Description

[0001] The invention relates to a pane unit for a window on motor vehicles, which has a first pane with an inner side that is oriented towards an interior of the vehicle and comprises an outer side opposite it, and with a guide element that extends along a longitudinal side of the first side and is provided for guiding a second pane that can be moved up and down.

[0002] Such a window unit is known from EP 2 463 133 A1. The first window is surrounded by a frame comprising a multi-part frame profile with at least one secondary part as a soft component. A receiving area for a cover element is provided on the frame, facing the outside of the body. A primary part, a hard component, is provided within the frame and includes a U-shaped guide profile. This U-shaped guide profile is associated with a longitudinal edge of the window. The longitudinal edge, as well as the outer and inner surfaces of the window, are overmolded with a soft component. The primary part is partially overmolded with the same soft component.

[0003] From EP 2 463 134 A1, a disc unit is also known. In this disc unit, a hard component with a U-shaped guide profile is formed, oriented towards the longitudinal side of the first disc. This hard component surrounds an area adjacent to the longitudinal edge on both the inside and outside of the first disc. The hard component, which has a U-shaped profile to form a guide element, is overmolded on the outside with a soft component, which also serves as a guide element. The soft component bears against both the outside and the inside of the disc.

[0004] From US Patent 2022 / 0355654 A1, a window assembly for motor vehicles is known. This window assembly comprises a first, fixed pane. A guide element is attached to an inner surface of the first, fixed pane and extends beyond the first pane, overlapping the inner surface of a second pane. The second pane is movable up and down relative to the first pane. The first and second panes are arranged in a common plane, with a sealing element provided between them.

[0005] From US patent 2002 / 0140251 A1, a disc assembly is further disclosed, comprising a first fixed disc and a second movable disc. A guide element is provided on the inner side of the first fixed disc, which engages with a second guide element attached to the inner side of the second movable disc. The first disc and the second disc are held in a common plane relative to each other by the guide elements.

[0006] From JP S62-265 018 A, a disk assembly is known with a fixed disk and a disk that moves up and down. A U-shaped guide element is attached to the fixed disk. Another guide element is attached to the disk that moves up and down, and this guide element engages with the guide element of the fixed disk. The two disks are positioned in a common plane. An analogous arrangement is known from JP S61-105 221 U.

[0007] From DE 10 2017 004 131 A1, a divided window with a central mullion is known. The central mullion is fixedly connected to one end face and to the fixed pane on one inner side. Opposite, the movable pane is guided against the central mullion. The two panes are aligned in a common plane.

[0008] DE 10 2019 213 161 A1 discloses a frame element attached to an end face and an inner surface of a stationary disc. This frame element comprises a U-shaped guide in which the movable disc is guided. Between the stationary disc and the movable disc, the frame element includes a decorative element. US 2024 / 0 253 439 A1 discloses an analogous embodiment of the frame element.

[0009] The invention is based on the objective of proposing a disc unit which has a first disc with a guide element arranged thereon for a disc which can be moved up and down therein, in which the arrangement of the disc which can be moved up and down is improved in relation to the first disc.

[0010] This task is solved by a disc assembly in which the guide element is arranged, in particular attached, or connected to the inside of the first disc. This arrangement has the advantage that the guide element is more rigid, since a surface section or support section of the guide element adjoining the inside of the first disc extends along its inner surface, thus providing stiffening. Furthermore, this design offers the advantage of increased security against break-ins. Additionally, the design of the guide between the first disc and the movable disc can be visually improved.

[0011] In particular, it is intended that the guide element is attached exclusively to the inside of the first pane. The longitudinal edge between the inside and outside of the first pane, as well as the outside of the first pane itself, are therefore completely free and not covered by the guide element and / or any component for connecting the guide element to the first pane.

[0012] In an advantageous embodiment, a sealing element can be inserted into the guide of the guide element, along which the movable disc is guided. This arrangement allows the existing concepts regarding the sealing element for guiding the movable disc to remain applicable.

