Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for aligning a door frame inserted into a door jamb using a spirit level, wherein at least two vertically spaced hinge parts are arranged on the door frame.

[0002] When installing a door as part of a new construction or renovation project, a prefabricated door frame is first placed in the door opening on the wall side. This frame consists of two vertical frame legs and an upper horizontal cross member, thus forming a U-shape. Two vertically spaced hinge parts are attached to one of the vertical frame legs. After the door frame is aligned and secured, the door is attached to these hinge parts and pivoted. In the case of a two-part hinge, the frame-side hinge part is provided with a vertically projecting bearing pin. A corresponding second hinge part, designed as a sleeve and provided on the door, is then fitted onto this pin, forming a pivot axis.In the case of a three-part hinge, the frame-side hinge part is designed as a hollow cylindrical sleeve, while on the door side, two further hinge parts, also hollow cylindrical and spaced apart, are arranged to hold the frame-side hinge part between them. An axle pin is inserted through all hinge parts to form the actual pivot axis and is then secured. The door frame is initially inserted into the door jamb in a rough alignment and roughly fixed using suitable alignment and fixing elements such as wedges. The actual fine alignment of the door frame is then carried out using a spirit level, which is a relatively long level, approximately 150-180 cm in length, with a body usually made of aluminum, featuring perfectly straight and parallel longitudinal sides. The spirit level typically has several vials.A spirit level suitable for installing a door or aligning the door frame is sometimes also called a door installation level. The installer places the spirit level or door installation level against the door frame to check in which direction the door frame needs to be aligned or slightly adjusted to ensure that, after alignment, the two hinge parts on the door frame are as perfectly vertical as possible, so that the door is also perfectly aligned. During the door frame alignment process, the spirit level is placed against the inside of the frame to check whether the door frame needs to be slightly adjusted vertically at the top or bottom within the plane of the door jamb.Similarly, on the viewing plane, which runs perpendicular to the door jamb, the spirit level is placed against the door frame to check whether the door frame also needs slight vertical adjustment at the top and bottom. To make these adjustments, the installer must first place the spirit level to determine the initial direction of the adjustment. Then, they put the spirit level down and use wedges or other tools to slightly align the door frame. Afterward, they must check the alignment again with the spirit level to see how much it has improved. They then usually have to put the spirit level down again to make further adjustments, which requires another check with the spirit level. This process is repeated several times until the best possible alignment is achieved in the plane parallel to the door jamb. The entire procedure is then repeated on the plane perpendicular to the door jamb. This means that the spirit level must be frequently applied and reapplied to check any adjustments. The goal is to align the two hinge components on the frame side as precisely vertically as possible so that the door itself is also perfectly aligned. After alignment, the door must be able to swing to a 90° angle with the wall and remain firmly in this position, meaning it neither opens slowly nor closes uncontrollably. Any such movement would constitute a construction defect.

[0003] Due to the large number of individual actions involved in aligning the door frame, especially with regard to the frequent placement of the spirit level against the frame and the subsequent placement of the level, the inspection process is very cumbersome and time-consuming and physically demanding for the installer.

[0004] The invention is therefore based on the problem of providing a way to simplify the alignment of a door frame.

[0005] To solve the problem, a method of the type mentioned at the outset provides according to the invention that a spirit level with at least two pivot bearing elements arranged thereon, each having at least one further hinge part, is used, wherein each further hinge part is pivotably connected to a hinge part provided on the door frame about a pivot axis in such a way that the spirit level can be pivoted about the pivot axes aligned with each other relative to the door frame and is pivoted into different pivot positions relative to the door frame to align the door frame.

[0006] According to the invention, a spirit level, sometimes also called a door level, is used, on which at least two pivot bearing elements are arranged. These pivot bearing elements allow the spirit level to be pivotably fixed to the hinge parts located on the door frame. Such a door frame is sometimes also called a door jamb, door lining, or jamb element. Each of these pivot bearing elements has at least one further hinge part, which is connected to a hinge part located on the door frame, forming a pivot axis. The two pivot axes are, of course, aligned with each other, so that the spirit level can be pivoted about this pivot axis. This makes it possible to pivot the spirit level at any angle relative to the door frame, which is already roughly aligned and fixed in the door reveal. It can therefore be arranged parallel to the door reveal as well as perpendicular to it.Since the pivot axis around which the spirit level is rotated is formed by the frame-side hinge components, which must be aligned precisely vertically, the spirit level, mounted on this pivot, can be used to determine exactly how the frame must be aligned so that the frame-side hinge components, which define the door's pivot axis, are perfectly vertical. This precise alignment of the hinge components is crucial, as it defines the pivot axis around which the door swings, and their precise alignment also determines the door's precise alignment. Therefore, if the door's frame-side hinge components are precisely aligned, the door is automatically precisely aligned and meets all requirements.

