Abstract

Device for controlling the temperature of a battery system (22), comprising: a heating control module (62) electrically connected to the battery system (22) and a conversion device designed to control the power output from the battery system (22), wherein the heating control module (62) is designed to: measure a current through the conversion device, the measured current being supplied by the battery system (22) of a vehicle (10) during vehicle operation or by a power source when charging the vehicle (10), control the conversion device to generate a heating alternating current using the measured current, and apply the heating alternating current to the battery system (22) to heat the battery system (22) to a desired temperature, wherein the vehicle (10) has a first electric motor (20) connected to a first inverter (36) and a second electric motor (21).which is connected to a second inverter (38), and the control of the conversion device includes controlling a phase branch of the first inverter (36) to generate the heating alternating current.
