Description

BACKGROUND(a) Technical field

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a sealing system for a vehicle, in particular the sealing system which is designed for simple and easy assembly of a sealing element, such as a sealing strip. (b) Description of the state of the art

[0002] A vehicle includes a vehicle door for covering or uncovering a door opening in a vehicle body. The vehicle also includes a sealing structure for the vehicle door to create a seal between the vehicle door and the door opening in the vehicle body.

[0003] A vehicle sealing system comprises a door-side seal, mounted to the edges of the vehicle door, and a body-side seal, attached to the vehicle body around the door opening. When the vehicle door closes the door opening in the vehicle body, the door-side seal comes into close contact with the vehicle body to create a seal between the vehicle body and the door, and the body-side seal comes into close contact with the vehicle door to create a seal between the vehicle door and the vehicle body.

[0004] A bus typically includes a folding door that moves between an unfolded position, where the door covers the opening, and a folded position, where it uncovers the opening. The door-side seal may be press-fitted into an edge of the folding door, and the body-side seal may be press-fitted into the vehicle body around the door opening. For example, a flange may be provided on the edge of the folding door, and the door-side seal may be press-fitted into the flange using a tool such as a screwdriver, soapy water, and / or the like. A bracket may be attached to the vehicle body around the door opening using fasteners, welding, and / or the like, and the body-side seal may be press-fitted into the bracket on the vehicle body.

[0005] When a conventional sealing strip is press-fitted into the vehicle door or vehicle body, the installation time can be excessively long, and scratches can occur on a panel of the vehicle door because an operator uses a tool, such as a screwdriver, during the installation of the sealing strip.

[0006] Furthermore, it is difficult to attach the conventional sealing strip to the vehicle door or vehicle body using fasteners and / or the like, so that the sealing strip can sag or partially detach from the vehicle door or vehicle body due to frequent opening and closing of the vehicle door.

[0007] From US patent 4,015,368 A, a sealing system for a vehicle is known, comprising: a mounting element connected to a vehicle door, the mounting element comprising a web and a first flange and a second flange extending opposite each other from the web; and a sealing element comprising a sealing body and a first engagement section and a second engagement section integrally connected with the sealing body, wherein the first engagement section and the second engagement section are opposite each other with respect to the web, wherein the first engagement section is elastically engaged with the first flange, and wherein the second engagement section is elastically engaged with the second flange.

[0008] DE 101 57 001 C1 discloses a sealing system in which the sealing surface of the seal equipped with centering elements is provided with a movable central section. This section is designed to be adjustable between a first end position, in which it curves convexly outwards towards the other seal when the door is closed, and a second end position, in which it curves concavely inwards, i.e., away from the other seal when the door is closed. One of the centering elements is formed on this central section, allowing it to travel a relatively large adjustment path in the direction of travel between the end positions of the central section. This design has the advantage that, when the door is closed, the stroke-adjustable sealing surface comes into contact with the still outwardly curved central section after a relatively small stroke, thus achieving pre-centering.

[0009] US Patent 2019 / 0255923A1 describes a signaling device for a door leaf of an access door to a transport vehicle, including a seal. The device has a mounting area that is intended to be at least partially received in a recess of a profile of the door leaf, as well as a lighting area and lighting means that can illuminate the lighting area of the seal in such a way as to emit at least one visual signal that indicates, in particular, the open and / or closed state of the door. The device includes a locking key that is at least partially received in an interior of the seal, the key being able to prevent the seal from being pulled out of the profile along a transverse direction with respect to the main direction of the seal, and the lighting device being attached to the locking key.

[0010] EP 1 555 153 A2 also discloses a portal seal for doors on public transport vehicles, comprising a core made of hard material, fixed to the door frame and designed as a profile rail. At its outward end, the core has a head with a substantially T-shaped cross-section, which is encased by a sealing strip made of rubber-elastic material. This sealing strip is connected, at least on its side facing the sealing surface of the door leaf, to a sealing lip that bears against the sealing surface, at least when the door is closed. The sealing strip has a longitudinally extending cavity in the area immediately behind the sealing lip, which is filled with a substance that, when compressed by the door leaf, converts the kinetic energy into other forms of energy, in particular heat energy.

