Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a disc brake for a commercial vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] Disc brakes with an integrated parking brake, arranged on a vehicle-side brake carrier, are known from the prior art. Various configurations are known from the prior art for the function of the parking brake, i.e., for blocking the brake disc in a parked position, wherein an actuator is provided for actuating a locking element, for example, pneumatically actuated or by means of a spring accumulator.
[0003] In the latter case, when the parking brake is disengaged, a compression spring is pre-tensioned by pneumatic pressure. When the parking brake is engaged, the pressure is released from a spring-loaded cylinder, causing the compression spring to push a piston towards the brake caliper.
[0004] DE 198 00 643 A1 describes a parking brake in which a pawl with a projection engages in an external toothing of a wheel hub by means of a lifting magnet.
[0005] This literature reveals yet another constructive solution for a parking brake, in which the wheel hub, instead of external teeth, has a large number of recesses aligned parallel to the wheel hub, into which a plunger movable by an actuator engages when the parking brake is in its operating position.
[0006] In any case, the implementation of this parking brake involves considerable manufacturing effort, especially since the wheel hub has to be machined.
[0007] This applies equally to the disc brake discussed in DE 10 2015 200 737 A1, in which the brake disc connected to the vehicle is provided with a toothed section on its outer or inner circumference into which a locking element engages during operation.
[0008] In principle, this well-known disc brake has proven itself in practice, although there are calls to find a more cost-effective solution, especially since such disc brakes are used in large numbers.
[0009] The invention is therefore based on the objective of further developing a disc brake of the generic type in such a way that it can be manufactured more easily and cost-effectively.
[0010] This problem is solved by a disc brake having the features of claim 1.
[0011] The invention is characterized in particular by the fact that the implementation of the parking brake is significantly simplified, which results primarily from the fact that essentially no machining of the brake disc is required.
[0012] According to the invention, at least one plunger, which constitutes a blocking element, engages in a cooling channel formed between two spacers arranged at a distance from each other in the circumferential direction.
[0013] This means that the standard shape of the brake disc remains unchanged. Therefore, if a brake disc is replaced due to wear, for example, it can be replaced with a standard brake disc that meets current technical standards (i.e., one with teeth on the inner or outer circumference).
[0014] For the parking brake to function, the plunger is moved axially into the respective cooling channel by means of an actuator. The plunger and actuator, as a single functional unit, are also known from the prior art (DE 198 00 643 A1), and may already be part of an existing disc brake, whose brake discs only need to be replaced, thus allowing the invention to be implemented at no additional cost. The actuator can be used as a solenoid, as disclosed, for example, in the aforementioned publication.
[0015] To facilitate the easy insertion of the plunger into the cooling channel, its tip can be conical, frustoconical, or convex.
[0016] Preferably, at least one, preferably several, plungers are provided as blocking elements, which are radially displaceable towards the inner or outer edge of the brake disc with respect to the brake disc axis, and whose distance to each other is preferably slightly larger than the associated cross-sectional dimension of the spacer between two such plungers.
[0017] The actuator, with which the at least one plunger can be moved axially, is held on a support flange attached to the brake carrier, wherein the actuator can be pneumatically or electrically actuated, which is particularly advantageous when using the disc brake in an electric vehicle.
[0018] The parking brake can be arranged so that the plunger can be inserted from the outer circumference of the brake disc or from the inner circumference, with only the support flange needing to be designed accordingly.
[0019] Furthermore, the new parking brake can be used with a wide variety of different models of internally ventilated brake discs, requiring only a corresponding configuration.
[0020] In principle, it is conceivable that the new parking brake can be used with an already installed disc brake, especially if a brake disc replacement is necessary due to wear.
[0021] Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims.
[0022] An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0023] They show: Fig. 1. A partial view of a disc brake in a perspective view Fig. 2 a longitudinal section through the partial section according to Fig. 1 Fig. 3 a cross-section through the partial section according to line III-III in Fig. 1.
[0024] In the Fig. Figure 1 shows a partial section of an internally ventilated brake disc 1 in a top view, which has two friction rings 2, 3 arranged parallel and spaced apart from each other. These friction rings 2, 3 are connected to each other by spacers 4, forming cooling channels 5. The arrangement of the spacers 4 is particularly clear in the Fig. 2 can be seen, in which only a friction ring 3 is shown.
[0025] An actuator 9 is connected to the inner circumference of the brake disc 1 as part of a parking brake on a carrier flange 8, which is connected to a brake carrier horn 7 of a vehicle-side brake carrier 6 (not shown) supporting a brake caliper and which overlaps an adjacent friction ring 2.
[0026] In the actuator 9, which can be actuated electrically or pneumatically, several radially oriented and axially movable cylindrical plungers 10 are arranged in the example, as shown in particular in the Fig. 2 can be seen.
[0027] The clear distance between two plungers 10 is larger than the cross-sectional dimension of the spacer 4, which is located in the parked position between the two plungers 10 and is positioned in the end region of the plungers 10. This is particularly evident in the Fig. 2 to recognize.
[0028] The cylindrical plungers 10 are retracted to a starting position when the parking brake is released, each being slidably mounted in a bore 11 of the actuator 9.
[0029] To facilitate the insertion of the plungers 10 into the cooling channels 5 formed between two spacers 4, the plungers 10 can be convex, conical or in the form of another insertion aid at their free end region which plunges into the cooling channels 5.
[0030] The Fig. Figure 3 shows a cross-section through the cutout corresponding to section line III-III in Fig. 1. Here it can be seen that one of three plungers 10, according to the illustration in Fig. 2, where the left plunger 10 abuts a spacer 4, thus not protruding into a cooling channel 5. In contrast, the two other plungers 10 are guided into the cooling channels 5 and together form a movement stop by contacting a spacer 4 on the sides of the plungers 10 facing the spacer 4.
[0031] In this example, the plungers 10 are inserted from the inner circumference of the brake disc 1. However, it is also conceivable to configure the parking brake so that the plungers 10 can be inserted from the outer circumference of the brake disc 1.
