Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an axial foil bearing comprising a base plate, having a corrugated foil arranged above it in the axial direction and having a multiplicity of corrugated spring structures, and a cover foil arranged above the corrugated foil in the axial direction, wherein the corrugated foil and the cover foil can be attached to the base plate, wherein the base plate, the corrugated foil and the cover foil are arranged such that an aerodynamic slide bearing is realized when rotated about a common axis. This invention further relates to an assembly method for assembling an axial foil bearing.Axial foil bearings are known from the prior art, in which a plurality of individual segments, each consisting of a corrugated foil and a cover foil, are arranged in the shape of a circular arc on a base or carrier plate. The individual corrugated and cover foil segments are in many cases each individually joined to the base plate by welding.Axial foil bearings, in particular aerodynamic axial slide bearings of foil construction, are also known, in which a plurality of resilient segments are attached to a one-piece corrugated foil and the same number of slide surfaces are attached to a one-piece cover foil. In such cases, too, the individual parts are often joined by welding.Furthermore, axial foil bearing designs are also known which consist of additional layers of corrugated foils or intermediate foils. Complex variants are also known in some cases with regard to the connection of the individual parts. The publication CN 111 561 438 A describes an axial foil bearing which consists of a multiplicity of individual corrugated and covering foil segments. These are arranged on a base plate and fastened thereon by rivet elements. The circular base plate which is fixed in the bearing housing has a plurality of rivet groups in the circumferential direction, each rivet group in turn consisting of a plurality of rivets arranged in the radial direction. The fan-shaped slot corrugated foil is mounted on the base plate and has a first free end at one end and a first fastening end at the other end, which is formed as a first fastening plate (planar surface) and is provided with rivet holes for the rivets of the base plate. The cover film, which is also fan-shaped, is mounted on the slot corrugated film and has a second free end at one end and a second fastening end at the other end, which fastening end is designed as a second fastening plate and is likewise provided with rivet holes for the rivets of the base plate. The cover foil consists of the upper surface area with the free end, which is connected to the fastening plate by a rampEP 4 067 680 A1 describes a pressure foil bearing, i.e. an axial foil bearing with a hump foil plate and a cover plate, wherein the connection of both plates takes place via at least one locking ring which is formed so as to extend into the through hole of the cover plate. The welding of the individual foils introduces heat which can lead to distortion of the individual parts and possibly to a deterioration of the unevenness (deterioration of the flatness of the base plate). This can have a negative effect on the function or on the spring stiffness of the foil bearings.U.S. Pat. No. 5,498,082 A shows a bidirectional axial foil bearing.KR 10 2001 0 063 913 A shows a connecting structure of an axial foil bearing.WO 2022 / 110 263 A1 discloses an axial foil bearing which is optimized with regard to its friction losses. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an improved axial foil bearing. This is achieved according to the invention by the subject matter of claims 1 and 8.This is achieved according to the invention in that the base plate has integral / one-piece / single-material domes protruding in the axial direction, which are arranged radially outside a functional region of the corrugated foil and are designed to connect the base plate to the corrugated foil and / or the cover foil to one another to form a deformation-dependent collar, wherein a clearance is present between the dome and the corrugated foil in the radial and circumferential direction. In other words, the invention relates to an axial foil bearing which consists of as few individual parts as possible, which is realized by introducing a multiplicity of spring structures into a single corrugated foil and a multiplicity of coated sliding surfaces into a single covering foil, which are connected to a base plate. The single-piece design of the two films reduces not only the number of individual parts but also the number of connecting points required. Furthermore, the connection is realized by simple rivet elements which are located directly on the base plate in the form of collars and are riveted or folded over after the corrugated and cover foil has been mounted. The base plate, the corrugated foil and the cover foil are arranged in such a way that an aerodynamic slide bearing is realized when a rotation partner is rotated or also when the bearing is rotated about a common axis.According to the invention, the domes integrally formed on the base plate are formed in the form of axial projections in a type of sheet metal rim holes or hollow rivets, wherein the wall thickness of the individual dome is advantageously formed smaller than the thickness of the base plate. Particularly preferably, the wall thickness of the respective dome is at least less than or equal to 75% of the wall thickness of the base plate, so that a forming of the dome for connecting the base plate to the corrugated foil and the cover foil can be stably realized. Alternatively, the wall thickness of the dome may be in a range of 25% to 75%.The advantage of the invention is the small number of individual parts and likewise a small number of connection points. This reduces the assembly effort. Furthermore, the connection points are all located outside the functional range. The functional region here means the