.Embodiment of the InventionAn embodiment will be described below with reference to the figures. First, the structure of a lithium ion battery element as the winding element obtained by the winding device will be described. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the lithium ion battery element 1 (hereinafter, "battery element 1" for short) is manufactured by winding a cathode sheet 4 and an anode sheet 5 in a state of sandwiching two separator sheets 2, 3. In the following, the separator layers 2, 3 and the electrode layers 4, 5 are collectively also referred to as "layers 2- 5".The separator layers 2, 3 are each band-shaped and of the same width and are formed of an insulating material such as polypropylene (PP) or the like to prevent the different electrode layers 4, 5 from contacting each other and causing a short circuit. The separating layers 2, 3 are transparent or semitransparent. Therefore, the cathode layer 4 or the anode layer 5 can be seen by the separating layers 2, 3.The electrode layers 4, 5 are thin metal layers, the front and rear sides of which are coated with an active material. As the cathode sheet 4, for example, aluminum foil is used, the front and back sides of which are coated with a cathode active material (for example, lithium manganese oxide particles or the like). As the anode sheet 5, for example, a copper foil is used, the front and back sides of which are coated with an anode active material (for example, activated carbon or the like). The electrode sheets 4, 5 are electrode sheets subjected to continuous coating, and a certain part in the sheet width direction is an active material coated region 4 a, 5 a(stippled positions in FIG. 2 ), while all the remaining is an active material uncoated region 4 b, 5 b. Via the active material-coated regions 4 a, 5 a, ion exchange is possible between the cathode layer 4 and the anode layer 5. More specifically, ions migrate from the cathode layer 4 to the anode layer 5 during charging, while ions migrate from the anode layer 5 to the cathode layer 4 during discharging. In addition, the anode layer 5 is less wide than the separator layers 2, 3, and the cathode layer 4 is less wide than the anode layer 5. Defects related to the cathode layer 4 not being covered by the anode layer 5 (for example, since acicular precipitates have formed on the cathode layer 4 and the separator layers 2, 3 have been damaged, etc.) are thereby suppressed, thereby achieving quality enhancement of the battery element 1.In addition, a plurality of cathode wirings (not shown) extend from one end edge of the cathode sheet 4 in the width direction, and a plurality of anode wirings (not shown) extend from the other end edge of the anode sheet 5 in the width direction. In producing a lithium ion battery, the battery element 1 is placed in a cylindrical metal battery storage container (case) (not shown), and the cathode wirings and anode wirings are respectively gathered. The combined cathode wirings are connected to a cathode contact piece (not shown), and also the combined anode wirings are connected to an anode contact piece (not shown), and the two contact pieces are arranged to close the two end openings of the battery container, thus completing the lithium ion battery.Next, a winding device 10 for manufacturing the battery element 1 will be described. As shown in FIG. 3, the winding apparatus 10 includes a winding portion 11 for winding the sheets 2- 5, a cathode sheet supply mechanism 31 for supplying the cathode sheet 4 to the winding portion 11, an anode sheet supply mechanism 41 for supplying the anode sheet 5 to the winding portion 11, separator sheet supply mechanisms 51, 61 for respectively supplying the separator sheets 2, 3 to the winding portion 11, and a controller 81 serving as quality judging means and line pick executing means. The various devices in the winding device 10, such as the winding portion 11 and the feed mechanisms 31, 41, 51, 61, are controlled by the controller 81.The cathode sheet supply mechanism 31 includes a cathode sheet roll 32 on which the cathode sheet 4 is wound in a roll shape. The cathode sheet roller 32 is supported by a support shaft 33 which is rotatable by a driving means (not shown). Along with the rotation of the support shaft 33, the cathode sheet 4 is unwound from the cathode sheet roll 32.In addition, the cathode sheet feeding mechanism 31 includes a sheet inserting mechanism 71, a sheet cutting blade 72, a clamping mechanism 73, and a buffer mechanism 75.The sheet inserting mechanism 71 serves to supply the cathode sheet 4 to the winding portion 11, and is configured to be movable along the transport path of the cathode sheet 4 between an approach position where it approaches the winding portion 11 and a distance position where it is spaced from the winding portion 11. The sheet inserting mechanism 71 includes a pair of chuck jaws 71 a, 71 bthat can hold the cathode sheet 4. The chuck jaws 71 a, 71 bare designed such that they can be opened and closed by an operating means (not shown). When the cathode sheet 4 is supplied to the winding portion 11, the cathode sheet 4 is held by the chuck jaws 71 a, 71 b, and the sheet insertion mechanism 71 is approached to the winding portion 11.The sheet cutting blade 72 serves to cut through the cathode sheet 4 and has a pair of blade portions 72a, 72b disposed on the upper and lower sides of the cathode sheet 4, respectively. The sheet cutting blade 72 is configured to be movable between a sheet cutting position where the pair of blade portions 72 a, 72 bacquires the cathode sheet 4 therebetween and a retracting position where they are retracted from the transport path of the cathode sheet 4.The cutting of the cathode sheet 4 is performed in a state where the cathode sheet 4 is held by the chuck jaws 71 a, 71 b. When the sheet inserting mechanism 71 for supplying the cathode sheet 4 to the winding portion 11 approaches the winding portion 11, the pair of blade portions 72 a, 72 bmove away from the transport path of the cathode