[0011] The information described above, which is detailed in this background section, serves to provide a better understanding of the background of the concept according to the invention and may include any technical concept that is not considered to be prior art and is already known to the person skilled in the art. [0024] In this description, the term "inside" refers to a direction towards an interior space of the vehicle, and the term "outside" refers to a direction towards an exterior space of the vehicle.

[0025] With reference to 1, a bus 1 can comprise a vehicle body 2 with a door opening 6 and a vehicle door 3 for covering or uncovering the door opening 6 of the vehicle body 2. The vehicle door 3 can comprise a door panel 4 and a pane 5 that is fixedly mounted to the door panel 4. With reference to Fig. 2. The door panel 4 may comprise an inner panel 4a facing the interior of the vehicle and an outer panel 4b facing the exterior of the vehicle, and the inner panel 4a and the outer panel 4b may be joined by means of fasteners, welding and / or the like.

[0026] For example, vehicle door 3 can be a folding door that moves between an unfolded position, in which the door covers the door opening 6 of bus 1, and a folded position, in which the door uncovers the door opening 6. As another example, vehicle door 3 can be a swing door that pivots around a hinge axis. As yet another example, vehicle door 3 can be a sliding door that slides along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body 2 of bus 1.

[0027] With reference to Fig. 2 to 5, a sealing system 10 for a vehicle according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure can comprise a mounting element 11 which is provided on an edge of the vehicle door 3 and a sealing element 12 which is detachably engaged with the mounting element 11.

[0028] The mounting element 11 can be integrally connected to the door panel 4 of the vehicle door 3. The mounting element 11 can comprise a web 21 extending from the edge of the vehicle door 3 towards the sealing element 12, and a pair of flanges 22a and 22b extending opposite each other from the end of the web 21. A longitudinal axis of each of the flanges 22a and 22b can be perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the web 21. The pair of flanges 22a and 22b can be opposite each other with respect to the web 21. That is, the mounting element 11 can have a T-shaped cross-section defined by the web 21 and the pair of flanges 22a and 22b.

[0029] The web 21 can comprise a first half-web 21a extending from the inner panel 4a and a second half-web 21b extending from the outer panel 4b. The first half-web 21a and the second half-web 21b can extend towards the sealing element 12, and the first half-web 21a can be attached to the second half-web 21b by means of fasteners, welding, and / or the like.

[0030] The pair of flanges 22a and 22b can comprise a first flange 22a extending from one end of the first half-web 21a, and a second flange 22b extending from one end of the second half-web 21b. The first flange 22a can extend from the end of the first half-web 21a towards the interior of the vehicle, and the second flange 22b can extend from the end of the second half-web 21b towards the exterior of the vehicle.

[0031] The mounting element 11 can have a first groove 23a defined by the web 21 and the first flange 22a. The first groove 23a can be defined by an edge face of the vehicle door 3, the first half-web 21a, and the first flange 22a, and the first groove 23a can be open towards the interior of the vehicle. The mounting element 11 can have a second groove 23b defined by the web 21 and the second flange 22b. The second groove 23b can be defined by the edge face of the vehicle door 3, the second half-web 21b, and the second flange 22b, and the second groove 23b can be open towards the exterior of the vehicle. The first groove 23a and the second groove 23b can be arranged opposite each other with respect to the web 21.

[0032] The sealing element 12 can comprise a sealing body 31 and a pair of engagement sections 33a and 33b, which are integrally connected to the sealing body 31. The sealing element 12 can be made of an elastic material, such as rubber. Thus, the sealing element 12 can be easily deformed to readily achieve sufficient sealing performance between the vehicle door 3 and the vehicle body 2.

[0033] The sealing body 31 can have a plurality of sealing lips 31a and 31b. The sealing body 31 can have a tubular shape with a defined cavity 31c therein. When the vehicle door 3 is closed, the sealing body 31 can elastically contact the vehicle body 2 around the door opening 6.

[0034] The pair of engagement sections 33a and 33b can comprise a first engagement section 33a and a second engagement section 33b, which are opposite each other in a lateral direction of the vehicle. The first engagement section 33a can elastically engage with the first half-web 21a and the first flange 22a of the mounting element 11, and the second engagement section 33b can elastically engage with the second half-web 21b and the second flange 22b of the mounting element 11.

