[0004] The following section refers in detail to embodiments, examples of which are shown in the accompanying drawings. Numerous specific details are presented in the following detailed description to facilitate a thorough understanding of the various described embodiments. However, it will be clear to a person skilled in the art that the various described embodiments can also be implemented without these specific details. In other cases, known methods, procedures, components, circuits, and networks have not been described in detail in order to avoid unnecessarily obscuring aspects of the embodiments.
[0005] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, an electrical assembly 20 comprises a housing 22, an electrical connection 24, and a printed circuit board 26. The electrical assembly 20 is mounted on a chassis 32 of a vehicle 30, but can also be attached to other mounting surfaces. The housing 22 defines an interior space 40. The printed circuit board 26 and one or more electrical components 42 (e.g., relays, fuses, capacitors, resistors, inductors, control units, etc.) can be arranged in the interior space 40. The one or more electrical components 42 can be connected (e.g., mounted) to the printed circuit board 26.
[0006] The electrical connection 24 comprises a first connection area 50 and a second connection area 52. The first connection area 50 is located inside the housing 40, and the second connection area 52 is located at least partially outside the housing 40, for example, to connect the electrical assembly 20 electrically and / or mechanically to the chassis 32. The first connection area 50 can be electrically connected (e.g., soldered) to another component, such as the printed circuit board 26. The second connection area 52 is connected to the chassis 32 via a fastening element 60, e.g., a screw. The fastening element 60 comprises a body 62 and a head 64, which is located at one end of the body 62 and has a diameter 64D that is larger than the diameter 62D of the body 62.
[0007] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the first connection area 50 of the electrical connection 24 comprises a first pin or socket 70 and / or a second pin or socket 72. Optionally, in some configurations, the first pin or socket 70 is configured as a pin and the second pin or socket 72 is configured as a pin. In other configurations, the first pin or socket 70 is configured as a socket (e.g., configured to at least partially accommodate another connection, such as a pin connector) and the second pin or socket 72 is configured as a socket (see, e.g., Figure 2). Fig. 3) In yet other configurations, one is configured as a pin consisting of the first pin or socket 70 and the second pin or socket 72, and the other as a socket consisting of the first pin or socket 70 and the second pin or socket 72. The first pin or socket 70 extends in the first direction, and the second pin or socket 72 extends in a second direction, which may be opposite to the first. While the electrical terminal 24 is shown with two pins or sockets 70, 72, the electrical terminal 24 may also have a different number of pins or sockets, e.g., one pin or socket 70 ( Fig. 5) or more than two pins or sockets. The pins may include pins, lamellae, other configurations, or combinations thereof.
[0008] The second connection area 52 includes an eyelet 80 that defines an opening 82. The eyelet 80 is perpendicular to the first pin or receptacle 70 and the second pin or receptacle 72. Optionally, the eyelet 80 is arranged at a different angle or parallel to the first pin or receptacle 70 and / or the second pin or receptacle 72. The opening 82 has a diameter 82D that is at least as large as the diameter 62D of the body 62 ( Fig. 1) and smaller than the diameter 64D of the head 64 of the shutter 60 ( Fig. 1) The first pin or receptacle 70 and the second pin or receptacle 72 can run parallel to a center line 60A of the fastening element 60 ( Fig. 1) The eyelet 80 is continuous in the circumferential direction, so that the opening 82 is closed, but the eyelet 80 can also have other configurations, such as configurations with a circumferential gap.
[0009] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the body 62 of the fastening element 60 is partially arranged in the eyelet 80 and extends through it (e.g. through the opening 82 - see Figure 3). Fig. 1), and the head 64 is arranged directly on the eyelet 80, e.g., without a bushing or washer. Optionally, a bushing and / or a washer may be arranged between the head 64 and the eyelet 80. The body 62 extends through the eyelet 80 and into the chassis 32 to mechanically and electrically connect the electrical assembly 20 to the chassis 32. For example, the body 62 may be screwed into the chassis 32 and / or the fastener 60 may include a nut 66 that is screwed onto the body 62, such that at least parts of the eyelet 80 and the chassis 32 are arranged between the head 64 and the nut. The electrical connection grounds the electrical assembly 20 and / or one or more electrically connected components, such as the components 42 ( Fig. 1), with chassis 32.
[0010] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the housing 22 includes a mounting flange 90 that defines a housing opening 92. The mounting flange 90 extends outwards from the housing 22, runs parallel to the eyelet 80, and partially covers the second connection area 52, for example, part of the eyelet 80. The eyelet 80 can, for example, have an exposed part 84 ( Fig. 1), which is not covered by the mounting flange 90, and a covered part 86 ( Fig. 1), which is covered by the mounting flange 90. The housing opening 92 is aligned with the opening 82 of the eyelet 80, so that the mounting flange 90 does not cover the opening 82. The height 92H of the housing opening 92 is greater than the height 64H of the head 64 of the fastener 60, so that the head 64 is recessed in the mounting flange 90. The housing opening 92 has a diameter 92D, which is larger than the diameter 64D of the head 64. The chassis 32 may have a recess 94 that at least partially accommodates the eyelet 80 and / or the mounting flange 90. Additionally or alternatively, the chassis 32 may have a recess 96 ( Fig. 1) exhibiting parts that at least partially accommodate the housing 22, e.g. parts other than the mounting flange 90.
[0011] The housing 22 includes an electrical connector receptacle 100 configured to at least partially accommodate and be connected to an electrical connector 102 (e.g., a first electrical connector) comprising one or more connector pins 106 and / or to one or more other components or systems 108 (see, e.g., Fig. 1), such as vehicle components or systems. The first pin or receptacle 70 of the electrical connector 24 extends into and is partially located within the electrical connector receptacle 100. The electrical assembly 20 may comprise one or more housing pins 104, which are at least partially located within the electrical connector receptacle 100. The one or more housing pins 104 may, for example, and without limitation, comprise at least five housing pins 104. The second pin or receptacle 72 and / or lower sections of the one or more housing pins 104 may extend towards, into, and / or through the printed circuit board 26. The electrical connector 102 may be located at least partially outside the electrical assembly 20 and / or the housing 22 (e.g., be formed separately from it) and may be referred to as an external electrical connector.
[0012] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the electrical connection 24 can comprise a single pin or receptacle 70.
[0013] Referring to Fig. The housing 22 optionally includes the electrical connector receptacle 100 (e.g., a first connector receptacle) and a second connector receptacle 120.