sheet 4 so as not to interfere with the movement of the sheet inserting mechanism 71.The tension mechanism 73 comprises a pair of rollers 73a, 73b and a dancer roller 73c freely reciprocally disposed between the two rollers 73a, 73b. The dancer roller 73c is driven by a motor (not shown) at a certain constant torque, and is designed to always maintain the cathode sheet 4 at a certain web tension. By tensioning the cathode layer 4, sagging of the cathode layer 4 is prevented. The buffer mechanism 75 serves to temporarily receive the cathode sheet 4 unrolled from the cathode sheet roll 32. The buffer mechanism 75 comprises a pair of follower rollers 75a, 75b and a lift roller 75c vertically displaceable between the two rollers 75a, 75b. The vertical position of the lift roller 75c varies along with the take-up amount of the cathode sheet 4.The anode sheet feeding mechanism 41 has, on its most upstream side, an anode sheet roll 42 on which the anode sheet 5 is wound in a roll shape. The anode sheet roller 42 is supported by a support shaft 43 which is rotatable by a driving means (not shown). Along with the rotation of the support shaft 43, the anode sheet 5 is unwound from the anode sheet roll 42.In addition, the anode sheet feeding mechanism 41 includes a sheet inserting mechanism 71, a sheet cutting blade 72, a clamping mechanism 73, and a buffer mechanism 75 as well as the cathode sheet feeding mechanism 31. Except that these members are provided for the anode sheet 5, they correspond to the members provided on the cathode sheet supply mechanism 31. Therefore, detailed description thereof will be omitted. The separating layer feed mechanisms 51, 61 in turn have separating layer rollers 52, 62, on which the separating layers 2, 3 are wound up in each case in the form of rollers. The separator sheet rolls 52, 62 are freely rotatably supported, and the separator sheets 2, 3 are unrolled therefrom as required. In addition, the separator sheet feeding mechanisms 51, 61 as well as the electrode sheet feeding mechanisms 31, 41 have a chuck mechanism 73. Except that this chuck mechanism 73 is provided for the separator sheets 2, 3, it corresponds to the mechanism provided on the cathode sheet feeding mechanism 31. Therefore, detailed description thereof will be omitted. On the transport path of the sheets 2-5, a pair of pinch rollers 78a, 78b are also provided. The pinch rollers 78a, 78b serve to hold the sheets 2-5 in a superposed state so that the sheets 2-5 are transported on the same transport path. The sheets 2-5 laid one above the other by means of the pressure rollers 78a, 78b are fed to the winding section 11 in this state.A rotation amount of the pressing rollers 78 a, 78 b(in the present embodiment, the rotation amount of the pressing roller 78 b) may be detected by a pressing roller rotator (not illustrated). Information on the amount of rotation of the platen 78b is fed from the platen encoder to the controller 81. The amount of rotation of the pressure roller 78b corresponds to the amount of transport of the sheets 2-5.Next, the structure of the winding portion 11 will be described. As shown in FIG. 4, the winding section 11 includes a reel wheel 12 formed by two opposed round disk-shaped plates rotatably provided by a drive mechanism (not shown), two winding cores 13, 14 provided at a distance of 180° in the rotational direction of the reel wheel 12, clamping sections 15 a, 15 b, a release sheet knife 16, a pressing roller 17 that prevents the sheets 2- 5 from coming off from each other after winding, and a tape adhering mechanism 18 for adhering a specified fixing adhesive tape. The sheets 2-5 are wound on the outer peripheral side of the cores 13, 14, and they are made rotatable about their central axis as a rotational axis by a drive mechanism (not shown). The rotation amount of the winding cores 13, 14 can be detected by a winding core rotator (not shown), and information on the rotation amount of the winding cores 13, 14 is input from the winding core rotator to the controller 81.The cores 13, 14 are provided retractable in the axial direction of the reel wheel 12 (in Fig. 4, etc., in the depth direction of the paper) with respect to the plates constituting the reel wheel 12. When the winding cores 13, 14 project from one of the plates, their front end portion enters a receiving hole formed on the other plate, and they are supported by the two plates in a rotatable state. In addition, the winding cores 13, 14 are designed in such a way that they have a non-round contour on a cross section orthogonal to their respective axis of rotation. In the present embodiment, the winding cores 13, 14 have an oval shape on the cross section orthogonal to their axis of rotation. In the present embodiment, therefore, in the course of the rotation of the winding core 13, 14, a distance from the outer circumferential surface of the winding core 13, 14 to a camera 20 described later changes. In the course of the rotation of the winding core 13, 14, the distance of the layers 2- 5 wound on the winding core 13, 14 from the camera 20 also changes.Further, the winding cores 13 (14) each have a pair of core pieces 13a, 13b (14a, 14b) extending in the axial direction thereof (in the depth direction of the paper in Fig. 4). Between the core pieces 13a, 13b (14a, 14b), a space 13c (14c) is formed. The winding cores 13, 14 are configured such that they are rotatable between a winding position P 1 and a removal position P 2 by rotating the reel wheel 12.The winding position P 1 is a position in which the sheets 2- 5 are wound up by the winding cores 13, 14. In the winding position P1, the sheets 2-5 are fed by the feeding mechanisms 31, 41, 51, 61.The removal position P 2 is a position in which the sheets 2- 5, that is, the battery element 1, are removed after winding. In the vicinity of the removal position P 2, a removal device (not illustrated) or the like for removing the battery element 1 from the winding cores 13, 14 is provided. The clamping portions 15 a, 15 bfunction