[0013] The movable pane is aligned to overlap the inner surface of the first pane. This allows for a simplified seal in the area between the first pane (the stationary pane) and the movable pane. This pane unit is installed in an opening or recess of a vehicle door, with the first pane fixed to the body and the second pane moving up and down through the window guide element in the door body.

[0014] Furthermore, it is preferably provided that a sealing strip is arranged between the longitudinal side of the first pane facing the movable pane and an outer surface of the movable pane. This sealing strip is supported against the longitudinal side of the first pane and rests against the outer surface of the movable pane. Preferably, the sealing lip has an abutment or stop that extends at least partially or completely across the thickness of the longitudinal side of the first pane. This sealing lip is preferably integrally formed with the sealing element. This provides, firstly, an additional seal between the movable pane and the fixed or first pane. Secondly, this arrangement has the advantage of passing an ice scraper test, as this sealing lip exhibits improved mechanical properties and thus prevents damage during ice scraping.

[0015] The sealing lip has a support in the transition area to the sealing element arranged in the U-shaped guide, which reduces the spreading or lifting of the sealing lip relative to the moving window when an ice scraper is inserted.

[0016] According to a first embodiment of the invention, the guide element comprises a U-shaped guide having an inner and an outer guide section, which are spaced apart from each other by a guide base. This forms the receiving space for the sealing element and the disc that can be moved up and down therein.

[0017] In the design of the guide element, it can be provided that the inner guide web and the outer guide web do not extend beyond the longitudinal side of the first disk towards the disk that can be moved up and down. Alternatively, it can be provided that the inner guide web of the guide element does not extend beyond the longitudinal side of the first disk towards the disk that can be moved up and down, and that the outer guide web does extend beyond the longitudinal side of the first disk towards the disk that can be moved up and down. The latter embodiment has the advantage that increased support forces can be transmitted to the disk that can be moved up and down by the guide element.

[0018] Preferably, the U-shaped guide of the guide element is formed from a hard component, which is at least partially overmolded on its outer surface by a soft component. This hard component can, for example, be designed as an insert. When the soft component is inserted into an injection mold in which the first disk and the hard component are placed, the hard component is at least partially overmolded, forming a connection between the first disk and the hard component. Preferably, the soft component extends at least partially between the inner surface of the first disk and the adjacent inner guide section of the guide. This allows for a rigid connection between the guide element and the first disk. The hard component can be made of polypropylene or similar materials, for example, while the soft component can be made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) or similar materials.

[0019] In an alternative embodiment, the guide element can be formed from a hard component that is attached to the inside of the first pane by an adhesive strip, an MS polymer layer, or an injection molding, and preferably has its outside coated, foiled, painted, surface-finished, or provided with a cover or a soft component. This allows for a simple way to modify the optical effect of the guide element to improve the view for the vehicle occupants.

[0020] Furthermore, it can be advantageously provided that a support section, formed from the hard component and oriented towards the inside of the disc, extends from the inner guide section of the U-shaped guide. Thus, the hard component can be L-shaped. This allows for a larger contact area of the guide element on the inside of the disc. In addition, when a force is applied to the outer guide element, improved dissipation and support of the applied force via the support section can be achieved.

[0021] According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the guide element has a web-shaped outer guide section which is aligned by a guide base at a distance from a surface section of the inner side of the first disk, wherein the U-shaped guide is formed by a surface section on the inner side of the first disk and the web-shaped outer guide section. This represents a weight-reducing embodiment.

[0022] This design has the advantage that the elimination of the inner guide rib reduces the depth offset between the outer surface of the first disk and the movable disk. This also reduces the step between the outer surface of the first disk and the outer surface of the movable disk. Furthermore, weight savings can be achieved in the design of such a guide element.

[0023] In this alternative embodiment of the guide element, the outer guide section or outer guide web can extend only as far as the longitudinal side of the first disk in the direction of the disk that can be moved up and down. Alternatively, this outer guide web can extend beyond this longitudinal side of the first disk in the direction of the disk that can be moved up and down.

