Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a motor vehicle wheel according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] According to the prior art, a motor vehicle wheel comprises a radially inner hub and a radially outer rim, wherein, viewed radially, a so-called wheel disc is positioned between the radially inner hub and the radially outer rim, which can be provided, for example, by spoke-shaped elements. The radially outer rim of a motor vehicle wheel comprises a so-called inner rim flange, a so-called outer rim flange, and a rim bed positioned between the two rim flanges, with rim shoulders providing a transition area between the rim bed and the two rim flanges. The inner rim flange of the rim is formed on the side of the wheel that faces the motor vehicle when the wheel is installed. The outer rim flange is formed on the side of the wheel that faces away from the motor vehicle when the wheel is installed.
[0003] Generally, vehicle wheels are desired to be lightweight, highly rigid, and able to withstand high loads. Therefore, there is a need for a new vehicle wheel that meets these requirements.
[0004] DE 10 2006 010 445 B4, DE 195 33 612 A1, US 6 346 159 B1, DE 198 05 270 A1, FR 2 756 220 A1, DE 10 2004 028 841 A1, DE 201 11 293 U1 and US 5 718 485 A disclose the subject matter of the preamble of claim 1.
[0005] Based on this, the present invention aims to create a novel motor vehicle wheel.
[0006] This problem is solved by a motor vehicle wheel according to claim 1.
[0007] According to the invention, at least one circumferential hollow chamber is formed in the radial direction between the rim and the hub in the area of the second side.
[0008] A lightweight and rigid vehicle wheel capable of withstanding high loads can be provided by means of at least one circumferential hollow chamber positioned radially between the outer rim and the inner hub. Such a vehicle wheel has a relatively low weight.
[0009] According to a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the motor vehicle wheel has a single circumferentially rotating hollow chamber which connects directly to the hub in the radial direction, wherein intermediate elements with circumferentially positioned openings are formed between the hollow chamber and the rim. Such a motor vehicle wheel, in which the single circumferentially rotating hollow chamber connects to the hub in the radial direction, is particularly advantageous for large rim widths.
[0010] According to a second, alternative, advantageous embodiment of the invention, the motor vehicle wheel has a single circumferentially rotating hollow chamber that connects directly to the rim in the radial direction, with intermediate elements having circumferentially positioned openings between the hollow chamber and the hub. Such a design of the motor vehicle wheel, in which the circumferentially rotating single hollow chamber connects to the rim, is particularly suitable for motor vehicle wheels with small rim widths.
[0011] According to a third, alternative, advantageous embodiment of the invention, the motor vehicle wheel has a single circumferentially rotating hollow chamber extending between the rim and the hub. Such a design of the motor vehicle wheel according to the invention is particularly advantageous when no venting of the motor vehicle wheel is required.
[0012] According to a fourth, alternative, advantageous embodiment of the invention, the motor vehicle wheel has two circumferentially rotating hollow chambers, namely a first hollow chamber that connects directly to the rim in the radial direction, and a second hollow chamber that connects directly to the hub in the radial direction. The stiffness can be further increased by means of two circumferentially rotating hollow chambers. Ventilation of the motor vehicle wheel is possible via intermediate elements positioned radially between the two circumferential hollow chambers.
[0013] Preferably, the intermediate elements are designed as spokes extending substantially in the radial direction or as struts extending substantially in the axial direction. When struts extending substantially in the axial direction are used as intermediate elements, the tensile-compressive strength of the motor vehicle wheel can be further improved.
[0014] Preferably, each hollow chamber is axially bounded by two axially spaced, frustoconical profiles and radially bounded by the hub and / or the rim. The use of two frustoconical profiles to form each hollow chamber is structurally preferred because such a design allows for the simple creation of each hollow chamber.
[0015] Preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims and the following description. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, without being limited thereto. The drawing shows: Fig. 1a, Fig. 1b Schematic views of a first embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel; Fig. 2 a schematic view of a second embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel; Fig. 3 a schematic view of a third embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel; Fig. 4a, Fig. 4b Schematic views of a fourth embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel; Fig. 5 a schematic view of a fifth embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel; and Fig. 6 a schematic view of a sixth embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel.
[0016] Fig. 1a and Fig. Figure 1b shows different views of a motor vehicle wheel 10 according to the invention, wherein the motor vehicle wheel 10 comprises a radially inner hub 11 and a radially outer rim 12. The rim 12 has, on a first side, an axially inner inner rim flange 13 facing the motor vehicle in the installed position of the motor vehicle wheel 10, and on an opposite second side, an axially outer outer rim flange 14 facing away from the motor vehicle in the installed position of the motor vehicle wheel 10. A so-called rim bed 15 is positioned between the inner rim flange 13 and the outer rim flange 14, wherein rim shoulders 16, 17 form a transition area between the rim bed 15 and the respective subsequent flange 13 and 14. The area between the radial inner hub 11 and the radially outer rim 12 is also referred to as the wheel bowl 18.
[0017] In accordance with the present invention, at least one circumferential hollow chamber 19 is formed radially between the rim 12 and the hub 11 in the region of the second side of the motor vehicle wheel 10, i.e., in the region of the side facing away from the motor vehicle in the installed position of the motor vehicle wheel 10. This allows for the provision of a lightweight and rigid motor vehicle wheel that can withstand high loads.
[0018] In the Fig. 1a and Fig. In the embodiment shown in 1b, a single circumferential hollow chamber 19 is present, which connects directly to the hub 11 in the radial direction, wherein intermediate elements 20 with circumferential openings 21 positioned between them are formed between the hollow chamber 19 and the radially outer rim 12.
[0019] In the illustrated embodiment of the Fig. 1a and Fig. 1b the intermediate elements 20 are designed as spokes 20 extending essentially in the radial direction.
