Description

[0001] The invention relates to bedding according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] Generic bedding is known from practice, for example in the form of duvets, mattress pads and the like. The filling of the bedding, arranged within a covering, contains a nonwoven material and does not necessarily consist exclusively of this nonwoven material, although in many cases it does. To improve sleeping comfort, it is known to create zones of different thicknesses in bedding, for example to tailor the lying comfort on a mattress pad to the zones of different pressure with which a sleeping person lies on the mattress pad, or to tailor the thermal insulation effect of a duvet to the body zones where people may have different heat requirements. For this purpose, it is known to provide nonwoven materials of different thicknesses, for example by processing the same nonwoven material into pre-products that have a different number of nonwoven layers. These pre-products are cut into strips, and from these strips a filling is then assembled which has different layer thicknesses in the desired zones.

[0003] The invention is based on the object of improving a generic bedding product so that it can be manufactured as easily as possible.

[0004] This object is achieved by a bedding article having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are described in the subclaims.

[0005] In other words, the invention proposes dispensing with the production of pre-products and instead folding a single nonwoven web in the bedding so that it forms zones of different thicknesses due to different numbers of nonwoven layers. Accordingly, a bedding according to the invention has at least two different zones in which the nonwoven material has different thicknesses.

[0006] The filling of a bedding article according to the invention can contain additional filling material in addition to the nonwoven material folded according to the invention, for example, additional nonwoven material with different properties than the nonwoven material folded according to the invention. In one embodiment, however, the filling comprises a single nonwoven web, which simplifies the production of the bedding article.

[0007] Regardless of whether the filling of a bedding article according to the invention contains a single or multiple nonwoven webs, it can be provided that the respective nonwoven web extends only over part of the length of the bedding article, i.e. only over part of the various zones of the bedding article. For example, the filling in one zone can be completely free of nonwoven material, or at least free of the nonwoven layers folded according to the invention. In one embodiment, however, it is provided that the nonwoven web according to the invention extends through all zones of the filling. This again simplifies the production of the bedding article in an economically advantageous way, and the possibility of folding the nonwoven web differently in each zone, i.e. creating different numbers of nonwoven layers in the individual zones, enables the individual zones to be designed differently even with a large number of zones.

[0008] Regardless of whether the filling of a bedding article according to the invention contains a single or multiple nonwoven webs, including at least one nonwoven web folded according to the invention, the filling may contain additional filling material in addition to the nonwoven material folded according to the invention, for example a fundamentally different filling material that is not designed as a nonwoven. In one embodiment, however, the filling consists exclusively of the nonwoven web according to the invention in order to ensure the simplest and most economical production of the bedding article. Furthermore, regardless of whether it is a single nonwoven web or multiple pieces of nonwoven material, the design of the filling exclusively from nonwoven material is harmless for allergy sufferers and therefore also beneficial from a health perspective.

[0009] In one embodiment, the bedding forms a duvet. In keeping with the intended use of the duvet, namely that a person lies under the duvet, the duvet is also said to have a longitudinal direction that corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the person when the duvet is in use. In addition, the duvet is usually cut rectangularly so that it itself has a longitudinal direction that corresponds to the longitudinal direction of the person when in use. But even if the duvet is wider than it is long, for example if it extends across the entire width of a double bed, the longitudinal direction of the duvet is defined in the present proposal as the direction that runs from a head or shoulder zone of the duvet to a foot zone of the duvet. The head or shoulder zone is the area of the duvet closest to the head of a sleeping person, while the opposite end of the duvet defines the foot zone.

[0010] In one embodiment, a duvet designed according to the invention has a foot zone, which can also be referred to as a “foot warm zone” and provides particularly high thermal insulation and thus keeps the feet of the sleeping person particularly warm, in that the duvet has a larger number of fleece layers in this foot zone than in the head or shoulder zone.

[0011] In one embodiment, the duvet has a so-called balloon shape. This refers to a configuration of the individual zones that, in a longitudinal section through the duvet, has the greatest thickness in the middle area, namely between the head or shoulder zone and the foot zone. This means that the number of fleece layers is greater than the respective number of fleece layers in the head or shoulder zone and the foot zone.

[0012] An area of the duvet that has particularly good thermal insulation properties is referred to as the thermal zone. In a duvet designed according to the invention, this is achieved by a specific number of fleece layers. In one embodiment, the duvet has an area within the thermal zone that has comparatively lower thermal insulation properties and, due to the smaller number of fleece layers, is more breathable than the surrounding thermal zone. The greater breathability means that air flow through the duvet is possible with less flow resistance than in the surrounding thermal zone, so that body moisture can be better dissipated through evaporation in the breathable area than in the surrounding thermal zone.

[0013] In one embodiment, the bedding according to the invention forms a mattress topper. Like a duvet, the mattress topper also has a longitudinal direction and several zones, so that the mattress topper designed according to the invention is filled with different thicknesses in each zone, corresponding to the different pressure loads in each zone, for a high level of sleeping comfort.

[0014] In one embodiment, the mattress topper has a lumbar zone located between the head or shoulder zone, in which a sleeping person rests with their hip or lumbar region during use. Due to the comparatively high pressure load in this area, the mattress topper has the highest number of fleece layers in the lumbar zone compared to the other zones of the mattress topper.