[0024] Advantageously, the rib-shaped outer guide section extends parallel to the inside of the first disc to its longitudinal edge. Alternatively, a free end of the outer guide rib can be inclined towards the inside of the first disc. This creates a trapezoidal interior space for the guide area between the inside of the disc and the guide element. This has the advantage of improving the seal's retention through positive locking. Additional retaining elements on the seal for secure positioning within the guide area are therefore unnecessary.

[0025] In this alternative embodiment of the guide element, it is further preferably provided that the web-shaped guide section transitions into a guide base, through which the guide section is aligned at a distance from the inside of the first disk, and that a support section is formed opposite the outer guide section, bearing against the inside of the first disk. In this embodiment, a hard component is provided, in particular for forming the outer guide section, the guide base, and the support section, which is approximately Z-shaped, S-shaped, or stepped. This, in turn, allows for improved absorption of a force acting on the movable disk.

[0026] Preferably, in this alternative embodiment of the guide element, at least the outer guide section and the guide base are formed by a hard component, which is at least partially overmolded on its outer surface by a soft component, wherein the soft component preferably fixes the hard component to the inside of the first disc. Alternatively, the guide element can be formed from a hard component and attached to the inside of the disc with an adhesive, such as a PU adhesive or the like, or with an adhesive strip or an MS polymer layer.

[0027] Furthermore, it can alternatively be provided that, in this alternative embodiment of the guide element, the web-shaped guide section and the guide base are made of a metallic material, a light metallic material, or a fiber-reinforced composite material. These embodiments can be attached to the inside of the first pane by an adhesive, such as a PU adhesive or the like, or an adhesive strip, or an MS polymer. It can also be provided that such materials are attached to the inside of the first pane with a soft component. In the aforementioned examples of the alternative embodiment of the guide element, it can also be provided that the surfaces facing the interior of the body are fitted with a cover, a trim strip, a coating, or a paint finish.

[0028] The invention, as well as further advantageous embodiments and developments thereof, are described and explained in more detail below with reference to the examples shown in the drawings. The features that can be derived from the description and the drawings can be applied individually or in any combination according to the invention. The drawings show: Fig. 1 a schematic side view of a disc unit, Fig. 2 a schematic sectional view along line II in Fig. 1, Fig. 3 a schematic sectional view of an alternative embodiment along line II in Fig. 1, Fig. 4 a schematic sectional view of a further alternative embodiment to Fig. 1, Fig. 5 a schematic sectional view of a further alternative embodiment to Fig. 1, Fig. 6 a schematic sectional view of the embodiment according to Fig. 4 in an ice scraper test, Fig. 7 a schematic sectional view of an alternative embodiment to Fig. 5, Fig. 8 a schematic sectional view of an alternative embodiment to Fig. 7, Fig. 9 a schematic sectional view of a further alternative embodiment to Fig. 5, and Fig. 10 a schematic sectional view of a further alternative embodiment to Fig. 5, and Fig. 11 a schematic sectional view of a further alternative embodiment to Fig. 5.

[0029] In Fig. Figure 1 shows a view of a disc unit 11. Fig. Figure 1 shows a view of the outer side of the window unit 11, which is installed in a vehicle body. This window unit 11 comprises a first window 12, which can be fixedly mounted in a vehicle door. The first window 12 is associated with a second, movable window 14 at a longitudinal edge 13 or at the vertical end face 13. A guide element 15 is arranged between the first window 12 and the second window 14, extending along the longitudinal side 13 of the first window 12 and downwards into the door beyond the longitudinal side 13 of the first window 12. The first window 12 can include a frame 17, which, according to the exemplary embodiment, surrounds the window 12 up to the longitudinal side 13. One or more fastening elements 16 can be arranged on and / or directly molded onto the frame 17. These fastening elements 16 allow the first window 12 to be attached to or in the body of the door.