[0007] Because the spirit level is connected to the door frame and pivots smoothly on the hinges, it can be precisely swiveled into the plane where it needs to be checked whether the door frame requires even minor adjustments to ensure the frame-side hinges are perfectly vertical. To do this, the spirit level simply pivots into the appropriate position, where it then remains. The installer can then align the door frame in this plane without ever having to move the spirit level, as it is suspended from the frame-side hinges. The installer can then adjust the door frame in this plane until it is perfectly aligned, a process that can be precisely monitored using the spirit level's vials, which track every adjustment. The installer then swivels the spirit level, for example, to the correct position. The spirit level is rotated 90° to check if the door frame is aligned perpendicular to the plane of the pipework. Here too, the spirit level remains in this position while the installer makes the alignment, which can be continuously monitored on the spirit level, allowing for immediate tracking and verification of any corrective actions. If the door frame is also aligned in this plane, it is ensured that the vertical pivot axis, defined by the hinge components on the frame side, is precisely vertically aligned. This ensures that the door mounted on it is also precisely aligned and remains in any pivot position, thus eliminating the possibility of complaints. Naturally, the alignment can also be checked in any other pivot position of the spirit level.Basically, the pivot axis is aligned with the water, i.e., the vertical; the door frame itself does not necessarily have to be in the water, i.e., vertical, but can deviate marginally from this, even if the pivot axis runs exactly vertically.

[0008] The method according to the invention therefore allows for significantly simpler work, since the installer only needs to handle the spirit level once, namely to fix it to the hinge parts on the frame, after which it simply needs to be swiveled into the corresponding alignment plane. Alignment is therefore considerably less time-consuming and less strenuous for the installer, and can also be carried out much faster, since the installer does not have to constantly attach and remove the spirit level. In particular, the installer has both hands free during the alignment work; he no longer has to, as before, sometimes hold the spirit level with one hand and work on the door frame with a tool with the other, and so on.

[0009] The pivot bearing elements can be detachable and attached to the spirit level as needed; such separate, detachable pivot bearing elements will be discussed further below. Alternatively, the pivot bearing elements, along with their respective hinge components, can be an integral part of the spirit level, essentially pre-installed and either not removable or only removable with considerable effort. For example, one pivot bearing element with its hinge component can be axially fixed to the spirit level or the level body, while the other pivot bearing element is axially displaceable and lockable in a desired position. The fixed pivot bearing element can, for example, be screwed firmly to the spirit level or the level body and project to the side, while the other pivot bearing element can be, for example,is movable in a groove or the like and can be fixed in place by means of clamping devices.

[0010] A key element of the method according to the invention is the use of a spirit level with at least two pivot bearing elements arranged on it. However, a spirit level does not typically have such pivot elements, but rather, as explained, consists only of the rail-like leveling body, which in cross-section is, for example, designed as a double-T beam. It has two longitudinal sides that run exactly parallel to each other and are flat, which usually allow for precise contact with a corresponding flat surface. In order to implement the method according to the invention, the invention further provides a way of equipping a known spirit level with corresponding pivot bearing elements.

[0011] The invention therefore further relates to a pivot bearing element, designed for connection to a spirit level, comprising a leveling body with a T-shaped cross-section provided at least on one longitudinal side, comprising a central leg and a transverse leg adjoining it and projecting to both sides. A pivoting element designed for detachable attachment to the spirit level is characterized by an element body with a receptacle for the transverse leg and clamping means for clamping the transverse leg in the receptacle, as well as fastening means for attaching at least one hinge part of a door hinge or with a hinge part attached thereto to a side of the element body opposite the receptacle.

[0012] The pivot bearing element has a corresponding receptacle that accommodates a lateral transverse leg of the T-shaped balance body in this area for the detachable attachment of the pivot bearing element to the spirit level. Using suitable clamping means, the transverse leg can then be clamped in the receptacle to fix the pivot bearing element to the balance body, ensuring that the pivot bearing element is sufficiently firmly fixed and does not change its position under any circumstances, even when the spirit level equipped with it is fixed to the frame-side hinge components. For fixing and pivoting to these frame-side hinge components, the pivot bearing element according to the invention has fastening means to which at least one hinge component of a door hinge is pre-attached, or to which it can also be attached on site. This at least one hinge component, which corresponds to the other hinge component according to the method described above, is therefore either pre-attached to the element body or can be attached by the installer. This means that the hinge component is arranged as a lateral extension of the level body. Since a door is usually mounted on the door frame via two hinges, it is generally necessary to arrange and position two such pivot bearing elements on the spirit level so that the hinge components attached to them can be brought into operative contact with the hinge components provided on the frame to form the pivot axis. However, if the door is mounted via three hinges, only two such pivot bearing elements would need to be attached to the spirit level.

[0013] Such a pivot bearing element according to the invention therefore allows a known spirit level to be easily and quickly equipped so that it can be arranged on the frame-side hinge parts and pivotally mounted. Since the arrangement of the pivot bearing elements is detachable, the spirit level can also be easily reconfigured, i.e., the pivot bearing elements can be removed again. For the installer, this means, on the one hand, that the spirit level can be used as usual without the pivot elements, while on the other hand, it can be easily converted by attaching the pivot bearing elements and the method according to the invention, i.e., the significantly simpler alignment and assembly, can be carried out.

[0014] According to a first embodiment, the pivot bearing element can be characterized in that the element body is formed by a rectangular hollow profile with four profile legs, the interior of which forms the receptacle and one of which profile legs is longitudinally slotted, such that two lateral profile arms are formed which engage behind the transverse leg inserted into the receptacle on both sides, with the clamping means clamping the profile arms against the transverse leg. In this embodiment, a simple rectangular hollow profile, preferably made of metal such as aluminum, is used to form the element body, consisting of four profile legs, one of which is longitudinally slotted, so that two lateral profile arms are formed on it which serve to engage behind the transverse leg of the balance body, with the clamping means clamping these two profile arms against the transverse leg.The distance between the two profile arms, defined by the longitudinal slot, is therefore shorter than the width of the transverse leg, allowing for a rearward engagement, while simultaneously the two lateral profile legs, which laterally define the mounting, are spaced slightly further apart than the width of the transverse leg. In this design, the pivot bearing element is essentially slid onto the transverse leg from the narrow side of the scale body and brought into the appropriate position, after which it is fixed by means of the clamping devices that clamp the profile arms against the inside of the transverse leg.