to hold the separator sheets 2, 3 between the winding position P 1 and the removal position P 2. The clamping sections 15 a, 15 bare configured such that they are rotatable by a drive means (not shown) about an axis of rotation parallel to the axis of rotation of the coil wheel 12 or the winding cores 13, 14. The clamping portions 15 a, 15 bmay be moved between a holding position and a retracting position, respectively. When the clamping portions 15 a, 15 bare moved to the holding position, the clamping portions 15 a, 15 bmay hold the release sheets 2, 3 extending from the nip rollers 78 a, 78 bto the removal position P 2 (see FIG. 14 ). On the other hand, when the clamping portions 15 a, 15 bare moved to the retraction position, they are positioned so as not to interfere with the movement of the cores 13, 14 and the separators 2, 3, and the like (see FIG. 3 ).The separator blade 16 is disposed between the winding position P 1 and the removal position P 2, and is provided closer to the removal position P 2 than the clamping portions 15 a, 15 b. The separator blade 16 is vertically reciprocable between a certain upper position and lower position and intersects the separator blades 2, 3 by moving from the upper position to the lower position. The pressing roller 17 is disposed in the vicinity of the take-out position P 2, and is configured to move between an approach position where it approaches the reel wheel 12 and presses the sheets 2- 5 and a retraction position where it is away from the reel wheel 12 and does not interfere with the movement of the reel cores 13, 14.The tape adhering mechanism 18 is disposed in the vicinity of the take-out position P 2, and adheres a fixing adhesive tape to the end portions of the separator sheets 2, 3 after the end of winding. In addition, the winding section 11 has illumination devices 19 a, 19 bas irradiation means and a camera 20 as recording means. The illumination devices 19 a, 19 band the camera 20 are each arranged corresponding to the winding position P 1.The illumination devices 19 a, 19 bradiate a specific light (for example, visible light or infrared light or the like) to a location of the sheets 2- 5 constituting the object to be examined and wound by the winding core 13, 14 at the winding position P 1, including at least one end edge in the width direction. The illumination devices 19 a, 19 bradiate the light to at least one position offset from the rotation axis of the winding core 13, 14 by less than the minor axis of the winding core 13, 14. While the layers 2- 5 are wound up by the winding core 13, 14, the layers 2- 5 can always be illuminated in this way.The camera 20 has sensitivity for the wavelength range of the light emitted by the illumination devices 19 a, 19 band serves to record at least the positions 2- 5 (examination object) illuminated by the illumination devices 19 a, 19 b.In the present embodiment, the lighting devices 19 a, 19 band the camera 20 are provided in two groups, one group being provided at one end edge in the width direction of the sheets 2- 5 and the other group being provided at the other end edge in the width direction of the sheets 2- 5.In the camera 20 receiving area, the cathode layer 4 lies on the circumference on the whole outside, underneath the separating layer 3, underneath the anode layer 5 and underneath the separating layer 2.The camera 20 includes, as shown in FIG. 5, a lens 21, a pickup element 22, a trigger signal output section 23, a shot memory 24, a focusing section 25 as the focusing means, a calculation section 26, and an output section 27 as the output means. The objective 21 receives the light reflected from the layers 2-5 from the light emitted by the illumination devices 19a, 19b and focuses it into an image for the receiving element 22.The pickup element 22 serves to convert the light that has passed through the lens 21 into an electric signal, and is constituted by, for example, a CMOS image sensor or a CCD image sensor. The trigger signal output section 23 outputs a trigger signal to the receiving element 22. Upon each output of a trigger signal, the pick-up element 22 is exposed and a pick-up of the sheets 2-5 (pick-up data) is output from the pick-up element 22 to the pick-up memory 24. In the obtained mount, at least the cathode layer 4, the separator layer 3, the anode layer 5 accommodated through the separator layer 3, and the separator layer 2 are included (see FIG. 13 ). However, since the edge portions 2E, 3E (end edges in the width direction) of the release liners 2, 3 are always superposed on each other, it happens that the release liner 2 cannot be seen in the image. The present embodiment is configured such that the depth of imaging of the camera 20 is comparatively low, which is why the resolution of the acquired image, i.e. the measurement resolution, is relatively high.In addition, a later-described series recording signal is input from the controller 81 to the camera 20, and when the series recording signal is input, the trigger signal output section 23 repeatedly outputs a trigger signal at certain short intervals until a later-described recording stop signal is input. As a result, a row receptacle is carried out, and a plurality of receptacles are output from the receiving element 22 to the receptacle store 24.The shot memory 24 stores shots input from the shot element 22. While the winding core 13, 14 performs one revolution during the winding of the layers 2-5, a plurality of recordings are stored in the recording memory 24.The focusing section 25 detects, among the plural shots stored in the shot memory 24, those at which the layers 2-5 are focused. