Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to rotary tables in the field of spark erosion, in particular a brush module for rotary tables. [State of the art]

[0002] The rotary table in the field of electrical discharge machining is a non-contact microfabrication equipment that can run in liquid at high speed and is suitable for high-performance electrical discharge machining, guide wire cutting, laser, etc. to manufacture automotive, semiconductor, medical and other precision parts.

[0003] The turntable essentially consists of a turntable and a brush module on the housing. Furthermore, the brush module is in electrical contact with the annular edge of the turntable, ensuring that the turntable remains electrically conductive during rotation. However, such brush modules are currently poorly designed. This results in the brush module's brushes vibrating heavily at high turntable speeds, shaking, slipping, and touching the wires, which in turn damages the annular edge of the turntable and causes poor conductivity of the turntable.

[0004] Regarding the design of the electrical contact between the brush module and the conductor, reference can be made to a carbon brush assembly and an electric motor with such a carbon brush assembly, which is disclosed in Chinese Patent Publication No. CN217720205U. However, the elastic damping assembly in the aforementioned patent consists of a support spring and a damping element. Furthermore, the elastic damping assembly is only placed against a single side of a carbon brush box on a single side. This design with only a single damping direction can lead to excessive friction between the carbon brush and the box, which can damage the carbon brush or cause the brush and box to lock together. Reference is also made to a carbon brush assembly for vacuum cleaner motors, which is disclosed in Chinese Patent Publication No. CN215870142U.In the patented precedent, the steel balls of the bearing surround the electrodes. If the brush tilts sideways due to the high-speed operation of the contact object, this can easily lead to extrusion of the outer ring of the bearing sleeve and the sleeve, resulting in the defect of the steel ball being clamped and self-locked.

[0005] In addition, JP 2001 - 245 458 A discloses an electric motor and a power steering system using this motor. A box-shaped brush holder accommodates a brush that contacts a commutator mounted on a rotor, allowing the brush to move toward the commutator.

[0006] DE 31 42 879 A1 discloses a sliding contact device for electrical machines with at least one carbon brush which is guided in a box-shaped holder and with a U-shaped leaf spring whose legs press against the carbon brush.

[0007] DE 10 2005 058 833 A1 discloses a hand-held power tool with an electric motor, which comprises a commutator rotatable about a rotation axis, a brush unit with at least one brush, a support body for supporting the brush unit and a decoupling means which is intended to counteract a transmission of a vibration of at least a part of the brush unit caused by a rotation of the commutator transversely to the radial direction to the support body.

[0008] From CN 2 17 720 205 U a carbon brush arrangement and a motor with the carbon brush arrangement are known, wherein the carbon brush arrangement comprises a carbon brush, a carbon brush spring and a carbon brush box, the carbon brush and the carbon brush spring are installed in the carbon brush box, the front end of the carbon brush protrudes from the carbon brush box, the lateral end of the carbon brush box is provided with an elastic damping arrangement and the elastic damping arrangement is arranged in the carbon brush box. [Task of the invention]

[0009] The object of the invention is to provide a brush module for a turntable which solves one of the above-mentioned problems.

[0010] To achieve the stated object, the invention provides a brush module for a turntable, which comprises the following elements: a housing with a receiving trough, wherein the receiving trough has a first trough wall, a second trough wall facing the first trough wall, a trough bottom surface between the first trough wall and the second trough wall, and a trough opening facing the trough bottom surface, a brush unit with a brush body, a guide wire, and a spring body, wherein the brush body is arranged in the receiving trough and has a first side facing the first trough wall, a second side facing the second trough wall, an end surface facing the trough bottom surface, and a contact surface opposite the end surface, the guide wire is threaded through the housing, the spring body is placed over the guide wire and rests against the surface between the trough bottom surface and the end surface to generate a thrust force for displacing the brush body in the direction of the trough opening, a first support holding unit arranged in the housing, this support holding unit comprising a first spring element and a first support holding element, the first support holding element being supported against the first side of the brush body and generating a first counterforce from this first trough wall in the direction of the second trough wall, further a second support holding unit arranged in the housing, this support holding unit comprising a second spring element and a second support holding element, the second support holding element being supported against the second side of the brush body and generating a second counterforce from this second trough wall in the direction of the first trough wall.