[0015] To ensure the swivel bearing element is positioned correctly relative to the spirit level body in its transverse orientation during installation, it is advantageous if the distance between the profile arms essentially corresponds to the thickness of the spirit level's central leg, thus minimizing lateral play. Alternatively, the distance between the two opposing profile legs can essentially correspond to the width of the transverse leg; this also provides good lateral guidance. Such dimensioning of a swivel bearing element is possible because well-known spirit levels typically have defined, identical, or highly similar dimensions for the central leg and the transverse leg. For example, the transverse leg is usually approximately 2.5 cm wide and 5 mm thick, while the central leg is approximately 2.5 mm thick.

[0016] As described, the clamping devices serve to clamp the element body with its two profile arms against the inside of the cross leg. To enable this, the clamping devices include a clamping screw or clamping nut that can be screwed against the cross leg. The clamping device, or rather the clamping nut or clamping screw, is screwed against the free outer, flat surface of the cross leg, which faces the inside of the cross leg, so that the profile arms can be clamped against the cross leg on the inside.

[0017] As described, the hinge part, which is or will be arranged on the element body, is fixed to it by suitable fasteners. In a specific implementation, the hinge part can have a threaded section, and the fasteners can comprise an opening provided in the element body and one or more fastening nuts, wherein the threaded section extends through the opening in the element body and is fixed by means of the one or more fastening nuts. As described, the hinge part has either a sleeve with a blind hole or a through hole, from which a threaded rod with an external thread, i.e., which has a threaded section, projects at right angles in a known manner. A corresponding opening is provided in the element body through which the threaded section engages in the recess of the hollow profile. The rod can be fitted with an external stop that allows it to run against the outer surface of the element body; alternatively, a fixing nut can serve as this stop. For final fixation, a fixing nut is screwed onto the threaded section from the mounting side, thereby securing it to the profile leg of the element body.

[0018] In this case, it is particularly advantageous if the clamping nut, as part of the clamping device for securing the profile arms to the cross leg, is screwed onto this threaded section that extends into the receptacle. This threaded section therefore serves both to fasten the hinge part to the element body and to accommodate the clamping nut, which, for mounting the pivot bearing element, is initially screwed further onto the threaded section and only screwed against the cross leg once the mounting position is reached.

[0019] It is advantageous if an opening is provided in at least one profile leg to allow tool access to the clamping nut. This opening can be an elongated slot in one of the lateral profile legs, so that the clamping nut can be easily accessed with a wrench.

[0020] In a second alternative embodiment of the pivot bearing element, the element body can consist of a first and a second sub-element, which can be connected to each other via a clamping screw forming the clamping device and which complement each other to form the receptacle. Here, the element body is thus designed in two parts, consisting of a first and a second sub-element, the position of which can be changed relative to each other. They complement each other to form the receptacle, which is designed to accommodate the transverse leg. For clamping, the two sub-elements are then firmly screwed together using the clamping device or the clamping screw, so that the transverse leg is gripped and fixed over the two sub-elements. The transverse leg lies flat against the base of the receptacle, which essentially forms a stop plane when the virtually open pivot bearing element is placed onto the free flat surface of the transverse leg. When the individual elements are screwed together, the cross leg is automatically clamped, but at the same time the swivel bearing element is also precisely aligned with the flat surface of the cross leg.

[0021] According to a further development of this embodiment, the first component can be provided with a groove in the base of which a threaded bore is provided, and the second component has a spring that engages in the groove and has a through-hole. The clamping screw extends through the through-hole and is screwed into the threaded bore. This tongue-and-groove connection allows for optimal alignment of the two components relative to each other in a simple manner, as it ensures precise guidance of one component against the other. A threaded bore is provided in the base of the groove, while the other component, i.e., the spring, has a through-hole. The clamping screw, for example, a simple knurled screw, is inserted through the through-hole and screwed into the threaded bore to clamp the components together.

[0022] In one variant, a fold can be provided on the first sub-element and a leg on the second sub-element, with the fold and leg defining the recess. This means that the quasi-U-shaped recess is bounded on one side by a quasi-L-shaped profile of the first sub-element and on the other by a quasi-I-shaped profile of the second sub-element. The L-shaped profile of the first sub-element has a first lateral leg and the base of the recess, while the I-shaped profile of the second sub-element has the second lateral leg. Alternatively, it is also conceivable that a fold is formed on both the first and second sub-elements, with both folds defining the recess. In this case, each sub-element is essentially L-shaped with respect to the recess and has a lateral leg and part of the base of the recess. The support for the transverse leg is formed here over both folds, whereas in the first variant, the base is formed only over the fold of the first sub-element.

[0023] The receptacle itself is preferably laterally bounded by two lateral legs, one of which is provided on the first sub-element and the other on the second sub-element. Each leg has a projection extending into the receptacle. Each leg therefore has a projection, preferably located at its end, resembling a nose, which engages behind the transverse leg of the balance body. The distance of each projection to the base of the receptacle is slightly greater than the thickness of the transverse leg to allow for this engagement. Each projection may preferably be provided with a chamfer facing the receptacle.