[0035] The first engagement section 33a can face the interior of the vehicle, and the first engagement section 33a can be integrally connected to the sealing body 31 by a first connecting section 32a, which is elastically deformable. The first engagement section 33a can be spaced apart from the sealing body 31 by a first gap 35a, which corresponds to the length of the first connecting section 32a. When the first connecting section 32a is elastically bent, the first engagement section 33a can be detachably brought into engagement with the first groove 23a. The first engagement section 33a can have a shape corresponding to that of the first groove 23a, and thus the first engagement section 33a can be firmly and elastically inserted into the first groove 23a of the mounting element 11. In particular, the first groove 23a can be filled by the first engagement section 33a.For example, the first groove 23a and the first engagement section 33a can have a corresponding rectangular cross-section.

[0036] According to an exemplary embodiment, the width of the first connecting section 32a can be less than the width of the first engagement section 33a, making it easier to elastically bend the first connecting section 32a. Furthermore, the first engagement section 33a can have a defined first cavity 34a, and the first engagement section 33a can be more easily deformed due to the first cavity 34a.

[0037] The second engagement section 33b can face the outside of the vehicle, and the second engagement section 33b can be integrally connected to the sealing body 31 by a second connecting section 32b, which is elastically deformable. The second engagement section 33b can be spaced apart from the sealing body 31 by a second gap 35b, the length of which corresponds to the second connecting section 32b. When the second connecting section 32b is elastically bent, the second engagement section 33b can be detachably brought into engagement with the second groove 23b. The second engagement section 33b can have a shape corresponding to that of the second groove 23b, and thus the second engagement section 33b can be firmly and elastically inserted into the second groove 23b of the mounting element 11. In particular, the second groove 23b can be filled by the second engagement section 33b.For example, the second groove 23b and the second engagement section 33b can have a corresponding rectangular cross-section.

[0038] According to an exemplary embodiment, the width of the second connecting section 32b can be less than the width of the second engagement section 33b, making it easier to elastically bend the second connecting section 32b. Furthermore, the second engagement section 33b can have a defined second cavity 34b, and the second engagement section 33b can be more easily deformed due to the second cavity 34b.

[0039] Since the first intervention section 33a and the second intervention section 33b are opposite each other with respect to the web 21, the first cavity 34a and the second cavity 34b can be opposite each other with respect to the web 21.

[0040] According to an exemplary embodiment, the engagement sections 33a and 33b of the sealing element 12 can be engaged with the web 21 of the mounting element 11 by a fastening element, and the fastening element can penetrate the pair of engagement sections 33a and 33b and the web 21 through the pair of cavities 34a and 34b and fasten the pair of engagement sections 33a and 33b and the web 21. With reference to Fig. 2. The fastening element can be a snap clip 40, and the snap clip 40 can be fitted into the through holes 41a and 41b of the web 21 and the through holes 42a and 42b of the engagement sections 33a and 33b. In particular, the web 21 can have a first through hole 41a defined in the first half-web 21a and a second through hole 41b defined in the second half-web 21b, and the first through hole 41a can be aligned with the second through hole 41b. The first engagement section 33a can have a third through hole 42a aligned with the first through hole 41a of the web 21, and the second engagement section 33b can have a fourth through hole 42b aligned with the second through hole 41b of the web 21.For example, the locking clip 40 can have a head and two elastic legs extending from the head, and each elastic leg can have a retaining end section. The head of the locking clip 40 can be located in the first cavity 34a, and the retaining end sections of the elastic legs of the locking clip 40 can be located in the second cavity 34b. Since the sealing element 12 is firmly engaged with the mounting element 11 by the fastening element, it is prevented from sagging or partially detaching from the edge of the vehicle door 3 due to frequent opening and closing of the vehicle door 3.

[0041] With reference to Fig. 5. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the sealing system 10 for a vehicle can further comprise a protective cover 45 for covering the first cavity 34a and the second cavity 34b of the sealing element 12. The protective cover 45 can comprise a first retaining barb 45a, which is inserted and fitted into the first cavity 34a, and a second retaining barb 45b, which is inserted and fitted into the second cavity 34b. Thus, the protective cover 45 can prevent foreign bodies from penetrating the cavities 34a and 34b of the sealing element 12.

[0042] With reference to Fig. 6 a sealing system 50 for a vehicle according to another exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise a mounting element 51 which is provided on an edge of the vehicle body 2 and a sealing element 52 which is detachably engaged with the mounting element 51.