[0015] In one embodiment, the filling has seams which connect the superimposed fleece layers to one another in order to prevent the fleece layers from slipping and in this way to maintain the desired division of the filling into the various zones with their respective specific number of fleece layers.

[0016] For example, such a seam can be created before further folds are created in the nonwoven web. In one embodiment, however, at least one seam is designed such that it connects all nonwoven layers lying on top of each other at this point. In a preferred embodiment, all seams are designed in this way, so that at all seams, all nonwoven layers lying on top of each other at this point are connected to each other. This facilitates the production of the bedding and ensures the secure arrangement of all nonwoven layers and folds.

[0017] The invention is explained in more detail below using purely schematic representations. Fig. 1 to 11 schematic longitudinal sections through different embodiments of the fillings of bedding.

[0018] In Fig. 1 shows a schematic longitudinal section of a filling 1 for bedding. The exemplary embodiments show a filling 1 that serves as the exclusive filling of the bedding. Unlike the exemplary embodiments shown, the filling 1 shown in each case can be supplemented with additional filling materials. In all illustrations, the filling 1 is aligned such that, during use, the foot end of the finished bedding is on the right and the head end is on the left. A serpentine line illustrates how a nonwoven web 2 forms several superimposed layers.

[0019] Fig. 1 shows the filling 1 of a duvet, where the filling 1 has only two different, approximately equal-sized zones. Due to the schematic representation, Fig. 1 and in all other illustrations, the actual length of a zone, relative to the total length of the filling, may differ from the proportions shown. The two zones in Fig. 1 consists of a foot zone 3 and a head or shoulder zone 4. Adapted to the different warmth requirements of each zone, foot zone 3 is designed as a foot warming zone, i.e., a zone with increased thermal insulation. Unlike head or shoulder zone 4, which has only two fleece layers, foot zone 3 has four fleece layers and therefore offers a higher degree of thermal insulation.

[0020] Fig. Figure 2 shows a filling 1 with three zones, with a central zone 5 created between the foot zone 3 and the head or shoulder zone 4. The head or shoulder zone 4 is the smallest zone in this construction of the filling 1. The thickness of the filling increases from the 2-layer head or shoulder zone 4 through the four-layer central zone 5 to the 6-layer foot zone 3.

[0021] Fig. 3 shows a filling 1 with four zones, whereby in this embodiment, the thickness of the filling increases continuously from the head or shoulder zone 4 to the foot zone 3. Between the middle zone 5 and the foot zone 3, a leg zone 6 is provided in this embodiment, so that, for example, this filling 1 has a foot warming zone with an 8-layer foot zone 3.

[0022] Fig. 4 has a filling 1 with three zones, with the foot zone 3 being significantly smaller than the head or shoulder zone 4, and with these two zones each being designed with four layers. Between them, the filling 1 has a central zone 5, which, with six fleece layers, forms the thickest area of the filling 1, so that the design of this filling 1 is also referred to as a so-called balloon shape.

[0023] Fig. 5 also has a filling 1 with a balloon shape, but with only a 4-layer middle zone 5 and a 2-layer head or shoulder zone 4 and foot zone 3, so that this embodiment does not have a foot warming zone.

[0024] Fig. 6 differs from the embodiment of the Fig. 5 by the fact that the middle zone 5 in Fig. 6 is designed in six layers.

[0025] Fig. 7 shows a filling 1 which has a balloon shape and is similar to the embodiment of the Fig. 6, with a 2-layer head or shoulder zone 4 and a 6-layer middle zone 5, but the foot zone 3, in contrast to Fig. 5 or Fig. 6 is designed in four layers, so that this filling 1 has a foot warm zone.

[0026] Fig. 8 shows an embodiment similar to the Fig. 7, whereby the head or shoulder zone 4 is still designed in two layers, but both the foot zone 3 and the middle zone 5 are in comparison to Fig. 7 each have two more fleece layers.

[0027] Fig. 9 shows a filling 1 in which both the foot zone 3 and the head or shoulder zone 4 are each designed as a warm zone with four fleece layers, while the middle zone 5 has only two fleece layers.

[0028] Fig. 10 shows a filling 1 such as can be used, for example, for a mattress topper. In the head or shoulder zone 4, the filling 1 has four fleece layers and in the foot zone 3 only two. In between, adjacent to the foot zone 3, there is a leg zone 6 with four fleece layers, and between the leg zone 6 and the head or shoulder zone 4, there is a lumbar zone 7 with six fleece layers.

[0029] Fig.11 shows an embodiment of a filling 1 that can be used for a duvet and has a thermal zone with high thermal insulation effect, while the foot zone 3 is not designed as a foot-warming zone, but rather has only two fleece layers. The aforementioned thermal zone has a four-layer structure and extends, adjacent to the foot zone 3, from a leg zone 6 to the head or shoulder zone 4, enclosing these two zones. Despite its high thermal insulation effect, the thermal zone is designed to be breathable. For this purpose, it has an interruption in which it has only two layers, thus forming a breathable area 8.

[0030] In all of the illustrated embodiments, a single nonwoven web extends over all zones of the filling 1 and, by being folded accordingly, enables the different thicknesses of the various zones.