[0024] If, in the case of a spirit level to be equipped with swivel bearing elements, the thickness of the crossbar is equal to or slightly greater than the distance of the respective projection to the base of the mount, it is advisable to attach a support to one or both of the legs that define the mount. This support should be at least as thick as the adjacent projection. This support effectively flattens the surface of the respective lateral leg, preventing the projection from forming a line of contact with the end face of the crossbar. Instead, the support, which preferably covers almost the entire surface of the lateral leg, provides a flat, contact surface against the crossbar.

[0025] This support is made, for example, of an elastic material such as an elastomer, and can preferably be attached to the leg via an adhesive bond. It can therefore also be removed if necessary. If the element body is made of a magnetizable material, the supports could also be magnetically attached.

[0026] The fastening means in this two-part embodiment of the element body can comprise a recess provided in the first sub-element for a plug-in section of the hinge part to be attached or already attached, and a threaded bore extending transversely to the recess, into which a retaining screw is screwed. The hinge part can be fastened or secured by means of the retaining screw, which can be screwed or is screwed against the plug-in section. The first sub-element thus has a corresponding blind bore into which the plug-in section is inserted, i.e., the rod projecting from the sleeve of the hinge part. Perpendicular to this recess, a threaded bore extends into which a retaining screw, preferably a simple setscrew, is screwed. This screw can then be tightened against the plug-in section to fix the hinge part, thereby securing it.

[0027] It is advantageous if the plug-in section has a flat lead-in section against which the retaining screw can be screwed or is screwed. This flat lead-in section allows the retaining screw to be screwed against a flat surface, thereby enabling rotational alignment around the longitudinal axis of the plug-in section in the plug-in receptacle, so that the sleeve of the hinge part is already precisely aligned.

[0028] The element body itself is made of metal, particularly aluminum, or preferably fiber-reinforced plastic. This applies to both one-piece and two-piece versions of the element body. Aluminum is particularly preferred because it is a very lightweight metal, although the element body can, of course, also be made of steel. In the case of a plastic version, the plastic should preferably be fiber-reinforced to ensure sufficient strength and dimensional stability. In such a plastic version, threaded inserts and similar components are then embedded.

[0029] As described above, the hinge used to support the door can be either two-part or three-part. Accordingly, one hinge part, which is part of a two-part hinge, can be attached to or is already attached to the door body. Alternatively, it is conceivable that two hinge parts, which are part of a three-part hinge, can be attached to or are already attached to the door body.

[0030] It is advantageous if appropriate fastening means are provided on the element body, which optionally allow the fastening of only one hinge part for a 2-part hinge or two hinge parts for a 3-part hinge, so that the element body can be fitted with hinge parts as required.

[0031] Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for aligning a door frame inserted into a door jamb, comprising a spirit level and at least two pivot bearing elements attached thereto, each of which has at least one further hinge element for detachable coupling with at least one hinge element provided on the door frame.

[0032] In one variant, the pivot bearing elements of the type described above can be detachably attached to the spirit level. In this variant, both pivot bearing elements can be arranged in any longitudinal position on the spirit level.

[0033] Alternatively, it is also conceivable that one pivot bearing element is fixed axially to the spirit level, while the other pivot bearing element is axially displaceable and lockable in a desired axial position, or can be attached at various predetermined longitudinal positions. In this configuration, one pivot bearing element is fixed to the spirit level or the level body, while the other can be positioned in various longitudinal positions to adjust the required distance for mounting on the frame-side hinge components. This quasi-adjustable pivot bearing element can either be longitudinally displaceable and lockable in the desired longitudinal position, or alternatively, it can be attached at predetermined longitudinal positions.

[0034] The axially fixed swivel bearing element can be attached to the spirit level via a screw connection, a welded connection, or a mounting bracket, projecting laterally. For example, it is inserted into a threaded opening or threaded hole in the level body and secured with one or two nuts. Alternatively, it can be welded directly to the level body. Besides such a fixed mounting, it is also possible for the swivel bearing element to be pivotally mounted on the spirit level, allowing it to pivot between a position flush with or pivoted into the spirit level and a position projecting laterally from the spirit level. Here, the pivot bearing element can be pivoted between a non-use position, in which it rests against the scale body or, if hollow, pivoted into it, and a use position, in which it protrudes from the scale body. The pivot bearing element is, of course, locked in each of these positions.

[0035] If the swivel bearing element, which can be positioned in various locations, is longitudinally displaceable, it can be slidably mounted in a longitudinal groove of the spirit level and locked in place by means of a locking device. The spirit level body thus has a longitudinal groove in which the swivel bearing element is guided, for example, by a bearing section or sliding shoe. It can be screwed into the desired position or clamped in the longitudinal groove, for example, by means of a retaining screw. Alternatively, it is conceivable that the spirit level has several mounting points provided at the designated longitudinal positions, in each of which the swivel bearing element can be attached. Depending on the desired position, it is thus fixed in the respective mounting device.

[0036] Such a mounting device, in which both the axially fixed and the axially variably positionable swivel bearing element can be mounted, can have a plug-in receptacle into which the swivel bearing element can be inserted with a plug-in section, and a threaded bore extending transversely to it, accommodating a retaining screw that is screwed against the plug-in section. The respective swivel bearing element is thus inserted into the plug-in receptacle only with the plug-in section and fixed with the retaining screw, e.g., a knurled screw.

