Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of laser welding and in particular to a laser welding device suitable for large diameter pipes. 2. Description of the state of the art
[0002] With reference to Fig. 8 and Taiwanese patent no. TW202346015A “Automated Auxiliary Welding Equipment”, the conventional laser welding machine 9 performs welding operations using laser energy. The conventional laser welding machine 9 uses a laser generator to produce a beam which undergoes beam expansion, reflection, and focusing before being directed onto the surface of a workpiece 91. The surface heat is conducted through the workpiece, causing it to melt and form a specific weld pool, thereby achieving laser welding of the workpiece 91.
[0003] However, this conventional laser welding machine 9 uses a coupling assembly 92 connected to the machine, which moves up and down, forward and backward, and left and right through this coupling assembly 92 to generate three-dimensional changes in position and angle. The coupling assembly 92 has a laser gun 93 attached to its end. When the coupling assembly 92 moves, it can slightly affect the laser gun 93, causing it to wobble during welding operations, resulting in inaccurate welding or misalignment.
[0004] Furthermore, this conventional laser welding machine 9 is not suitable for processing large diameter pipes.
[0005] Furthermore, the larger the workpiece 91, the larger the corresponding conventional laser welding machine 9 must be. This leads to higher costs in manufacturing, transport, and space requirements. Therefore, there is a need for improvement.
[0006] The present invention aims to provide a laser welding device for large diameter pipes in order to eliminate the aforementioned deficiencies. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The present invention relates to a laser welding device for large-diameter pipes and comprises a hanging unit consisting of two semicircular parts connected to each other. The two semicircular parts are connected by two arcuate racks. A rotary displacement unit includes a motor connected to a gear. The gear is in contact with the two arcuate racks of the hanging unit. A welding unit includes a welding gun and a fixed base. The welding gun is connected to the fixed base. The rotary displacement unit is also connected to the fixed base. By attaching the hanging unit to a first workpiece and butt-joining a second workpiece to the first workpiece, the rotary displacement unit drives the welding unit. The rotary displacement unit and the welding unit rotate around the two arc-shaped racks of the hanging unit to perform a butt weld of the first workpiece and the second workpiece.
[0008] Preferably, two ring closures are arranged at the two connecting ends of the two semicircular parts of the hanging unit. The two ring closures are connected to each other to join the two semicircular parts to form a closed circle, so that the two semicircular parts are attached to the first workpiece.
[0009] Preferably, a first guide groove is formed on one side surface of the two semicircular parts of the suspension unit and a second guide groove is formed on the other side surface of the two semicircular parts.
[0010] Preferably, the fixed base of the welding unit has a first guide rod and a second guide rod. The first guide rod corresponds to the first guide groove of the two semicircular parts, and the second guide rod corresponds to the second guide groove of the two semicircular parts.
[0011] Preferably, the motor is connected to the fixed base of the welding unit.
[0012] Preferably, the welding unit rotates a complete revolution around a center point defined by the two semicircular parts of the hanging unit to perform butt welding by the rotary displacement unit.
[0013] Preferably, two support assemblies are attached, one under the first workpiece and one under the second workpiece.
[0014] Preferably, each support assembly comprises four columns and a frame base. Each column has a wheel located at its upper end.
[0015] Preferably, the welding gun of the welding unit is aligned with a joint between the first workpiece and the second workpiece.
[0016] The present invention uses the hanging unit to mount the welding unit to the first workpiece. The second workpiece is then positioned flush with the end face of the first workpiece. The rotary displacement unit is then activated to cause the welding unit to rotate around its center point while welding takes place, thereby achieving the purpose of welding large pipe components.
[0017] The hanging unit comprises two semicircular parts, which are connected by two ring clamps to secure them to the pipe surface of the first workpiece. The welding unit and the rotary-shifting unit are connected to the hanging unit to complete the installation. The laser welding device offers excellent mobility and easy assembly.
[0018] The laser welding device simplifies the welding unit, the hanging unit, and the rotary displacement unit to allow them to be mounted externally on the surface of the first workpiece and easily removed after welding is complete, thereby reducing manufacturing costs.

[0020] Referring to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 The laser welding device “A” of the present invention is suitable for welding large-diameter pipes, such as the first and second workpieces 51, 52. The laser welding device “A” of the present invention comprises a suspension unit 1, a rotary displacement unit 2, a welding unit 3 and two support assemblies 4.
[0021] The hanging unit 1 comprises two semicircular parts 11, which are connected to each other. Two ring locks 111 are arranged at the two connecting ends of the two semicircular parts 11 of the hanging unit 1. The two ring locks 111 are connected to each other to join the two semicircular parts 11 to form a closed circle. A first guide groove 112 is formed on one side surface of the two semicircular parts 11 of the hanging unit 1. A second guide groove 113 is formed on the other side surface of the two semicircular parts 11. The two semicircular parts 11 are mounted on the first workpiece 51. The two semicircular parts 11 are connected by two arcuate racks 13.
[0022] The rotary displacement unit 2 includes a motor 22 connected to a gear 21. The gear 21 is connected to the two arcuate racks 13 of the suspension unit 1. An output shaft 221 of the motor 22 is connected to the gear 21.
[0023] The welding unit 3 includes a welding gun 31 and a fixed base 32. The motor 22 is connected to the fixed base 32 of the welding unit 3. The welding gun 31 of the welding unit 3 is aligned with a joint between the first workpiece 51 and the second workpiece 52. The fixed base 32 of the welding unit 3 has a first guide rod 321 and a second guide rod 322. The first guide rod 321 corresponds to the first guide groove 112 of the two semicircular parts 11, and the second guide rod 322 corresponds to the second guide groove 113 of the two semicircular parts 11.
[0024] The two support assemblies 4 are each mounted below the first workpiece 51 and the second workpiece 52. Each support assembly 4 comprises four columns 41 and a frame base 43. Each column 41 has a wheel 42 located at its upper end.
[0025] Referring to Fig. 2, Fig. 3 to Fig. 4. The first workpiece 51 and the second workpiece 52 are positioned accordingly on the two support assemblies 4.
