Description

[0001] The invention relates to a toothed pulley for receiving a toothed belt, in particular for a vehicle, preferably for a motorcycle, with teeth and with at least one central web which connects the individual teeth with adjacent teeth around the toothed pulley.

[0002] Timing belts and pulleys have been used in many technologies for many years, for example, in conjunction with stepper motors. Timing belts also replace chains, for example, in bicycles and motorcycles.

[0003] Especially on motorcycles, it is important to ensure that the timing belt does not run off the associated pulleys. Lateral offset of the guided timing belt must be prevented; for this purpose, a so-called center bar has already been proposed in the prior art. This center bar can be used for a slotted timing belt; the center bar runs around the circumference of the pulley, connecting the individual teeth. A correspondingly congruent notch is then made in the teeth of the timing belt. When the timing belt is used on the pulleys, the center bar is then accommodated in the notch of the timing belt.

[0004] The current process for manufacturing toothed pulleys with center bars is to start with a larger diameter pulley, which is then turned and milled to the required size. The bar between the teeth is formed on both sides with a thin milling cutter, a complex process.

[0005] The invention is based on the object of providing a toothed pulley of the aforementioned type whose manufacture is simplified. Furthermore, the toothed pulley according to the invention is intended to demonstrate advantages in its use.

[0006] This object is achieved according to the invention in that the central web is a component separate from the toothed disc, which can be fastened to the toothed disc.

[0007] The toothed pulley according to the invention uses a different manufacturing method. The center bar is not produced by milling directly onto the toothed pulley; according to the invention, it is a separate component from the toothed pulley. This separate component can be manufactured separately in a suitable manner; the center bar is then attached to the toothed pulley to form the ready-to-use toothed pulley.

[0008] Preferably, the center bar is formed from center bar sections, i.e., it consists of several components. These can be applied to and attached to the same toothed disk from different directions.

[0009] For attaching the center bar to the toothed pulley, a further development of the invention provides for a space to accommodate the center bar to be formed in the circumference of the toothed pulley and the teeth. The center bar can be placed on the toothed pulley from the outside; according to this further development, it is preferably integrated into the toothed pulley. For this purpose, the space to accommodate the center bar is provided.

[0010] According to a further development of the invention, the width of the installation space is greater than the width of the central web. The installation space is thus slightly larger than the central web, which has the advantage that air can be directed through the installation space to advantageously achieve cooling of this area.

[0011] According to a further development of the invention, the installation space accommodates fastening means for attaching the center bar to the toothed disk. Thus, in addition to the center bar, the installation space also accommodates fastening means; these fastening means can be, for example, screws or rivets.

[0012] According to a further development of the invention, the installation space can be formed by milling a groove into the circumference of the toothed pulley and into the teeth. The width of the groove can be adjusted by selecting the appropriate tool.

[0013] Embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings. They show: Fig. 1: a perspective view of a toothed disc according to the invention, Fig. 2: a scaled view of detail II in Fig. 1, Fig. 3: a scaled partial sectional view of the toothed pulley according to Fig. 1, Fig. 4: another perspective view of a toothed disc, and Fig. 5: a partial sectional view of another toothed disc.

[0014] The toothed disc in Fig. 1 is wheel-shaped and can mesh with a toothed belt (not shown). For this purpose, the toothed pulley has a wheel body 1 with a circumferential surface 2. Teeth 3 are arranged circumferentially on the circumferential surface 2. These teeth 3 of the toothed pulley are connected to each other circumferentially by a central web 4.

[0015] Fig. Figure 2 shows that the central web 4 connects individual adjacent teeth 3. A timing belt can be placed on this pulley, the teeth of which have a central slot that can mesh with the central web 4. Fig. 2 shows that the central web 4 is disc-shaped; other designs with different outer surface contours are possible.

[0016] In particular Fig. Figure 4 shows that the central web 4 is formed from web sections 5 and 6. These central web sections 5, 6 are brought to the outside of the toothed pulley and fastened to the wheel body 1 in the area of the circumferential surface 2 with screws 7 and / or rivets 8.

[0017] This fastening is in Fig. 3, where the wheel body 1 with its circumferential surface 2 and the teeth 3 can be seen. A groove 9 is milled into the circumferential surface 2 and into the teeth 3, and the central web 4 is inserted into this groove 9. The central web 4 is secured to the wheel body 1 of the toothed pulley with a screw 7. For the insertion of the screw 7, a bore 10 is provided in the wheel body 1. This bore is arranged circumferentially in the wheel body 1 and, in addition to accommodating screws 7 or rivets 8, can serve for ventilation, in particular for venting.

[0018] For this purpose, the groove 9 is wider than the central web 4, so that ventilation can also occur in the area of the central web 4.

[0019] A further embodiment of a toothed disc according to the invention is shown in Fig. 5. The same components are shown with the same reference numbers as in Fig.3, the difference is that there is no air gap next to the center bar 4. The groove 9 is therefore approximately the same width as the center bar 4.