[0037] A spirit level typically has a frame body with a T-shaped cross-section on at least one long side, comprising a central leg and a transverse leg extending to both sides. The central leg and the transverse leg form an angle of 90° or greater. The transverse leg can therefore be perpendicular to the central leg, or it can be connected at a right angle. Alternatively, the two can be at an angle greater than 90° to each other, meaning the thickness of the transverse leg increases towards the central leg. The level body itself usually has a corresponding T-shaped cross-section on both sides, allowing the pivot bearings to be attached to either side. Alternatively, the spirit level can also have a rectangular hollow body.

[0038] Further advantages and details of the present invention will become apparent from the exemplary embodiments described below and from the drawing. The drawings show: Fig. 1 A schematic representation of a device according to the invention for aligning a door frame inserted into a door jamb, comprising two pivot bearing elements according to the invention, attached to a spirit level, Fig. 2 a schematic representation of the arrangement Fig. 1 in a top view showing different swivel positions of the spirit level, Fig. 3 a schematic representation of a pivot bearing element according to the invention of a first embodiment in its arrangement on a spirit level in the form of an end view, Fig. 4 a side view of the arrangement Fig. 3, Fig. 5 a schematic representation of a pivot bearing element of a second embodiment according to the invention in its arrangement on a spirit level in the form of an end view, Fig. 6 a side view of a hinge part of the swivel bearing element made of Fig. 5, Fig. 7 a side view of the arrangement in the direction of line VII-VII from Fig. 5, Fig. 8 a schematic representation of a pivot bearing element of a third embodiment according to the invention in an end view, Fig. 9 a schematic representation of a fastening option for an axially position-fixed swivel bearing element, Fig. 10 a schematic representation of a pivotable arrangement of the axially position-fixed pivot bearing element in a sectional view, Fig. 11 the order according Fig. 10 in a side view, and Fig. 12 a schematic representation of a fastening possibility for the axially position-fixed first swivel bearing element or the second swivel bearing element which can be fastened in different longitudinal positions.

[0039] Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of a device 1 according to the invention for aligning a door frame 3 inserted into a door jamb 2, comprising two vertical frame legs 4 and an upper horizontal frame leg 5. The device 1 comprises, firstly, a spirit level 6, sometimes also called a door setting level, which has a corresponding length and can be used for aligning a door frame, and, secondly, two pivot bearing elements 7 according to the invention arranged thereon, which are described in detail below.

[0040] Two hinge parts 8 of a two-part hinge are attached to a vertical frame leg 4. Their vertical orientation must be precisely aligned by aligning the door frame 3, as this defines a pivot axis for a door to be subsequently installed and pivotally mounted thereon. The device 1 according to the invention, comprising the spirit level 6 and the two pivot bearing elements 7, serves this purpose. The spirit level 6 is positioned on the hinge parts 8 of the door frame 3 and pivotally mounted thereon. For this purpose, each of the two pivot bearing elements 7 comprises further hinge parts 9, which are designed to complement the frame-side hinge parts 8 to form a complete hinge, just as would be formed by a door and its hinge parts. The pivot elements 7 are fixedly connected to the spirit level 6, but their position relative to it can be adjusted accordingly. This means that their vertical position can be changed on the longitudinal side 10 of the spirit level 6, allowing their respective hinge parts 9 to be aligned with the hinge parts 8 of the door frame 3. The arrangement and pivot bearing of the spirit level 6 directly on the frame-side hinge parts 8 allows the door frame 3 to be aligned precisely so that the hinge parts 8, which define the subsequent pivot axis for the door to be attached to it, are perfectly vertical.Because of the various spirit levels 11 of the spirit level 6, which are arranged on the level body 12, an exact determination of the actual instantaneous orientation of the hinge parts 8 and thus of the pivot axis defined by them is possible due to the backlash-free, but rotatable mounting or connection of the spirit level 6 to the frame-side hinge parts 8, whereby the pivot axis is defined by the two pivot axes that the two frame-side hinge parts 8 and the two hinge parts 9 provided on the pivot elements 7 each form with each other and which are aligned with each other. The door frame 3 is therefore aligned in the plane of the door jamb 2 and perpendicular to it until the hinge parts 8, or rather the pivot axis defined by them, are exactly vertical, regardless of whether the profile leg 4, on which the hinge parts 8 are arranged, actually runs exactly vertically in the two alignment directions or at a marginal angle to it. The decisive factor is solely the alignment of the hinge parts 8 and the pivot axis defined by them, as this determines the correct alignment of the door.

[0041] The fact that the spirit level 6 is attached to the hinge parts in 8 of the door frame 3 and pivotally mounted throughout the entire alignment process allows the installer to precisely align the door frame 3 in both alignment planes without having to constantly position the spirit level 6 against the door frame 3 or put it down for adjustments. For this purpose, the installer does not need to handle the spirit level 6 at all, but simply adjust its pivot position according to the desired measuring plane.

[0042] Fig. Figure 2 shows a schematic diagram of a top view of the arrangement. Fig. 1. Shown is a partial top view of the door frame 3 with its horizontal upper frame leg 5. The top view shows the spirit level 6 with its profile body 12, which has a double-T-shaped cross-sectional profile, a thinner central leg 13, and two transverse legs 14. The two pivot bearing elements 7 are attached to the left transverse leg 14, of which only one is shown in the top view. The element body 15 of the pivot bearing element 7, which is attached to the transverse leg 14, is shown, as well as the hinge part 9, which rests on the frame-side hinge part 8 (not shown in detail).