[0011] The present invention is effective due to the following construction. Since the first and second support holding units are correspondingly arranged in the housing, the first and second counter forces are applied to the brush body. This counteracts the lateral thrust generated by the friction between the brush body and the turntable of the turntable. [Ways of carrying out the invention]

[0024] Before the invention is described in detail, it should be noted that in the following description, similar elements and parts are identified by the same numbers.

[0025] See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. The first embodiment of the invention provides a brush module for a turntable. The brush module is available in two assemblies and is suitable for installation on the turntable 10. The turntable 10 has a table 11 and a turntable 12 rotatably mounted on the table 11, with an annular edge 121. In the following, the brush module will be explained in only one sentence. As shown in Fig. 3 to Fig. 5B, the brush module mainly includes a housing 20, a brush unit A, a first support holding unit 61, and a second support holding unit 62.

[0026] The housing 20 is firmly attached to the table 11 and is formed by screwing a first housing element 20A and a second housing element 20B together using the screw 20C. Furthermore, the housing 20 has a receiving recess 21. The receiving recess 21 has a first recess wall 211, a second recess wall 212 facing the first recess wall 211, a recess bottom surface 213 between the first recess wall 211 and the second recess wall 212, and a recess opening 214 facing the recess bottom surface 213. According to the embodiment, the housing 20 further has a first side hole 215 through the first recess wall 211, a second side hole 216 through the second recess wall 212, and a through hole 217 through the recess bottom surface 213.

[0027] The brush unit A comprises a brush body 30, a guide wire 40 and a spring body 50.

[0028] The brush body 30 is arranged in the receiving recess 21 of the housing 20 and is not in contact with the receiving recess 21. The brush body 30 has a first side 31 facing the first recess wall 211, a second side 32 facing the second recess wall 212, an end surface 33 facing the recess bottom surface 213, and a contact surface 34 opposite the end surface 33. The contact surface 34 is in electrical contact with the annular edge 121 of the turntable 12. According to the embodiment, the first side 31 is provided with a longitudinally extending first limiting groove 311, and the second side 32 is provided with a longitudinally extending second limiting groove 321. The cross section of the first limiting groove 311 and the cross section of the second limiting groove 321 have a circular arc.

[0029] The guide wire 40 is threaded through the through-hole 217 of the housing 20. Furthermore, the guide wire has an insulating portion 41 in the receiving recess 21 and a conductive portion 42 located further inside the receiving recess than the insulating portion, which is in electrical contact with the brush body 30.

[0030] The spring body 50 is placed over the insulating section 41 and bears against the surface between the trough bottom surface 213 and the end surface 33 to generate a thrust force for displacing the brush body 30 toward the trough opening 214. The contact surface 34 of the brush body 30 is thereby permanently in electrical contact with the annular edge 121 of the rotary plate 12. According to the embodiment, the spring body 50 is designed as a compression spring and has a first end section 51 supported against the trough bottom surface 213 and a second end section 52 supported against the end surface 33.

[0031] The first support holding unit 61 is arranged in the housing 20. In addition, the first support holding unit further comprises a first body 611 fixedly mounted in the first side hole 215 on the housing 20, a first spring element 612 arranged in the first body 611, and a first support holding element 613 arranged in the first body 611 and supported by the first spring element 612. The first support holding element 613 partially protrudes from the first body 611 and rests against the first limiting groove 311 on the first side 31 of the brush body 30. The first support holding unit 61 generates a first counterforce against the brush body 30 from the first trough wall 211 toward the second trough wall 212. The first spring element 612 is designed as a spring according to the embodiment, but is not limited thereto and can also be designed as other materials with flexible restoring force.