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 10, in winding the sheets 2- 5, on the basis of a plurality of shots obtained during one rotation of the winding core 13, 14, the focusing section 25 calculates a value Xb based on the brightness values of the individual shots. The image whose calculated value Xb is the largest is determined as the focus image. This is based on the fact that, during the recording with focusing, the brightness value of the individual pixels is fundamentally higher. In the example of FIG. 10, for example, a shot P 5 in which the value Xb is the greatest is determined as a focus shot in each of a plurality of shots P 1-P 8 obtained during one rotation of the winding core 13, 14, and a shot P 13 in which the value Xb is the greatest is determined as a focus shot in a plurality of shots P 9-P 16 obtained during a next rotation of the winding core 13, 14.If there are a plurality of shots in which the calculated value Xb is the largest, one of them is determined as a focus shot. As a result, the focusing section 25 determines a respective pick-up with focusing for each revolution of the winding core 13, 14. The value Xb based on the brightness values may be, for example, an average value of the brightness value of a plurality of pixels constituting one shot, or a difference of the brightness values between specific adjacent pixels. The calculation section 26 sends the images with focusing obtained by the focusing section 25 from the image memory 24 to the output section 27.The output section 27 serves to send the images to the control device 81 with focusing. In the present embodiment, the number of the trays that the discharge portion 27 sends to the controller 81 is equal to or less than the number of revolutions of the winding core 13, 14 when winding the sheets 2- 5. Therefore, as the output section 27 connecting the output section 27 and the controller 81, a particularly high performance in terms of processing power or transmission power does not need to be used.Next, the controller 81 will be described. The controller 81 includes a CPU serving as calculation means, a ROM for storing various programs, a RAM for temporarily storing various data such as calculation data, input output data and the like, and a hard disk for long-term storage of calculation data and the like. The controller 81 controls, as described above, the various devices of the winding device 10 such as the winding portion 11 and the feeding mechanisms 31, 41, 51, 61, and the like. The operation of the control device 81 in winding the sheets 2-5 is as follows. When a winding operation of the sheets 2-5 starts, the controller 81 outputs a series photographing signal to the camera 20.Together with the output of the series shot signal, the camera 20 inputs the images with focusing one after another to the controller 81. The control device 81 carries out an examination with respect to position deviations of the positions 2-5 and so forth on the basis of the images transmitted by the camera 20. The concrete procedure for the examination will be described later. In the present embodiment, the camera 20 and the controller 81 constitute an inspection apparatus 100 for inspecting the battery element 1.Next, the winding operation of the sheets 2- 5 by the above-described winding device 10 will be described. Before each winding operation, first, the separator sheets 2, 3 are placed in the space 13 c( 14 c) of the one winding core 13 ( 14), and the separator sheets 2, 3 are held by the chuck portions 15 a, 15 b(see FIG. 14 ).During the winding process, as shown in FIG. 6, first, in step S 11, the one winding core 13 ( 14) is rotated by a certain number, so that the one winding core 13 ( 14) rolls up a certain amount of the release liners 2, 3. Subsequently, the clamping portions 15 a, 15 bare moved to their retraction position.Next, in step S 12, the anode sheet 5 is supplied by the sheet inserting mechanism 71 of the anode sheet supplying mechanism 41 on the one winding core 13 ( 14) side. More specifically, the sheet inserting mechanism 71 holding the anode sheet 5 approaches the winding portion 11 side, and the anode sheet 5 is supplied by guiding the anode sheet 5 between the separator sheets 2, 3. After the insertion, the sheet inserting mechanism 71 releases the anode sheet 5, and the sheet inserting mechanism 71 returns to its original position. In the next step S 13 after the anode sheet 5 is supplied, at a stage after the one winding core 13 ( 14) is rotated by a certain number (for example, one revolution), the cathode sheet 4 is supplied by the sheet inserting mechanism 71 on the one winding core 13 ( 14) side. More specifically, the sheet inserting mechanism 71 holding the cathode sheet 4 approaches the winding portion 11 side, and the cathode sheet 4 is supplied by guiding the cathode sheet 4 between the separator sheets 2, 3. After the insertion, the sheet inserting mechanism 71 releases the cathode sheet 4, and the sheet inserting mechanism 71 returns to its original position.Next, in step S 14, capture inspection processing is executed. In the pick inspection processing, as shown in FIG. 7, first, in step S31, control is performed to rotate the one reel core 13 (14) at a certain speed and wind the sheets 2-5.Next, in step S 32, a series capture signal is output to the camera 20. Due to this, the camera 20 performs a series recording of the wound layers 2- 5. In addition, the camera 20 inputs the images acquired by the focusing section 25 as images with focusing to the controller 81. A capturing, acquiring, and output processing that the camera 20 performs to capture, acquire, and output the images will be described later.Next, after step S 32, it is judged in step S 33 whether a transport amount of the cathode sheet 4 has reached a certain preset value. That is, it is judged whether a condition for ending the capture inspection processing is satisfied. As the transport amount of the cathode sheet 4, a transport amount of the sheets 2-5 obtained from the nip roller rotator from the start of winding can be used. The determined amount corresponds to a length of the cathode sheet 4 constituting a single battery element 1. When the certain amount of the cathode sheet 4 has been transported to the winding cores 13, 14, there is a state in which an end portion of the cathode sheet 4 for one element is positioned with respect to the sheet cutting blade 