[0030] The movable pane 12 can, for example, be a tempered safety glass (ESG) pane, a laminated safety glass (VSG) pane, or a pane made of plastic or a plastic composite. The first pane 12 can also, for example, be a tempered safety glass (ESG) pane, a laminated safety glass (VSG) pane, or a pane made of plastic or a plastic composite. Furthermore, the first pane 12 can be designed as a painted panel made of various materials, such as glass, metal, plastic, wood, or the like. The first pane 12 can be transparent, semi-transparent, opaque, or completely opaque. This first pane 12 can also include functional elements, such as a display for showing information or safety features.

[0031] The in Fig. The disc unit 11 shown can be mounted on a driver's door and / or passenger's door, or on a door in the rear area of the motor vehicle.

[0032] In Fig. 2 is a schematic sectional view along line II in Fig. Figure 1 shows the connection and positioning of the guide element 15 to an inner surface 18 of the first disc 12. The guide element 15 is attached to the inner surface 18, specifically exclusively to the inner surface 18, of the first disc 12. The end face 13 or longitudinal side 13 and one outer surface 19 of the first disc 12 are completely free. The guide element 15 comprises a U-shaped guide 21 into which a sealing element 22 can be inserted. This sealing element 22 serves to seal the disc 14, which can be moved up and down in the guide.

[0033] This guide element 15 is preferably designed as a two-component component. It consists of a hard component 23, which is at least partially surrounded by a soft component 24. The soft component 24 can surround at least the outer surface of the hard component 23. Advantageously, the soft component 24 is formed between the main component 23 and the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12. The soft component 24 can be made of a thermoplastic elastomer. This allows the guide element 15 to be attached to the inner surface of the guide element 15 by means of the soft component 24. For example, it can be provided that the hard component 23 and the disk 12 are placed in an injection mold, and then the soft component 24 is injected, so that the guide element 15 is formed and the connection to the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12 is simultaneously established. The soft component 24 can also form the frame 17 at the same time.

[0034] For example, EP 0 857 116 B1 is fully referenced as a source of materials for both the hard and soft components.

[0035] By attaching the guide element 15 exclusively to the inside of the first disk 12, the second disk 14 is guided to move up and down behind the first disk 12 when viewed from the outside. An overlap area 26 is formed between the first and second disks 12, 14. A portion of a sealing element 22 extends into a space within the overlap area 26, to which a sealing lip 27 extends outwards. This sealing lip 27 is oriented both towards the longitudinal side 13 of the first disk 12 and towards an outer surface 28 of the second disk 14. This sealing lip 27 has an abutment 29 against the longitudinal side 13 of the first disk. This allows the sealing lip 27 to bear against the first disk 12 and to rest against the outer surface 28 of the second disk 14 under at least a slight preload. The function of the sealing lip 27 is described below. Fig. 5 described.

[0036] The guide element 15 has an inner guide web 31 and an outer guide web 32 to form the U-shaped guide 21, which are spaced apart from each other by a guide base 33. Additionally, the guide element 15 has a support section 35, which preferably lies in the plane of the inner guide web 31 and is oriented opposite to the inner guide web 31. This allows for a larger contact area for attaching the guide element 15 to the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12. At the same time, this serves to improve the stiffening of the edge region of the first disk 12.

[0037] Furthermore, to improve the connection of the guide element 15 to the inside 18 of the first disk 12 between the inner guide web 31 and the support section 35, a recess 36 can be provided in the hard component 23, which is filled with the soft component 24.

[0038] In Fig. Figure 3 is a schematic sectional view of an alternative embodiment. Fig. 2 shown. The structure of the guide element 15 with the U-shaped guide 21 through the inner guide web 31, the outer guide web 32 and the guide base 33 arranged between them corresponds to that in Fig. 2. Advantageously, a support section 35 can also be provided, wherein the aforementioned sections form the hard component 23. The hard component 23 can be overmolded on its outer surface with the soft component 24. Alternatively, a cover, decorative strip 37, or a coating can also be applied to the hard component 23. For connecting the guide element 15 according to Fig. 3 is different from Fig. 2. It is provided that, for example, an adhesive tape 38 is used. This adhesive tape 38 extends along the surface section 34 on the inner surface 18 of the first disc 12. The guide element 15 is attached to it by the adhesive bond. Instead of the adhesive tape 38, an MS polymer layer can also be provided. Likewise, an injection molding between the U-shaped guide 21 and the inner surface 18 of the first disc 12 can also be provided.

