Irregular-section tubular body and axle beam for torsion beam and method of manufacturing the same

The invention provides a method of manufacturing an irregular section tubular body and axle beam. The axle beam has a tubular worked body that has sealed liquid therein and is press-formed by upper and lower press molds. One of the press molds has a convex mold portion to form a concave portion concaved in an axis perpendicular direction at an axial part of the axle beam. The press-forming of the tubular worked body is completed by a one stroke process using liquid pressure that increases as the internal volume of the worked body decreases due to formation of the concave portion. The concave portion extends substantially the length of the axle beam and has a substantially U-shaped or V-shaped cross-section forming a closed and sealed space.

Tractor with rear castor wheels

A hydrostatic agricultural tractor has front ground wheels mounted on the frame at fixed angles parallel to each other and parallel to a center line of the frame and rear ground wheels mounted on a respective castor, with each of the front ground wheels being driven by a respective drive motor which allows variable speed in both the first and second directions such that steering of the tractor is effected by a differential in speed between the front wheels with the rear wheels following the steering in a castoring action. A pair of damper cylinders is provided each connected between a bracket on a rear axle of the frame and a lever in the castor plane of the castor so as to provide a damping force tending to restrict rotation of the respective second wheel about the respective vertical pivot axis with the damping force at a maximum value when the rear wheels are parallel to the center line in either the forward or reverse directions.

Light-weight vehicle wheels with carbon fiber inserts

Application of carbon fiber reinforced polymer structures to metal vehicle wheels is effective in reducing the mass of the wheel while retaining suitable stiffness in the wheel structure. For maximum effect the reinforced polymer structure and the metal wheel must operate cooperatively. Because of the wide range of operating temperatures experienced by wheels and the large difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between metals and carbon fiber reinforced composites attachment of the polymer structure to the wheel by adhesive alone is problematical. However a wheel with an effective and durable reinforcement may be fabricated by confining, through mechanical interference, the reinforced polymer in a cavity in or on the spoke and by preheating the wheel before curing the polymer.

Spoke for a tire with optimized thickness for improved durability

The present invention provides spoke geometry for a non-pneumatic tire that is less prone to fatigue when used. In particular, the spoke geometry is provided with an optimized thickness profile over the length of the spoke. This optimization results in a reduction in the peak strain energy density levels in the spoke, thereby reducing the likelihood of crack initiation and propagation which in turn enhances the durability of the spoke and tire.

Manufacturing method for irregular-section tubular body and axle beam for torsion beam

The present invention intends to provide a manufacturing method of an irregular-section tubular body in which a manufacturing process is simplified, and complexing and large-sizing of an equipment, and increase of an equipment cost are avoided. In the manufacturing method of the present invention, a tubular worked body 1 sealed liquid W therein is press-formed by a press upper mold 6 and a press lower mold 3. One of the press upper and lower molds has one convex mold portion 3a to form a concave portion 1a concaved in an axis perpendicular direction at an axial part. The press-forming of the worked body to the tubular body is completed by one stroke process by using a liquid pressure increasing as decrease of internal volume of the worked body due to formation of the concave portion. Thus, liquid in the worked body is not pressurized by a pressurizing device after the press-forming.