circular ring surface of the corrugated foil on which the plurality of spring structures extend and over which sliding surfaces of the covering foil are arranged. As a result, the space becoming free can be used for the sliding surfaces. It is thus possible that either the number of sliding surfaces is increased or the sliding surfaces are made more optimal with regard to their dimensional dimension. An increase in the performance is thus also possible. A further advantage, in addition to the arrangement of the fastening points outside the annular functional surface and the reduction of the number of fastening points, is that the arrangement and configuration provide a radial play, as a result of which, due to mechanical influences, such as thermal influences, there is enough play in the radial and circumferential direction between the through-holes of the cover film and the outer periphery of the domes. As a result, no bracing of the foils with respect to one another occurs, as a result of which a distortion in the bearing can likewise be prevented. A further advantage of this is that the bending stiffness or spring stiffness of the films and thus the air cushion formed by the films is not adversely affected.Advantageous embodiments are claimed in the dependent claims and are explained in more detail below. The base plate and / or the corrugated foil and / or the cover foil preferably have an annularly closed contour, wherein the corrugated foil and the cover foil are preferably formed from a thin spring sheet or from a thin foil. The circular ring shape of the corrugated foil and / or of the cover foil is formed in each case by a multiplicity of circular ring segments. The corrugated foil and the cover foil preferably have through-holes which are integral and evenly distributed over the circumference or are different in angle but symmetrical, that is to say arranged on a pitch circle, with respect to a transverse axis and are aligned in such a way that they are aligned with the domes of the base plate. In this context, uniformly distributed means that the positioning of the through-holes is arranged at the same distance from one another or having a specific symmetrical distribution pattern. Ideally, the through-holes have an equal angular distance from one another, wherein the through-holes can be arranged outside the functional region as through-hole groups and the through-hole groups can have an angular difference from one another.Preferably, the base plate and / or the corrugated foil and / or the cover foil each have a flat tab on a pitch circle on their circular outer diameter, on which tab the through-holes of the respective foil or the domes of the base plate are arranged.Preferably, each individual segment of the corrugated foil consists of a corrugated spring element which has a free end at one end in the circumferential direction and at least one fixed connection in the form of one or more connection webs at the other end. This connection is firmly connected to a flat segment web formed in the radial direction. A plurality of these individual segments are arranged uniformly in the circumferential direction. The fixed connection to one another is in turn effected with at least one connecting web in each case in the circumferential direction. Ideally, an inner connecting web is located on the inner diameter and an outer connecting web on the outer diameter. Alternatively, however, a connection of the individual segments to only one connecting web running in the circumferential direction is also conceivable. For space reasons (e.g. installation space, shaft diameter, connection of the individual parts, etc.), it may be advantageous here for this to be designed as an outer connecting web on the outer diameter. The spring behavior can be adapted to the respective bearing requirements, inter alia, by the dimensional design and by the shape and number of shafts.Preferably, each individual segment of the cover foil consists of a sliding surface which has a free end at one end in the circumferential direction and a shoulder at the other end, which shoulder is in turn firmly connected to a flat segment web formed in the radial direction. A plurality of these individual segments, which must be equal to the number of corrugated foil segments, are likewise arranged uniformly in the circumferential direction. In the case of the cover film as well, the individual segments are firmly connected to at least one connecting web in the circumferential direction. Ideally, an inner connecting web is also located here on the inner diameter and an outer connecting web on the outer diameter. An alternative with only one connecting web running in the circumferential direction, as already described in the corrugated foil, is also conceivable with the cover foil. During assembly, each sliding surface in conjunction with the corrugated foil forms a wedge surface and a latching surface which are required for the function of an aerodynamic axial foil bearing. Due to the dimensional design of the shoulder height, the wedge height can be ideally and above all easily adapted to the bearing requirements. For improved wear protection, the upper side of the sliding surfaces, i.e. the sides which have contact with the rotating rotor disc, is coated with a heat-resistant slide varnish. Alternatively, in order to avoid complicated covering of the top side for partial coating, the complete top side of the cover film is coated. For the connection of the corrugated foil and the cover foil to the base plate, both foils have a plurality of through-holes. The production of such corrugated foils and cover foils ideally takes place by non-cutting processes, i.e. punching, forming, bending etc.The base plate preferably has a multiplicity of bores which are arranged on a pitch circle of the base plate and are used for fastening in a bearing housing. Alternatively, the domes in the form of bore passages serve as a fastening possibility