AI Technical Summary
Ceramic glow plugs face issues with metallization damage due to thermal stress and copper oxidation at the lead wire exit point, leading to reduced life and reliability of the electrical connection.
A heating element design with a copper-nickel composition in the connection part, where the first part has a higher copper content and the second part has a higher nickel content, distributed in layers to manage thermal stress and oxidation, enhancing the durability and reliability of the electrical connection.
The design increases the durability of the ceramic heating element by reducing metallization damage and copper oxidation, ensuring stable electrical connections.

Abstract
Claims
[1] Heating element (10), comprising a rod-shaped ceramic body (1), a heating resistor (2) with a bent shape embedded in the front end of the ceramic body (1), a line (3) which is electrically connected to the heating resistor (2) and is led out of the interior of the ceramic body (1) on an outer peripheral surface on the rear end side, a metallization section (4) provided at least on the part of the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic body (1) where the line (3) is led out, a metallic outer tube (5) which is a tubular member and is arranged to cover a part of the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic body (1), including the metallization portion (4), and a connecting part (6) arranged to cover the metallization section (4) and to be in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic body (1) and the inner peripheral surface of the metallic outer tube (5) and to electrically connect the metallization section (4) to the metallic outer tube (5), the connecting part (6) having a first part (61) provided on the upper surface of the metallization section (4) and a second part (62) arranged further forward than the first part (61), where the the first part (61) and the second part (62) each contain nickel and copper, wherein the first part (61) contains a lower proportion of nickel than the second part (62) and the second part (62) contains a lower proportion of copper than the first part (61). [2] Heating element (10) according to claim 1, characterized bythat the first part (61) comprises a nickel-copper alloy, wherein the nickel-copper alloy is provided continuously from the surface adjacent to the metallization section (4) to the surface adjacent to the metallic outer tube (5). [3] Heating element (10) according to claim 1, characterized by that the first part (61) also contains silver, wherein when the first part (61) is divided in a direction vertical to the axial direction of the ceramic body (1) into three layers of equal thickness, namely from the side of the ceramic body (1) a first layer (611), a second layer (612) and a third layer (613), the second layer (612) contains a higher proportion of silver than the first layer (611) and the third layer (613). [4] Heating element (10) according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized byin that the connecting part (6) further comprises a third part (63) which is provided further back than the first part (61), the second part (62) and the third part (63) each containing nickel and silver, and the third part (63) containing a lower proportion of nickel in relation to silver than the second part (62).