[0039] In Fig. Figure 4 is a schematic sectional view of another alternative embodiment of the Fig. 2 and Fig. Figure 3 shows the structure of the guide element 15 with the U-shaped guide 21 through the inner guide web 31, the outer guide web 32 and the guide base 33 arranged between them. This corresponds to the structure shown in Figure 3. Fig. 2 and Fig. 3. This embodiment differs with respect to the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 differs in that a support section 35 is not provided. Instead, the guide element 15 is designed only as a U-shaped guide 21. The soft component 24 can be designed as an overmolding, which connects the inner guide web 31 to the inner surface 18 of the first disk and also covers the free outer surfaces of the guide element 15. Alternatively, this U-shaped guide element 15 can also be fastened by an adhesive tape 38 or by the other fastening options according to Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 be attached to the inside 18 of the disc 12.

[0040] In Fig. Figure 5 is a schematic sectional view along line II in Fig. Figure 1 shows an alternative embodiment of the guide element 15. Fig. Figure 2 shows the structure of the guide element 15 in Fig. 4 corresponds in principle to the embodiment in Fig. 2. In contrast, the embodiment according to Fig. However, in Figure 4, it is provided that an inner guide web 31 is not formed. The U-shaped guide 21 of the guide element 15 is thus formed by a modified guide element 15, which is formed only by the outer guide web 32 and the guide base 33. This guide element 15 can be L-shaped. Alternatively, the guide element 15 can be Z-shaped or S-shaped, as shown. This guide element 15 forms the U-shaped guide 21 with a surface section 34 on the inner side 18 of the first disk 12. The outer guide web 32 is positioned at a distance from the inner side 18 of the first disk 12 by the guide base 33. The depth offset between an outer side 19 of the first disk 12 and the outer side 28 of the movable disk 14 is thereby reduced. This embodiment differs from the embodiment in Figure 4. Fig. 2. Also weight-optimized. Otherwise, the statements regarding Fig. 2 and Fig. 4.

[0041] In Fig. Figure 6 is a schematic sectional view of the embodiment according to Fig. Figure 5 illustrates this in a so-called ice scraper test. When removing ice from the second pane 14 using an ice scraper, the scraper can become wedged between the sealing lip 27 and the outer surface 28 of the second pane 14. The advantageous design of the sealing lip 27, on the one hand, and the arrangement of an edge area of the movable pane 14 in the overlap area 26 with the first pane 12, on the other, prevent mechanical damage to the guide element 15. The abutment 29 on the sealing lip 27 prevents the ice scraper from expanding and being forced between the outer surface of the second pane and the sealing element 22.

[0042] In Fig. 7 is another sectional view of another alternative embodiment to Fig. Figure 5 illustrates this embodiment. This embodiment also includes a guide element 15, which is formed by the outer guide web 32, the guide base 33, and preferably by the support section 35. These components constitute the hard component 23. The outer surface of the outer guide web 32, the guide base 33, and the support section 35 are, for example, completely overmolded with a soft component 24. In this embodiment, the hard component 23 is attached to the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12 by an adhesive strip or an MS polymer. The overmolding or soft component 24 can connect to the adhesive layer or to the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12 for sealing purposes. Otherwise, the descriptions in Figure 5 apply. Fig. 5.