[0043] The mounting element 51 can be detachably engaged with the edge of the vehicle body 2 by means of fasteners (screws, rivets, etc.). The mounting element 51 can comprise a web 61 extending from the vehicle body 2 to the outside of the vehicle, and a pair of flanges 62a and 62b extending opposite each other from the end of the web 61. That is, the mounting element 51 can have a T-shaped cross-section defined by the web 61 and the pair of flanges 62a and 62b.

[0044] The web 61 can extend laterally towards the outside of the vehicle, and each of the flanges 62 and 62b can extend longitudinally along the vehicle. The pair of flanges 62a and 62b can comprise a first flange 62a extending from the end of the web 61 towards the vehicle body 2, and a second flange 62b extending from the end of the web 61 towards the vehicle door 3.

[0045] The first flange 62a can have a first retaining barb 62c projecting from one end towards the interior of the vehicle, and the first retaining barb 62c can be oriented perpendicular to the first flange 62a. The mounting element 51 can have a groove 62e defined by the first flange 62a, the first retaining barb 62c, and the web 61.

[0046] The second flange 62b can have a second retaining barb 62d, which projects from one end of it towards the vehicle door 3. In particular, the second retaining barb 62d can have a curved shape.

[0047] The sealing element 52 can comprise a sealing body 71 and a pair of engagement sections 73a and 73b, which are integrally connected to the sealing body 71. The sealing element 52 can be made of an elastic material, such as rubber. Thus, the sealing element 52 can be easily deformed to achieve sufficient sealing performance between the vehicle door 3 and the vehicle body 2.

[0048] The sealing body 71 can have a plurality of sealing lips 71a and 71b that elastically contact the vehicle body 2 and the vehicle door 3. According to an exemplary embodiment, the plurality of sealing lips 71a and 71b can comprise a first sealing lip 71a that elastically contacts the vehicle body 2 or a component (an outer window, etc.) attached to the vehicle body 2, and a second sealing lip 71b that elastically contacts the vehicle door 3. With reference to Fig. 6. The outer pane 2a can be arranged adjacent to the vehicle body 2, and the first sealing lip 71a can elastically contact the outer pane 2a. A door-side sealing element 3a can be mounted on the edge of the vehicle door 3, and the second sealing lip 71b can elastically contact the door-side sealing element 3a.

[0049] The pair of engagement sections 73a and 73b can comprise a first engagement section 73a and a second engagement section 73b, which are opposite each other along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and the first engagement section 73a and the second engagement section 73b can face the interior of the vehicle.

[0050] The first engagement section 73a can be integrally connected to the sealing body 71 by a first connecting section 72a, which is elastically deformable. The first engagement section 73a can be spaced apart from the sealing body 71 by the length of the first connecting section 72a. Since the first connecting section 72a is elastically bent, the first engagement section 73a can be detachably engaged with the first flange 62a and the first retaining barb 62c of the mounting element 51.

[0051] The first engagement section 73a can have a retaining barb 74a that projects from one end towards the outside of the vehicle. Since the retaining barb 74a of the first engagement section 73a is firmly and elastically fitted into the groove 62e of the mounting element 51, the first engagement section 73a can engage more firmly with the first flange 62a of the mounting element 51.

[0052] The second engagement section 73b can be integrally connected to the sealing body 71 by a second connecting section 72b, which is elastically deformable. Since the second connecting section 72b is elastically bent, the second engagement section 73b can detachably engage with the second flange 62b of the mounting element 51. The second connecting section 72b can have a curved shape corresponding to that of the second retaining barb 62d of the mounting element 51, and the second connecting section 72b can engage with the second retaining barb 62d of the mounting element 51.

[0053] The mounting element 51 can have a retaining flange 64 provided on the web 61, and the retaining flange 64 can extend in a curved manner from the web 61 towards the second flange 62b, and accordingly, the retaining flange 64 can define a groove that is open towards the second flange 62b. The second engagement section 73b can have a retaining barb 74b that projects from one end towards the interior of the vehicle, and the retaining barb 74b can have a curved surface corresponding to that of the retaining flange 64, and thus the retaining barb 74b can be firmly and elastically fitted into the groove of the retaining flange 64 of the mounting element 51.

[0054] As explained above, according to exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, the sealing element, such as a sealing strip, can be easily mounted on the mounting element provided on the vehicle door and / or the vehicle body, thereby reducing the installation time of the sealing element.
