Abstract
Description
Field of invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a water flow switching device and in particular a water flow switching device for sprinklers, which discloses an innovative design. State of the art
[0002] In conventional sprinkler designs, switching the water spray angle range is usually done by means of a water flow switching device.
[0003] Conventional water flow control devices mainly comprise two types: rocker switches and pendulum switches. Regardless of the type used, practical experience has shown that several problems and disadvantages still exist. Common issues include cumbersome installation and high costs (including manufacturing and material costs) due to the large number of components.
[0004] Further problems arise from the improper switching of components, which prevents the water flow from being correctly reversed and significantly reduces the device's lifespan. This is indeed a significant technical issue that needs to be addressed and deserves the attention of the relevant industries.
[0005] From DE 10 2006 921 053 A1, an automatic water inlet switching device for a pivoting sprinkler is known. This water inlet switching device comprises a sprinkler control and actuation unit with a paddle-equipped gear set housed therein, which interacts with a water inlet switching device that includes an operating unit and a movable pivot seat. The base of the movable pivot seat is provided with two opposing water outlet holes and two water stops, which are arranged on a coupling unit with a centrally located, dimensionally limited, cavity-forming space. An actuating rod of the control unit can be operated inside this space, wherein the water inlet switch actuation is limited in the pivot angle of the actuating rod in the space and the actuating rod moves against the impact surface to generate a build-up force so that the movable pivot seat springs back instantly upon actuation, regardless of whether the water pressure is high or low.
[0006] DE 20 2007 013 051 U1 relates to a switching device for the water flow of a gear-type splitter, wherein a main body of the gear-type splitter has a water outlet section, a water inlet section, and a receiving chamber, with a gear unit and a switching device for the water flow being arranged in the receiving chamber. The switching device for the water flow (40) has a pivotable switching seat, a sliding shaft, and a coupling element. The pivotable switching seat serves to switch the water inlet and outlet of the two water outlets (21, 22). The sliding shaft is arranged on the lower wall of the receiving chamber. The coupling element is arranged between the sliding shaft and the pivotable switching seat.At the points in the receiving chamber corresponding to the two water outlets, an additional raised frame is arranged, in which two lateral cavities are formed, each corresponding to the two water outlets, so that the pivot bearing of the swiveling changeover seat is articulated in the center of the raised frame. The post-shaped swiveling changeover seat has two opposing locking surfaces which, adapted to the different pivot directions of the swiveling changeover seat, block and seal the cavity or the raised frame. [0013] It will be directed to the Fig. Reference is made to Figures 1 to 8, which show a preferred embodiment of the water flow switching device for sprinklers according to the invention. The following description explains only one embodiment of the invention and is not intended to limit the claims.
[0014] The water flow switching device 100 is arranged in the limiting base 11 of the control module 10 of a sprinkler and serves to switch the direction of water flow. The limiting base 11 comprises a partition plate 12 for separating a gear chamber 13 and a reversing wheel chamber 14, wherein the partition plate 12 is provided with a first channel 21 and a second channel 22, which are each continuously connected to the gear chamber 13 and the reversing wheel chamber 14, a pivot positioning section 23 is provided in the partition plate 12 between the first channel 21 and the second channel 22, the gear chamber 13 has an end wall 15 spaced apart from the partition plate 12, a spray angle control arrangement 30 is arranged on the outside of the end wall 15, and the gear chamber 13 is further provided with a pivot seat section 16. The water flow switching device 100 comprises the following: a projecting pivot rod 40, which has a driven end 41,a pivoting end 42 and a pivoting support section 43 located between the driven end 41 and the pivoting end 42, wherein the driven end 41 projects from the end wall 15, corresponds to and interacts with the spray angle control arrangement 30 and moves with it, the pivoting end 42 is located in the gear chamber 13 and the pivoting support section 43 is combined with the pivot seat section 16, whereby the pivoting end 42 is pivotable about the pivot seat section 16 which serves as a pivot point between a first pivot position and a second pivot position; a water blocking plate 50 which is arranged in the gear chamber 13, wherein one end of the water blocking plate 50 has a first stop section 51, a second stop section 52 and a locking section 53 located between the first stop section 51 and the second stop section 52, the first stop section 51 corresponding with the first channel 21,the second stop section 52 corresponds to the second channel 22, the locking section 53 corresponds to the pivot positioning section 23, and the other end of the water blocking plate 50 is provided with a combination end 54; a pivot joint 60, which is arranged between the combination end 54 of the water blocking plate 50 and the pivot end 42 of the projecting pivot rod 40, and has a projecting section 61 and a recessed section 62, which are combinable with each other and rotatable relative to each other, wherein the axis X of the projecting section 61 and the axis Y of the projecting pivot rod 40 are orthogonal to each other, wherein, through the pivot joint 60, when the pivot end 42 of the projecting pivot rod 40 is in the first pivot position, the first stop section 51 of the water blocking plate 50 can abut the first channel 21 and close it, and, when the pivoting end 42 is in the second pivot position, the second stop section 52 of the water blocking plate 50 can rest against the second channel 22 and close it.