[0043] In the Fig. In position 2, the spirit level 6 is in a pivoted position, running almost parallel to the plane of the door jamb 2. This allows, as indicated by arrow P1, the frame leg 4 to be aligned accordingly in the plane of the door jamb 2, i.e., its upper and lower ends to be shifted slightly laterally and fixed with appropriate fixing elements such as wedges or small plates, etc., in order to align the hinge parts 8 in this plane so that the hinge parts 9 are exactly vertical in this plane. Any correction can be checked directly via the vials 11 of the spirit level 6, since these, being connected without play to the hinge parts 8 and thus to the frame leg 4, show the exact current alignment and therefore the vertical alignment. This alignment is carried out until the hinge parts 9 are exactly vertical in this plane.

[0044] The spirit level 6 is then inserted into the space shown by the double arrow P2. Fig. The hinge parts 9 are pivoted to position 2 (dashed line), rotating 90° without play on the hinge parts 8, as shown by the dashed line. The spirit level 6 now runs perpendicular to the plane of the door jamb 2, meaning that the alignment of the frame leg 4, and thus the hinge parts 8, can now be carried out in a plane perpendicular to the previous viewing plane, as shown by the double arrow P3. The installer now continuously checks to what extent the profile leg 4 needs to be moved slightly further perpendicular to the jamb plane in the upper or lower area, or moved slightly out of it, until the hinge parts 8 are also perfectly vertical in this plane. Subsequently, the hinge parts 8 are perfectly vertically aligned in both planes, which means that the spirit level 6 can be pivoted as desired without the hinge parts 8 deviating from the vertical in any way, regardless of the spirit level 6's angle.During all these alignment operations, the spirit level 6 remains in its pivot bearing on the hinge parts 8 as described, so that the fitter can align permanently and quickly, whereby he can immediately track every measure, i.e. every even the smallest change in angle of the frame leg 4 via the vials 11 of the spirit level 6.

[0045] Fig. Figure 3 shows a schematic representation of a first embodiment of a pivot bearing element 7 according to the invention. This element comprises an element body 15, which is formed by a rectangular hollow profile 16 with four profile legs, an upper profile leg 17, two lateral profile legs 18, and a lower profile leg 19, which is longitudinally slotted via a slot 20, so that only two profile arms 21 remain. The profile legs 17, 18, 19 define a receptacle 22 into which the transverse leg 14 of the spirit level 6 engages. The two profile arms 21 engage behind the transverse leg 14 on the two inner sides of the legs; the lateral distance between the two lateral profile legs 18 is only slightly greater than the width of the transverse leg 14, thus providing slight lateral guidance. To attach the pivot bearing element 7 to the spirit level 6, the pivot bearing element 7 is inserted from the end face, i.e., in the Fig. 1 from above, pushed onto the transverse leg 14, so that it is received in the receptacle 22 and engaged from behind by the profile arms 21.

[0046] Clamping devices 23, comprising in the example shown a clamping nut 24, are used to secure the pivot bearing element 7 in the desired longitudinal position along the longitudinal side of the spirit level 6. A threaded rod 26, which is part of the hinge element 9 and projects from a hinge sleeve 27, is screwed onto a threaded section 25 of the clamping nut. The hinge element 9 is fixed to the element body 15 by means of suitable fasteners 28. For this purpose, the element body 15, or rather the profile leg 17, has an opening 29 through which the threaded rod 26 passes. The fasteners 28 comprise two fastening nuts 30, which clamp the threaded rod 26 to the profile leg 17.The clamping nut 24 is screwed onto the threaded section 25. This nut is screwed against the flat outer surface 31 of the cross leg 14 to clamp the element body 15 to the cross leg 14, while the two profile arms 21 are clamped against the inner surface 32 of the profile leg 14. To provide access to the clamping nut 24, one of the lateral profile legs 18 has an opening 33 through which a wrench can be used to access the clamping nut 24. The sleeve 27 is, of course, aligned exactly parallel to the longitudinal axis of the element body 15, which, in its mounting position on the cross leg 14, is also aligned exactly with its longitudinal axis. If two such pivot bearing elements 17 are attached to the cross leg 14, the pivot axes defined by the respective sleeves 27 are perfectly aligned with each other. The distance between the pivot bearing elements 7 and thus between the hinge parts 9 corresponds to the distance between the hinge parts 8 of the door frame 3, so that for attaching the spirit level 6 the sleeves 27, which can be designed as continuously open or as closed sleeves on one side, can be placed from above onto the bearing pins of the hinge parts 8 (not shown in detail), on which they are received without play, but pivotably.

[0047] Fig. Figure 5 shows a top view of a second embodiment of a pivot bearing element 7 according to the invention, where the same reference numerals are used for identical components. This pivot bearing element 7 also has an element body 15, which here, however, is in two parts and consists of a first sub-element 34 and a second sub-element 35. Both are correspondingly elongated, similar to the element body 15 of the first embodiment. A groove 37 is formed on the first sub-element 34, into which a spring 38 of the second sub-element 35 engages, being received therein with virtually no play. A threaded bore 39 extends from the base of the groove into the first sub-element 34, while a through-bore 40 extends through the spring 38; these are shown with dashed lines because they are formed in the sub-element.A clamping screw 41, also partially shown with dashed lines, is provided as the clamping device 23. It passes through the through-hole 40 and its external thread is screwed into the threaded hole 39. This allows the relative position of the two sub-elements 34 and 35 to be changed.