[0043] In Fig. Figure 8 is a schematic sectional view of another alternative embodiment of the Fig. Figures 5 to 7 illustrate the design of the guide element 15. The embodiments shown in the figures are as follows: Fig. 5 to 7. In these embodiments according to Fig. In figures 5 to 7, it is provided that the outer guide web 32 extends only as far as the longitudinal side 13 of the first disk 12 in the direction of the movable disk 14. In this embodiment according to Fig. Figure 8 shows the outer guide web 32 in an alternative embodiment. The outer guide web 32 extends beyond the longitudinal side 13 of the first disk 12 towards the movable disk 14. This design of the outer guide web 32 can also be used in the embodiments according to the Fig. 2 to 4 are planned.

[0044] In Fig. Figure 8 further illustrates an alternative embodiment of the sealing element 22. In this embodiment, the abutment 29 on the sealing lip 27 extends not only partially across the width of the longitudinal side 13 of the first disc 12, but preferably across the entire width of the longitudinal side 13 of the first disc 12. This allows the longitudinal side 13 of the first disc to be completely protected by this sealing lip 27, particularly against stone chips. This embodiment also exhibits increased resistance in the ice scraper test. Furthermore, the free end of the sealing lip 27 opposite the abutment 29 can be made to bear against the outside of the movable disc 14 with increased force. This further minimizes water ingress. In addition, this allows the offset between the first disc 12 and the movable disc 14 to be made more visually pleasing.

[0045] This alternative embodiment of the sealing lip 27 on the sealing element 22 can also be used in all other embodiments according to the Fig. Numbers 2 to 11 are planned.

[0046] In Fig. 9 is another alternative embodiment to the Fig. Figures 5 to 8 illustrate this embodiment. In this embodiment, the outer guide web 32 is designed with its free end inclined towards the inner surface 18 of the first disk 12. This design of the guide element 15 is particularly suitable when the S-shaped, Z-shaped, or L-shaped guide element 15 is bonded to the inner surface 18 of the disk 12. In this embodiment, it is preferably provided that the guide 21 narrows towards the movable disk 14. This allows the guide 21 to be trapezoidal or to have a trapezoidal interior. This has the advantage that the sealing element 22 inserted into the guide 21 can be held in place by a positive fit. Additional fastening elements, such as those shown, for example, in the embodiments according to [reference missing], are not required. Fig. 7 and Fig. The 8 points represented by retaining arms can be omitted.

[0047] In Fig. Figure 10 is a schematic sectional view of another alternative embodiment. Fig. 5 and Fig. Figure 6 shows that in this embodiment, the guide element 15 has an outer guide web 32 and a guide base 33. Additionally, a support section 35 is provided, which is triangular or roof-shaped and merges into the guide base 33, or encompasses the guide base 33 and preferably extends to the outer guide element 32. This represents an alternative to the L-shaped guide element 15 and can alternatively be used in all the aforementioned embodiments. The outer guide element 32, the guide base 33, and the support section 35 are preferably designed as a single hard component 23, which preferably includes recesses 36. A soft component 24, in particular TPE, is provided for connecting the hard component 23 to the inside of the disk 12.In this embodiment, the outer surface of the guide element 15 facing the interior is provided, for example, with a decorative strip 37 or a cover. This decorative strip 37 or cover can be attached by means of an adhesive strip 38 or an adhesive. Alternatively, the decorative strip 37 or the cover can also be glued, pressed, or clipped on. Furthermore, it can alternatively be provided that a paint finish or coating is used instead of the decorative strip or cover.

[0048] In Fig. Figure 11 is a schematic sectional view of another alternative embodiment. Fig. 5 and Fig. 7 to Fig.Figure 10 illustrates this embodiment. In this embodiment, the guide element 15 again consists of an outer guide web 32, the guide base 33, and the support section 35. This can be a stepped or a Z-shaped arrangement. In this embodiment, the guide element 15 is made, for example, of a metal, a light metal, or a fiber composite material. To attach the guide element 15, the support section 35 is fastened to the inside 18 of the first disk 12 by means of an adhesive tape 38, an adhesive strip, an MS polymer, or by back injection molding. The quantities of components shown in the preceding figures also apply.
