AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing electromechanical brakes in motor vehicles face challenges in achieving economical and robust contacting between the control unit and the electric motor, particularly due to the complexity of plug connections and the difficulty of automated assembly.

Method used

The signal lines of the electric motor and control unit are directly connected via a welded connection at a connection point between them, allowing for efficient and durable contact without the need for plug connections, facilitated by sheathing and angled ends for ease of assembly.

Benefits of technology

This approach simplifies and economizes the production process while ensuring robust and reliable electrical contact, reducing maintenance efforts and improving assembly efficiency.

Abstract

The invention relates to an electromechanical brake (10) for a motor vehicle. The electromechanical brake (10) comprises an electric motor (14) arranged on a brake caliper housing (18), wherein the electric motor (14) has electrical signal lines (58) which, for signal transmission, are contacted at a connection point (70) with signal lines (62) of a control unit (38) which is arranged on a side of the brake caliper housing (18) other than the electric motor (14). The electric motor (14) drives an adjusting unit (42), via which at least one brake actuator (46) is axially movable for braking the motor vehicle. The signal lines (58) of the electric motor (14) and the signal lines (62) of the control unit (38) are contacted with one another at the connection point (70) via a welded connection.