in a bearing housing. The base plate can be produced by machining and / or non-machining. For a cost-effective embodiment, a chipless production is preferred, in which the mold and the fastening holes are punched out. The domes can be produced by collar drawing as sheet metal rim holes, so-called collars. The optionally required undercut can be embossed. The invention further relates to a method for assembling an axial foil bearing according to the invention, in particular an axial foil bearing according to the invention, according to the preceding features. The assembly method comprises three essential steps:In a first step, a corrugated foil, which has a plurality of corrugated spring structures, is arranged in the axial direction on a base plate, so that the central axes and a plurality of through holes of the corrugated foil are congruent with a dome of the base plate in each case. For a better alignment or as an alignment aid, additional positioning aids, for example in the form of cutouts, which are arranged congruently on all foils, can be provided if necessary. In a second step, the cover film is arranged on the corrugated film in the axial direction such that the central axes and a plurality of through-holes of the cover film are congruent with the plurality of through-holes of the corrugated film.In a third and last step, the shape of the protruding part of the respective mandrel is changed, so that the corrugated foil and the cover foil are held on the base plate in the stacking direction / axial direction. Thus, the axial foil bearing can no longer fall apart. Furthermore, the domes in the form of sheet metal passages in conjunction with the through-holes ensure the correct alignment of the corrugated and cover sheets with respect to one another. This ensures that the sliding surfaces of the cover film are correctly positioned over the wave-shaped spring elements of the corrugated film and that the functionally important wedge and latching surfaces can thereby be generated. The invention is also explained in more detail below with the aid of a drawing. The following are shown: FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a first exemplary embodiment; FIG. 2 shows an exploded view of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a first exemplary embodiment; FIG. 3 shows two possible embodiments of a dome of a base plate of the axial foil bearing according to the invention; FIG. 4 shows an assembly method according to the invention of an axial foil bearing according to the invention; FIG. 5 shows the second step of the assembly method according to the invention; FIG. 6 shows the third step of the assembly method according to the invention; FIG. 7 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a second exemplary embodiment; FIG. 8 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a third exemplary embodiment; FIG. 9 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a fourth exemplary embodiment; FIG. 10 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing according to the invention according to a fifth exemplary embodiment; and FIG. 11 shows a schematic illustration of a variation of an axial foil bearing according to the invention. The figures are merely schematic in nature and serve exclusively for understanding the invention. The same elements are provided with the same reference numerals.FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of an axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention according to a first exemplary embodiment. The axial foil bearing 1 has a base plate on which bores 13, preferably three bores 13, are arranged in its radial outer surface. The cover film 5 has a total of 6 circle segments 9, which serve as a sliding surface 15. For the connection of the individual parts, the base plate 2 has domes 6, which in their embodiment resemble a hollow rivet or bolt rim rim hole and are configured in one piece with the base plate 2. The domes 6 must lie on the same pitch circle diameter as the through-holes 7 of the corrugated foil 3 and of the cover foil 5 and must be arranged with the same division. For the connection of the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5 to the base plate 2, these two foils must have through-holes 7. On the individual foils, a plurality (but at least 3) of through-holes 7 are arranged on a pitch circle. The pitch circle for the through-holes 7 must be at least so large that the closing heads of the domes 6 that are produced during the later assembly do not stand into the functional region of the sliding surfaces 15 or the pitch circle must be so large that a distance is present between the outer diameter of the sliding surfaces 15 and the closing heads, so that these are outside the active region of the sliding surfaces 15 and rotor disk. For the through-holes 7, both the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5 have flat tabs 9 on their circular outer diameters, in each of which there is a through-hole 7. Thus, for each film, the tab count is equal to the through hole count. The positions of the through-holes 7 on the two foils must be selected such that they are congruent after the assembly and that the alignment of the two foils with respect to one another required for the bearing function is ensured.FIG. 2 shows an exploded view of an axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention according to the first exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1.From top to bottom, i.e. counter to the axial direction, the cover film 5, the corrugated film 3 and the base plate 2 are shown. The corrugated foil 3 has a total of 6 individual segments / circle segments 9, each of which consists of a corrugated spring element 4, which has a free end at one end in the circumferential direction and at least one fixed connection in the form of a connection web / connection web 14 at the other end. This connection is firmly connected to a flat segment web