[0048] Both sub-elements 34, 35 define the recess 22. The first sub-element has a fold 42 for this purpose and comprises a lateral leg 43 and a base 44 for the recess 22. The second sub-element 35 has only a lateral leg 45. The two lateral legs 43, 45 define the recess 22 laterally, while the base 44 defines the recess internally. The base 44 is a flat surface and lies in the assembly position as shown in the diagram. Fig. 5 shown, on the flat outer side 31 of the transverse leg 14, which in the example shown here gradually tapers in width towards the middle leg 13, i.e. does not run perpendicular to it as in the embodiment according to Fig. 3. The two side legs 43, 45 are provided with corresponding projections 46, 47 which, in the example shown, engage behind the transverse leg 14. The projections 46, 47 may have a slight chamfer, similar to the slope of the transverse leg 14. To attach the pivot bearing element 7, the clamping screw 41 is first loosened so that the second sub-element 35 is slightly spaced laterally from the first sub-element 34, and the pivot bearing element 7 can be placed directly onto the transverse leg 14 from the side until the outer surface 31 of the transverse leg 14 rests flush against the base 22. The clamping screw 41 is then tightened so that the two side legs 43, 45 laterally engage the transverse leg 14 and clamp against it. This allows for simple fixing to the transverse leg 14.

[0049] To attach the hinge part 9 to the element body 15 in this variant as well, a blind hole (shown with dashed lines) is provided on the first sub-element 34. This blind hole extends inwards from the outer surface 49 of the first sub-element 34 opposite the base 22. Perpendicular to this is an internal threaded bore 50 (also shown with dashed lines) into which a retaining screw 51, e.g., a setscrew, is screwed. This screw runs against the threaded rod 26 of the hinge part 9, which does not necessarily have to be a threaded rod. The threaded rod 26 preferably has a flat leading section 52 in this area (see [reference]). Fig. 6, against which the retaining screw 51 is screwed, thereby ensuring precise alignment of the operating position around the longitudinal axis of the threaded rod 26 in the insertion receptacle 48, so that the sleeve 27 is already aligned exactly parallel to the longitudinal axis of the element body 15. This is because the longitudinal axis of the sleeve bore, i.e., its pivot axis, is perpendicular to the leading edge section 52.

[0050] Since each swivel bearing element is of course equipped with the corresponding hinge part 9, to attach the spirit level 6 to the hinge parts 8, it is therefore only necessary to loosen the clamping nut 41 slightly and to place the respective swivel element 7 on the cross leg 14 and bring it into the desired longitudinal position, after which the clamping screw 41 is tightened and the clamping fixation takes place.

[0051] Fig. Figure 7 shows a side view of the pivot bearing element 7. Fig. 5 in the direction of line VII-VII. The two sub-elements 34, 35 and the clamping screw 41 are shown. Three insertion recesses 48 are shown with dashed lines, the middle insertion recess 48 serving to receive a hinge part 9, which is part of a two-part hinge that holds the door. The first hinge part 8, which is attached to the door frame 3, has in this case a bearing pin located in the pivot axis, onto which the hinge part 9 with its sleeve 27 is placed.

[0052] If the hinge is a three-part hinge, only a sleeve with a through-hole is attached to the door frame 3 as the frame-side hinge part 8. Hinge parts 9 are attached to each of the pivot elements 7 in the upper and lower insertion recesses 48. These hinge parts 9 have corresponding sleeves 27 with through-holes, which are precisely aligned with each other and spaced apart such that they accommodate the sleeve of the hinge part 8 between them. An axle pin is inserted through all three sleeves for fastening, is secured accordingly, and forms the pivot axis. The sleeves are mounted on this axle pin with no play, and the two sleeves of the pivot bearing elements 9 are, of course, rotatable. The design with these three insertion recesses allows the element body 15 to be converted, if necessary, to form a two-part or a three-part hinge.

[0053] Fig. Figure 8 finally shows an embodiment of a third embodiment of a pivot bearing element 7, which is essentially the same as the one made of Fig. 5 corresponds to. The element body 15 also has a first sub-element 34 and a second sub-element 35, wherein again a threaded bore 39 is formed on the first sub-element and a through bore 40 on the second sub-element, as well as a clamping screw 41, which is screwed with its threaded section into the internal threaded bore 39, so that the two sub-elements 34, 35 can be clamped against each other. Also provided here again is at least one insertion recess 48 and an internal threaded bore 50 leading to it, into which a retaining screw 51 is screwed for fastening the respective hinge part 9. Preferably, three such insertion recesses are also provided here for a design to form a 2-part or 3-part hinge. The basic structure and basic function correspond to that of the Fig. 5 - 7 described.

[0054] In contrast, the geometry of the two sub-elements 34 and 35 differs somewhat. The first sub-element 34, forming the receptacle 22, again has a first fold 42 with a lateral leg 43 and a projection 46. However, only part of the base 44 is formed by the fold 42. The other part is formed by the second sub-element 35, which also has a fold 53, as well as the lateral leg 45 with the projection 47. The flat outer surface 31 of the transverse leg 14, which is not shown, thus rests on both parts of the base 44.

[0055] In this embodiment, a support 54, 55 is shown with dashed lines on each of the two lateral legs 43, 45. This support serves to compensate for the height difference of the two lateral legs 43, 45 to the level of the projections 46, 47. This may be necessary if the transverse leg 14 is slightly thicker than the recess 22 is deep, so that the projections 46, 47 would otherwise rest on the sides of the transverse leg 14. To avoid only line contact, height compensation can be achieved via these supports 54, 55, so that the supports 54, 55 ultimately bear against the transverse leg 14 over a flat surface. The supports 54, 55 can, for example, be made of an elastic material such as an elastomer or similar and can be fixed to the respective leg 43, 45 by means of an adhesive or tape.