[0032] The second support holding unit 62 is arranged in the housing 20. In addition, the second support holding unit further comprises a second body 621 fixedly mounted in the second side hole 216 on the housing 20, a second spring element 622 arranged in the second body 621, and a second support holding element 623 arranged in the second body 621 and supported by the second spring element 622. The second support holding element 623 partially protrudes from the second body 621 and rests against the second limiting groove 321 on the second side 32 of the brush body 30. The second support holding unit 62 generates a second counterforce against the brush body 30 from the second trough wall 212 in the direction of the first trough wall 211. The second spring element 622 is designed as a spring according to the embodiment, but is not limited thereto and can also be designed as other materials with flexible restoring force.

[0033] The assembly of the respective main components in the first embodiment of the invention is explained above. The effectiveness of the invention will be explained below.

[0034] First, good electrical contact is maintained between the brush body 30 and the plate 12. In the present invention, since the first and second support units 61 and 62 are disposed on the housing 20 on both sides of the brush body 30, the first and second counterforces are applied to the brush body 30. This counteracts the lateral thrust generated by friction between the brush body 30 and the turntable 12 of the turntable 10. As a result, vibration, shaking, slipping, and contact of the wires of the brush body 30 at high rotational speeds of the turntable 12 are greatly reduced, which can prevent damage to the annular edge 121 of the turntable 12 and maintain good electrical contact between the brush body 30 and the turntable 12.

[0035] Secondly, the automatic return of the brush body 30 to its original center position is made possible. The first side 31 and the second side 32 of the brush body 30 are each provided with a first limiting groove 311 and a second limiting groove 321, the cross sections of which each have a circular arc. In addition, the first support holding element 613 of the first support holding unit 61 and the second support holding element 623 of the second support holding unit 62 are each held against the circular arc-shaped first limiting groove 311 and the circular arc-shaped second limiting groove 321. Therefore, the brush body 30 is not only subjected to the first counterforce and the second counterforce by the first support holding unit 61 and the second support holding unit 62. By mutually limiting the circular arc-shaped first limiting groove 311 in conjunction with the first support holding element 613 andThe circular-arc second limiting groove 321 in conjunction with the second support holding element 623 also enables the brush body 30 to automatically return to its original center position. This avoids the problem of burnout of the motor of the turntable 10 (not shown in the figure) due to excessive friction between the brush body 30 and the turntable 12 caused by the tipping of the brush body 30. Other problems such as vibration, tilting, and jamming between the housing 20, the first support holding unit 61, the second support holding unit 62, and the brush body 30 are also avoided. In this way, the friction between the brush body 30 and the turntable 12 is effectively reduced, thereby reducing the drive current of the turntable 10 and achieving energy savings.

[0036] It is worth noting that the cross section of the first limiting groove 311 of the brush body 30 has a circular arc, and the radius of the first limiting groove 311 is approximately 2% larger than that of the first support holding element 613. The cross section of the second limiting groove 321 of the brush body 30 has a circular arc, and the radius of the second limiting groove 321 is approximately 2% larger than that of the second support holding element 623. This ensures that the automatic return of the brush body 30 to its original center position is enabled.

[0037] Furthermore, the spring constant of this spring body 50 is K1. The spring constants of the first spring element 612 and the second spring element 622 are K2. The compression of the spring body 50 is X1. The compression of the first spring element 612 and the second spring element 622 is X23. In addition, the following condition is satisfied: K2 / K1=X1 / (20*X23). If the above conditions are satisfied, it is possible to limit the amplitude of the vibration of the brush body 30 at high speeds of the turntable 12 to prevent a collision between the brush body 30 and the receiving recess 21 of the housing 20 due to excessive vibration of the brush body 30.

[0038] See Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B. The second embodiment of the invention provides a brush module for a turntable. The differences of the second embodiment are explained in the following paragraph.

[0039] The brush body 30 further includes a third side 35 connecting the first side 31 to the second side 32, a mounting recess 36 recessed from the end surface 33, and a fill hole 37 extending through the third side 35 and communicating with the mounting recess 36. The conductive portion 42 of the guide wire 40 is inserted into the mounting recess 36, and the fill hole 37, the mounting recess 36, and the conductive portion 42 are filled with a conductive material 100, such as, but not limited to, tin. According to the embodiment, the mounting recess 36 of the brush body 30 is designed as a threaded recess. A wire end ferrule 43 is tightly placed over the conductive portion 42 of the guide wire 40 and screwed into the mounting recess 36.