72.On the other hand, if a negative judgment is made in step S 33, it is judged in step S 34 whether a shot has been input from the camera 20. If a negative judgment is made in step S34, a return is made to step S33. On the other hand, if an affirmative judgment is made in step S34, a transition is made to step S35, and examination processing is executed. In the inspection processing of step S 35, first, as shown in FIG. 8, in step S 101, an edge portion 3E (widthwise end edge portion) of the separator 3, an edge portion 2E of the separator 2, an edge portion 4E of the cathode layer 4, and an edge portion 5E of the anode layer 5 are extracted based on the input images (see FIG. 13 ). When the edge portions 2E, 3E overlap each other and the edge portion 2E cannot be extracted, the edge portion 3E is treated as the edge portion 2E.In next step S 102, on the basis of the input images, a boundary portion 4T between the active material coated region 4 aand the non-active material coated region 4 bof the cathode sheet 4 and a boundary portion 5T between the active material coated region 5 aand the non-active material coated region 5 bof the anode sheet 5 are extracted (see FIG. 13 ).Next, in step S 103, respective distance calculations are performed on the edge portions 2E, 3E, 4E, 5E and boundary portions 4T, 5T extracted in step S 101, 102. That is, positional deviation calculation of the sheets 2- 5 wound on the one winding core 13 ( 14) is performed.Specifically, based on the edge portion 3E, a distance L 1 in the sheet width direction to the boundary portion 4T, a distance L 2 in the sheet width direction to the edge portion 4E, a distance L 3 in the sheet width direction to the boundary portion 5T, a distance L 4 in the sheet width direction to the edge portion 5E, and a distance (not illustrated) in the sheet width direction to the edge portion 2E are calculated (see FIG. 13 ).Next, in step S 104, it is judged whether the distances are within a predetermined allowable range based on the distances calculated in step S 103.If it is judged that one of the distances is not within the allowable range, that is, if it is considered that winding deviation of the sheets 2- 5 or coating position deviation of the active material coated regions 4 a, 5 ahas occurred, the judgment "poor" is made in step S 105, and the inspection processing ends.On the other hand, if it is judged in step S 104 that all the distances are within the allowable range, the judgment is made "okay" in step S 106, and the examination processing ends.Returning to FIG. 7, after execution of the examination processing, a transition is made to step S 36, and it is judged whether the judgment in the immediately preceding examination processing was "okay". If a negative judgment is made in step S36 and the judgment in the examination processing was "defective", a transition is made to step S37, and the winding of the sheets 2-5 is stopped by stopping the rotation of the winding core 13, 14. In addition, in step S38, the currently wound battery element 1 is judged as a defective product, and a transition is made to step S41.On the other hand, if an affirmative judgment is made in step S36, a return is made to step S33. In this way, in the imaging inspection processing, at each input of imaging from the camera 20, the processing of step S 35 is repeated until a certain amount of the cathode sheet 4 has been conveyed as long as the judgment in the inspection processing is not "deficient". As a result, examination processing is performed on a plurality of images with focusing. When the inspection processing has been performed without any problem and a certain amount of the cathode sheet 4 has been conveyed (step S 33: Yes), a transition is made to step S 39, and the rotation of the one winding core 13, 14 is stopped. Next, in step S40, the currently wound battery element 1 of the sheets 2-5 is judged as a proper product, and a transition is made to step S41.In step S 41, a capture stop signal is output to the camera 20, and the capture inspection processing ends. By the processing of step S 41, the output of trigger signals by the trigger signal output section 23 is interrupted and the series shooting is ended.Returning to FIG. 6, after performing the pick inspection processing in step S 15, the cathode sheet 4 is held by the sheet inserting mechanism 71, and then the cathode sheet 4 is cut by the sheet cutting blade 72. In the photography inspection processing, when the currently wound battery element 1 is judged to be a proper product, the cathode sheet 4 for an element is cut at its end portion. On the other hand, in the photography inspection processing, when the currently wound battery element 1 is judged to be a defective product, the cathode sheet 4 is cut before the end portion thereof. In the next step S16, it is judged whether the judgment in the photography inspection processing was "Good Product". When an affirmative judgment is made in step S 16, the rotation of the one winding core 13 ( 14) is resumed, and a transition is made to step S 17.On the other hand, if a negative judgment is made in step S16, the rotation of the one winding core 13 (14) is not resumed, and a transition is made to step S18. That is, when the currently wound battery element 1 has been judged to be defective, no further anode sheet 5 is supplied. In step S17, the judgment as to whether the transport amount of the anode sheet 5 has reached a certain amount from the start of feeding is repeated until the condition is satisfied. The determined amount corresponds to a length of the anode sheet 5 constituting a single battery element 1. The transport amount of the anode sheet 5 can be calculated based on the transport amount of the sheets 2-5 obtained from the nip roller rotator. When an affirmative judgment is made in step S17, that is, when the end portion of the currently wound anode sheet 5 for one element has reached the sheet cutting blade 72, the rotation of the one winding core 13 (14) is temporarily stopped, and a transition