[0020] In the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 1a and Fig. 1b is the only hollow chamber 19, bounded axially by two axially spaced, frustoconical profiles 22, 23 and radially by the hub 11, wherein one of the frustoconical profiles, namely in Fig. 1a The profile 22 is an integral part of the hub 11. The other frustoconical profile 23 is welded to the first frustospherical profile 22 and to the hub 11.
[0021] All assemblies are preferably made of a similar metallic material. Laser welding, electron beam welding, or friction stir welding are particularly suitable welding processes for joining the profile 23 to the profile 22 and the hub 11.
[0022] In the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 1a and Fig. 1b therefore shows a single circumferential hollow chamber 19 which, viewed radially, connects directly to the hub 11. Such a design is particularly suitable for large wheel rim widths of the motor vehicle wheel 10.
[0023] The wheel 10 is vented via the openings 21, which are formed between the intermediate elements 20 designed as spokes.
[0024] Fig. Figure 2 illustrates an embodiment of the invention in which again a single circumferential hollow chamber 19 is present, which, however, in the radial direction, connects directly to the rim 12, wherein the intermediate elements 20 with the openings 21 formed between them are formed or positioned between the hollow chamber 19 and the hub 11.
[0025] Even in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 2 is the hollow chamber 19, viewed in the axial direction, bordered by two axially spaced and frustoconical contoured profiles 22, 23, wherein in Fig. 2 the hollow chamber 19 is bounded in the radial direction by the rim 12, namely by the outer rim flange 14 and by the rim shoulder 17 adjoining the outer rim flange 14.
[0026] The frustoconical contoured profile 22, which in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 2 which is an integral part of the rim 12, branches off from it at the lowest point of the rim bed 12.
[0027] The other frustoconical contoured profile 23 is welded to the frustoconical contoured profile 22 and the rim 12.
[0028] Fig. Figure 3 shows an embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel 10 according to the invention, in which two circumferential hollow chambers 19a, 19b are present, namely a first hollow chamber 19a which is directly adjacent to the rim 12 in the radial direction, and a second hollow chamber 19b which is directly adjacent to the hub 11 in the radial direction.
[0029] At the in Fig. In the variant shown in Figure 3 of the invention, there are no openings for the ventilation of the wheel 10; however, it is also possible to open one of the hollow chambers 19a, 19b or both hollow chambers 19a, 19b via tube-like elements extending through the profiles 22 and 23, forming openings for the ventilation of the motor vehicle wheel 10.
[0030] In Fig. 3 Each of the hollow chambers 19a and 19b is bounded by two axially spaced, frustoconical contoured profiles 22, 23 and radially either by the hub 11 or by the rim 12, namely in the case of the hollow chamber 19a by the rim 12 and in the case of the hollow chamber 19b by the hub 11.
[0031] Fig. 4a and Fig. 4b shows a further development of the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 3, in which, viewed radially, intermediate elements 20 with openings 21 positioned between the cavity 19a, which is directly adjacent to the rim 12, and the cavity 19b, which is directly adjacent to the hub 11, are formed.
[0032] The intermediate elements 20 are, as in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 1a, Fig. 1b and Fig. 2 spokes extending essentially in a radial direction 20.
[0033] In the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 5 is again a single circumferentially circumferential hollow chamber 19 formed radially between the hub 11 and the rim 12, but in contrast to the embodiments of the Fig. 1a and Fig. 1b this hollow chamber 19 extends completely in the radial direction between the hub 11 and the rim 12. Therefore, in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 5 as in the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. 3 waived.
[0034] In contrast to the exemplary embodiment of the Fig. However, 3 are not two circumferentially circumferential hollow chambers 19a, 19b, but rather there is only a single circumferentially circumferential hollow chamber 19, which may, however, be penetrated by tube-like elements to form ventilation openings for the ventilation of the wheel.
[0035] In Fig. 5 The cavity 19 is radially bounded by the hub 11 and the rim 12 and axially bounded by two profiles 22 and 23, wherein the profile 22 is an integral part of the hub 11 and the rim 12, and wherein the profile 23 is welded to the hub 11 and the rim 12. Preferably, both profiles 22 and 23 are again frustoconical contoured profiles.
[0036] Fig. Figure 6 shows a further embodiment of a motor vehicle wheel according to the invention, which is basically the same as the embodiment of the Fig. 1a, Fig. 1b corresponds, which, however, differs from the embodiment of Fig. 1a, Fig. 1b differs in that between the cavity 19 adjoining the hub 11 in the radial direction and the rim 12, intermediate elements 20 are not positioned as spokes extending essentially in the radial direction, but rather intermediate elements 20 that extend essentially in the axial direction and are designed as struts 20.
[0037] The struts extend essentially in the axial direction as an extension of the rim bed 15. These struts are fitted with [unclear text] according to Fig. 6 the openings 21 for ventilation of the wheel 10 were made.
[0038] All wheels 10 according to the invention have in common that they have at least one circumferentially circumferential hollow chamber 19, 19a, 19b in the area of a so-called wheel bowl 18, i.e. between the hub 11 and the rim 12, in order to provide a light and stiff wheel which can withstand high loads.
[0039] Each circumferential hollow chamber 19, 19a and 19b can be segmented or subdivided into sub-chambers when viewed circumferentially.
[0040] Each hollow chamber 19, 19a and 19b is preferably bounded by two axially spaced, frustoconical profiles 22, 23, and radially by the rim 12 and / or the hub 11, wherein all elements of the wheel are preferably made of a metallic material. One of the frustoconical segments is an integral part of the rim and / or hub, the other frustoconical profile being welded to the other assemblies of the wheel.