[0015] According to the above-described structure and technical features, the practical applications of the water flow switching device for sprinklers according to the invention are described in the Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 shown. When the driven end 14 of the projecting pivot rod 40 is pressed through the spray angle control arrangement 30 (as indicated by arrow L1) and the pivot end 42 is in the first pivot position, the first stop section 51 of the water blocking plate 50 moves with the pivot joint 60 and comes to rest against the first channel 21. At this point, the second channel 22 is inserted into the reversing wheel chamber 14 to drive the impeller 70 located therein to rotate counterclockwise (as indicated by arrow L2), with a gear set 80 arranged in the gear chamber 13 (see Fig. 2) is driven by the impeller 70 in such a way that it drives the limiting base 11 to rotate. During this process, the relative rotational angular alignment between the limiting base 11 and the spray angle control assembly 30 is changed. When the limiting base 11 is rotated into the predetermined position of the spray angle control assembly 30, the driven end 41 of the projecting pivot rod 40 is pressed through the spray angle control assembly 30. Since the transmission relationship between the impeller 70, the gear set 80, and the spray angle control assembly 30 is part of conventional sprinkler technology and there are many specific implementation methods, and it is not within the scope of the present invention, it will not be described in detail. Reference is then made to the Fig. 6 and Fig. 7. When the driven end 41 of the protruding pivot rod 40 is pressed by the spray angle control arrangement 30 (as indicated by arrow L3) and the pivot end 42 is in the second pivot position, the second stop section 52 of the water blocking plate 50 moves with the pivot joint 60 and comes to rest against the second channel 22. At this point, the first channel 21 is inserted into the reversing wheel chamber 14 to drive the impeller 70 located therein to rotate clockwise (as indicated by arrow L4), thereby fulfilling the functional requirement of water flow switching. Regardless of when the pivot end 42 reaches the first or second pivot position in the actuation state described above, the locking section 53 engages accordingly with the pivot positioning section 23 to produce a certain degree of positioning effect. In contrast to conventional technology, the water flow switching device according to the invention consists of the projecting pivot rod 40 and the water blocking plate 50, which are combined by the pivot joint 60. This results in highly streamlined components and thus significantly reduces manufacturing, assembly, and material costs. Furthermore, the switching process is carried out correctly by the movement of the projecting section 61 and the recessed section 62 of the pivot joint 60. The rotatable and flexible nature of the pivot joint 60 effectively avoids problems associated with improper actuation (such as jamming, incomplete engagement, and incomplete locking), thereby providing the advantages of reliable water flow reversal and effectively extending the service life of the device.
[0016] It will be on Fig. 3. Reference is made to this. In the present embodiment, the water-blocking plate 50 further comprises two elastic arms 55, 56 in a forked configuration, such that the first stop section 51 and the second stop section 52 are each connected to one end of the two elastic arms 55, 56. With this implementation, when the first stop section 51 or the second stop section 52 performs the engagement process, the improved elastic support properties of the two elastic arms 55, 56 result in a tighter fit.
[0017] It will be on Fig. 3. Reference is made to this. In the present embodiment, the pivot joint 60 further comprises two symmetrical, spaced-apart, elastic clamps 63, wherein the two elastic clamps 63 are connected to the combination end 54 of the water-blocking plate 50 and bear elastically against two sides of the pivot end 42 of the projecting pivot rod 40, thereby achieving a certain elastic limitation of the pivoting of the pivot joint 60. This advantage consists in the fact that, regardless of whether the first stop section 51 of the water-blocking plate 50 bears against the first channel 21 or the second stop section 52 against the second channel 22, an elastic pressing effect is achieved in the contact state by the elastic limitation of the pivot joint 60 by the two elastic clamps 63, thereby ensuring a tighter and more reliable fit.
[0018] It will be on Fig. 3. Reference is made to this. In the present embodiment, two slots 57 are provided on two sides of the locking section 53 of the water blocking plate 50, with an elastic plate 58 arranged between the two slots 57 and the locking section 53 being located on the elastic plate 58, thereby further improving the elasticity when the locking section 53 engages. In this way, when the locking section 53 and the pivot positioning section 23 are brought into engagement with each other, the problem of difficult passing by can be effectively avoided, and thus a better and smoother engagement can be achieved.
[0019] It will be on Fig. 3 Reference is made to this. In the present embodiment, the forward section 61 of the pivot joint 60 has the form of an axle, wherein the recessed section 62 has a corresponding axle hole.
[0020] It will be on Fig. 3 Reference is made to this. In the present embodiment, the pivot seat section 16 of the gearbox chamber 13 has the shape of a hollow tube and the pivot support section 43 combined with the pivot seat section 16 has the shape of an elastic ring in order to achieve pivotability and watertightness.
[0021] It will be on Fig. Reference is made to Section 8. In the present embodiment, an included angle θ is provided between the first stop section 51 and the first channel 21 in a state in which the two are not in contact with each other, wherein the included angle θ lies between 5° and 12°. The relationship between the second stop section 52 and the second channel 22 is the same.