is made to step S18.In step S 18, the anode sheet 5 is held by the sheet inserting mechanism 71, and then the anode sheet 5 is cut by the sheet cutting blade 72.Next, in step S 19, the end portion (non-wound portion) of the electrode sheets 4, 5 is wound by resuming the rotation of the one winding core 13 ( 14).After step S19, the reel gear 12 is rotated counterclockwise in step S20 without cutting through the separator sheets 2, 3. Thereby, the one winding core 13 ( 14) located at the winding position P 1 is moved to the removal position P 2 while pulling out the release liners 2, 3 from the release liner feeding mechanisms 51, 61. The other winding core 14 ( 13) located at the removal position P 2 is moved to the winding position P 1 in a state of being buried in the one plate of the reel wheel 12.Then, in step S21, together with the rotation of the reel wheel 12, the one reel core 13 (14) on which the sheets 2-5 have been wound is rotated. Then, in the next step S 22, winding completion processing is performed, whereby the winding operation ends.In the winding completion processing, first, at a time point detected by the winding core rotator and at which the rotation amount of the one winding core 13 ( 14) has reached a certain value from the cutting of the anode layer 5, the rotation of the one winding core 13 ( 14) is stopped. Before stopping the rotation of the one winding core 13 (14), simultaneously or after the stop, the rotation of the reel gear 12 is stopped. When the rotation of one winding core 13 ( 14) and the reel wheel 12 is stopped, the one winding core 13 ( 14) that was previously in the winding position P 1 is in the take-up position P 2, while the other winding core 14 ( 13) that was previously in the take-up position P 2 is in the winding position P 1.In this state, the pinch roller 17 approaches the one reel core 13 (14), and the sheets 2-5 are pinched by the pinch roller 17. In addition, by moving the clamping portions 15 a, 15 bfrom the retraction position to the holding position, the separator sheets 2, 3 are held between the two positions P 1 and P 2. The separating layer blade 16 then approaches the separating layers 2, 3 and intersects the separating layers 2, 3 (see FIG. 15 ).Further, by projecting the other winding core 14 (13) from the one plate of the reel wheel 12, the separator sheets 2, 3 are placed in the space 14c (13c) of the other winding core 14 (13). By rotating the other winding core 14 (13) by a certain amount during the next winding process, a certain amount of the release liners 2, 3 is wound on its outer periphery. The electrode layers 4, 5 are then fed to the other winding core 14 (13), onto which the separating layers 2, 3 have been wound. After cutting through the separating layers 2, 3, one winding core 13 (14) is rotated while pressing the layers 2-5 by the pressure roller 17. Thereby, the end portions of the separator layers 2, 3 and the electrode layers 4, 5 are completely wound without separating. Subsequently, the end portions of the separator sheets 2, 3 are fixed by the tape adhering mechanism 18 by means of the fixing tape, thus ending the winding completion processing. The completely wound battery element 1 is removed from the one winding core 13 ( 14) by the removal device. A battery element 1 judged as a proper product is conveyed to the regular line. A battery element 1 judged to be defective is conveyed to a certain reject mechanism.Next, the capturing, acquiring, and outputting processing performed by the camera 20 will be described. This processing is processing in which a series shot of the sheets 2- 5 is prepared, among the plurality of shots acquired by the series shot, those in which there is focus are obtained, and the shots with focus are output to the controller 81.In this processing, as shown in Fig. 9, first, in step S51, a judgment as to whether a series pick-up signal has been input is repeated until the judgment is affirmative. If an affirmative judgment is made in step S51, a transition is made to step S52, and it is judged whether a capture stop signal has been input. If an affirmative judgment is made in step S52, a transition is made to step S61.On the other hand, if a negative judgment is made in step S52, a trigger signal is output from the trigger signal output section 23 to the receiving element 22 in step S53. As a result, the receiving element 22 sends the receptacles of the layers 2- 5 to the receptacle storage 24.In the next step S54, the counter value is incremented by 1. The counter value serves to judge whether the one reel core 13 (14) has made one revolution, and its initial value is 0 in the present embodiment. The counter is provided on the arithmetic section 26, for example. In step S 55, the recordings of the plies 2- 5 transmitted by the recording element 22 are now stored in the recording memory 24.Next, in step S56, it is judged whether the counter value has reached a certain preset value. This determined value corresponds to the number of recordings which are produced during one revolution of the winding core 13, 14. When the counter value reaches the determined value, the winding core 13 14 has thus completed one revolution. When processing immediately after the start of winding or before the end of winding of the layers 2- 5, if the winding core 13, 14 rotates relatively slowly and a relatively large number of recordings are produced during one rotation of the winding core 13, 14, the specific value can be set relatively high. If, on the other hand, the winding core 13, 14 rotates at a specific rotational speed and relatively few recordings are produced during one rotation of the winding core 13, 14, the specific value can be set relatively low.If an affirmative judgment is made in step S56, a transition is made to step S57. On the other hand, if a negative judgment is made in step S56, the process returns to step S52, and as long as no capture stop signal is input, the processing of steps S53-S55 is executed again. Thus, as long as no recording stop signal is