[0056] The examples shown above describe a device 1 in which the two pivot bearing elements 7 are longitudinally displaceable on the spirit level 6 and the cross leg 14, respectively, and can be fixed in any position. Alternatively, it is possible to fix a first pivot bearing element 7 axially in a fixed position on the spirit level 6 and the level body 12, respectively, while the second pivot bearing element 7 can be fixed in various axial longitudinal positions on the level body 12, so that, depending on the given positioning, the distance between the two pivot bearing elements 7 can be adjusted and set with respect to the distance between the hinge parts on the door frame 4.

[0057] Fig. Figure 9 shows a schematic representation of a first variant of a fastening of the axially position-fixed first pivot bearing element 7, for example, of the, with reference to Fig. 1, lower pivot bearing element 7. Shown is the spirit level 6, which here has a cross leg 14 designed as a hollow body. An opening 56 is provided in the cross leg 14, through which a threaded stud 57 of the pivot bearing element 7, on which the further hinge part 9 is arranged, engages. The pivot bearing element 7 is fixed laterally by means of two nuts 58. Since this is the axially fixed first pivot bearing element 7, it can be fixed in a fixed longitudinal position; the adjustment of the distance is achieved via the second pivot bearing element 7, which can be changed in its position.

[0058] Instead of the illustrated design with the two nuts 58, it would also be conceivable to design the opening 56 as an internally threaded bore into which the threaded stud 57 is screwed. It would then be expediently secured from the outside of the cross leg 14 with a nut 58.

[0059] Alternatively, it would be conceivable to equip the swivel bearing element 7 with only a simple pin and weld this directly to the cross leg 14.

[0060] As described, the second pivot bearing element 7 can also be accessed via the in Fig. The second pivot bearing element 7 is attached to the cross leg 14 or the balance body 12 as shown in Figure 9. However, since this second pivot bearing element 7 is to be fixed in different positions, several openings 56 are provided along the cross leg 14, forming defined mounting positions, whereby the pivot bearing element 7 is locked in the corresponding mounting position in one of the ways described above, apart from welding, depending on the desired distance.

[0061] Fig. Figure 10 shows an embodiment of a device 1 according to the invention, in which the spirit level 6 or the leveling body 12 is designed as a hollow body. A pivot bearing element 7 is again shown, which is once again the axially position-fixed, first pivot bearing element 7. This has a further hinge part 9, which is arranged on a pivot arm 59 that is pivotally mounted on a pivot receptacle 60 provided inside the hollow body. The pivot receptacle 60 comprises, see Fig. 11, two bearing cheeks 61 in which a bolt 62 is rotatably mounted, to which the swivel arm 59 is connected. This swivel bearing makes it possible, as Fig. Figure 10 shows the pivot bearing element 7 from the operating position projecting laterally from the carriage body 6, which is in Fig. The pivot bearing element 7 can be pivoted from its solid position (as shown in arrow P4) to a position in which it is rotated 90° and no longer protrudes laterally (as shown in arrow P4), or, as shown in arrow P5, furthermore to a non-use position in which it is completely confined within the hollow balance body 12. Preferably, the pivot bearing element 7 is pivotable between the extended use position, in which it can be connected to the hinge part 8, and the pivoted non-use position. In each of these positions, it can also be locked by means of locking devices (not shown in detail), for example, a locking screw or similar device, by which the pivot bearing can be locked in the pivot receptacle 60. To allow the pivot bearing element 7 to pivot, corresponding recesses are provided on the balance body 12, permitting pivoting in and out of the hollow balance body 12.

[0062] Fig. Figure 12 shows a further embodiment of a device 1, with a spirit level 6 having a leveling body 12, which is again designed as a hollow body. The detachable fastening of the hinge element 7 shown can serve both for fastening the axially fixed first pivot bearing element 7 and for the positionally variable fastening of the second pivot bearing element 7.

[0063] One leg 63, which defines the hollow body, is reinforced accordingly. To attach the pivot bearing element 7, a mounting receptacle 64 with a socket 65 is provided on this leg 63. A plug-in section 66 of the pivot bearing element 7, which has the further hinge part 9 at one end, is inserted into this socket. This plug-in section 66 can in turn have a corresponding flat surface 67, which secures the element in the inserted position. A threaded bore 68, extending transversely to the socket 67, is provided on the leg 63 for fastening. A retaining screw 69, in this case a knurled screw, is screwed into this bore. After the plug-in section 66 is inserted, this retaining screw 69 can be screwed in and tightened against the flat surface 67, thereby fixing the pivot bearing element 7.

[0064] If the first, axially fixed pivot bearing element 7 is fixed in this way, only one corresponding mounting receptacle 64 comprising the insertion receptacle 65 and the threaded bore 68 is required, since this first pivot bearing element 7 can only be arranged in one position. However, if the second pivot bearing element 7, which must be variable in its distance from the first pivot bearing element 7, is also to be attached in this way, several such mounting receptacles 64 with insertion receptacle 65 and threaded bore 68 are provided along the length of the corresponding leg 63 (which can, of course, also have a different geometry), i.e., correspondingly defined longitudinal positions are defined in this way, to which the second pivot bearing element 7 can be attached. The longitudinal distance between the individual mounting receptacles 64 can be in the range of one centimeter or less, so that a correspondingly fine distance adjustment is possible.