formed in the radial direction. A plurality of these individual segments / circle segments 9 are arranged uniformly in the circumferential direction. The fixed connection to one another is in turn effected with in each case at least one connecting web 10 in the circumferential direction. Ideally, an inner connecting web 11 is located on the inner diameter and an outer connecting web 12 on the outer diameter. Alternatively, however, a connection of the individual segments / circle segments 9 with only one connecting web running in the circumferential direction is also conceivable. For space reasons (e.g. installation space, shaft diameter, connection of the individual parts, etc.), it may be advantageous here for this to be designed as an outer connecting web 12 on the outer diameter. The spring behavior can be adapted to the respective bearing requirements, inter alia, by the dimensional design and by the shape and number of shafts. The cover film 5 likewise has a total of 6 individual segments / circle segments 9, each of which consists of a sliding surface 15 which has a free end at one end in the circumferential direction and a shoulder 16 at the other end, which shoulder is in turn firmly connected to a flat segment web formed in the radial direction. A plurality of these individual segments / circle segments 9, which must be equal to the number of corrugated foil segments, is likewise arranged uniformly in the circumferential direction. In the case of the cover film 5 as well, the individual segments / circle segments 9 are firmly connected to at least one connecting web 10 in the circumferential direction. Ideally, an inner connecting web 11 is also located here on the inner diameter and an outer connecting web 12 on the outer diameter. An alternative with only one connecting web running in the circumferential direction, as already described in the corrugated foil, is also conceivable in the case of the cover foil 5. During assembly, each sliding surface 15 forms, in conjunction with corrugated foil 3, a wedge surface 17 and a latching surface 18, which are required for the function of an aerodynamic axial foil bearing. Due to the dimensional design of the shoulder height, the wedge height can be ideally and above all easily adapted to the bearing requirements. For improved wear protection, the upper side of the sliding surfaces 15, i.e. the sides which have contact with the rotating rotor disc, is coated with a heat-resistant slide varnish. Alternatively, in order to avoid complicated covering of the top side for partial coating, the complete top side of the cover film 5 is coated. For the connection of the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5 to the base plate 2, both foils have a plurality of through-holes 7.The base plate 2 has a total of three bores 13 which are arranged on a pitch circle of the base plate 2 and serve for fastening in a bearing housing. Alternatively, the domes 6 in the form of bore passages serve as a fastening possibility in a bearing housing.Alternatively, for the introduction of the through holes 7, the outer diameter of the outer connecting webs 12 can be enlarged. Thus, the foils have a circular and uninterrupted outer diameter. However, in such a case additional bores 13 must be provided for the fastening of the axial foil bearing in a bearing housing.FIG. 3 shows two possible embodiments of a dome 6 of a base plate 2 of the axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention. In the upper part of FIG. 3, a dome 6 is shown, which is designed as a hollow rivet or sheet metal rim hole. The wall thickness of the dome 6 is here configured to be thinner, preferably less than or equal to 75%, of the thickness of the base plate 2.In the lower part of FIG. 3, a dome 6 is shown, in which a undercut 19 is provided on the side on which the corrugated foil 3 and cover foil 5 are mounted.FIG. 4 shows an assembly method according to the invention of an axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention. For the sake of simplicity, only the essential individual components of the axial foil bearing are used to describe the assembly method.During assembly, the corrugated foil 3 is oriented above the base plate 2 in such a way that both central axes and also the domes, in the form of hollow rivets or sheet metal rim holes 6, are congruent with the through holes 7. In this aligned position, the corrugated foil 3 is placed on the base plate 2. The cover foil 5 is then aligned over the corrugated foil 3 in such a way that the central axes and the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 are also congruent with the through holes 7. In this aligned position, the cover film 5 is placed on the corrugated film 3. A layered structure of the axial foil bearing 1 is thus produced in the stacking direction, i.e. in the axial direction, and the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 pass through the through holes 7 and project beyond the surface of the cover foil 5 by a defined distance. During assembly, care must be taken to ensure that the individual parts are placed one on top of the other correctly. The projecting part of the domes / sheet metal rim holes 7 is subsequently riveted / folded over. As a result, the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5 are held on the base plate 2 in the stacking direction and the axial foil bearing 1 can no longer fall apart.Furthermore, the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 in conjunction with the through holes 7 ensure the correct alignment of the corrugated foil 3 and cover foil 5 with respect to one another. This ensures that the sliding surfaces 15 of the cover film 5 are correctly positioned over the wave-shaped spring elements 4 of the corrugated film 3 and that the functionally important wedge surfaces 17 and latching surfaces 18 can thereby be generated.FIG. 5 shows the second step of the assembly method according to the invention, in which