input, the plurality of recordings obtained during one rotation of the one winding core 13 ( 14) are stored in the recording memory 24.In step S 57, the value Xb is calculated in each case on the basis of the plurality of images obtained during one revolution of the one winding core 13 ( 14) and stored in the image memory 24, on the basis of the brightness of the individual images. In step S 58, the one in which focusing is present is determined from among the plurality of shots based on the calculated value Xb. For example, as shown in FIG. 11, when the distance from the outer peripheral surface of the one reel core 13 (14) to the camera 20 is relatively small immediately after the winding start of the sheets 2-5, the sheets 2-5 are located in a focusing area R of the camera 20. On the other hand, for example, as shown in FIG. 12, when the distance from the outer peripheral surface of the one reel core 13 (14) to the camera 20 is relatively large immediately before the winding end of the sheets 2-5, the sheets 2-5 are located in the focusing area R of the camera 20.Returning to FIG. 9, in step S 59, the image acquired by the focusing section 25 is output from the image memory 24 to the controller 81 via the output section 27. The output section 27 outputs only the image acquired by the focusing section 25 as a focus image among the plurality of images stored in the image memory 24. Along with the output of the photography, an affirmative judgment is made in step S34 of the above-described rewinding operation, and examination processing or the like is performed based on the photography. After the output of the recording, the counter value is reset to the initial value in step S60, and then a return is made to step S52.If an affirmative judgment is made in step S52, that is, if a capture stop signal has been input, the counter value is reset to the initial value in step S61, and a return is made to step S51. Thus, the camera 20 enters the waiting state for the input of the series recording signal. As described above in detail, according to the present embodiment, with the electrode sheets 4, 5 and the separator sheets 2, 3 wound on the winding cores 13, 14 as the inspection object, a shot of the inspection object is taken by the camera 20, and based on the shot thus obtained, the controller 81 judges the quality of the inspection object. That is, the control device 81 performs quality judgment on the actually wound-up examination object. Since the quality assessment is carried out in this way on the actually wound examination object, the quality of the battery element 1 can be assessed more precisely. In addition, the winding cores 13, 14 have a non-round contour on a cross section orthogonal to the rotation axis thereof, so that the distance from the outer circumferential surface of the winding core 13, 14 to the camera 20 varies according to the rotation angle of the winding core 13, 14.By utilizing this fact, even when the thickness (diameter) of the sheets 2- 5 wound on the winding core 13, 14 varies when the sheets 2- 5 are wound up, focus capturing can be obtained with higher reliability by performing series capturing of the inspection object by the camera 20.As a result, focus images can be obtained more reliably even when the diameter of the sheets 2- 5 wound on the winding core 13, 14 varies, while at the same time reducing the depth of image and increasing the measurement resolution. Thus, increasing the measurement resolution and increasing the depth of focus (widening the focusing range) are in a competitive relationship, and an effect as would be obtained when both are realized at the same time can be obtained. In addition, since the controller 81 performs the quality judgment of the inspection object from the focus capturing, the reliability of the inspection can be significantly enhanced. In addition, due to the execution of the mere series shooting by the camera 20, it is not necessary to perform complicated shooting control for acquiring the shots with focusing. In this way, the processing effort can be effectively reduced. The focusing section 25 determines those images in which focusing is present on the basis of the brightness of the images. Thus, images with focusing can be determined more easily. In addition, the camera 20 includes the focusing section 25 and the shot memory 24 for storing the plurality of shots acquired by the series shot. Therefore, when capturing with focusing, data exchange is not necessary between the camera 20 and an outer portion, and the capturing processing may be performed inside the camera 20. Thus, images with focusing can be quickly obtained. In addition, among the plurality of images stored in the image memory 24, the output section 27 outputs only the images with focusing to the outer section (to the controller 81). Thereby, the amount of data outputted to the outer portion can be kept relatively small, and the images and information can be transmitted from the output portion 27 to the outer portion using an ordinary transmission system (for example, an ordinary image transmission technique). In addition, a reduced processing load can be achieved for the camera 20 and the external device (controller 81) to which the images are input. The electrode layers 4, 5 and separating layers 2, 3 can also be recorded by the camera 20 at once. Therefore, with few capturing operations, the captured images required for inspection can be obtained, whereby the inspection efficiency can be increased. There is no limitation to the content of the above-described embodiment, and the following embodiment is also possible, for example. Of course, other application examples and modification examples are also possible, which are not listed below.