[0040] Accordingly, during assembly of the guide wire 40 and the brush body 30, the conductive material 100 can be pre-welded to the outside of the wire end sleeve 43 and then inserted or screwed into the mounting recess 36 of the brush body 30. Immediately thereafter, the conductive material 100 is additionally removed and heated to a molten state so that it can flow into the mounting recess 36 through the filler hole 37 of the brush body 30. This is fused with the conductive material 100 on the wire end sleeve 43 of the guide wire 40 and cooled into a single unit. This electrically connects the guide wire 40 to the brush body 30, thereby improving its tensile strength. When it is necessary to replace the brush body 30, a heating tool is used to heat the conductive material 100 in the filling hole 37 of the brush body 30 and bring the conductive material 100 into a molten state. The guide wire 40 and the brush body 30 can then be rotated and separated to replace the brush body 30. This allows the guide wire 40 to be recycled and reused, thereby achieving an environmentally friendly effect.

[0041] See Fig. 7 and Fig. 8. The third embodiment of the invention provides a brush module for a turntable. The differences from the second embodiment are explained in the following paragraph.

[0042] The housing 20 further comprises a third trough wall 218 and a fourth trough wall 219, wherein the third trough wall lies between the first and second trough walls 211 and 212 and the fourth trough wall faces the third trough wall 218.

[0043] The brush body 30 further comprises a third side 35 and a fourth side 38, wherein the third side lies between the first side 31 and the second side 32 and faces the third trough wall 218, and the fourth side is opposite the third side 35. According to the embodiment, the third side 35 is provided with a third delimiting groove 351, and the fourth side 38 is provided with a fourth delimiting groove 381.

[0044] The brush module of the turntable 10 further comprises a third support holding unit 63 and a fourth support holding unit 64.

[0045] The third support holding unit 63 is arranged in the housing 20. In addition, the third support holding unit further comprises a third body 631 fixedly attached to the housing 20, a third spring element 632 arranged in the third body 631, and a third support holding element 633 arranged in the third body 631 and supported by the third spring element 632. The third support holding element 633 partially protrudes from the third body 631 and rests against the third limiting groove 351 on the third side 35 of the brush body 30. The third support holding unit 63 generates a third counterforce against the brush body 30 from the third trough wall 218 in the direction of the fourth trough wall 219. The third spring element 632 is designed as a spring according to the embodiment, but is not limited thereto and can also be designed as other materials with flexible restoring force.

[0046] The fourth support holding unit 64 is arranged in the housing 20. In addition, the fourth support holding unit 64 further comprises a fourth body 641 fixedly attached to the housing 20, a fourth spring element 642 arranged in the fourth body 641, and a fourth support holding element 643 arranged in the fourth body 641 and supported by the fourth spring element 642. The fourth support holding element 643 partially protrudes from the fourth body 641 and rests against the fourth limiting groove 381 on the fourth side 38 of the brush body 30. The fourth support holding unit 64 generates a fourth counterforce against the brush body 30 from the fourth trough wall 219 in the direction of the third trough wall 218. The fourth spring element 642 is designed as a spring according to the embodiment, but is not limited thereto and can also be designed as other materials with flexible restoring force.

[0047] Accordingly, the construction of the third support holding unit 63, the fourth support holding unit 64, the first support holding unit 61, and the second support holding unit 62 supports the brush body 30 in the front, rear, left, and right directions by a counterforce, thereby better automatically centering the brush body 30. As a result, problems such as vibration, shaking, slipping, brush body wire contact, tilting, and jamming at high rotational speeds of the turntable can be greatly alleviated.

[0048] See Fig. 9. The fourth embodiment of the invention provides a brush module for a turntable. The differences from the second embodiment are explained in the following paragraph.