the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5 are already arranged on the base plate 2. An upper detailed view shows a dome 6 which projects beyond the surface of the cover film 5. In the lower detailed view, a dome 6 is shown, likewise projecting beyond the surface of the cover film 5, wherein the dome 6 has a undercut 19.FIG. 6 shows the third step of the assembly method according to the invention, in which the forming of the mandrel 6 has already taken place. Depending on the requirement, the connection points can be provided in the axial direction without play (according to the upper detailed view of FIG. 6 ) or with play (according to the lower detailed view of FIG. 6 ). A design with axial play between the foils 3, 5 and the closing heads of the domes 6 represents an additional safety measure for avoiding bracing of the individual parts with respect to one another. In cases with axial play, a clearance of the individual parts in the axial direction can be ensured again by a specific axial prestress of the axial foil bearings 1 in the assembly. The prestress eliminates this play and ensures that the individual parts are pressed onto one another and thus for the production of the functionally important wedge-shaped parts 17 and latching surfaces 18.FIGS. 7 to 10 show further exemplary embodiments of the axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention with the identical individual components. Therefore, only the differences are illustrated. The individual embodiments are distinguished in principle by the embodiment of the outer contour of the base plate 2, the corrugated foil 3 and the cover foil 5, and the number and arrangement of the dome 6 and through-holes 7.The angular division of the through-holes 7 and the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 is generally effected uniformly on the identical pitch circle diameters. However, an uneven position distribution can also be chosen, i.e. patterned regularly on the circumference of the pitch circle diameters. By selecting a different position distribution between the axial foil bearings 1 for the clockwise direction of rotation and the axial foil bearings 1 for the counter-clockwise direction of rotation, mismounting in the assembly can be prevented, for example. The through-hole diameters must be designed with respect to play between the cylindrical surfaces of the through-holes 7 and the lateral surfaces of the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 in such a way that the foils are not braced after assembly, due to inaccuracies in shape and position or shape errors. The position in the circumferential direction or the number of connection points can also be freely selected depending on the customer and functional requirements. However, it should be at least three joints. Thus, one connection point ensures alignment, another connection point ensures rotational fixation, and the remainder acts as additional fixations. If necessary, the individual through hole diameters can be designed with different games. Depending on the dimensional tolerances as well as the shape and position tolerances, a small play can be designed for the alignment and rotational fixing and a larger play can be designed to avoid forcing for the remainder. In such a case, however, the paired through holes 7 of the individual sheets should be aligned with each other at the time of assembly. This means that the through holes 7 are arranged one above the other with the same clearance. In order that this correct orientation of position can be ensured more easily during assembly, positioning aids in the form of, for example, bores 13, grooves etc. can be applied to the corrugated foil 3 and cover foil 5 in such a case. It is also possible to realize the different clearances between the cylindrical surfaces of the through-holes 7 and the lateral surfaces of the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 with the aid of different outer diameters of the individual domes / sheet metal rim holes 6. Thus, all through hole diameters can be designed to be the same and an additional positional orientation during assembly is not required.FIG. 11 shows a schematic illustration of a variation of an axial foil bearing 1 according to the invention. Two identically constructed axial foil bearings 1 according to the invention are shown, which are to be connected to one another in the axial direction or are to be fastened to a bearing housing. The inner diameters of the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6 can be used for mounting the axial foil bearing 1 in a bearing housing or for stacking a plurality of axial foil bearings 1. In this variant, the screws or pins 20 are guided directly through the inner diameter of the domes / sheet metal rim holes 6. In such cases, the additional bores 13, which in the other design variants must be present at least on the base plate 2 and serve as mounting bores, can be dispensed with.A combination of the different embodiments / detailed solutions of the design variants is possible. The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown in the figures. The foregoing description is, therefore, not to be considered as limiting, but illustrative. The following claims should be understood to mean that a said feature is present in at least one embodiment of the invention. This does not exclude the presence of further features. If the patent claims and the above description define "first" and "second" features, this designation serves to distinguish two (for example) features of the same type without specifying a ranking.List of reference characters1 Axial foil bearing 2 Base plate 3 Corrugated foil 4 Corrugated spring structures 5 Covering foil 6 Dome 7 Through-holes 8 Tab 9 Circle segments 10 Connecting web 11 Radially inner connecting web 12 Radially outer connecting web 13 Bore 14 Connecting web 15 Sliding surface 16 Shoulder 17 Wedge surface 18 Latching surface 19 Undercut 20 Pin