(a) In the above-described embodiment, a winding deviation of the sheets 2- 5 or a coating position deviation of the active material coated regions 4 a, 5 ais examined based on the acquired images, but the examination target is not limited thereto. Thus, for example, when a mark is provided on the electrode sheets 4, 5, the position of the mark along the width direction of the electrode sheets 4-5 can be examined based on the obtained images. As the mark, there may be mentioned a welding mark welded to the non-active material coated portions 4b, 5b of the electrode sheets 4, 5, or a cut mark cut at intervals at one end portion of the electrode sheets 4, 5 in the width direction. Other elements can of course also be examined on the basis of the images obtained. Independently of the examination target, the reliability of the examination can be considerably increased due to the execution of the examination on the basis of the recordings with focusing.(b) Although not specifically stated in the above-described embodiment, the camera 20 may be configured to be movable along the light axis direction of the lens 21 with respect to the winding core 13, 14. With such a configuration, even when the battery element 1 is large and the variation in diameter of the wound layers 2- 5 between the start of winding and the end of winding is comparatively large, by moving the camera 20 relative to the winding core 13, 14, accurate focusing of the layers 2- 5 constituting the inspection object is enabled. Therefore, battery elements 1 of different sizes can be inspected with high accuracy. The camera 20 can also be moved gradually in accordance with the winding of the sheets 2- 5, and when the winding amount of the sheets 2- 5 reaches a certain value, it can be moved to a certain position.(c) In the above-described embodiment, the focus shots are outputted from the camera 20 to the controller 81, and the controller 81 judges the quality of the sheets 2-5 from these shots. However, the camera 20 (for example, the calculation section 26) can also judge the quality of the layers 2- 5 based on the images with focusing and output information on the images (the judgment result) to the control device 81. In this case, the amount of data transmitted from the camera 20 to the controller 81 can be further reduced and the processing amount can be reduced. An embodiment is also possible, wherein both the images with focusing and information relating to the images are output to the control device 81.(d) In the above-described embodiment, the quality judgment is made from the relative position of the sheets 2-5, but the quality judgment can be made from the absolute position of the sheets 2-5. In this case, the absolute position of the plies 2- 5 can be obtained, for example, by markings applied to the winding cores 13, 14.An embodiment is also possible in which the quality assessment takes place by comparing a plurality of recordings with focusing. For example, by comparing a pick-up of the layers 2- 5 immediately after the start of winding and a pick-up of the layers 2- 5 immediately before the end of winding, when the positional change of the layers 2- 5 along the width direction of the layers 2- 5 is large, it can be determined that the layers 2- 5 have been obliquely wound with respect to the rotation axis of the winding core 13, 14, and thus a judgment as "defective" can be made. With this configuration, the position change of the layers 2- 5 can be detected as a whole, whereby the quality of the battery element 1 can be evaluated even more accurately.(e) In the above-described embodiment, the separator layers 2, 3 and the two electrode layers 4, 5 are each supplied to the winding core 13, 14 via the same transport path. Also, the separator layers 2, 3 and the two electrode layers 4, 5 are accommodated at once. However, a configuration is also possible, wherein one of the two separating layers 2, 3 and one of the two electrode layers 4, 5 is fed to the winding core via a transport path and the other of the two separating layers 2, 3 and the other of the two electrode layers 4, 5 are fed to the winding core via a different transport path. In this case, a configuration is possible, wherein one of the two separator layers 2, 3 wound on the winding core and one of the two electrode layers 4, 5 and the other of the two separator layers 2, 3 wound on the winding core and the other of the two electrode layers 4, 5 are received separately. That is, in the above-described embodiment, four layers are accommodated at a time, but two layers may be accommodated separately.(f) In the above-described embodiment, as the cores 13, 14, cores having an oval-shaped outer periphery are used on which the sheets 2- 5 are wound, but the shape of the cores 13, 14 is not limited thereto. Thus, for example, winding cores having a rectangular (flattened), polygonal or elliptical outer circumference can also be used.(g) The material of the separator layers 2, 3 and electrode layers 4, 5 is not limited to the above-described embodiment. For example, the separator layers 2, 3 are formed of PP in the above-described embodiment, but the separator layers 2, 3 may be formed of another insulating material. Also, for example, the active material coated on the electrode layers 4, 5 can be changed as desired.(h) In the above-described embodiment, the winding portion 11 has two winding cores 13, 14, but there is no limitation in this respect, and a configuration in which it has three or more winding cores is also possible. If there is only one winding core, the reel wheel 12 etc. may be omitted.(i) In the above-described embodiment, the layers 2- 5 are directly wound on the outer periphery of the rotatable core 13, 14, a configuration including a rotatable shaft portion and a tubular core disposed on the outer periphery of the shaft portion, on the outer peripheral surface of which the layers 2- 5 are wound, is also possible. In this case, the winding core can have a non-round contour on a cross section orthogonal to its axis of rotation.Reference numerals denote reference numerals1... battery element (winding element), 2, 3... separating layer, 4... cathode layer, 5... anode layer, 10... winding device, 13, 14... winding core, 19 a, 19 b... illumination device (irradiation means), 20... camera (recording means), 21...
