Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a battery and a vehicle having a battery.Batteries can be used for different purposes over their service life. However, these batteries are designed to the effect that they merely fulfil the requirements of the first intended purpose of use. For example, if a state of health (SoH) of the battery is below a specified limit, it makes no sense to continue using this battery for the original intended use, since the effective or economic range and the energy content are no longer sufficient for the intended intended use. However, the battery can be used for another application in which a low energy density is sufficient. If the battery is no longer sufficient for this purpose, too, it can be finally recycled. However, at present, there is no concept to adapt a battery to a new use purpose. The battery according to the invention comprises an interface for transmitting a control command which reconfigures the battery for a new purpose of use or recycling. The original intended use of the battery is, for example, use in a vehicle, and the new intended use is, for example, use outside a vehicle. The interface enables the technical advantage that the battery can be easily adapted to another application purpose as required. In an advantageous embodiment, the battery is designed to completely discharge the battery in response to the control command. This enables the technical advantage that the battery can be prepared in a simple manner for recycling. In a further advantageous embodiment, the battery is designed to partially discharge the battery in response to the control command. This enables the technical advantage that the battery with a provided charge can be adapted to the new application purpose. In a further advantageous embodiment, the battery is designed to retrieve a state of charge and a state of health of the battery. This enables the technical advantage that the discharge of the battery can be carried out as required. In a further advantageous embodiment, the battery is designed to store the intended use of the battery and the max. and min. Voltage and max. Retrieve power for intended use. This enables the technical advantage that the new intended use can be stored in the battery and called up together with the other parameters during reuse. In a further advantageous embodiment of the battery, the interface comprises an electrical connector. This enables the technical advantage that the control command can be transmitted in a simple manner. In a further advantageous embodiment of the battery, the electrical connector comprises a voltage terminal for discharging the battery. This enables the technical advantage that the battery can be discharged safely via the voltage connection during reconfiguration. In a further advantageous embodiment of the battery, the electrical connector comprises a data connection for transmitting the control command. This enables the technical advantage that the control command can be transmitted to the battery from the outside. In a further advantageous embodiment of the battery, the electrical connector is inaccessible in a regulating operation. This enables the technical advantage of preventing unintentional or unauthorized reconfiguration of the battery. The vehicle according to the invention comprises a battery having an interface for transmitting a control command, which reconfigures a battery for a purpose of use outside a vehicle. This enables the same advantages when using the battery within a vehicle.Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the following figures. The following are shown: FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of a battery.FIG. 1 shows a schematic illustration of a battery 103 that can be reconfigured for a new application purpose. For this purpose, the battery 103 comprises an interface 105 for transmitting a control command, which reconfigures the battery 103 for a new application purpose, for example outside a vehicle. The interface 105 can be a standardized interface that allows standardized access to the battery 103 in order to change the life cycle of the battery 103, for example from a first application purpose (first life) to a second application purpose (second life) or from an application purpose to a recycling state. The battery 103 serves for storing electrical energy and can be a high-voltage battery of a motor vehicle having a plurality of battery cells. The battery 103 comprises, for example, an electrical circuit with a microprocessor which can execute the control command. The electric circuit performs reconfiguration of the battery 103.If the control command is transmitted, the battery 103 can be fully discharged in response to the control command, for example, so that the battery 103 can be safely recycled. If the control command is transmitted, the battery 103 can partially discharge to a predefined charge level, so that this is automatically prepared for a new application purpose as a result.Information about a state of health of the battery 103 or a message about a new state of the battery 103 can also be transmitted via the interface 105. The state of health of the battery 103 reflects the remaining capacity of the battery 103 relative to its original nominal capacity. 100% means that the battery can be charged up to its nominal capacity and can also release this energy at full level. A change in the life cycle (life cycle) of the battery 103 can be standardized by the battery 103.For this purpose, a standardized electrical connector (R-connector) 109 may be provided on each battery 103 that is used exclusively for this purpose. The electrical connector 109 can be realized by an electrical plug connector. The electrical connector 109 comprises, for example, voltage terminals 107- 1 with electrical contacts in order to discharge the battery 103 safely. In addition, the electrical connector 109 may have a standardized low-voltage interface as the data terminal 107- 2 for transmitting the control command and other data. The electrical connector 109 allows secure reconfiguration of the battery 103 for a new use or recycling. The battery management system may separately and individually maintain the state of health of all battery modules. This detects, for example, when the electrical connector 109 is contacted. In this case, this changes to a special state in which the battery 103 can be discharged, for example, finally and completely by the control command. Potential previous fault conditions are overwritten. In addition, general information about the battery 103 such as an operating voltage range may be transmitted. Information about a life cycle of the battery 103 may also be transmitted.Reconfiguration (re-purging) or recycling of the battery 103 via the standardized electrical connector 109 may be done by a non-skilled person throughout the world, as the previously present battery charge is eliminated. Reconfiguration or recycling may be performed at a battery, module, or component level. The electrical connector 109 may be dedicated to this reconfiguration and not other functions. The electrical connector 109 may be locked against unauthorized use, for example, by the HVIL-Interlock (HVIL) or by an arrangement at an inaccessible location. Once the electrical connector 109 is plugged in, the battery 103 is switched to a special mode. The counterpart to the electrical connector 109 may be a standardized device 200 that allows the battery 103 to be discharged via the electrical connector 109. By this device 200, such as a computer, the control command can be transmitted to the battery 103. The discharged energy may be stored in the grid or other battery 103. Information about the life cycle and health of the battery 103 may be downloaded from the battery management system and communicated to the manufacturer of the battery 103.The battery management system (BMS) may have different battery states for different life cycles. The battery state may be transmitted via the data terminal 107- 2 of the electrical connector 109. The battery states can be adjusted only downward, i.e. from a first purpose of use to a second purpose of use to final recycling. When the battery state of a second or further use is selected, a performance mapping (power mapping), a power, a sensor design and input, and monitoring of the state of health of the battery 103 may be adjusted. In addition, the battery 103 can be brought into a battery state that allows safe shipping even in the event of a malfunction. The battery condition can be automatically reported to the manufacturer. The battery management system may be automatically brought into a state that prevents unauthorized use. For this purpose, the battery 103 is discharged in a controlled manner, for example. Potential fault conditions that prevent operation of the battery 103 may be overwritten by the battery management system to bring the battery 103 into the final discharge state. All features explained and shown in connection with individual embodiments of the invention can be provided in different combinations in the subject matter according to the invention in order to realize their advantageous effects at the same time. All method steps may be implemented by devices suitable for carrying out the respective method step. All functions executed by subject features can be a method step of a method.
